08:05OK.
08:06Donc, on a cover France, on a deux recharges, on a cover most of France.
08:10OK.
08:11Et qu'est-ce que le maximum weight ?
08:14Le maximum weight, 5 kg.
08:165 kg.
08:17OK.
08:46Vous allez.
08:47OK.
08:48OK.
08:48All right.
08:49We'll leave it there.
08:49Thanks very much for that.
08:51Ladies and gentlemen, Aviont.
08:52Thank you.
08:58All right.
09:00So, now time for our next pitch.
09:04Ah.
09:05Yes.
09:06So, this next startup will need a bit of time to bring their material to the stage.
09:16Please come and join.
09:17So, these guys are called Jetson.
09:21Jetson.
09:21As in, like, the Jetsons.
09:23Right.
09:23And they are proposing this helicopter tech, personal vehicle, which looks extremely cool.
09:29And virtually everyone I've spoken to about this wants one.
09:33So, discover it, and Jetson, the floor is yours.
09:51Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for joining us this afternoon.
09:55My name is Peter Turnstrom.
09:56I founded Jetson together with Thomas Patton, who is standing here next to me.
10:02Ah.
10:02We are very happy to have you here.
10:03And we are extremely happy to be able to show you something as exciting as the Jetson 1.
10:11Which button do I press?
10:13Well.
10:15OK.
10:16So, the big question.
10:17What is this thing that you are bringing on the stage?
10:21Well, it is the first commercially available EVTO personal aircraft in the world that you can buy.
10:29And you can get it delivered next year if you want.
10:32And the cool thing about it is that you don't need a private pilot's license.
10:38Yes.
10:39In the United States.
10:41In Europe, the situation is very, very, I would say, a little bit confusing.
10:47In Poland, it is legal.
10:48In other countries, it is not.
10:50And there are different legislations in different countries.
10:52But the most important thing is that you don't need an airport.
10:58You can start it from your garden.
11:00And most importantly, it is extremely fun to fly.
11:06And we can teach you to fly in five minutes.
11:10And the first four minutes, it's about just getting the person in, the origami himself.
11:15And then the next thing we do, we just tell them to use the throttle lever to actually start.
11:24It's so simple.
11:25It's unbelievable.
11:27Now, if you look at it from a technical perspective, it has a cell safety cell, which is in aluminum
11:35here.
11:36The design is inspired from the motorcycle world.
11:39This is inspired by the Ducati 916, of course, which has a very similar layout.
11:45And then apart from that aluminum, you have a ton of carbon fiber.
11:49You have a carbon fiber seat.
11:50There is carbon fiber arms for the propellers.
11:55And that's also the propellers are carbon fiber.
11:59Underneath here, you have possibility to add two batteries.
12:04We didn't bring the batteries to the show, make it lighter, easier to put on the stage.
12:09Right now, with the current battery technology, we have 20 minutes flight time.
12:14I think next year we will have maybe 25 or something like that.
12:18Batteries get better and better every year.
12:22The top speed is 55 knots.
12:25This is because the American regulations say that if you have something that is as light as this,
12:30and it flies less than 55 knots in speed, you don't need a pilot's license.
12:36That's amazing.
12:40Let's see here if this works.
12:43A lot of people have some concerns regarding safety.
12:46I mean, how safe could this thing be?
12:48Well, we can lose one motor without any problem.
12:52It will still hover beautifully in the sky.
12:55You can actually lose one motor on each arm.
12:57As long as you have four, one of each arm, you will still be flying.
13:02Then we have protection.
13:03This is a protection for the pilot in case something happens with the propeller.
13:07It will not go into the pilot.
13:10That's very important.
13:11Same thing goes here.
13:12This is made of a composite mix between Kevlar and carbon.
13:17And then also we have a ballistic parachute.
13:20It goes here.
13:22But we couldn't bring it here because the organizers had something against us bringing explosives here.
13:28Because a ballistic air parachute works with four explosive charges that sends the parachute up in the air.
13:35They didn't really want that kind of thing here with us.
13:37But it goes here in this compartment.
13:43And this is the most important thing with the jet zone.
13:46I'm going to let you in on a little secret.
13:50If there is one innovation that is important here, it's not that we are building a first electric helicopter.
13:57It is the flight computer.
14:00The flight computer we have developed.
14:02That's what took us majority of our time.
14:05To make that flight computer so easy to fly.
14:09Make the jet zone so easy to fly that any one of you can jump in and you can take
14:13off.
14:13And that's what took so much time.
14:16And it has a couple of series of functions.
14:19It has a fly-by-wire system inspired by Airbus.
14:22It is absolutely not inspired by Boeing.
14:27Not a lot of you get actually caught that joke.
14:30It has custom software with me and Thomas.
14:33We have custom software in it.
14:34We have a lot of functions, for instance, like the lower you fly, the lower the rate of descent and
14:42ascent.
14:42So if you put the throttle to zero, you will not go tumbling down.
14:46You will actually always make a perfect landing.
14:52Now, we released the jet zone on the 21st of October.
14:58See if you can go back here.
14:59Yes, we did a public launch.
15:01The company we started in 2017.
