00:00Wow!
00:01It's an Argentine pre-war round four grand.
00:04So that's a pretty rare poster then.
00:05Yeah, very rare.
00:06I'm thinking this could be the big ticket item
00:08that me and Frankie need on this trip.
00:10That way!
00:12Bicycle heaven.
00:13Oh, Frankie!
00:15Ha ha ha ha!
00:17You all even holdin' out on me?
00:19The Smith motor wheel?
00:21In the teens, this was like an economical way
00:23to put a motor on your bicycle.
00:25I am head over heels in love with this thing.
00:30There you go, fellas.
00:31Oh, okay.
00:32It's a 31 Model A Roadster.
00:34The last time I bought a car, I've lost some money.
00:36Hopefully, I'll be able to redeem myself.
00:38I love it.
00:40I'm Mike Wolfe.
00:41And I'm Frank Fretz.
00:43And we're Pickers.
00:45We travel the back roads of America
00:47looking for rusty gold.
00:49We're looking for amazing things buried
00:51in people's garages and barns.
00:54What most people see as junk,
00:57we see as dollar signs.
00:59We'll buy anything we think we can make a buck on.
01:03Each item we pick has a history all its own.
01:07And the people we meet, well, they're a breed all their own.
01:13We make a living telling the history of America
01:16one piece at a time.
01:18A lot of people think Picken is all about the countryside,
01:28all about barns.
01:29It's about where you are, man.
01:31When we're in an urban area, it's perfect
01:33because there's lots of garages, a lot of old warehouses.
01:36Detroit's an amazing town.
01:38We're going to dig down deep and see what we can find.
01:40Let's see here, I got a call coming in.
01:42It's Danny D, Danny Diesel.
01:44Yeah, hello.
01:45Hey, how are you doing?
01:46What's going on, girl?
01:48I have a pretty sweet meet for you here.
01:48I have a pretty sweet meet for you here.
01:49His name is Joel Landy.
01:50Uh-huh.
01:51He's kind of like the town do-gooder of Detroit.
01:54He's got like 50 properties.
01:55Okay.
01:56He bought them to renovate them and revitalize the community.
01:58Oh, that sounds cool.
02:01He has a huge warehouse there, too.
02:0350,000 square feet.
02:04Oh, my God.
02:05He says there's piles of cars and car farms and equipment.
02:09Sounds like our kind of guy.
02:11Send us the coordinates, honey.
02:12Okay, awesome.
02:13Bye.
02:14Bye.
02:14Well, that sounds cool.
02:16It's voter city, baby, and the guy's got transportation stuff.
02:21All right, here it is.
02:22This must be the place.
02:22All right.
02:23So Frank and I roll up to Joel's, and this place is huge.
02:26Look at the gate around this.
02:27Size of this place, dude.
02:29This is a picker's dream.
02:30I'm in Motor City.
02:31I'm in Detroit.
02:32Wow.
02:33All right.
02:34How cool is that?
02:35Whoo!
02:37This place is huge, man.
02:38Wow.
02:39Danielle said he's got some square footage.
02:41That's what I'm saying.
02:41This is huge.
02:46I've got a good feeling about this place.
02:48I'm starting to get excited.
02:50Hello.
02:50Hey, you Joel?
02:51Yeah.
02:52Hey, I'm Mike.
02:52Mike.
02:53Nice to meet you.
02:54How you doing, buddy?
02:54I'm Frank.
02:54Frank.
02:55Hey, you talk to Danielle on the phone?
02:56Uh, I did.
02:58Danielle said you are, like, the most active person in your community, and you own, like,
03:02tons of property.
03:03I do.
03:04I've been fortunate enough to acquire the entire neighborhood around me.
03:08Probably 50 properties, 20 acres.
03:10Then living with that history, it was my responsibility to fix it.
03:14I have a few historic buildings I'm renovating in.
03:17In fact, I need to empty it of stuff because people are starting to live and work in them.
03:21But why don't we come in the warehouse?
03:23All right.
03:23Yeah, hurry up.
03:24Let's see what we got.
03:25You got it.
03:25Watch yourself.
03:29This is our main warehouse.
03:31Wow, this is cool.
03:32Heck yeah.
03:35In Detroit, I've explored cars and restored drag letters.
03:38And then all over, our box is full of school stuff because I've renovated four schools in Detroit.
03:44Wow.
03:45This is the perfect place that we want to be.
03:48This is big here, Joel.
03:49You got some square footage, my friend.
03:50This building, 50,000 square feet.
03:52I actually own this because the city couldn't afford to tear it down.
03:56I bought it for $10,000.
03:58Everybody knows Detroit's had a hard time, even before the recession.
04:01This was the worst block in the world.
04:04People would run red lights to get through here.
04:06Mm-hmm.
04:07But it's also a town of survivors, and it's obvious to me that Joel's one of them.
04:11He's been buying up these properties for nothing, fixing them up, and renting them out to people
04:15for affordable housing.
04:20So we're looking around inside this building, and there's tons of architectural salvage stuff,
04:23like he's got old wood doors, poles.
04:25Wow, look at that.
04:27I love places like this.
04:28I love to dig down deep because the farther you dig, the older the stuff's going to be.
04:33Ooh, what's this?
04:34What do you got, Frankie?
04:35What about this sign here that's laying on the floor?
04:38Yeah, the United Motors.
04:39This is a great piece.
04:41It has great colors.
04:42It's orange and black.
04:44Very, very hard to find.
04:54It's a little rough.
04:55It was mounted on a wall.
04:57It was actually on a building on the east side of Detroit.
04:59It was neon at one time.
05:00Even if the neon's broke, any type of neon sign you can buy made in the 30s
05:04is a great collectible item.
05:06What were you thinking on this?
05:08The enameling does look in pretty good shape.
05:10I'd say a hundred bucks.
05:12Hardcore collectors love to get their hands on this early merchandise.
05:16You know what?
05:16I like it.
05:17Yours?
05:19Not even to do anything.
05:20Okay.
05:20A hundred dollars.
05:21That was a good deal, I think.
05:22All right.
05:22How's it looking, Frankie?
05:26Look at all this stuff here.
05:27Oh, that's pretty cool.
05:30When I'm looking through the layers of this junk, I see this really awesome pedestal.
05:35What I like about this pedestal is it's cast iron.
05:37It's got a lot of knobs on it.
05:38I mean, this is an industrial look.
05:39Industrial look is very hot right now.
05:41Right.
05:42You know, those came actually out of an old school.
05:44They were original school equipment.
05:46This is an amazing piece.
05:47It's got everything going for it.
05:49I want it.
05:50What do you got to have for that?
05:51Make me an offer.
05:53Make you an offer?
05:54Yeah.
05:5450 bucks for that one.
06:00Sold.
