00:10so what was his motivation behind the initiative power in the field well my motivation behind this
00:16competition is um being a past athlete myself and knowing how competitions used to run and seeing
00:23the state that the track and free fraternity is in right now where me are concerned i just wanted
00:30to put on something so the younger athletes can have a opportunity to compete and have that
00:35competitive edge so if they are ready to go out on the national stage they are ready however it's not
00:41just about the athletes as he also did it in honor of his parents this have been in the works for
00:46a little bit under a year um now um the foundation was registered in no a little bit over a year the
00:55foundation was registered in september of 2024 um as a tribute to my parents who both passed away when
01:01i was younger my mom passed away in 2014 and my dad in 2019 so this was just a tribute to them um
01:09to do things right my mom was my number one supporter and i always wanted to give back to
01:14the sporting fraternity and no better way to do it than to do it in my mother's after a full day of
01:21competition he indicated that he was satisfied with the efforts by the athletes well i think the
01:26standard is good i think that the track and field fraternity the field events specifically we have um
01:32some good upcoming athletes um there was a girl in the high jump under i think it's under 20 she she
01:38she made the character stand so we are seeing the progress of the youngsters um coming out um and
01:45this is just another opportunity for them to get the meat in under the legs because we have the character
01:50trials upcoming at the end of february so why did right not take a jump in the sand for his own event
01:56has he chosen to walk away from the sport the 28 year old indicated he's still recovering from injury
02:02and is contemplating his future in the sport olympics didn't go my way but in 2023 i was
02:08competing outside in miami and i actually got a a gruesome injury where i land on my arm and dislocated
02:16my shoulder um tearing the muscle of the bone damaging all the nerves so it has been a healing
