16 October - National Morning Forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning which is cloudy for
00:04most. We are seeing a little rain across Shetland as well as Orkney and that will slide down
00:08towards Caithness as well as Aberdeenshire through the morning. At the same time this
00:12brisk breeze towards the far south east delivering one or two drizzly showers, a bit damp across
00:16the Western Isles, the far north of Northern Ireland. Some brighter breaks arriving during
00:21the morning once that mist and fog lifts but for most of the country it's a cloudy day,
00:27mostly dry. The odd spot or two drizzly can't be ruled out particularly across the Pennines
00:31as well as the Welsh hills, the Mourn Mountains say in Northern Ireland. Temperatures then
00:3612 to 16 degrees Celsius. Now through this evening and overnight we continue with that cloudy theme
00:42and again a little damp in places and that will lead into a cloudy day. On Friday winds remain
00:47light so not a lot of change. The weather is fairly blocked at the moment but there is a change coming
00:53our way. It's moving in through Saturday and into Sunday as high pressure drifts from central and
01:00eastern areas of the UK towards Denmark and the near continent. As it does so on Saturday notice
01:06what's happening behind me. Low pressure sits across the Atlantic spewing cloud and also outbreaks of
01:13rain through Saturday and into Sunday. So mostly dry day on Saturday but it turns wet from the west.
01:18The rain could pep up actually through Sunday daytime and with that shower ahead of it and some showers
01:24behind it as well. So some wet and windy weather coming our way through the weekend. Before that though
01:29it's a lot of clouds and quiet particularly through today and into tomorrow. I'll see you later.
