00:00Praise the Lord.
00:01I greet you all in the massless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
00:06The Bible says,
00:09The mountains may be moved,
00:12and the earth shall be shaken,
00:14but the grace of the Lord shall abide forever.
00:18The Lord has given us this great and wonderful day
00:22that we all might remember what God has done
00:25for the past night
00:27to thank Him on this beautiful morning.
00:31Let's all bow down our heads and look to the Lord in prayer.
00:36Our loving Heavenly Father,
00:39our gracious Lord,
00:42and our Savior, our Redeemer,
00:45we come before your throne of grace.
00:49We thank you for the price of salvation and the love
00:53that you have poured for us and shown for us
00:56on the cross of Calvary.
00:59Dear Lord,
01:01this morning as we prepare our hearts
01:04for your word,
01:06your word gives us life in the times of comfort,
01:09in the time of distress.
01:11You know the needs of your people.
01:14We pray that you will speak to each one of us,
01:18give your word for us,
01:21and will lead us into your heavenly coming.
01:24In Jesus' most holy name we ask and we pray.
01:28Amen.
01:30This morning, if you have your Bible with me,
01:34turn with me to the Gospel of Luke chapter 22,
01:38verse 48.
01:41As we have entered into the holy week,
01:44and this morning we are going to study on the life
01:48of Judas
01:49and the treachery of Judas.
01:52Luke 22 and verse 48.
01:55But Jesus said unto him,
01:58Judas betrayest thou the Son of Man
02:00with a kiss.
02:05Two thousand years ago back,
02:06Jesus chose the twelve disciples,
02:10and among the twelve disciples,
02:12one disciple,
02:13that's the Judas Iscariot,
02:15has betrayed Jesus Christ
02:17just with a kiss.
02:21Kiss in the first century of Israel.
02:25Kiss is not related to the romantic of love,
02:29but it is related to greet a person,
02:33showing our deep respect to them,
02:36and honoring a person,
02:38and showing our brotherly love.
02:42Judas came to Jesus Christ.
02:45He just gave a kiss to him
02:47and betrayed Jesus Christ.
02:50That's what in Proverbs chapter 26,
02:56chapter 27 and verse 6.
03:00Well, King Solomon, he said this way,
03:04The hatred one
03:05will give many kisses.
03:09The enemy will give many kisses.
03:13Judas became the enemy of Jesus Christ.
03:16He just kissed Jesus Christ
03:18and had betrayed him.
03:22This morning,
03:24we're going to talk on the life of Judas Iscariot
03:26and his characteristics.
03:30The word Judas means praise.
03:34Judas has been created by God
03:37with a purpose to praise God.
03:41but he was lost his intention in his life
03:45and stepped on forward
03:48for the sake of money
03:49of 30 pieces of silver.
03:52He betrayed the Lord Jesus Christ.
03:55There are 12 disciples that Jesus Christ has chosen
03:59and among the 12 disciples,
04:0111 disciples are from the place of Galilee.
04:05But only one disciple,
04:06that is Judas Iscariot,
04:08is from the place of Iscariot.
04:10That is why he is called as Judas the Iscariot.
04:16There are three qualifications
04:18and characteristics
04:20that we find
04:22in the life of Judas Iscariot.
04:26Turn with me to the gospel of John chapter 6
04:28and verse 64.
04:32But there are some of you
04:34that believe not.
04:38Number one,
04:39the first characteristic of Judas Iscariot is
04:42he was a man of unbelief,
04:46a man of no faith.
04:49Judas became a follower of Jesus Christ,
04:53but he had not have faith on Jesus Christ.
04:58He became a follower of Jesus Christ.
05:01He heard the teachings of Jesus Christ.
05:03He has seen the miracles
05:07which was being performed by Jesus Christ.
05:10He walked with Jesus Christ
05:12and had a very fellowship,
05:15a dearest relationship with Jesus Christ,
05:18but not lived a faithful life
05:22in Jesus Christ.
