Patients to Ascension's numerous hospitals and medical facilities across the United States are reporting again and again they are not receiving proper services or correct treatment.

According to a new article by WEVV-TV (channel 44) located in Evansville, Indiana. Local attorneys announced the filing of a lawsuit against Ascension St. Vincent Evansville that claims violations of the "Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act," or EMTALA, led to the death of an 8-year-old child.

The account reads almost identical to my own experience going to an Ascension ER in Birmingham, AL. in 2018-'19. I found that when my disposition was qualified as "self pay" (no insurance or stated source of income) I did not receive adequate medical treatment and was told no injuries appeared in X-Rays and CT that show I had broken my skull (an injury I almost died from - see images in video). Furthermore, you can hear in recorded phone calls in my other videos the lengths other professional doctors will go to support this fallacy. Millionaires who went to college for 10 years to do their jobs risked their professional reputations versus correcting mistakes.

A series of talking points underpinning the modus operandi of Ascension's patient dumping procedures in these facilities may be highlighted in this latest case.

I encountered far larger issues of medical fraud and corruption in my dealings with medical staff and facilities around the Birmingham, Alabama area in recent years. I believe much of the fortunes and millions / billions of dollars in profit enjoyed by Ascension and their associates are underpinned by a mountain of wrongful dead patients who suffered at the hands of this medical provider's care. I almost did not survive multiple misdiagnoses I encountered going into their ER and attempts to have Ascension account and correct it errors were met with denials and excuses as to their responsibility. I highlight many of these, even recording phone exchanges in other videos on my Youtube Channel.

These latest charges resonate with issues I encountered as a patient in recent years. I replay My October. 13th, 2021 phone call to Ascension CEO Joseph Impicciche who's hospital oversight network includes Ascension Saint Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Between 2018-2019 I was an emergency department patient at Ascension St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I believe I had broken my neck. I had an X-Ray, 2 CT scans and later an MRI looked at by Ascension Vincent's doctors, each time they told me I had no injuries in this area. I knew their diagnosis was in error as my condition worsened. The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer 2019. I almost died. I obtained my medical records from their hospital along with the X-Ray / CT / MRI imagery and discovered the truth of my injury.

