00:00Queen's Hall was read and ready last evening as the People's National Movement celebrated
00:1170 years of political legacy and stewardship from Dr. Eric Williams to George Chambers
00:17to Patrick Manning and Dr. Keith Rowley.
00:20Four political leaders, four different styles, one movement, one continuous line of service
00:31to Trinidad and Tobago.
00:32I stand here tonight not in competition with that history, but in continuity with it.
00:39And each of those four PNM political leaders went on to become the Prime Minister of our country.
00:52But history would be incomplete if we did not acknowledge the fact that thus far the PNM
00:58has given Trinidad and Tobago five Prime Ministers.
01:02Dr. Eric Williams, George Michael Chambers, Patrick Augustus Mervyn Manning, Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley
01:12and the Honourable Stuart Richard Young.
01:17Speakers at the event noted that the PNM's 70-year milestone is more than just a celebration,
01:24but rather a testament to the party's role in national development.
01:29Education, health, development of this country, we have built the Hall of Justice,
01:35we have built the Twin Towers, we have built the waterfront.
01:39You know what they're going to give you? A prison.
01:42That is what I saw in their manifesto.
01:45Their gift to this country will be a prison, because that is how they think.
01:51PNM General Secretary Foster Cummings also highlighted the PNM's contribution
01:56to youth development over the years.
01:59It was the PNM who created YTEP, MIC, NESC, COSTAP, and more.
02:05That is PNM policy.
02:09In recent times, however, ladies and gentlemen,
02:13they offer you, the UNC government offers you,
02:16offers you zones of special operations.
02:19The only thing the UNC has for the young people of this country is state of emergency,
02:27zone of special operations, lock-up, and jail.
02:32The PNM holds out to you zones of opportunity, ladies and gentlemen.
02:39The PNM is promising a strong comeback at the local, national, and THA levels.
02:45Over the last 70 years, the PNM has contested and defeated well over 50 political parties.
02:57DLP, PPOG, WFP, ULF, DAC, ONR, NAR, COP, NNV, PEP, NTA, and many more.
03:08Many have come, and many have gone.
03:12As we speak here today, Kamala Pusad Pusad Pusad is busy destroying the legacy of Bas de Upande
03:20and busy establishing her place in our history as the worst prime minister of all times.
03:27Over 70 years, the PNM has given Trinidad and Tobago five prime ministers,
03:33and in the not-too-distant future, I will be the sixth prime minister to leave this country.
