02:09saying when you stop don't stop so hard just like kind of stop and then don't accelerate real
02:14fast sounds to me like you're grouchy i am grouchy it's danielle that's grouch master grouchy person
02:20danny d what's up hey what's going on i have a lead for you guys thank god this guy's name
02:25is harry
02:26langley he is a machinist as well as a marine surveyor and an engineer so he's kind of a
02:32brainiac well what's he got he has stuff at the machine shop and he has stuff at his house
02:36stuff's he got in his house okay i'm answering the question but just give me a second here
02:39because it's a very specific lead and it's complicated i'm sorry you're breaking up what's
02:42he got okay you know what i sent you the coordinates on your phone you're just gonna have to go
02:46and
02:46figure this out on your own find out what he's got i am over it hey we're just kidding
02:52hello she hung up so now we're going to a pic we don't even know it's there we were just
02:57teasing
02:57but obviously danielle wasn't in the mood for it so now we're going into this pic blind i hope
03:02it's a good pic i hope she's not really mad at us
03:09it's coming up right up here dude oh here it is machine shop yeah especially everything well
03:14she said he's like a marine engineer danielle has never hung up on us in the two years that
03:18she's been working for us i was feeling a little bit weird when we pulled in the driveway just
03:22because we didn't have her there in spirit look at that big fish when we got down the driveway
03:26and i started seeing all those buildings who knows what this guy's gonna have
03:35are you harry yeah hey how you doing frank hey i'm mike mike this guy's got a grip like an
03:41anaconda and a voice like dirty harry nice to meet you here's some of the stuff we buy anything
03:46from motor scooters to windmill weights can we take a look around your shop or anything sure
03:50my age it's time to start getting rid of stuff come on in see you're open for business we'd stay
03:55busy all right i bet no way harry's machine shop was awesome this guy can make anything out of
04:03anything he's got all the stuff in here of the millings and lays nothing was for sale in there but
04:08we still had to check it out you're an engineer you can make about anything right yeah when you take
04:13something like a piece of metal and it's just nothing you make something out of it like a fitting
04:18it's a pleasure because you see an imprint something that is made of quality look at this
04:23mike that's a press that's a real press 20 ton 40 000 pounds frank and i weren't the kind of
04:29guys
04:29that were taking trigonometry and physics we were taking small engines class machine shop i was all
04:36of a sudden flashing back to mr breen's class when frank was getting in trouble but now it's time to
04:41get
04:41picking wow frank spark plug light got some stuff in here now in harry's house there's not even a wall
04:51space it's empty i mean there's not even a place to sit down because there's so much stuff this house
04:56is like one huge display case hey harry what about this i find this beautiful tin toy car from the
05:06buffalo toy company it was made around the 1930s
05:18this something you'd sell yeah this toy is a wind-up and has great art deco design and it's in
05:24pretty
05:24decent shape how much would it take for you to take a chance on it oh i'd have to have
05:28200 or
05:30200 oh man i was i was more like about 75 for 200 and the condition it's in there's just
05:37not enough
05:38meat on the bone how about 150 how about 100 i don't even know if it winds up or not
05:48okay 100 100 you got it all right we'll deal this car will clean up really nice and it'll look
05:54great
05:54in somebody's collection dig on in guys i'm sorry it's so piled up in here are you kidding me that's
06:02the way we love it man yeah waste deep oh i like that what's this piece here sergeant and company
06:07it clamps on the shelf bracket itself and it looks like it was a clamp that's for a saw sharpening
06:12it
06:12was a piece that clamped a saw blade and they actually sharpened the blade with this item see i'll
06:17use that for display i'll clamp something with it yeah very cool piece had the manufacturer's name on it
06:22original paint with something like that worth 30 dollars about 20. 20 is fine all right don't pop
06:30on it man for 20 bucks i'm happy we're starting to find some cool stuff and harry's giving us some
06:36good prices that's made of wood harry what's that up there up on the wall there's this large model
06:42looks to be like an airplane nothing i've ever really seen before that's uh one of three of the
06:47first jet airplanes modeled to go into an air tunnel okay one of three the other two exist no no
06:55that's
06:56pretty cool this is an original model of one of the first jet planes i mean this thing is super
07:01rare
07:01and super cool that's what they use as a little demo so they can see the drag see if it
07:06would fly
07:06properly is it heavy yeah it's real heavy it's all solid wood okay i was gonna say it looks it
07:10looks