06:00Sweet.
06:01This pedestal is really cool.
06:03If I put the right top on it, there's plenty of people I could sell it to as a table.
06:07And then I noticed when we walked in too, you've got a bunch of doors, but these right
06:10here appeal to me and these taller ones.
06:12Yeah, you know, those are kind of harder.
06:14They're pieces from my neighborhood, so I kind of got to put them back into the neighborhood.
06:20Okay.
06:20I can appreciate that.
06:21I'm going to keep them in there.
06:22One of the things that was very apparent about Joel was how passionate he was for his neighborhood.
06:27He saw what the neighborhood used to be, and he felt that he could make a difference in so many
06:32people's lives.
06:33Frankie, don't you wish we had this kind of square footage?
06:35Wow, look at that.
06:36Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:37What's the story on a motorcycle?
06:38Kawasaki 500.
06:40That's pretty cool.
06:42The odds come about this.
06:45It's been sitting here at least 25 years.
06:48This is a Kawasaki Triple.
06:49It was one of the fastest street bikes made in its time.
06:52This thing immediately piqued my interest.
07:02So this is a 71.
07:03Looks like a pretty complete bike, you know?
07:05I got to admit the engine just ceased.
07:07You know, I've only been around here with Joel for probably an hour so far.
07:10You know what Joel is?
07:11Joel's a car guy.
07:13I could tell that this motorcycle meant nothing to him.
07:15It looks fairly complete.
07:17You know what I mean?
07:18It's a nice older motorcycle.
07:20I'm not worried about the motor locked up.
07:22What do you value something like this at?
07:24Even with the motor seized on this motorcycle, I could still sell it to a collector.
07:28And if I put a little work into it and got it running, I could even score more.
07:31What is the Kawasaki 500?
07:34I would say 500 bucks.
07:35A dollar a cc?
07:36Yeah.
07:36Where are you at?
07:38I'm at $150 on it.
07:40Looks like a pretty complete bike, you know?
07:41But it's locked up.
07:43The motor doesn't run.
07:44Okay, 150 bucks.
07:47You know why?
07:47Because it has sat here the last 25 years, and I don't have a real interest in motorcycles,
07:52so cheers.
07:52All right, cool.
07:53Good deal.
07:53That's perfect for us.
07:54Gotcha.
07:55You got that.
07:55What do you got down here?
07:58Ooh, Bosch sign.
07:59Ooh, German.
08:01That's hot.
08:02How much is that?
08:03I love this Bosch metal sign.
08:05It's for Bosch horns, but I'm a Volkswagen guy.
08:08I love German stuff.
08:09Ten dollars.
08:10Ten dollars.
08:11I love this thing, but this is an odd piece to find in Detroit.
08:14This is America's car town.
08:16I tell you what, I'm gonna, I'm your guy on that.
08:20Kind of.
08:21Ten bucks is a score on this thing.
08:22Bosch is a huge German automotive parts company.
08:25There's a lot of guys that collect automotive advertising.
08:28Let's see what else we got.
08:30Joel's really easy going about parting with stuff.
08:32He's got so much of it.
08:34Frankie and I are looking at each other, and I'm thinking,
08:36man, I got money burning a hole in my pocket.
08:39Hey, Joel.
08:40What do you got?
08:40What about this motor here?
08:42Make me an offer.
08:43I could do about 40 bucks on it.
08:45Deal.
08:45How about this chair right here?
08:47Ten bucks.
08:47Ten bucks.
08:48All right, I'll pop on that.
08:50What's up with these stained glass windows?
08:51I do 500 bucks.
08:53Okay, I'll do it.
08:54Joel, what are these?
08:55Speakers for your 1960s stereo.
08:59I'll take it.
08:59Now, we're gonna go to my house, and I got a surprise for you.
09:02You got a surprise for us?
09:04Ew.
09:05Whoa.
09:06Joel has got his own little train land here.
09:08I mean, this connects to all the properties.
09:10It runs around the block.
09:12We're gonna take the train over to the house.
09:14All right, fire it up.
09:15You ready?
09:15No one's in the way.
09:16All right, wait a second.
09:17The guy's like riding a skateboard.
09:18Oh, yeah.
09:20Are you real slick?
09:20I'm doing good.
09:22So this is how you get to his house.
09:24Who's this guy think he is?
09:25Mr. Rogers?
09:26Here's Dead Man's Curve.
09:28Whoa.
09:29It kind of started off slow, but this thing's pretty darn fast.
09:32Oh, yeah.
09:33I got a little track back here.
09:34Whoa.
09:35Check out Patrick.
09:35Hey, guys, that little town.
09:37This is awesome.
09:38Is that a water tower?
09:39I mean, who builds something like this?
09:41I love this guy.
09:42Yeah, well, look at this up here.
09:43So then you went from the train.
09:45I see you got the tracks, and now you got a little town.
09:47And those are the hobos right there?
09:49The hobos.
09:49Yeah, they're camping out.
09:50Those guys look like a motley crew.
09:52Oh, my gosh.
09:53I'm gonna look both ways.
09:55Yep, absolutely.
09:56Both ways for you cross.
09:56All right, it's nice.
09:57If he's got this much cool stuff outside, I can't wait to see the inside.
10:01There's a room I haven't been in in 10 years.
10:0310 years?
10:04Wow.
10:09Oh, my God.
10:10Joel, you been holding out on me?
10:12The Smith motor wheel.
10:13Careful, don't scratch the wheel.
10:15Oh, my God.
10:16Oh, there we go.
10:16Wow.
10:17Stand up here.
10:18This is very cool.
10:19It's a Smith motor wheel.
10:21Dang, this thing's cool.
10:23Basically, what you can do with this is you can put it on your bicycle as an attachment.
10:28In the teens, this was like an economical way to put a motor on your bike, and like the guys
10:32that couldn't afford a motorcycle, or they didn't want a motorcycle.
10:35They didn't want something that big.
10:36They could put this on their bicycle.
10:37Smith motor wheels were made Milwaukee, Wisconsin, right up by me and Frankie.
10:48Is this for sale?
10:49Look at all the, without minus the mouse turds.
10:52I guess everything is, but somewhere around a grand.
10:56I like 800 better than a grand.
10:58I am head over heels in love with this thing.
11:01So cool.
11:02Just the way it is.
11:03I had to have it.
11:05Oh, my gosh.
11:06The motor's pretty clean, Frankie.
11:07That's what we got here.
11:09I love it.
11:10I can't wait to see if I can buy it, but 5,000 buy it?
11:16Is this for sale?
11:17Yeah, somewhere around a grand.
11:19I like 800 better than a grand.
11:21It is pretty complete.
11:23It had, it actually had arms that came off of it here.
11:26There would have been attachments attached to the bicycle.
