00:00I bring greetings to you all in the holy name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:07Dear brothers and sisters, I hope that you're all doing well.
00:10And I do believe by faith that this morning meditations have been so helpful for your spiritual growth.
00:17To walk with the Lord.
00:19To know the deeper things of His Word.
00:22To grow in our spiritual life.
00:24Let's pray.
00:26Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father.
00:28Father, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
00:31The creator and the sustainer of all our lives.
00:35We power our hearts and we bow down our life at the feet of your grace.
00:40Lord, this morning as we prepare our hearts for your Word.
00:44A Word that proceeded out from your mouth, it never returns back to you in vain.
00:48But it brings fruit to those who receive it.
00:51Lord, help us to receive your Word as how it is.
00:54Help us to apply it to our hearts and walk God in joy.
00:59In Jesus' name we pray.
01:01Amen.
01:02This morning, I want to ask you to turn with me to the book of Genesis chapter 19.
01:09And we're going to read from verse 26.
01:16But his wife looked back from behind and she became a pillar of soul.
01:22This morning, we're going to meditate on some few spiritual lessons that we can draw out from the pillar of soul.
01:32When God wanted to teach a lesson to His people in Proverbs chapter 6,
01:38the King Solomon said,
01:41A slugger, go to the end and learn a lesson from there.
01:43In Jeremiah chapter 18,
01:46The Lord had took prophet Jeremiah down to the parter's house
01:49and taught him a lesson right there.
01:53And the Lord had took the prophet Ezekiel,
01:58translated him into spirit and took him into the valley of dry bones
02:02and taught him a lesson right over there.
02:06So God always speaks sometimes through situations.
02:09Situations, God also sometimes speaks through us through birds, animals.
02:16And He also speaks to our hearts through the creation that He has created us.
02:22But in Genesis chapter 19 and verse 26,
02:26we find a true and a fact incident that was happened in the family of Lot.
02:33And Lot's wife turned as a pillar of soul.
02:37Lot was found a righteous man in the sight of the Lord.
02:44And the Lord had decided to draw out
02:47and bring them out of the place called Sodom,
02:53away from the great sin and the great wickedness of Sodom.
02:57And when the Lord had been leading out the family of Lot,
03:04Lot's wife, she turned back and she became a pillar of soul.
03:09The Bible never speaks about the Lot's wife.
03:14But most of the Jews' people,
03:17they believe that the Lord's wife's name was
03:22Edith and Iris.
03:25This might be their belief,
03:28which should be named as.
03:31But in Genesis chapter 19 and verse 26,
03:35we are going to draw out some four spiritual lessons
03:38that what we can learn from the pillar of salt.
03:42Number one, the pillar of salt teaches us
03:46that the Lord always leads.
03:49We serve a God who is not only a king,
03:53he is not only a church,
03:56but he is also a good guider,
03:59a good leader who can lead us always.
04:01The Lord's intention for the Lord's family
04:05as according to the Genesis chapter 13 and verse 13,
04:11the Sodomites are so wicked in the sight of the Lord
04:13and the sin was so grievous and exceedingly
04:17before it gains the sight of the Lord.
04:20And whether the Lord had decided to bring out
04:23his brimstone and fire upon the land of Sodom
04:26to destroy it and the Lord sent out the two angels
04:30unto Sodom to tell the message to the Lord's family
04:33and the Lord's family received a message from the Lord
04:38that they need to be escaped
04:39because God's anger and his wrath
04:41is going to be fall upon Sodom.
04:45Remember God's intention for every purpose,
04:48for every person on this earth
04:51that we might not be mingled up with the world
04:54and the activities that are going on up in the world.
04:58So the Lord's family,
05:01they were righteous in the presence,
05:02in the sight of the Lord,
05:03so that's the reason God does not want it
05:05to keep up the family of Lot
05:07in Sodom and Gomorrah
05:09where sin was being so grievous,
05:11exceedingly moving up upon the earth.
05:14So that's the reason the Lord
05:16is leading out of them,
05:18out of the city of Sodom.
05:20The Bible clearly says in Genesis chapter 19
05:23and verse 16.
05:25The man laid hold of his hand
05:28upon the hand of his wife
05:30and upon the hand of the two daughters
05:32and brought them out of the city.
05:36Remember, this is perfectly speaking about
05:39that the Lord is leading the family of Lot.
05:42still today that the Lord is leading you and me
05:46when we are able to submit ourselves
05:48unto the Lord and ask the Lord,
05:50Lord, lead me and guide me
05:52in your paths every single day.
