00:16She was pronounced dead at the Arima Hospital.

00:24Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body beneath a bridge
00:28near the Eddie Hart Grounds in Taquerigua on Wednesday morning.
00:32Officers on patrol along the priority bus route were alerted to the body around 11 a.m.
00:37The body bore multiple chop wounds and was located beneath a bridge spanning the bus route,
00:42close to a Water and Sewage Authority, Maine.
00:45Authorities described the victim as a dark-skinned woman of African descent.
00:50She appeared to be in her mid-20s to early 30s.
00:53Police said she was often seen in the area with other individuals, some of whom were homeless.
00:57Police also are appealing to anyone with information about the woman's identity
01:02or the circumstances surrounding her death to contact the Toonapuna Police Station at 645-7573.
01:11An attempted prison escape was quickly thwarted on Wednesday morning at the Port of Spain prison.
01:17The prison service says inmate Travis Curtis escaped lawful custody around 10 a.m.
01:23after scaling the western perimeter wall along Pembroke Street.
01:27Officers attached to the Port of Spain prison, working alongside the Emergency Response Unit,
01:32launched an immediate search operation.
01:35Curtis was recaptured just 18 minutes later in the vicinity of Abercrombie Street in Port of Spain.
01:41Police are now investigating the incident to determine whether additional charges will be laid
01:46for escaping lawful custody.
01:47The police service has commended the officers involved for their swift response and professionalism
01:53and thanked members of the public for their cooperation during the incident.
01:58A 41-year-old man is expected to appear in court tomorrow charged with manslaughter following the death of his father.
02:05According to reports, 63-year-old Ramesh Laud-Bihari was assaulted on New Year's Day and died at hospital on January 6.
02:12Following consultation held with the Deputy DPP, Sabrina Jaglal, today,
02:17advice was given to the officers to charge the accused with the offence of manslaughter.
02:22He is scheduled to appear virtually at the South Court B on Thursday.