07:11heavy this model was made by wood to scale it was used by engineers in wind tunnels to test for
07:17jet
07:17planes this is a real piece of aviation history
07:28my uncle pepper langley built three of them to go in the test tunnel pepper langley was a model maker
07:34a lot of his works of art are renowned now in smithsonian is that something you'd sell
07:41oh i'd have to have you know four thousand dollars or that as cool as this thing is four thousand
07:47dollars that's just too much it's very clear that harry wants to hold on to this model himself
07:52it has a lot of sentimental value
07:56what about this boat model right here that's in this case that was my on page favorite model
08:01would you sell that well i'd think about it but i'd have to lose four for that four grand yeah
08:07so far harry's priced the boat and the jet plane for four grand each it seems like everything he's
08:13got hanging high up on the wall is high up in the price range
08:24i can't help but notice every room we go into you've got surveillance equipment huh
08:27yeah dang oh yeah uh oh what happened intruder that tells me somebody's coming in the driveway
08:34oh all right here he has this whole place under surveillance i mean this place is tighter than
08:39fort knox i built a vault system in the house okay inside that vault it's like al capone man
08:48once we get inside this vault hopefully it's nothing like al capone's that was a really bad
08:53pick for geraldo if you look down here close on there chemical warfare gas so when you open the
08:59gate the door on it gas would hit you yeah if you try to break out you got my attention
09:04now this vault
09:05looks like it belongs in a bank my heart is racing i can't wait to see what's behind this door
09:11the way if you look down here close on there chemical warfare gas so when you open the gate
09:18the door on it gas would hit you yeah if you try to break out you got my attention now
09:33here go in there see if there's any gas in there check it out
09:39you good i'm good all right he's still alive i can breathe harry said that anything in this vault
09:45is for sale we got some jewelry guns watches coins he values these items but they just don't carry
09:53the sentimental value of the stuff that he has on display what's this harry that's a samurai sword
09:59that's the real thing there's a lot of people that collect swords and weapons and they'd love to get
10:04their hands on this do you have any documentation on this no who do you think made this you know
10:19i
10:19don't know they were in a stash of a lot of weapons what do you estimate this worth that's a
10:25hundred
10:25dollars that's a hundred that's how we're talking my speed this thing is amazing it's in very good
10:30condition for its age and i love the ornate design in the hilt without the documentation to go with
10:35this sword a hundred dollars is a pretty fair price all right i'll take it for a hundred i like
10:40it you
10:41got it
10:48oh frank pulls out another antique sword and this one immediately catches my eye that sword is a rare
10:55one that's a general 13th colony sword it's a general sword if you count the stars on it's 13
11:01stars on it this sword is incredible it looks to be around 200 years old you can see by its
11:06markings
11:06and its condition it looks very special how much is this i'd say 2 000 have you ever had it
11:13appraised
11:14before anybody look at it no two thousand dollars is a lot of money but i've got a little bit
11:18of
11:18experience with antique swords all right so where were you talking about the 13 stars on it at right
11:23where that seal is no in that shield there as harry is pointing out the stars on the sword i'm
11:28counting 15 stars which leads me to believe this sword is from the early to mid 1800s doesn't have
11:34any big gouges out of it it's in great condition for its age with incredible details can i make an
11:40offer on it sure um you're at two grand i'm at 1600 bucks uh i can't really go for 1600
11:51how about uh
11:52how about 1700 i i hate the part where that i've had my entire life it's been in the family
11:59how about 1800
12:06making 19. sure this thing is a gamble but if it's really a general sword i could be hitting the
12:14jackpot
12:20done all right cool it's in the vault nobody ever gets to see it at least now somebody ever
12:24can see it whoever we pass this on to we're going to tell them the story and give them as
12:29much
12:29information as we possibly can harry was an awesome guy it was great looking through his collection
12:33me and frankie both bought swords now we're armed and dangerous i bought the samurai sword for a
12:39hundred dollars i think i can get at least 250. i got the antique toy car for a hundred dollars
12:47i'm
12:47gonna ask two hundred dollars for it i bought this sword for 1900 bucks i'm gonna ship it back to
12:54the
12:54shop so danny can have it appraised well thank you very much for letting us look around
12:59we appreciate it appreciate it today was a very enjoyable day with mike and frank it's nice having
13:03somebody appreciate all the stuff that you've collected and if i ever need anything machined i