11:28And then there would have been a throttle cable that went up to the handlebars to control it.
11:32If I can buy this motor wheel and stick it on a bicycle, whatever bicycle I have then is worth so much
11:38more money.
11:39I'll sell it for 800, but I don't want it to lay around in the closet like it's been doing here.
11:43Well, I'll tell you, if you'd sell it for 800 bucks, I'd buy it because this is the kind of stuff I like.
11:47Done.
11:48All right, super cool.
11:50These are the kind of things that keep me on the road.
11:53All the windshield time, all the diesel costs, all the hotels, everything blanks out.
11:59There's just me, Joel, and the motor wheel, and it's awesome.
12:03Hey, this thing even looks better in the sun.
12:06I bought the motor wheel for 800 bucks.
12:08I haven't seen one sell for a while, so I want to get it appraised.
12:12Yeah, it's a thrill.
12:13I paid $150 for the motorcycle.
12:15I beg to the right person, it's worth $700.
12:19Oh, I love that.
12:21I paid $50 for the pedestal.
12:23After I make it into a table, I think I could get $350 for it.
12:26Hey, thanks.
12:28It was great.
12:28I love what you're dealing with this neighborhood, seriously.
12:30Great.
12:30You should be proud of yourself.
12:31Thank you very much.
12:32It was great meeting Joel today.
12:33I mean, most people care about themselves.
12:35They think about, what can you do for me?
12:37Joel was the kind of person that said, what can I do for you?
12:40Hey, thank you.
12:41Okay, bye.
12:41All right.
12:42Thanks, Joel.
12:43Take care.
12:44See you, Joel.
12:45Thanks, buddy.
12:47Have a good time.
12:52Snowfall is affecting much of Southeast Michigan today.
12:55I don't care about the snow, but when we knock on people's doors,
12:58they don't want to come out with snow.
12:59I know.
12:59Can you believe your eyes?
13:00We are well into April.
13:02We have a winter weather advisory.
13:03Danielle is the one who sent us up here this time of year.
13:06Who would have thought snow in April?
13:08I would not have thought snow in April,
13:09or I would have packed warmer clothes with boys.
13:12If it's a great pick, I don't care about the weather.
13:15Oh, imagine this.
13:16Danielle, did you hear us talking about you?
13:19Uh, yeah, my ears were burning.
13:21They were burning.
13:22Because we were just talking about you.
13:23Guess what happened to us this morning?
13:25Uh-oh, what?
13:26We walked out of our hotel room.
13:28This is crazy, dude.
13:29What is it, like the end of April?
13:30How big these are?
13:31Did you bring a scraper?
13:33Oh, my God.
13:34It's like two and a half inches to four inches snow.
13:38I guess that ruined your day, huh?
13:40Yeah, and we're kind of wondering, like,
13:41why are we up in Michigan when it's snowing?
13:45Well, I mean, you're big, strong, burly, Iowa guys.
13:47You can handle it, right?
13:48Yeah, you're right.
13:49We can handle it.
13:50We can handle it.
13:50The people that we know we're going to pick,
13:52or if we have to freestyle, we can't come outside.
13:55You know what?
13:55Here's what we have to do.
13:57We all just have to stay really mentally positive.
13:59Why are you playing that card?
14:01What's going on?
14:01You got leads up here, right?
14:03Of course I have leads for you.
14:04What's our lead today?
14:05What are we doing today?
14:06But, unfortunately, the lead for today did fall through.
14:09Oh, wait a minute.
14:10You broke up.
14:11I thought I heard fall through.
14:12What?
14:13I don't enjoy calling Mike and Frank and telling them that a pick fell through.
14:17It is not my favorite thing to do.
14:18So now we're in the snow.
14:19We have no lead.
14:20I apologize.
14:21I know you're not happy about it.
14:22And, you know, all I can say is let's move forward.
14:25It's not going to do us any good to get emotional about it.
14:27Get back on the computer, see where you can find us today,
14:29and we'll see what we can do.
14:31Okay.
14:32All right.
14:32Work harder.
14:34See ya.
14:34Bye.
14:36One thing, I hate to say it, she can't control the weather.
14:40This is the stressful part of my job when things fall through,
14:42and I have to deal with the aftermath of it.
14:44So, hopefully, they are able to go out and freestyle,
14:47find some really cool stuff, and be excited and happy about it.
14:51This is a good place.
14:52Look at that.
14:52Okay.
14:53Did you see the satellite dish?
14:54Oh, yeah.
14:54I've seen it.
14:55All right.
14:55You're not looking.
14:56Pay attention to what you're doing.
14:57No, you're not.
14:58Man, I'm going to test you.
14:59All right.
15:00Why wouldn't we stop right there?
15:01Brand new skirting on the trailer.
15:03You're good.
15:04How about this place?
15:06Swimming pool in the back.
15:08Wrong.
15:09Basketball hoop.
15:10We're not looking for brand new swimming pools.
15:12We're not looking for manicured lawns.
15:14We're looking for older places with older things.
15:16All right.
15:16Here you go, son.
15:17See the Cadillac for sale?
15:18Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
15:19Yeah, yeah, I see it.
15:21Swing back in on that one.
15:27That's a perfect reason for us to stop up on this property.
15:30When the guy's already got a for sale sign on the car,
15:32he's already motivated to sell.
15:33I'd like to stop.
15:34That's what I'm talking about.
15:35This place looks good.
15:36It does look good.
15:37Sometimes you can just smell a pit.
15:43Clock face.
15:44Looks old.
15:44I've seen it.
15:45I see a clock face pump.
15:47Very rare.
15:48This is a perfect stop.
15:49Hey.
15:50Hey, how's it going?
15:51We've seen you had a car for sale out front here.
15:53Yeah, it's for sale, buddy.
15:54Yeah, I'll say.
15:5485 Cadillac original.
15:56How much?
15:57Well, 650.
15:58Does it run?
15:59Uh, it ran in 20 years.
16:0120 years?
16:02Cadillacs from the 1980s aren't bringing a lot of money.
16:05This was in rough condition.
16:06I passed and moved on towards the pump.
16:08The reason we stopped, we've seen that.
16:10We've seen the gas pump.
16:11Yeah, there's gas pump.
16:12We're gas pump, guys.
16:13Is the pump for sale?
16:14Yeah.
16:14Yeah.
16:15Can we look at it?
16:16Sure can.
16:16All right, great.
16:16Take a look at that.
16:17Yeah, we take a walk over there.
16:18What are you thinking on the pump?
16:201,100.
16:211,100?
16:22Yeah.
16:22So I'm interested in the pump, but not for 1,100 bucks.
16:25What about any of the Globes or anything like that?
16:28We don't have the Globes.
16:29All right.
16:30So what's the deal?
16:30Are you the one that lives here?