05:25You know, the Bible says
05:26when Jesus took up the five loaves
05:28and two fishes and blessed it
05:29and gave to the 5,000 of people.
05:32But before them,
05:33he gave to the 12 disciples
05:34to distribute them
05:35to the 5,000 of people.
05:38And Judas was also one of them
05:40who had distributed.
05:43And Judas was also one of the person
05:46who was in a ship
05:47when Jesus calmed the storm.
05:50Judas was also one of the person
05:52when Jesus had raised the Lazarus
05:55from the death.
05:57Judas was with Jesus Christ
05:59at every point of his time.
06:01He was just a follower
06:03but not a faithful man
06:05in Jesus Christ,
06:07on Jesus.
06:08No faith in him.
06:09No faith in him.
06:11Maybe this morning
06:12as you're listening this sermon,
06:13friends,
06:14maybe you might be
06:16predicting yourself,
06:17you're calling yourself,
06:18I'm a follower of Jesus Christ.
06:21Jesus is asking us a question
06:23whether you have faith in me or not.
06:26Because the Bible says
06:27in the pestle of Hebrews chapter 11,
06:29without faith,
06:30we cannot please God.
06:33You can be a follower of Jesus Christ
06:34but you need to have faith
06:36in Jesus Christ.
06:39Judas was a follower
06:40but his heart was not committed
06:42with God.
06:44He was not a faithful man.
06:47Jesus was talking to his 12 disciples
06:50and said,
06:51you 12 disciples,
06:53you're all faithful people
06:54but there is a one
06:55who will betray me.
06:56He's an unfaithful man.
06:59A man who never believes
07:00in his heart.
07:03So the first characteristics
07:05of Judas is
07:06he was an unfaithful man.
07:08He was a man of unbelief.
07:10The second character
07:12of Judas Iscariot
07:13we find in the Gospel of John
07:15chapter 12.
07:17When Jesus was in a house,
07:20there was a woman
07:21who had bought
07:22a pound of fondament
07:23of spite knot
07:24which was very costly.
07:26She broke down the bottle
07:27and she anointed
07:28the feet of Jesus Christ.
07:30And the Bible says
07:31it was about 300 of pence.
07:34Now Judas Iscariot
07:35was there
07:36and he said,
07:37why do you waste up the money?
07:41You can give that money
07:42and that will be useful
07:43for the poor people.
07:46People who never had
07:47in their life.
07:48Not just because
07:49he careth for
07:50the poor
07:52but he had a back.
07:55The second character
07:56of Judas Iscariot
07:57is a man of
07:58covetousness.
07:59is a man of thief.
08:01A man who had
08:02loved the money.
08:05Instead of loving
08:06the Lord,
08:07he had loved the money.
08:08So that's the reason
08:09he chose
08:11to betray Jesus Christ
08:13and he chose
08:14to sell Jesus Christ
08:15for the 30 pieces
08:16of silver.
08:17He took the money
08:19of 30 pieces of silver
08:20by his hand.
08:22This morning,
08:23brothers and sisters,
08:24don't love
08:25the money.
08:26when you love God,
08:28God will provide
08:28all the needs
08:29of your life.
08:31Maybe if you are
08:32a servant of God
08:32who are listening
08:33this morning's sermon,
08:34you love the Lord.
08:36There are often times
08:37we forget our ministry
08:38and we love the money.
08:40Let us all love God
08:41and love our ministry
08:42and God will provide
08:43all the needs
08:44of our lives
08:45and all the needs
08:46of our ministry.
08:51If you are a believer,
08:52friends,
08:53you love the Lord,
08:54not the money
08:55because you cannot
08:56serve God
08:58and money
08:59at the same time
09:00and man at the same time.
09:02When you love God
09:03and when you serve God,
09:04God will take care
09:05of all your needs
09:06in your life.
09:08There was a person
09:10in the Bible
09:10who had loved the money
09:11and the materials
09:12and the treasures
09:13and the gifts
09:14and the gold
09:14that which Naaman
09:15had promised
09:16to give to the prophet.
