00:00Dear Egristiz family, we have the Mayor of Karataş Municipality in Adana, Mr. Ali Bedrettin Karataş, with us at the moment in our program.
00:11Welcome, Mr. President.
00:14Hello, nice to meet you.
00:15As an agricultural leader in Adana Karataş, we are closely following your services to Karataş.
00:22Mr. President, we thank you in advance for these services.
00:26You are a very valued member of the Egristiz family.
00:30Mr. President, Karataş is the pearl of the Mediterranean, as you describe it.
00:34Karataş is in a very important region of ours.
00:37What is the most important characteristic of President Karataş in agriculture?
00:44Karataş is a district situated on fertile lands between the Seyhan and Ceyhan rivers.
00:53We have 43 neighborhoods.
00:55Our 4 central neighborhoods.
00:58We have 43 neighborhoods in total.
01:00The region is the most important producer of citrus fruits.
01:05Furthermore, watermelon and melon production is concentrated in our region, particularly in Turfan.
01:15And it's a special region where peanuts are produced.
01:21With its sufficient irrigation areas, wetlands, and fertile, productive soil, it is a very important agricultural region.
01:31One of the most important areas of Çukurova is our agricultural lands within the borders of Karataş district.
01:39And also, olive production is developing, with new areas of production increasing as it expands.
01:53Banana greenhouses are production areas that are heavily reliant on development here.
02:01There is another, much more important study by Mr. Vademiz.
02:07Now Denizli Horizontal has been released.
02:09We thank him.
02:11Zera USB, led by him.
02:15This is a very valuable study.
02:17Here, too, agriculture will be practiced using water.
02:21Highly valuable products will be manufactured in this region.
02:26Karataş is being awarded a valuable USB drive, along with its packaging equipment.
02:31Bebeli is in the vicinity of our neighborhood.
02:35Apart from its agricultural characteristics, Karataş is also one of Türkiye's most important production areas within its borders.
02:44In our Adalı neighborhood next to this Greenhouse USB, the boundaries will also be created within the USB.
02:53We are also in the process of preparing to launch a tender for the infrastructure related to this soon.
03:01These are significant investments that will provide employment for approximately 8,000 people in our region.
03:07In this regard, we would like to express our gratitude to our esteemed Governor for the Yavuz Selim Pavilion.
03:13We wish him success in his new position.
03:15Karataş also has the most important fishing harbor in the Mediterranean region.
03:24Here, we also catch jumbo shrimp and fish, which are seafood products of well-known and recognized brands in Türkiye, and present them throughout Türkiye.
03:48Among the characteristics of the Karataş region.
03:50Besides that, we have three lagoons. In our lagoons, we produce bluefin tuna, high-quality fish, and caviar.
04:04These are also very special assets of Karataş.
04:07That's wonderful. Mr. President, are these being exported? Especially seafood products.
04:11Yes, Karataş's fish is of very high quality and is exported to various European countries under well-known and recognized brands.
04:23Blue crabs, in particular, are exported to America and China.
04:28It's a very valuable product.
04:29It's not a very well-known, recognized, or consumed product in Türkiye, but blue crab production in our region accounts for the largest blue crab production in Türkiye.
04:40The majority of the production takes place in our lagoons.
04:45We have the Karataş, Aketan, Ayetan, and Tuzla lagoons.
04:51There are also lagoons in our neighboring district of Yumurtalık.
04:54Blue crab production is largely sourced from our region.
04:59Very good.
05:00Mr. President, one of the most important issues in the aquaculture sector here is the cleanliness of the seas, as you know.
05:07So, if we consider the Karataş region, for example, in terms of sewage or industrial waste, water cleanliness and seawater cleanliness in the Karataş region...
05:20What could it be?
05:21Can you provide information on that matter?
05:24In my opinion, Karataş is one of the best areas in this regard.
05:31Of course, we have some problematic areas, but we don't have a sewage problem.
05:37Because a sewage system was installed.
05:40It is under the control of ASKİ, which belongs to Adana Metropolitan Municipality.
05:44This setup was done before.
05:48Thanks to the special efforts and dedication of our Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Karataş has been equipped with a sewage system, and with the biological treatment system, sewage waste is discharged into the sea cleanly.
06:01It is being discharged.
06:03We have no industrial waste, and our region is not an industrial zone.
06:06We don't have a problematic situation in that respect.
06:09But I can say this because it has received a lot of media attention.
06:14The problem exists because industrial waste, including chemical waste, is being dumped into the Ceyhan River, and public awareness has been raised about this issue.
06:29It was reported in the press.
06:31In this regard, we are also carrying out various joint studies and projects with the governorship, the Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, and universities.
06:45Various scientific studies are also being conducted on the extent of its presence, how it harms the environment, and the degree to which it negatively impacts the ecological structure.
06:57will be done.
06:57But we don't have any problems in terms of karate centers.
07:03In terms of sewage and industrial waste, the situation needs to be controlled due to the environmental impacts coming from the Ceyhan River and organized industrial zones.
07:16We think it is necessary.
07:17Mr. President, as you know, Adana is famous for its kebabs, but we're also saying that you can eat fish in Karateş.
07:28Absolutely, Karateş's fish are, in my opinion, a brand with value not only in Türkiye but also worldwide. Our fish from the sea are of a unique quality and taste, especially the jumbo ones.
07:44Our shrimp has a unique flavor.
07:46Furthermore, the delicious taste of the fish from our lagoons is well-known and recognized throughout Türkiye.
07:52Fish roe, produced from mullet in the autumn, has a geographical indication application pending.
08:00We want to obtain a registration for this.
08:02It's a highly valued and well-regarded product of ours.
08:06We are in an area where Türkiye's highest quality fish are caught and produced.
08:14Hopefully, those who are listening to us will one day come and taste our fish, which are of such high quality.
08:21As far as you know, Karateş is a unique region with both its fish and natural beauty, isn't it, Mr. President?
08:28Absolutely, the lagoons of Karateş are also among the world heritage sites that should be protected as bird sanctuaries under the Ramsar Convention.
08:41There is a great variety of wildlife, a great variety of birds.
08:44There are very valuable areas here where bird watching can be done, and nature enthusiasts can observe wildlife.
08:54Flamingos are present, and our lagoons are a resting place for various migratory birds.
09:00It is a structure that harbors a great deal of ecological diversity.
09:07We have archaeological sites, we have a historical city, we have the ancient city of Magarsus.
09:12We have 68 kilometers of sandy coastline.
09:17We have unique, unspoiled, natural beaches in Türkiye.
09:23Karateş is a very special region worth seeing for its natural features.
09:28That's wonderful. Thank you very much, Mr. President.
09:31Your last name is also Karateş. It seems you're now a local Karateş supporter, Mr. President.
09:37My family is one of the founding families of Karateş, and we have been trying to do beneficial things for our hometown since our ancestors, since our grandfathers.
09:50We are trying to contribute. We are doing everything we can for the development and progress of our organization, and so that it can achieve the recognition it deserves in Türkiye and around the world.
10:02That's wonderful. Thank you very much, Mr. President. You are a very valuable agricultural leader for the Egristiz family.
10:08You are the Mayor of Karateş Municipality. We thank you for your services and for your contribution to our program.
10:14I also convey the greetings of our Chairman, Mr. Uğur İbrahim Altay.
10:19I send my warmest regards. My respects.
10:23My regards to all listeners.
10:27We've all entered the year 2026.
10:29Happy New Year!
10:31I wish you and your family and loved ones a healthy and peaceful year.
10:34May this be a peaceful, prosperous, and happy year for our country, God willing.