16:31Uh, no.
16:33My father-in-law lived here, and he passed away.
16:35And we've got everything going to be like for an estate sale, I guess.
16:39We're here.
16:40We got cash now.
16:40Well, I can't make that decision.
16:43I got to the boss.
16:44Who's the boss?
16:45That's the big boss, my wife.
16:48She's not home?
16:48All right.
16:49We've got that car for sale.
16:50Is there any other cars that might be for sale?
16:51Yeah, I've got another one over here in the barn.
16:52It's a 31.
16:5331 what?
16:54Model A Roadster.
16:56Oh, heck.
16:57Let's take a look at that.
16:58Can we do that?
16:58Yeah.
17:01Okay, I can see it.
17:12Here you go, fellas.
17:13Oh, yeah.
17:14Okay.
17:14I noticed right off it's got two tail lights.
17:21That means it's a deluxe model.
17:22I've been looking for one of these for a long time now.
17:25It's sat in here for 21 years.
17:2721 years it's been sitting alone.
17:29These are extremely desirable cars because 1931 was the last year of the Model A.
17:33This thing's got an older restoration on it, but it's got the rumble seat.
17:36It's a coupe.
17:37I mean, it's got the look.
17:39Oh, my gosh.
17:40The motor's pretty clean, Frankie.
17:42Let's see what we got here.
17:43The ignition's been pulled out for some reason.
17:45Yeah, somebody took the ignition out.
17:47Yeah, they must be playing with the wiring or something.
17:49I mean, it's all here.
17:50There's nothing missing.
17:51Right.
17:52I love buying stuff that's been sitting for a while, but you've got to be careful.
17:55Sometimes you can get it in over your head, and I've been there.
17:58It's a 39 Plymouth Business coupe.
18:00This is?
18:01Two-door.
18:01Wow, yeah, that's cool.
18:03I'll take it for $5,500.
18:05What do you think it's worth?
18:06$3,000 to $5,000.
18:10The interior's pretty decent still, though.
18:12Yeah, it's not too bad.
18:13I love it.
18:14I think it's a timed survivor.
18:15It's in a tomb.
18:16I can't wait to see if I can buy it.
18:18Would $5,000 buy it?
18:23Well, I can't make that decision.
18:25I'm not going to say.
18:26Okay.
18:27He says, you know what?
18:27Let me talk to the boss, which is his wife.
18:30I'll get back with you.
18:31Our number's on that flyer that I gave you.
18:34All right.
18:34Hopefully this guy will give us a jingle back.
18:36I mean, all I got to do now is sit back and wait for a while.
18:39It'd be great to get that car.
18:41All right, man.
18:41Hey, thanks for your time.
18:42All right.
18:43John, thanks.
18:44Seriously, I appreciate you showing us that.
18:45No problem.
18:46All right.
18:46And hopefully it works out.
18:47All right, guys.
18:48Thanks for showing up.
18:49All right, thanks.
18:50Buzz us.
18:52Have a good one.
18:52You too now.
18:53That was a good car.
18:54I think that's a good one.
18:55With it being an older restoration, it's going to have a lot more original stuff.
18:59But I tell you what, it's solid, man.
19:01The interior was still good.
19:02Yeah.
19:02When he did the restoration, he did it right.
19:05I hope the guy calls.
19:10All right.
19:11What's up?
19:12Who's calling?
19:12Yeah, I know who's calling.
19:13Your mom calling again?
19:14Yeah.
19:15Hello?
19:16Hello?
19:17What up?
19:18Hey, Danny.
19:19What's up, man?
19:19How's it going?
19:20Good.
19:21Good.
19:22I have a really great lead for you guys.
19:23This is a duo of father and son.
19:25They're both named Jerry.
19:26So you get a Jerry Sr. and you get a Jerry Jr.
19:30That's easy.
19:31That's easy to remember.
19:32Jerry and Jerry.
19:33Yeah, I try to make it easy on you boys.
19:35Supposedly, this place has...
19:38Are you ready, Mikey?
19:39I'm ready.
19:40Hit me.
19:40The largest collection of bicycles in the country.
19:44You guys, a bicycle guy?
19:45Yeah, and he loves balloon tire bikes.
19:47I'm interested, man.
19:49Send us the coordinates.
19:50That's cool.
19:50Talk to you later.
19:51All right, see ya.
19:52Bye.
19:53Aren't you excited?
19:55I'm excited about the bicycles.
19:58I'm excited about being a good collector.
19:59Aren't you excited for me, though?
20:02If we were going to look at the world's largest collection of oil cans,
20:07I would be just overflowing with joy for you.
20:11Yeah, but you'd lose your overflowing in about 15, 20 minutes.
20:14All right, here it is.
20:15I think this is it.
20:16Oh, yeah, that's it.
20:17Here, look at this.
20:18But Chestnut Hollow.
20:20I like that name.
20:21It's kind of cool.
20:22It's like Ichabod Crane's gonna come running through here.
20:24Oh, you're a whore, Sidney.
20:25As soon as we turned down this row and we pulled in,
20:27I mean, this is like a life-size model train town.
20:30Oh, yeah, look at it.
20:31He's got gas pumps.
20:32Okay, he's got some signs.
20:34See?
20:35Now are you getting excited?
20:36Getting excited.
20:37All right, cool.
20:38See, I told you.
20:38If he's collecting bicycles,
20:40he's got to have some other stuff.
20:40He's got other stuff.
20:42I had no idea it would be this amazing.
20:44This is like your guy with the bicycle stuff.
20:45This is my guy, dude.
20:47Hello.
20:48Yeah.
20:49Here, I hear somebody.
20:50Hey.
20:50How you guys doing?
20:51Hey.
20:51Which one of you guys is Jerry?
20:52Both of us.
20:54Both Jerry?
20:55Jerry and Jerry?
20:56Yeah.
20:57Hi, I'm Mike.
20:57How you doing?
20:58You guys talked to Danielle on the phone?
20:59Yeah.
21:00Yeah, yeah.
21:00She got my attention right away because I collect old bicycles.
21:03Yeah.
21:03And she said you guys collect old bicycles.
21:05I got some bikes.
21:06My son and I, we collect bicycles and a little bit of everything.
21:10Anything that strikes our fancy, if we got enough money, we buy it.
21:14What do you got going on here?
21:15I see you guys got a town, huh?
21:16I'm the sheriff and...
21:17You're the deputy?
21:19You're the sheriff?
21:20Yeah.
21:20Are you the deputy?
21:21Yeah, I guess so.
21:22When did you guys put all this together?
21:24We've been here about 43 years.
21:25Okay.
21:26Oh my gosh.
21:26And just got carried away with a building.
21:28And every time we built something, we fill it up.
21:31A lot more fun to buy than it is to sell.
