Businessman and son of a police officer is arrested in Tobago, in a drug bust in which a farmer is also arrested, and over $300,000 in cash seized by police. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00A businessman who is the son of a police officer and a farmer were arrested and officers seized
00:07several illicit drugs, items of interest, and cash during an operation in the Tobago
00:12Division.
00:13Police reports state between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the 6th of March, 2025, an intelligence-led
00:20operation was conducted in the Crown Point District.
00:23After weeks of surveillance, a team of officers from the Tobago Divisional Task Force, Area
00:28West, and the K-9 Unit conducted a search at the home and business place of a 30-year-old
00:35man on Kilgwin Bay Road, Bonnecourt, mere meters away from a primary school under the
00:41State of Emergency Regulation of 2024.
00:44During the search, officers found several illegal drugs, including 2,979 grams of cannabis,
00:53256 grams of cocaine, 28 ecstasy pills, and 5 grams of a substance believed to be crystal
01:01meth.
01:02They also seized a can of pepper spray, several scales, a vacuum sealer, and packaging materials,
01:08along with $377,273 and U.S. $355 in cash.
01:17Two men, the business owner and a 41-year-old man known to police, were arrested.
01:23The latter was also allegedly found with 14 grams of cocaine on his person.
01:29Investigations are ongoing.