13:08know where to go anytime they're gonna find that that sword is worth a whole lot more than two thousand
13:13dollars see you harry bye bye
13:17tell me if you think i'm nuts okay i got 1900 in that sword i think that's gonna be a
13:22good piece you think it
13:24is i think it is because it's got the 13 stars building it's in great condition i tell you what
13:29it's very ornate i'm gonna call danielle and get that sword appraised
13:36we need to get off this road we need to get on some kind of smaller road or something being
13:41out on
13:41the east coast here we're a long ways away from home we haven't got a lead nothing from danielle the
13:46stakes are getting high when i freestyle i like to get on the dirt roads i like to go in
13:50the middle of
13:50nowhere you like to stay on the busy roads i don't like to stay on the busy roads i just
13:54don't like
13:54to get off where like we don't know we're at that's the beauty of it that's how you find stuff
13:59really that's how you get arrested this all right just get off this road then get off this road
14:03where right here all right anyway i'm tired to listen to you just get off this road getting off
14:07right here this doesn't look this looks like somebody's driveway dude this doesn't look like a
14:12road there's no mailbox yeah this was someone's driveway to have a mailbox on the front of you
14:15this is a driveway dude we're gonna find something just look at there's there's a gate to go into
14:19somebody's what's that say no trespassing keep out awesome right there doesn't that said keep it
14:25was rusted and the rest of parts it out here's something down here we got my bicycle there's
14:32an old bicycle yeah look at that that looks like an old building full of stuff right there whoa major
14:37junk see if i wasn't driving today we'd probably be at arby's right now let's do it but instead we're
14:44at
14:45the gates of what could be junk heaven look at that contraption this place are you gonna pat me
14:49on the back it's all right i mean just go ahead it's right there maybe mike's onto something here
14:55i mean this looks like our kind of place there's junk everywhere but the last thing i want to do
15:00is get arrested for trespassing hello hey man what's up we don't we don't mean to intrude we got on
15:08your
15:08i guess it was your driveway we thought it was just a regular old road and then we pulled up
15:12we've seen
15:12you got like a lot of stuff outside here we buy sell and trade we're from iowa you ever been
15:16to
15:16iowa we're pickers well can we look around a little bit
15:22no really
15:26yeah okay when you roll up on somebody unannounced you never know how they're going to react this guy
15:33doesn't seem to mind uninvited guest playing bobo bobo yeah and i might bobo just jamming away with
15:40his friend wayne here on these homemade instruments all right look at it oh look at that he's playing
15:45with what is that yeah it's a vegetable can no way that's cool man it's cool are you an artist
15:51yeah
15:51one of the things i do is make musical instruments i was born in brooklyn new york and i somehow
15:57got
15:57forced into going to college and in my freshman year i met the art teacher my whole life turned
16:04upside down and i went on the path that i'm on now that i like to be on can we
16:09look around in here sure
16:10all right
16:15i've got some old tools here frankie this is the wall that had all the axes on bobo's got a
16:23wacky sense of
16:24humor and with all the funky stuff he's got around here i can tell we're in the right place
16:28uh-oh hey bobo what would you have to have on this cast iron coffee grinder that's from 1890 in
16:36brussels
16:37and it really works anti-coffee grinders make great display items and this one's in great condition
16:42despite its age make me an offer about 30 bucks
16:48what'd you get this guy he's not serious frank don't get us thrown off the property
16:52shoot me shoot me a price you're not gonna hurt my feelings move the decimal point one
16:56so three hundred dollars yeah okay well at least you priced it for me 300 bucks that's a crazy number
17:02hopefully everything in here isn't priced like that oh wow look at that
17:08i see this beautiful lap steel guitar right on the table oh yeah bluegrass and country musicians play
17:14these with a slide to get that signature sound what do you get for something like this this is made
17:19by a company called magnetone it's the 1950s and the bodies made of something called mother of toilet
17:24seat this thing is cool
17:36now this is a thing that i would keep myself but i'd be glad to sell it to you because
17:41i owe him money
17:43musicians and collectors snatch this kind of stuff up does it work sure sure hit me a tune there real
17:54quick

18:01got to have it what would you value this at i bet you 980 dollars 980 wow 980 dollars that's
18:11really a
18:11precise figure i was looking more like 250 that's close that's close this guy is a joker i'm trying to
18:18keep a
18:18straight face watching him go at it with frank add 50 to that add 50 to it at 300 i