21:33So we end up collecting a lot of stuff and storing it, basically.
21:37How many acres you got?
21:38It's about 40.
21:3940 acres?
21:40Yeah.
21:40Well, can we look around a little bit?
21:41Sure.
21:42Yeah, sure.
21:42Yeah.
21:43Yeah.
21:44This is one of the first buildings we built in 69, I think.
21:48Yeah, this is our girls' playhouse.
21:51This is just an old town theme.
21:52Cool hall, barber shop.
21:54Well, come on in.
21:56Come on in.
21:56Hell yeah.
22:00Get away.
22:02Oh, okay.
22:07Oh my gosh.
22:08Bicycle heaven.
22:09Well, we've got a friend that's into movie posters.
22:13Take all the pictures you want.
22:14I got it.
22:15I'm all jacked up on this poster.
22:17$4,000 might be legit on it, but I've got to use some expert advice.
22:20Yeah.
22:21Hey, Bill.
22:23Hey, did you get the pictures of the poster?
22:24Yes, I did.
22:25Okay, what do we got?
22:29This is crazy.
22:31Frank, you look at the chopper bikes.
22:32See them.
22:33We've been collecting mainly balloon tire bicycles from 1933 to the late 1950s.
22:39Wow, that's all original paint.
22:41Yep.
22:41They made this in three versions, Franky.
22:43They made the snub nose, the no nose, and the long nose.
22:46If there was a rare balloon tire bicycle that a collector really wanted, the Jerry's had it.
22:51The lights in the front here.
22:52I know.
22:52That makes the bike.
22:53Oh my gosh.
22:54It was like a spaceship going down the road.
22:56I'm seeing some of the rarest bikes out there.
22:58And this is exactly the way this would have rolled off the showroom floor.
23:00You've got the big dull wind, yeah.
23:01And everything is in original condition.
23:05They're just stylish.
23:06Streamline.
23:06Stylized, streamlined.
23:07Streamline, yeah, they're beautiful.
23:09We have a little over a thousand bicycles.
23:11We've been collecting bicycles since about 1980.
23:15This is one of the rarest bicycles that you can find right here, Franky.
23:18It's in Heaven Ridge.
23:19What do you value a bicycle like this at?
23:20Eh, probably 14, 15 grand.
23:23That's one of the heavy hitters.
23:24Wow.
23:24They only made 300 of them.
23:26What do you value this bike at?
23:36Oh gosh, maybe 25, 30 grand.
23:38Jerry's prices were stuck in the 1980s.
23:42And that's when these bicycles were commanding this kind of money.
23:44For all I know, this guy's still listening to David Bowie, Let's Dance, and Hot for Teacher off the 1984 Van Halen album.
23:50Now, do you have any more advertising?
23:54Like, you know, any kind of petroleum stuff?
23:57Yeah, we got some petroleum-related banners.
24:00Right here.
24:01Check those out.
24:02All right, I'll take a look at them.
24:04One or two new old stock in there, Gary.
24:06This looks dirty.
24:07This looks like it was at like a muffler shop or something.
24:09Ooh, it's got good graphics out.
24:11It's pretty colorful, though.
24:12Let me see.
24:13Nice square.
24:14That's pretty cool, man.
24:15The V-Dell banner is a great advertising piece.
24:18It was made in the 1930s.
24:19This probably hung up in a garage or maybe an auto parts place.
24:22I mean, it wasn't in the best shape, but it still had great colors.
24:25It would appeal to anyone that's interested in automobile ads.
24:28What do you get for something like this?
24:30I've been offered 90 for it.
24:32I'd like to get about 100 bucks for it.
24:34100?
24:34I'm here right now for 90.
24:36Would you do that?
24:37How about 95?
24:3795?
24:39I don't think you could ever clean this, though.
24:42I like it the way it is.
24:43I take a lot of shelves.
24:43It does look pretty good like it is, you know.
24:4595.
24:4695.
24:46We got a deal.
24:47Deal.
24:48This was a great buy at $95.
24:50I mean, there's still a little money left on it,
24:51and the best part was I finally sealed my first deal with Jerry and Jerry.
24:56So what's this place right here?
24:58This is my house, believe it or not.
24:59Not a general store.
25:01All right.
25:03All right, I like your style, man.
25:04Come on in.
25:05Wow, that's the collectible house.
25:09Yeah.
25:09Oh, look at all these masks, Frank.
25:10He's got a rocketeer.
25:11Rocketeer, baby.
25:13There's some Buck Rogers roller skates.
25:15What do you value those at?
25:16Probably about five grand.
25:17No kidding?
25:18Really hard to find.
25:19Wow.
25:20What year is this microphone?
25:21Probably 40s, 50s.
25:23What do you got on that?
25:24Um, 100 and a half.
25:26When you think of early music history,
25:28this is the microphone image that comes to mind.
25:31It is cool.
25:31How about 100 bucks?
25:32A hundred and a quarter.
25:34A hundred and a quarter.
25:35A hundred.
25:35A hundred and a quarter.
25:37A hundred and a quarter.
25:38We're tough.
25:39You got any other microphones?
25:40One other.
25:41Well, let me think about it.
25:43At $125, I'm really on the fence.
25:46If I could find the other microphone in this pick,
25:48I could possibly bundle them together and get a better price.
25:51There's the other microphone over there, too.
25:53Oh, it's got the stand, even.
25:55Electroverse, yeah.
25:56Oh, yeah.
25:56Now, how much is this one?
25:57Well, I don't know if I want to sell that one.
26:01If I sell them both, then I'll not have any left.
26:03It is pretty hard to sell a lot of the stuff that's in there.
26:07It's kind of near and dear to my heart.
26:09Look at these.
26:10Oh, yeah.
26:10All the jewels.
26:11All the glass jewels.
26:12License plate fasteners.
26:13Like, what do you get for a set of glass jewels?
26:16Oh, gosh.
26:16It depends on the jewel, really.
26:18How about, like, these two red ones right here?
26:21Probably 50 for the pair.
26:22They're abouts.
26:23Those are pretty cool, man.
26:24If you've got pride in your ride and you're all about attention to detail,
26:28these red license plate jewels are what sets it off.
26:32So, 50 bucks for these?
26:33Yeah, that's a steal.
26:35Those are beautiful, man.
26:37All right, I'll take these for 50 bucks.
26:39Deal.
26:40These are the Tiffany of Automobilia.
26:42Here's a King Kong room here.
26:44Okay.
26:45Wow.
26:46Oh, man.
26:48Oh, man.
26:49King Kong was one of the first monster movies I ever saw and just kind of got carried away.
26:54I noticed when we first walked in, I seen that one.
26:58Would that be something you consider selling?
27:00Yeah, uh, it's an Argentine, uh, pre-war, um, probably around four grand or about.