09:17That's a Gehazi
09:18has ran after
09:19the chariots of Naaman.
09:21He had brought everything
09:23but he also brought
09:24the leprosy
09:25that which Naaman
09:26had left
09:26on that time.
09:29Let us not run
09:30after the treasures
09:31or not after the money.
09:34Let us all run
09:35after God
09:35and God will meet
09:37all our needs
09:38in all our daily life.
09:40And the third thing is
09:42Judas
09:44has given
09:45a way
09:46to Satan
09:47in his life.
09:50Remember
09:51he has given
09:52a way
09:53to Satan.
09:54He did not
09:56give a place
09:56to God
09:57but rather than that
09:58he gave a place
09:59to Satan.
10:00That's why
10:01he had did
10:02this work.
10:03This morning friends
10:05for what
10:05of the things
10:06that you have been
10:06giving a place
10:07in your life?
10:08Have you given
10:09a place to God
10:10or have you been
10:11given a place
10:12to the things
10:13of the world
10:13and the lust
10:14of the world
10:14or to the devil
10:15and Satan
10:15in your life?
10:17And it's
10:19tactics.
10:22Because in the
10:23James epistle
10:24the Bible says
10:27you submit yourself
10:28and resist the devil
10:29and the devil
10:30will flee from you.
10:32But most of us
10:33we are not able
10:34to resist the devil
10:35but we are not
10:36because of what
10:37we have not been
10:37submitting ourselves
10:38to the will
10:39of the Lord.
10:41Let us all
10:41submit ourselves
10:42to the Lord
10:44and the Lord
10:44will hear
10:45all our prayers
10:46and give us
10:47the strength
10:48to overcome
10:48the Satan
10:50and its powers
10:51in all our lives.
10:54He gave a place
10:55to Satan
10:56rather than
10:57to a Savior.
11:00That is why
11:01Judas had
11:02loved the money.
11:04He took
11:04the 30 pieces
11:05of silver.
11:07He kissed
11:08Jesus Christ
11:09and he threw
11:10the 30 pieces
11:11of silver
11:11repented
11:12for what
11:12he has done
11:13and went
11:14out
11:14and hanged
11:15himself
11:15and passed
11:16away.
11:17You know
11:17what Jesus
11:18said about
11:18Judas Iscariot?
11:19It would be
11:20better
11:20if Judas
11:22Iscariot
11:23would not
11:23have been
11:23born.
11:26God has
11:27given us
11:27a beautiful
11:28and precious
11:28life
11:29that we all
11:29can praise
11:30God.
11:32let us
11:33all not
11:33live up
11:34to the
11:34life of
11:35like
11:35Judas Iscariot.
11:37Let us
11:38not all
11:39have
11:39unbelief.
11:41Let us
11:42not all
11:43have the
11:44covetousness
11:44and character
11:45of a thief.
11:46Let us
11:46not all
11:47have the
11:52give the
11:53place to
11:53Satan
11:54in all
11:54our lives.
11:55Let us
11:56all give
11:57our first
11:57place to
11:58God
11:58and
11:59God
11:59in each
12:00day of
12:00all our
12:01lives
12:01and into
12:03our
12:03heart.
12:04Let us
12:05all live
12:05a life
12:06that which
12:06God is
12:06well pleased
12:08and where
12:09God has
12:09been glorified
12:10through you
12:11and through
12:11me in
12:12all our
12:12lives.
12:13Let's

12:27the money

12:29behaved

12:30unfaith.
12:31Kindly
12:32forgive us
12:33help us

12:34be like
12:34Judas Iscariot.
12:36Help us
12:37to understand
12:38the value
12:39of all
12:39our lives
12:40to praise
12:41you God
12:41from the
12:42bottom
12:42of our
12:42hearts.
12:43We
12:44praise you
12:44for the
12:44word that
12:45you have
12:45given to
12:46us today.
