00:07a roadway in South Oropuch on Thursday.
00:09According to police, around 12.30 p.m. yesterday, a 23-year-old Spanish national of St. Mary's village, South
00:16Oropuch,
00:17accompanied by a 47-year-old man of the same area, arrived at the Oropuch police station with the newborn
00:23baby.
00:24The woman reported that around 12.15 p.m., she was walking along St. Mary's Road in the vicinity of
00:31South Oropuch Government Primary School
00:33when she observed a cardboard box at the side of the roadway and heard the sound of a baby crying.
00:39Upon checking the box, she discovered a newborn baby girl inside of a black plastic bag wrapped in a blanket
00:44with the umbilical cord still attached.
00:46She immediately took possession of the infant and went to the home of the man.
00:51They then carried the baby to the Oropuch police station.
00:54The infant was subsequently taken for a medical assessment and treatment.
00:59The mother of the infant has since been identified and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the