18:26think that's a fair
18:26price i think i'll take it for 300 this is a great deal we got more junk over in the
18:32blacksmith shop
18:32if you want to see all right heck yeah so bobo's been living on this property for about 20 years

18:53this is exactly the kind of place we love to dig into i found this picture frame pretty cool i
19:02love
19:02this portrait of this soldier it's very cool it's missing a piece on the frame right here yeah see
19:08right there the frame is missing one piece but this is the perfect item for the guy that collects military

20:28in the jungle land mike wow wow hey what about this sign here now that's a nice sign it's a
20:37porcelain
20:37sign yes wonder bread you know it's a beauty it's a top-end sign porcelain signs are highly sought
20:44after by collectors every time i see one in great condition i have to make an offer on it i
20:48mean who
20:49doesn't like wonder bread
21:00give me a serious bid on this serious when did this guy start getting serious fifty dollars

21:24bobo
21:24fifty five yeah deal
21:29do i love this piece yes did bobo brainwash me into loving it i'm not sure
21:39did you have a lambretta scooter yeah i had parts of one i find this side panel
21:45for a lambretta scooter this is 1960s series three these parts are getting harder to find
21:50this would be a great piece for someone looking to complete a restoration you just got one panel
21:55that's it yeah i'm gonna make a musical instrument out of it if nobody takes it how much this piece
22:02is
22:02not gonna end up as one of bobo's homemade banjos that's 50 dollars i'll take it for 50 bucks that's
22:09a great deal i got that in my shopping cart things are going well the shopping cart's starting to get
22:14full and then bobo said he's got some stuff stashed in his house oh yeah wow wow wow
22:23being inside bobo's house is like being inside his head there's shelf after shelf of eccentric items
22:29oh look at this dude that's jojo the dog face boy it's great to be around such a creative person
22:34whoa god what is that i spot this wild mummy looking cat staring at me with these crazy eyes
22:41that's the full-size model for the cat that's on the alice in wonderland statue mall the alice in
22:47wonderland statue is one of the most famous landmarks in new york city's central park this was the actual
22:53model and they took it to the foundry and they imported wow this piece was used as part of the
22:59process to make the mold of alice's cat dinah even though this is only the armature it's a one-of
23:05-a-kind
23:05piece of art history jose de kraft gave it to me and i pointed a camera at him all day
23:19every day for
23:20two years i've lived a long life it was an underground filmmaker and it's a great way to
23:25live do you have photographs with the artist with this yes when you buy art it's a little bit risky
23:30because you have to verify the authenticity photographs go a long way in establishing
23:34credibility since bobo can prove this is the real deal i'm really interested in this piece
23:40have you ever had anybody make you an offer on it for the first time today bobo's looking pretty
23:46serious kind of the biggest thing in my collection is alice's cat he's nice he has a nice movement
23:52sculptors today don't go through all the stuff to make a thing that he did i think it's amazing i
23:57mean i love it and it's a rare thing and it's a beautiful thing to some people this may not
24:03look
24:03valuable but to me it's iconic it's unique and i cannot believe it's here in my hands somebody suggested
24:10ten ten ten grand i'd have to be the mad hatter to pay ten grand for this thing but there's
24:16got to
24:16be a long line of people that are going to have interest in it art collectors new york history buffs
24:21people that are into alice in wonderland this is an incredible piece i'd step up to the plate all
24:27right i'm interested in it i'll take a chance on it i'm at two grand
24:33make it four and you can take it home 20 23 work with me a little bit
24:41okay about 28 if i leave here without this cat i'm gonna be crushed 27
24:57okay 27 yeah i'm your guy but you've got right you've got to like it you got it i love
25:04it are
25:04you kidding me i love it this cat is awesome it's going to a good home my friend this turned
25:09out to
25:09be an amazing freestyle all right frankie i shelled out 2700 to rescue alice's cat i'm gonna find it a
25:19good home i bought the slap still guitar for 300 i think i can at least 650. i paid 50
25:27for the lambretta
25:28scooter panel i'm gonna ask 150. thank you so much bobo it was fun i can appreciate what you're doing
25:35man your heart's beautiful it's been a while since we've run into a guy like bobo me and mike got
25:39some awesome stuff and i'm really glad that we turned down that dirt road thanks for not kicking
25:44us off the property in your hospitality i have to say truthfully that it was delightful to have mike
25:50and frank come here all right man see you later see you later okay have a safe ride they seem
25:55to
25:56appreciate a lot of the stuff that they got and i found stuff i forgot that i had which was