27:06So that's a pretty rare poster then.
27:08Very rare.
27:09I'm sure from Argentina, there's not a lot of them over here.
27:12There can't be many.
27:13I'm thinking this could be the big ticket item that me and Frankie need on this trip.
27:16I know that some of these King Kong posters, the Frankenstein posters,
27:20the early mummy posters could be worth a lot of money.
27:22Well, we've got a friend that's into movie posters.
27:32Would you mind if we, uh, took a couple of photos of it?
27:34No, I don't mind at all.
27:35And, you know, send them off and just kind of get his opinion on it?
27:37Take all the pictures you want.
27:39Make sure, get, get the top and then get there.
27:40I got it.
27:41I'm all jacked up on this poster.
27:43$4,000 might be legit on it, but I've got to use some expert advice.
27:47Call Bill, because he's Mr. Movie Poster.
27:49I know.
27:50And he was the one who was always telling me that King Kong stuff and Frankenstein stuff
27:53is really good.
27:54Right.
27:54So we'll call him, see what's going on with it.
27:57Hey, Bill?
27:59Yes, Frank?
27:59Hey, did you get the pictures of the poster?
28:01Yes, I did.
28:02Okay, what do we got?
28:03Sure, it looks to be in pretty good shape, but, uh, you know,
28:06re-release stuff doesn't bring as much as the original release.
28:08Have you seen that poster before?
28:11Yeah, yes, I have.
28:12It's probably worth anywhere from, like, $800 to $1,200, right in that range.
28:17It's only worth $800.
28:19Wah, wah.
28:20He was talking $4,000.
28:24Yeah, that's great.
28:25It's too bad to pass on that one.
28:27All right, buddy.
28:27Thanks.
28:28Thanks, man.
28:30$800.
28:35All righty.
28:36Well, Jerry, we talked to a friend of ours.
28:38From what he told us, it's just not enough to make you a real solid offer.
28:42Right, and he was at this price, and you're kind of there,
28:44and we don't think the window's quite big enough, so we'll pass it this time,
28:47but we appreciate you putting a price on it.
28:49Bill really saved us on this one.
28:50If we had popped $4,000 on this thing, we would have taken a King Kong-sized hit.
28:56But I am still interested in the microphone.
29:00I've been working on these microphones all day.
29:02I figure if I'm not going to spend $4,000 on King Kong, I might as well take another swing.
29:07Here's what I would do.
29:08This microphone with the stand and the other microphone that you already priced at $125.
29:14How about $275 for the pair?
29:18Done.
29:18You want to do that?
29:19Yep.
29:20I was going to say, you guys are only $25.
29:21We're only $25 a pack.
29:23Yeah, $5 off.
29:23That's good.
29:24I finally got them.
29:25I'm totally stoked.
29:26Thank you very much.
29:27Check, check, check.
29:29I bought the microphones and stand for $275.
29:33I think I can get $400.
29:35I bought the Vito cloth banner for $95.
29:40I think to the right person, maybe $150.
29:45I bought the red license plate jewels for $50.
29:47I'm going to ask $125.
29:49All right, you guys, thanks for your hospitality.
29:52All right, see you guys.
29:53Yep.
29:53All right.
29:54See you, Jared.
29:54See you later.
29:55They're just great people and their knowledge is fantastic.
30:00The guys are real fun to hang out with and talk to and it was a fun day.
30:04I love cars that are yellow.
30:10I mean, you can see them coming.
30:11They're just like, here comes the big bird.
30:13What are you talking about?
30:15That car, that Model A.
30:18I still haven't got a call from the seller, but the guy promised me that he'd have his wife
30:22call me and I'm keeping my dreams high.
30:24Who knows?
30:25Dude, I know you want the Model A, okay?
30:29But here's the deal.
30:31She hasn't even called.
30:32She doesn't even know your name.
30:34I've got his number.
30:35How many times have you called him?
30:36Six.
30:37Oh my God.
30:37Matter of fact, right now when I go, hello, he goes, Frank?
30:41Frank is going crazy over this Model A.
30:43I'm at the point right now where I just want the seller to call, so I don't have to listen
30:46to the little guy anymore.
30:47I hate to see you get your hopes up, man, because believe me, I'm all about passion.
30:51I'm all about the hunt, about the find.
30:53You see who's calling here?
30:54Right, Danny's calling.
30:55Let's give us a lead today.
30:56Nope, this is a different number.
30:58Hello, it's Frank speaking.
31:00Hi Frank, this is Debbie.
31:02Who's this?
31:04Debbie.
31:04Oh, oh yes.
31:07I'm sorry I didn't call.
31:09I got your number, but I was going to call.
31:11The phone rings, and I'm thinking it's a girl that I met at Steak and Shake.
31:14Debbie Hensky came by and talked with my husband about a Model A.
31:20Oh, oh, Debbie, Debbie, oh, okay.
31:24I am so sorry, now I know exactly who you are.
31:27We met your husband, John, the other day.
31:29Yeah.
31:30Yes, oh my gosh, thank you ever so much for calling back.
31:33Are you there now?
31:34Yes, I am.
31:35Oh, could we be a...
31:36I hope it could be great.
31:37Mike, turn this bus around.
31:38All right.
31:39We're coming there right now.
31:41Okay, great.
31:42We'll see you in about a half hour, maybe a little bit later.
31:45All right.
31:46All right.
31:46Thanks.
31:47Bye-bye.
31:48I thought it was a girl from Steak and Shake.
31:52All right.
31:53See, she called.
31:54One, two, three.
31:56There you go.
31:57Are you steering?
31:58Don't hit, no.
31:59All right, keep going, keep going.
32:01I've got to get it out of the garage.
32:02I've got to get it back in the sunlight.
32:03And most of all, I've got to get it back on the road.
32:06All right.
32:07She called.
32:07Listen, she called.
32:08And she called.
32:09That means she's motivated.
32:10You're right.
32:11But you don't even know the price yet.
32:13Well, they were saying like, you know,
32:14You want me to handle it?
32:16Now, I can handle it.
32:17It's my deal.
32:18All right.
32:18Well, you might be too emotionally charged up to do this.
32:20She's a lot better than the girl from Steak and Shake.
32:22That girl from Steak and Shake was hot.
32:24She was hot, but I mean, not as hot as this car.
32:26Finally, all the stars are lining up in my favor.
32:30This is a chance to finally put those Plymouth nightmares to rest
32:33and finally get a good deal on a 1931 Model A.
32:38All right, I got this all handled now.
32:40Come on.
32:43She probably apologized to her about that.
32:45Steak and Shake part?
32:46Steak and Shake.
32:47She probably don't care.
32:49Maybe.
32:50She called me?
32:51It's your car, maybe.
