00:00hey guys welcome back to enterprises once again this is your host and in today's video i'm going
00:08to be doing another movie review okay now this one but i gotta say this one really ain't it guys
00:18all right but let me start by saying this is definitely not the godfather all right folks
00:25see you see that the storyline here is where you have a time skip in the literal sense not just in
00:35the story sense because it's been 16 years since you know the godfather part 2 came out and wowed
00:42everyone right yeah so not only the actors are older in the storyline right you know taking place
00:52amir's after the previous instruments but they're also older in real life right the story is also
00:58being passed on to the younger newer characters taking the spotlight but not completely right
01:06you still have the og michael colio in the center of this obscure fast plot that loosely revolves around
01:15the assassination of the poop in 1978 and the papal banking scandal of 1981 which were real events
01:25events that took place way after you know these books were written in you know the 50s and such and the 60s
01:37right so they kind of like doing the best way to say is that they're pretty much doing like an
01:44aspel for the story right trying to pull in these main events so you can get stuff to fill in the one
01:49time in the plot right but the main thing here at the center is still michael colio's family business
01:57and you know vincent right is a comer taking the reins as the new dawn except with the way this story is
02:09told it comes off convoluted and it sucks ass there's a lot of good shit here in the story
02:18land to be honest the whole michael stepping down as the dawn i know his younger guy taking over and all
02:25this stuff that follows it it's really significant here right you know his little head is done like
02:32the center of the coleon family basically you know passing their torch but yeah it feels like an
02:39afterthought with the way the story unfolds it all feels insignificant and it sucks because this is
02:46fallen quite possibly one of the most significant sequels in cinematic history right it is 16 years after
02:57the part two and you see a lot of different stuff here you know these new characters they're coming in
03:04you also see coppola's daughter here as well and more on that in a second but you you see all this stuff
03:15right and you know they have the center of it is you know vincent taking over the family business
03:21and coleon looking to you know to wrap up his arc in a sense all right like he's basically here
03:30michael colion is basically what vito coleon was in the the first movie right you know vito coleon he
03:35got old and he was like and that kind of stuff that is basically michael colion's position he's the veto
03:42here now passing away in hunter vincent except with the way the stories are folded it feels insignificant
03:49because you have this other stuff going on here you know the banking scandal and the assassination of
03:54the pope i i feel like this the stories in this that whatever coppola's trying to do
04:04he should have cut it down like the the whole the whole stuff with the the assassination of the pope
04:17and the banking scandal he should have at least taken one out of those two things because it felt like
04:24all the stuff that was going on it ended up overshadowing the whole vincent coming up
04:31taking the reins that kind of stuff and also the way the story was told too it didn't felt like it
04:39was an earned and honest passing of the torch even though they did took their time working their way
04:46up into it it felt like it was unearned i think a lot of it has to do with vincent's character the
04:53character's written to be like you know uh a hothead he's very um eager to do stuff he always gets
05:02himself in trouble you know he's he's not like michael colion a guy who's still a bit of a hothead but
05:11he's more calculated he's more sinister you know he's he's more focused right vincent doesn't seem like
05:21like that like he doesn't have that kind of like f to him as the way he can actually you know
05:27be a leader right like you know when you had veto and you had uh michael colin right these guys and
05:34the people who played them well played them very well they play them convincingly when you saw michael in
05:40the movie you know he was he means business when you saw veto in the movie you know he meant business right
05:48they commanded their presence in the movie but here the guy who played vincent
05:56even though he did got the position of the dawn
05:59he still felt like a side character that was you know he still felt like a henchman
06:07and i think a lot of it is because of his personality and i will admit though throughout the movie they did
06:12try to make the effort of him you know changing his ways as he becomes a dawn you know he has to give
06:19up on uh going after the girl and all that other stuff right so they do have them like some sort of
06:26arc where he tries to you know become more mature but it still didn't felt like it was there and it all
06:34goes back to what i was saying you know there's a plot going back and forward you know this passing
06:41of the torch and then all this other stuff that's going on and it's funny because when you compare
06:48to the part one and part two godfathers those films also had a lot going on in them aside in addition to
06:55the the coleon family business right but what happened in those movies is that they were much more
07:02better at integrating all those stuff together to form a more you know complete structured story
07:13this movie was not good at doing that and i felt like this
07:18for this for this to have worked they should have made it into two movies you know go properly build
07:28up vincent so it would be like a much more rewarding payoff in a sense because even even the second
07:37godfather had this problem right you know that it was going through two different timelines focusing on
07:44um coleon's family the rise of the family and then the fall of the family that kind of stuff
07:52and i still had my gripes about the movie doing that but that movie still managed to make that flow
07:57well right the only downside that movie had was that it was too long but it made it work this movie
08:04the third movie that showed promise but it overall fell flat and you know it's execution
08:15it's really disappointing you know because like i said 16 years after um power two came out right
08:21this movie has more up-to-date technology in it it had a bigger budget right it had more support
08:27it had all the good work from the previous installments and you can even see it on the big screen you can see it on display right
08:36the cinematography the set pieces the lighting is all more higher quality and yet it doesn't even look or feel
08:47like the previous one in fact the part one on power two actually looks better like the the only thing i can say
08:59that this third installment has that's above the previous installments is that it's a shorter run time
09:10although it's not by much you know i think like 20 minutes shorter but that's the only thing it has
09:19outside that in like every other category virtually almost every other category this movie is below the
09:26previous two and it's below it by a lot not just a little bit it's a lot lower than the previous two
09:35all right guys so overall to sum it up you know i've been thinking about this one for quite a bit
09:47i would have to give this movie a 6.8 ish out of 10 or so yeah i was thinking i would give it a 7
09:58but i let it mine it a little bit more and i realized this isn't a movie that i would really
10:07watch a second or a third time i must say you know unlike the previous call status watch i wouldn't
10:13mind watching those again this movie doesn't have that factor for me like you know it doesn't have that
10:20um before me to actually seek it out again and like i said you know it's the only positive i can think
10:29of this is a shorter movie so there's not really much else positive i can really say here right so a 6.8
10:41yeah that's still very generous for this movie in all honesty when i'm thinking about it because
10:47even though all stuff i said it's worse than the previous two it's not bad you know it's just that
10:55the the first and the second godfather was just that good you know that the bar was just so damn high
11:03that this movie in some ways it had a very high expectation to match and it could have matched but
11:11it just didn't manage to reach so that's why i would say it's 6.7 6.8 ish not a fair movie not a terrible
11:21movie just not a good movie right it's like a around the middle of the road movie with some positives here
11:30so yeah that's pretty much my review here for the godfather part 3 guys um disappointing movie