05:56Because where the Bible says
05:57in Exodus chapter 13 on,
06:01that the Lord had leaded up
06:02the people of Israel
06:03in the wilderness
06:05as a pillar of cloud in the morning
06:08and a pillar of fire in the night.
06:12And Psalm chapter 48 and verse 14
06:14says that the Lord is able to lead you
06:17even unto the death.
06:19He is able to lead us
06:21the moment that we end up our life
06:23on this earth.
06:26Isaiah chapter 49 and verse 10,
06:28the Bible says that the Lord
06:29will lead us to the springs of water.
06:31Revelation chapter 7 and verse 17,
06:35He always leads us
06:36to the springs of eternal life.
06:40We serve a God who always leads us.
06:44This morning,
06:45if you give up yourselves
06:46into your own hands
06:48and you are leading up your own life
06:50and your own life
06:52and your path
06:53will always lead you to destruction.
06:55But if you give up yourself,
06:57your life into the hands of God,
06:59He will always lead you
07:00in His righteousness path.
07:02So let's all commit ourselves
07:04into God's hands
07:05as the Lord to lead us every day.
07:08The second lesson
07:09that the pillar of Saul teaches us
07:11about don't look back.
07:14You know, this is a great commandment
07:16that the Lord had given
07:17up to Lord's family.
07:19When you are coming out of the city,
07:22you should never turn back.
07:24You know what is a sin?
07:27The sin which means
07:29not doing the things
07:30that which God has told us to do
07:32is not doing that.
07:33It is sin.
07:36And sin also,
07:37which means doing that
07:38what God has told not to do
07:41is also doing sin.
07:44So this couple,
07:45they came out of the land of Sodom,
07:49but Lot's wife,
07:50she turned back
07:51and she became a pillar of Saul.
07:54There's a perfect lesson
07:55for our Christian life today.
07:57when you are being saved,
07:58when you are being born again,
07:59when you are being called
08:00as a child of Jesus Christ,
08:02never turn back to the world
08:05in your spiritual and faithful life.
08:11Because Paul says in Philippians chapter 3,
08:14I do only one thing,
08:16forgetting those things
08:17which are behind
08:18and moving on to the four
08:19that which are before in my life.
08:22In our Christian faith,
08:23we need to leave
08:24all the things behind,
08:26just we need to move on forward
08:27in our spiritual life.
08:30The Bible says in the Gospel of Luke,
08:32chapter 9,
08:34verse 62,
08:36Jesus speaks to his disciples
08:38and said,
08:38He that layeth up his hand
08:40upon the plough
08:41and he that turneth back
08:42is not fit for the kingdom of God.
08:46So we should never turn back
08:48in our life
08:49of the things that
08:50what we have come across.
08:53Keep up your faith
08:54in Jesus Christ
08:55on your spiritual life.
08:57He's able to do it.
08:58He's able to perform it,
09:00everything in your life
09:01that hath called you.
09:04And the third spiritual lesson is
09:06the disobedience
09:07from the pillar of Saul.
09:10You know,
09:11the greatest,
09:12always the disobedience
09:13leads to the greatest trials
09:15of in our life.
09:17Saul,
09:19who is the king
09:19of the first king
09:20of the people
09:21of the congregation,
09:22the nation of Israel,
09:24he disobeyed
09:25to the commandment
09:26of the Lord
09:26in giving up the sacrifices
09:29and in killing up
09:31all the things
09:32of the belonging
09:35to the Amalekites.
09:37When he hath done this,
09:39and the Bible says
09:40that the anger
09:41of the Lord
09:41came to look upon
09:42the king Saul,
09:44and also it speaks
09:45that the Lord
09:46had dishonored
09:47the king Saul
09:48and took him away
09:48from his throne
09:49because he had
09:52completely disobeyed
09:53the voice
09:53and the commandment
09:54of the Lord.
09:57This Lot's wife,
09:59she also received
10:00the commandment
10:01from the Lord.
10:02I don't know
10:02what happened
10:03on that day,
10:04but she turned back.
10:05when the brimstone
10:06and fire
10:07came up
10:07from the Lord
10:08and the wrath
10:09of God
10:09came to look
10:10upon the land
10:10of Sodom.
10:12She turned back
10:13and she became
10:14a pillar of salt.
10:16Remember in the Bible,
10:18the salt is a sign
10:19of witness.
10:20The salt is a sign
10:22of preservation.
10:24The salt is also
10:25used in making
10:26of the covenant.
10:28But the right thing
10:29here is,
10:30this salt
10:31has not been preserved.
10:32is not good
10:34for food.