32:52All right.
32:52There she is.
32:53Hey.
32:53Are you Debbie?
32:54Hi.
32:55How are you doing?
32:56Frank.
32:56Hi, Frank.
32:57Nice to meet you.
32:57Hey, I'm Mike.
32:58Nice to meet you.
32:58Hey, Mike.
32:59Hey, John.
32:59How's it going, my friend?
33:00Good to see you again.
33:02Yeah, nice to see you again.
33:03Good to meet you guys.
33:03I hear you want to buy my dad's Model A?
33:05This guy right here.
33:06Oh, you do?
33:06Yeah, well, he was pretty excited.
33:08You want to look at it?
33:08I was.
33:09Oh, yeah.
33:10I'm ready to look at it.
33:11All right.
33:11My dad died about a year ago, and that car reminds me of the good times I had with my dad.
33:18Do you remember when he was restoring it?
33:20Yeah.
33:21Well, that's cool.
33:21I know it's because they're like original colors in yellow and black.
33:23That was a 31, you know?
33:24It's a 29.
33:25It's a...
33:26I think dad said it was a 29.
33:28It's a 31.
33:2931.
33:2931 what?
33:31Model A Roadster.
33:32When we talked to you last time, didn't you say it was like a 31, you thought?
33:35Yeah.
33:35No, it's a 29.
33:36When I found out it was a 1929 and not a 31, you know, I was a little disappointed.
33:4131 had a little bit bigger cab style and went a little bit faster.
33:44It was a little bit more drivable.
33:45Still a 29.
33:46Very collectible.
33:47All right.
33:48There it is.
33:48There it is, Frankie.
33:49There it is, Frankie.
33:50I mean, I'm trying to take it in.
33:54Take it all in, my friend.
33:55Last time Frankie fell this much in love with the car, he jumped on the deal without even seeing
33:59it in the light.
34:00Would it be possible to try to get it out of the garage so we can really go over it?
34:06I'm not going to let him be in the dark on this one.
34:08We've got to see this thing outside.
34:09One, two, three.
34:10There you go.
34:12Are you steering?
34:13I'm steering.
34:14No, we're getting up.
34:14All right, keep going.
34:16I've got to get it out of the garage.
34:17I've got to get it back in the sunlight.
34:18And most of all, I've got to get it back on the road.
34:21Let's see what we've got here.
34:30All right, now we can kind of look at it.
34:32Nice Ford ones.
34:33Ah, they're nice, man.
34:34Those are nice.
34:34The last time I bought a car, I bought the 1939 Plymouth.
34:38You know, I went upside down on that, lost some money.
34:40Hopefully, this time, I'll be able to redeem myself and come out ahead.
34:43I've known this guy since eighth grade.
34:45I'll tell you what, I haven't seen him this excited since prom 1982.
34:51Yeah, it looks like, you know, there's been some body work here.
34:53You got a lot of bondle through the, you can see through the doors, kind of smeared.
34:57Look at the bottom of the door.
34:58Look at the bottom of it.
34:59Yeah, it was just, you know, it was just an older restore.
35:04Her dad spent a lot of time and energy restoring this.
35:06Looks pretty clean, Frankie.
35:07It looks pretty clean underneath.
35:09And back in the day when they did the restoration,
35:11they probably used a lot of original parts.
35:13This is cool.
35:14Dude, that's where you belong.
35:15That's probably where you'll be riding.
35:17Boy, look at that clean motor, Frank.
35:19How does the seat look over there?
35:20This one looks good.
35:21Yeah, it's really torn up over here.
35:23It looks like the mice got into it.
35:24Oh, this is cool.
35:25All right.
35:28It's cool.
35:30All right, Debbie and John.
35:31I mean, it gives me a little bit more insight now that I'm outside here.
35:35It looks like a solid driver, not a, you know, not a real super 10-point restoration, but a nice driver car.
35:44I'm looking at around $5,500 on it.
35:4665 is as low as we'll go.
35:4965 is the bottom line?
35:52Is the bottom line.
35:53Because I'll be all honest with you.
35:55When you buy a car of this age, I know it was put away great, but you just really don't know what you're getting into.
36:02This car has not moved in 21 years.
36:05I mean, who knows what I could have to do to it?
36:06The gas tank, the transmission, the motor.
36:08I'm probably going to have $500, $600, $700 just to get it home the way it is.
36:12$5,500 gives me a little room to get some of those unspected problems fixed.
36:18All right, Debbie.
36:18I mean, I was at $55,000.
36:21You guys are talking firm at $65,000.
36:24I mean, can we just cut it down the middle?
36:26$6,000 even.
36:27And that's cash.
36:31Should we go sex?
36:33If that'll make the deal, I guess, rather than sit here and just go to pie.
36:38$6,000.
36:44$6,000?
36:44Yes.
36:45He got a deal.
36:46All right, Frankie.
36:48You bought your car, Frank.
36:49All right.
36:50You bought a Ford in Michigan, my friend.
36:52That's right.
36:53I paid $6,000 for this car.
36:55It's in great shape.
36:56It's been well taken care of.
36:57I think I made a great deal.
36:59This is Henry Ford territory.
37:00You got it.
37:01This is it right here.
37:03I feel we got a good price for the car.
37:05$6,000 was a fair deal.
37:09I got the 1929 Model A for $6,000.
37:12We're going to ship it back to Iowa and get it appraised.
37:17All right.
37:17Historic vehicle.
37:18Debbie is going to a good home.
37:20I think my dad would really love knowing that Frank liked the car so much and that he'll take care of it and get a lot of enjoyment out of it like we did.
37:31Believe me, he's going to polish the paint off that day.
37:34I will have those bumpers shining so good it'll be just like when your dad was driving it.
37:38That was great.
37:39That's cool.
37:42All right, man.
37:43Frank's the proud owner of a Model A.
37:45That's a nice car, too.
37:46Not just a Model A.
37:47He's got a rubble suit.
37:49Hey, that's the time to buy.
37:50Roadster, that's the one where you want to be.
37:52I think all in all, even though the weather's a little cold, we had some adverse conditions.
37:56It's snowing out.
37:57I think we still did pretty good in Michigan.
37:59I think we did.
38:00I'm going to be glad to get back home.
38:02Are you missing your cat?
38:08Oh, wow.
38:09That is really cool.
38:10Well, I guess I'm wondering what you paid.
38:12I paid $6,000 for it.
38:15No, really?
38:16Seriously, what did you pay for it?
38:17$6,000.
38:24I bought this Smith motor wheel up in Detroit from a guy named Joel, and we got it back here at the shop.
38:29But I called my buddy Dave, and I hope he swings by here and gives us an idea of the value of it.
38:34Hey, Dave and me, guys.
38:34Hey, Dave and me, guys.