15:04We didn't use any external capital.
15:07We financed it ourselves, me and Thomas.
15:10The 21st of October, we launched the product by press release and also with an absolutely fantastic movie on YouTube.
15:21And that completely changed the world for me and Thomas and the rest of the company.
15:26Because we have now 37 million views on YouTube.
15:29We got general coverage on broadcast TV, BBC, CNN, Top Gear, all those kind of resources.
15:35And also international press coverage.
15:39Let me see here if it works.
15:41This is kind of slow.
15:43Go on.
15:43Rob, this promotional video last week.
15:47I'm not sure if you're here.
15:50Okay.
15:51Can we make it louder?
15:55Okay.
15:58This was on a show called Stephen Colbert.
16:00This is the most important show on the East Coast.
16:03This is a late night show.
16:04And basically, you can't hear what he's saying, but he immediately picked up the jet zone.
16:09And this, what you see here is that...
16:11My music card number is 3566-7865-2771.
16:19Expiration 924.
16:21Take a screen grab and charge me anything.
16:23Just give me one.
16:24I commute in New York City.
16:27I spent half of my kid's childhood in the Lincoln Tunnel.
16:31Of course there's a little sticker shock.
16:33This sucker comes in at a hefty...
16:34We're not going to continue there, but you get to get an idea how much...
16:37How much...
16:38How much...
16:40Attention we got.
16:41We have sold...
16:42We're selling currently...
16:43We have sold 350.
16:45Actually, that number is 400.
16:46It was yesterday.
16:47We have sold our 400th of Jetson.
16:50As you can see, we are doing quite well.
16:53So I have a new car.
16:55Just kidding.
16:56That's my neighbor's car.
16:57We just use it for the photo shoot.
17:01Just to give you an idea where we're going.
17:02So, right now we're building a research and development center in Italy.
17:06We are going to build...
17:07We're going to build about 20 of these.
17:09More prototypes.
17:10We can test them.
17:10We can...
17:11We can...
17:13We can crash test them and so on.
17:15This gives you a little bit idea of our trajectory.
17:18And the first delivery starts in 2023.
17:22And as a final note, I would like to just show you our master plan.
17:27Right now, we have the Jetson 1 here.
17:30But this is...
17:32And this is...
17:33We plan to build about 10,000 of these.
17:35Right?
17:36But there is...
17:37But as you can see, this is not something that we can use for things like urban air mobility
17:42or anything like that.
17:44We're not trying to solve big problems for humankind in an urban environment.
17:50This is just to have fun.
17:52And it's really good at it.
17:54But in the future, we want to build a two-seater.
17:57It's called the Jetson Duo.
17:58And in about a decade from now, we want to build a four-seater.
18:02And that's when we really democratize these guys and make everyone a pilot.
18:08Thank you very much for listening.
18:14Excellent.
18:15All right.
18:17So, just a quick comment on...
18:19So, this is...
18:21There are 400 of these being sold already.
18:24About...
18:24Yes, 402.
18:26Okay.
18:26That's the exact number.
18:27Are you allowed to tell us the retail price?
18:28Yes.
18:29That's 92,000 US dollars.
18:3192,000 US dollars, ladies and gentlemen.
18:34There you go.
18:35And you don't need a pilot's license to fly.
18:37No, that is the cool thing.
18:39Because it is so extremely light.
18:40I mean, if you grab it here...
18:42Yeah.
18:42And we'll lift it.
18:44Yeah.
18:44That's light.
18:45Yeah.
18:46It's extremely light.
18:47And what is so lightweight?
18:49The American legislation is that...
18:50The US legislation says that it's something called the ultralight.
18:54Okay.
18:54And then you don't need a pilot's license.
18:55In Europe, there is different legislation in different countries.
18:59Okay.
18:59So, you have to check.
19:00I haven't checked France yet.
19:01But the general rule of thumb is if you own a property...
19:06Okay.
19:06Or you can talk to the landowner, then you can fly.
19:08Okay.
19:09Yeah.
19:09Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
19:11Thank you.
19:11Jetson.
19:17All right.
19:18I'll let you guys shift it off the stage.
19:20It is light, actually.
19:21It's very light.
19:27And very cool.
19:29Huh?
19:3192,000 US dollars.
19:45Okay.
19:47I think we have one more startup for this flying drone section.
19:52These guys are called Volocopter.
19:57Volocopter.
19:58And I understand that it's another helicopter.
20:02but on a much larger scale.
20:03It's this one over here, right?
20:05Okay.
20:06Well, please come to the stage.
20:08Volocopter.
20:09Thank you.
20:11Volocopter, yes.
20:12We are actually building the future of urban air mobility around the world.
20:18This means that we are ready to start operations in Paris in 2024,
20:25with the first aero taxi within the city of Paris before the Olympics.
20:31But before we go through the details, I will leave you to a video.
20:48Hello, welcome, everybody.
20:50Hey, everybody.
20:52Hello, everybody.
20:54Hey.
20:55Hi.
21:05Hi, everybody.
21:11Hey.
21:11Hi.
21:13Hi.
21:13Hi.
21:15Hi.