00:00All right, as always, you can go to YouTube channel My Medical Nightmare and see 40-plus
00:07hours video on everything that happened to me.
00:10All right, Ascension is now under investigation and scrutiny on a number of fronts.
00:18Ascension is, of course, one of the United States' leading non-profit and Catholic health
00:26systems.
00:26They have over 134,000 associates, 35,000 affiliated providers, and 139 hospitals under its management
00:39in 18 states.
00:42In the Birmingham, Alabama area, this includes St. Vincent's and associated hospitals such
00:48as St. Vincent's East.
00:50All right, a new news article has been published by WEVV-TV Television Channel 44 out of Evansville,
01:02Indiana, USA, dated January 18, 2023.
01:09It reads here, local attorneys announced the filing of a lawsuit, that's a federal lawsuit,
01:15against Ascension, St. Vincent, Evansville, on Wednesday, that claims violations of the
01:23Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, or EMTALA.
01:28That's E-M-T-A-L-A.
01:31This led to the death of an eight-year-old child.
01:34His name is Marco Gabriel.
01:38He died on September 22, after his parents took him to the Ascension St. Vincent Urgent
01:46Care, Epworth Crossing.
01:48He was referred to the Emergency Department at the Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Hospital.
01:55According to the lawsuit, the nurse practitioner who examined Marco at the emergency department
02:02did not communicate with urgent care to determine the extent of Marco's evaluation.
02:09It also says that no interpreter was provided to communicate with Marco's parents, who primarily
02:16speak Spanish.
02:18The lawsuit goes on to state that no doctor ever saw Marco on that visit, and that St. Vincent
02:25incorrectly indicated several times in its records that Marco had no insurance, and Marco's
02:32care was treated as self-pay.
02:35The lawsuit claims that the nurse practitioner assigned to Marco did not conduct any of the
02:42basic lab or blood tests, and also failed to do the MRI recommended by the emergency department
02:48urgent care.
02:49It says that Marco was discharged to home, and his parents were told to give him ibuprofen
02:55and Tylenol, and to seek a pediatrician for further treatment.
03:01Marco was returned to the Ascension St. Vincent Emergency Department two days later by his parents
03:07with persistent symptoms of headache, fever, vomiting, and pain, with an additional symptom
03:14of confusion.
03:15The lawsuit says, it says that labs, an MRI, a CT scan, and a lumbar puncture revealed acute
03:24multifocal encephalitis, and that Marco was started on medications.
03:30After that, Marco was taken to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville on September 21st.
03:37The lawsuit claims that treatment at Norton Children's Hospital was started too late to save
03:42Marco, and that he was pronounced dead on September 22nd.
03:45According to the lawsuit, the Ascension St. Vincent ER failed to provide Marco with an appropriate
03:51medical examination, including the MRI recommended by the St. Vincent urgent care.
03:57Quote, an appropriate medical screening examination that tested for the cause of Marco's severe
04:03headaches, fever, pain, and vomiting would have resulted in Marco getting immediate emergency care.
04:10Instead, unlike other children with the same symptoms, no such testing was done, and Marco was sent home.
04:16I was a patient at Ascension's St. Vincent's East Emergency Department in 2018 and 2019,
04:24and I was also self-pay.
04:27You can hear my own account in videos that are up there on that YouTube channel.
04:33My experience dealing with Ascension's emergency department in Alabama, almost identical to this
04:42new account in 2023.
04:46Yeah, when you go into the ER, Ascension has a procedure that they follow, and apparently this
04:54extends to all their hospitals.
04:56What happened to me was I was taken to an examination room, and somebody entered and asked me a source
05:07of income, where I worked, or how I was going to pay for my medical treatment.
05:12And when I revealed that I was self-pay, I had no job and no source of income, the entire
05:20demeanor of the individuals involved in my visit changed.
05:25I could notice body language and how I was being talked to.
05:30In my own case, I complained of neck pain and head pain.
05:36I thought I had broken bone in my neck.
05:39I was given several scans, x-ray, and CT in the Ascension emergency department.
05:46They came back and told me I had no injuries present, that I had just pulled a neck muscle.
05:51I knew that this was an error.
05:54I went and got those original images.
05:56I'll put them in this video.
05:58And as you can see for yourself, despite what I was told by nurses and doctors in St. Vincent's
06:06East and Birmingham, I had broken the underside of my skull.
06:09I almost died from the complications of this injury.
06:13But I survived.
06:15So what you can see here in this latest account is that Ascension is still dumping patients in
06:21hospitals.
06:22In this latest lawsuit, I urge you to go read the details of.
06:26It reveals something very key about the procedure that Ascension follows.
06:32Almost identical account to my own.
06:35There are others out there, I believe, who went to Ascension and their various emergency
06:42departments for treatment.
06:43They were told they had no injuries, or injuries to a lesser degree than what was the reality.
06:51And I believe there's conspiracy, negligence, and medical fraud actually occurring in these
07:00Ascension hospitals and among their doctors and nurses.
07:04They know exactly what they're doing, and they do it on purpose.
07:08Please go back and watch my videos and listen to my own experience dealing with the representatives
07:15of Ascension when I tried to get my own misdiagnosis corrected.
07:21And you can hear what they say.
07:23They would not do anything to help me.
07:26Thank you for calling Ascension.
07:28At this time, our administrative office is closed and our associates are working from home
07:33to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
07:34To leave a message in the General Delivery Mailbox, please press 2.
07:41You've reached the Ascension System Office General Mailbox.
07:44After the tone, leave a detailed message and someone will respond to your call.
07:51I'm trying to reach CEO Joseph Impechike, and he can contact me at that number.
07:58And I have a message that I would like to give to Ascension.
08:01Between 2018 and 2019, I was an emergency department patient at Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital
08:09in Birmingham, Alabama.
08:11I believe I had broken my neck.
08:13I had an x-ray, two CT scans, and later an MRI looked at by Ascension St. Vincent's doctors.
08:21Each time they had told me I had no injuries in this area, I knew their diagnosis was an error
08:27as my condition worsened.
08:29The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer of 2019.
08:34I almost died.
08:36I obtained my medical records from your hospital along with the x-ray, CT, MRI imagery, and discovered the truth
08:42of my injury.
08:43I had broken bone in the underside of my skull in the area of the condylar canal and occipital condyle.
08:49How the doctors could have missed such a large and serious injury over multiple hospital visits is inexcusable.
08:55I believe some element of organized corruption may exist in this hospital.
09:00I have compiled over 10 hours of video documentation on what happened to me on my YouTube channel.
09:07And the name of the channel is My Medical Nightmare.
09:10I believe I may have been a victim of patient dumping in the course of my seeking treatment, which is
09:17a violation of EMTALA, E-M-T-A-L-A.
09:20When I told medical staff associated with Ascension about my discovery that I had been misdiagnosed repeatedly,
09:28I was personally attacked and my psychological state was challenged.
09:32And this is reflected in medical records I obtained later.
09:36I could not obtain proper treatment or diagnosis for this injury because doctors and nurses that I would subsequently have
09:47encounters with
09:47would only entertain what the erroneous Ascension ER findings were.
09:52My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years, had the misfortune of working in an Ascension hospital.
09:58When I questioned my MRR findings involving St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network, LLC, and Dr. Michael Brandt Ruff, MD, radiologist,
10:09in March 2019.
10:11My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years and worked in the Ascension hospital, she was terminated from her
10:16job there around the same time.
10:19So this phone call, I challenge the misdiagnosis of Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama, and I challenge the
10:29policy of this hospital.
10:31And Mr. Impechike, I think you need to look into this, please.
10:35Please listen to my message, look into what I'm saying, and you're free to contact me.