38:35What's up?
38:36What's happening, man?
38:37How you doing, my friend?
38:37How you doing, my friend?
38:38Cocky action.
38:38What's going on?
38:39He's been a guy that I've looked up to for a lot of years, and I really value his opinion.
38:43There it is.
38:44I love that thing.
38:46When Mike called me and said he actually found a Smith motor wheel, I thought,
38:50wow, I haven't seen one for such a long time, I'd like to put my hands on and take a look at it.
38:54This is the oil tank reservoir.
38:56Okay.
38:56And this is the muffler.
38:57See how the pipe goes down?
38:58Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:00It was really just an early form of transportation.
39:03You connected this to your bicycle, turned your bicycle into a little motorcycle.
39:06A.O. Smith in Milwaukee bought the rights to this in 1914.
39:10So this is 1914 to 1919, somewhere in there.
39:14Okay, yeah.
39:14I was thinking it was mid-teens, but I wasn't sure exactly what year.
39:17They made 25,000 of them, but when World War I occurred, a lot of them were scrapped.
39:22So there's a lot of bits and pieces around, but finding one intact, that's pretty special.
39:27Right there, Frankie.
39:29Oh, yeah.
39:30That's killer.
39:31This used a similar tire as what was on these bikes.
39:34This one looks like almost a little small clincher tire, 20-inch tire.
39:37Yeah, I think it's 20-inch.
39:38And that propelled the bike, you know, when this was running, you know.
39:42It was actually very easy to install.
39:44It mounted to the frame.
39:45This mounted on the bicycle itself, and then there was a cable that went up here
39:49and hooked onto the handlebars, and that was your throttle.
39:51Exactly.
39:52So imagine it's like all of a sudden you got your bicycle,
39:55and then you turn it into a motorcycle.
39:56You're the man.
39:57They used them for many years, and very popular.
40:00Whatever popped in people's heads, they'd use them for it.
40:02They actually adapted them to buckboards, scooters.
40:05I've actually seen one adapted to a sled.
40:07All right, here's the biggie.
40:08Yeah.
40:10What's it worth in this condition, you know?
40:13I like it because it's untouched, and I would leave it.
40:16It'd be a sin to restore this thing.
40:17I just, I really leave it sweaty like that.
40:20I just love it.
40:22To me, $1,500.
40:25Cool.
40:26That's good.
40:27I paid $800 bucks.
40:28Really?
40:29Yeah.
40:29I think that was a score.
40:35Did I do good, Uncle Dave?
40:36I think you did.
40:37I think this is killer, man.
40:38I loved it.
40:39You know what, and it's just having the experience and finding it in an old house like that,
40:44that's worth tons of money to me just by myself.
40:46Dave has been our mentor for a long time, so when he says that we did good, we did really good.
40:52It's awesome, man.
40:53That was one thing that we found.
40:54Um, did you see my item that I bought when we were there?
40:57I did.
40:57I was pulling up, and I was thinking, whoa, that looks like Frankie said.
41:00Well, I'll take a look at it.
41:01A year ago, almost to the day, I bought a Plymouth, and I lost some money on it.
41:05Dave was the guy that came out and said, I think he didn't do the best deal.
41:08I can't wait to show him my Model A.
41:10Farm fresh from Detroit, man.
41:12Is it running right now?
41:13Um, no, but it's...
41:15No, it hasn't ran for 25 years.
41:1621.
41:17Typical 70s restoration.
41:1970s, that's about it.
41:20The fact that it's a 70s restoration is good, because especially in the 70s,
41:25you know they're not going to use many reproduction parts.
41:27Tires are good.
41:28I mean, they were flat, but...
41:29Yeah, let's take a look at the inside here.
41:31We can have Danielle fix this.
41:33Danielle can fix that right there.
41:35I'm looking it over, and it needs this and that.
41:37But it is a very nice car.
41:39Well, I guess I'm wondering what you paid.
41:42I paid $6,000 for it.
41:46No, really.
41:47Seriously, what'd you pay for it?
41:48$6,000.
41:49Do you know how many Model A's they made?
41:52$15,000?
41:53$15,000?
41:54$5 million.
41:56$5 million.
41:57When Frank told me what he paid for it, I thought, he's not thinking about the production,
42:06how many they made, and there's sort of like a belly button.
42:09Everybody has one, you know?
42:11You paid $6,000, and you paid what to have it shipped?
42:13$9.50.
42:14Let's just round it up to $7,000.
42:16I got about $7,000 into it so far.
42:18Well, Frank, it's kind of a deja vu thing right now.
42:23Remember the Plymouth?
42:24I'd say it's in very good condition, but if you did a ground up restoration on it,
42:30you're definitely going to have more in it than it's worth, in my opinion.
42:35Maybe you just bought it because you liked it.
42:37That's cool.
42:38What do you think it's worth?
42:40I don't know, Frank, I don't know, $5,000, $6,000.
42:45So money to be made?
42:47I don't think, uh, money to be made, uh, I don't think so.
42:50You're not always going to hit home run, Frankie.
42:52Almost breaking even, maybe?
42:54Uh, no.
42:57I don't think so.
42:58This was a deal where you should have called, you know, called old Dave and said,
43:01hey, what do you think?
43:02I'll send you these pictures and I could have maybe helped you a little bit.
43:05He was just kind of like Frankie, man.
43:07He looked the same as he did a year ago.
43:09Can't you consult me?
43:10I appreciate you being honest.
43:11Yeah, no problem.
43:12I get tired of your honesty on both of my car situation, but you know what?
43:16There's going to be a day you're going to go, Frank, you hit a home run today.
43:21I believe that.
43:21Strike one, strike two.
43:23As long as you're swinging, one of these days I'm going to hit it out of the park.
43:26All right, let's go get Frankie some starting fluid.
43:28All right.
43:28I'm getting tired of your appraisals anyway.
43:30We'll get you a bucket of soapy water.
43:32That's cool.
43:32Wash her down.
43:34In the end, I don't really care.
43:36I like it and I'm going to keep it.
43:38Does he have a choice?
43:40I get this thing all polished up, get it all rolling stuff.
43:43I know Mike will be the first one, Frank.
43:45He'll take me for a ride.
43:47You know what, Sweetie Pie?
43:48I know you've had a hard road these last 21 years,
43:52but we're going to get you back out and breathe some life into you, Sweetie Pie.
43:55We'll get you back on the road.
43:56You're worth every penny.
43:59You're worth every penny.
44:01You're worth every penny.
44:03You're worth every penny.
44:05You're worth every penny.
44:07You're worth every penny.
44:09You're worth every penny.
44:11You're worth every penny.
44:13You're worth every penny.
44:15You're worth every penny.
44:17You're worth every penny.
44:19You're worth every penny.