10:34It's not good
10:35for preservation.
10:36It's not making
10:37up a covenance
10:39between two persons.
10:41This is a salt
10:42which has not
10:42been useful
10:43for any kind
10:44of people.
10:45She became
10:46a pillar of salt
10:47because of her
10:48disobedience.
10:49The fourth
10:50spiritual lesson
10:51from pillar of salt
10:52is disbelief.
10:54She had no faith
10:55in God
10:56because when she
10:57had turned
10:58the way back,
10:59it proves
11:00that she had
11:00no faith
11:01in God.
11:03This morning,
11:04dear brothers
11:04and sisters,
11:06keep up your faith
11:07in your God.
11:09Never turn back.
11:10Maybe this Christ,
11:11whatever the crisis
11:12that you go through
11:12in your life,
11:14never turn back.
11:15Keep your faith
11:15on God
11:16and trust in Him
11:17and move in
11:18your spiritual life.
11:19Don't turn back.
11:20Don't turn back.
11:22Don't have disbelief
11:23in your life.
11:25There's a person
11:25who was called
11:26as a disciple
11:27of Jesus Christ.
11:28That is Simon Peter.
11:30After Jesus
11:31rose up from the dead
11:32and Jesus appeared
11:32to His disciples
11:33and all the disciples
11:37believed Jesus Christ
11:38is Lord
11:38and been risen
11:39from the dead
11:40and don't think
11:41what was happening
11:42right in this passage.
11:44Then Simon Peter
11:46said,
11:46no,
11:47we cannot do it.
11:48I don't believe
11:49that Jesus Christ
11:50rose up from the dead
11:51unless I keep
11:53and place up my finger
11:54and trust my finger
11:55in His arms.
11:57And Jesus said
11:58to Simon Peter,
12:00blessed are the ones
12:02who have believed
12:03that you have not seen.
12:06You said that
12:07you will be
12:09believing
12:10when you see,
12:12when you place up
12:13your finger in my hands.
12:15But I tell you,
12:15blessed are those
12:16who have not seen.
12:18Today,
12:19if we have a faith
12:20to things that we have
12:21not seen
12:22and we will be great
12:24in the Lord's sight.
12:26The fourth
12:27spiritual lesson
12:28that we can draw
12:28out from this
12:29pillar of salt
12:30of lots of life,
12:32it teaches us
12:33about disbelief.
12:35We should never
12:36to have the disbelief
12:37in our Christian faith.
12:40So let's all
12:41apply these
12:42four spiritual lessons
12:43and walk
12:44according to His words.
12:45Let's not be like this.
12:48The first one,
12:49the Lord
12:50will always lead us.
12:51The second
12:52spiritual lesson,
12:54you should never
12:54look back.
12:56And the third
12:56spiritual lesson
12:57is the disobedience.
12:59Don't disobey
13:00to God's command.
13:02And the fourth lesson,
13:03don't have disbelief
13:04on the Lord.
13:06Let's pray.
13:07Heavenly Father,
13:08we thank you
13:08for the word
13:09that you placed
13:10before our hearts today.
13:12Thank you
13:13for speaking
13:13to our life
13:14from the life
13:15of Lord's wife.
13:16Lord,
13:17help us not
13:18to be turning
13:18our back
13:19away from you.
13:22Help us to move
13:23on in our spiritual life,
13:24bringing praise
13:25and honor to your God
13:26as long as we live
13:28on this earth.
13:29Lord,
13:30we praise and honor
13:31your glorious name
13:32today.
13:33We give all our self,
13:34Father.
13:35Take away
13:35the disobedience.
13:37Take away
13:37the attitude
13:38of disbelief.
13:40Lord,
13:41help us to understand
13:42that you always
13:44leads us.
13:44When you always
13:45leads us,
13:45help us not
13:46to turn back,
13:47Father.
13:48Help us to cling
13:49on to you
13:49and move
13:50in our spiritual faith.
13:52We bless each
13:53and every person
13:53who have heard
13:54your word today.
13:55Meet all the needs
13:56of your people.
13:57Answer all the prayers
13:58of your people today.
13:59Bless each one
14:00of our life
14:01and all our families
14:02we submit to you.
14:03We pray that you
14:04will heal our land
14:05today, God,
14:06that you will bring
14:07a great deliverance
14:08in our land
14:08and, Lord,
14:09bring a great restoration
14:11what we have lost.
14:12Pray for all
14:13your children
14:14that you will
14:15protect them
14:16under your safest wings
14:17and lead each one
14:18of us.
14:18In Jesus' name