26:01pretty
26:02thrilling see you buddy see ya sweet picking
26:11all right you know what we haven't heard from danielle for a while i'm sitting here eating gummy
26:15bears we haven't even begun to dig into the maryland crab situation what's the point of being out here
26:20yeah i understand the picking's great whatever but man i gotta taste the local flavor i'm jonesing
26:25for some maryland crab if this next pick turns out to be a winner i'm gonna splurge on a crab
26:30feast
26:33hey danny what's up hey how you doing tell me you have something good i do as a matter of
26:39fact
26:39tim miller who i'm going to send you to actually has a really interesting oil background okay this
26:44dude's grandfather started mcmahon oil in 1944 then he sold mcmahon oil in 2002 he actually wants to start
26:52doing beer making so he bought the rights to a beer company and he's going to start making beer
26:56so he needs some cash to get his beer stuff going up buy some hops buy some barley all right
27:01girl if
27:02you were here i'd give you a big wet kiss ew gross all right honey thanks send us the coordinates
27:06awesome
27:11this is it right here commercial fueling this is really exciting because it's a completely different
27:17kind of pick than we're used to we're not picking a collector that's accumulated a lot of different stuff
27:23we're picking an old oil company this could be the king tut's tomb of petroliana hey you tim hey yeah
27:31how you doing how's it going i'm mike all right hey nice to meet you my friend talk to daniel
27:36on the
27:36phone a little bit yeah this is the site of mcmahon oil company my grandfather started the oil business
27:43here back in the 40s december 2001 we sold the business made sense for dad to retire and for me
27:48to move
27:49something else she said uh you want to get in the beer business i bought an old retired beer brand
27:54brought the trademark to it so okay it's a baltimore brew i'm trying to bring it back to life national
27:58premium beer of the national brewery in baltimore a proud name old name apparently it was a pretty
28:05special beer so are you gonna brew the beer right here i hope to one day well danielle said uh
28:09the only
28:10reason you were selling a few things is because just trying to raise some capital for the brewery that's
28:14it yeah i'm gonna get the business started okay well can we look around a little bit yeah when people
28:18are
28:18looking to change their life get a little capital off that's where we step in oh yeah we've got tim's
28:24economic stimulus package right here in our pocket you do got some pumps in here got a few yeah this
28:30lime green porcelain one's kind of cool it's kind of neat somebody tagged it though i know it these gas
28:35pumps are definitely old you know but it's not all about the age you know it's about how beautiful they
28:39are how art deco they are i mean are they pleasing to the eye these just aren't it what was
28:44this place
28:44like man when you were kicking around here it was humming yeah it was humming barges used to come
28:50in here by water drop the oil off into those tanks uh-huh and then we would have our trucks
28:54that would
28:54deliver to our local gas stations heating oil accounts farm accounts i tell you what though
28:59the way this building's set up this would be an amazing brewery i think so i really like to help
29:04tim
29:04get his beer business going but as we're looking through this stuff it's a lot of newer beat-up items
29:09finding old stuff around here in good condition is going to be a lot harder than i thought
29:15what's up with this i stumble across this giant old plumber's wrench and i'm thinking to myself you
29:20know what with the price of tools everything's made in china this is american-made steel it's huge
29:25it's a unique item how much you got to have for this big wrench i'd say 75 bucks would do
29:31it
29:35get that scrap feel it ain't that heavy 75 bucks that's not that how about 60 bucks 75 there's not
29:42enough meat on the bone i had to be at 60 bucks to double my money you can have it
29:48with the cobwebs
29:49for 60. all right man thanks i love it picking 101 when you can buy a big tool for 60
29:54bucks buy it
29:56oh there's a metal one whoa check this out this thing is pristine is this something you would sell
30:02tim how about 800 800 whoa i like this a lot you like this one but uh how much how
30:09much do you like it
30:16so have you sold a lot of stuff in here we've had some sales over the years the old timers
30:20at the
30:20company told me they used to just throw away globes and pump when i hear that they sold they toss
30:25a lot
30:25of stuff my heart skips a beat if it's already been picked through this could be a real disappointment
30:30this is sort of a lunch room we built right away we see a bunch of stuff that's older and
30:34in better
30:34condition this room's looking more promising oh this is a spark plug yeah a big part of the business
30:40is called tba tires batteries and accessories look at that this is a salesman's sample this is the set
30:47that he took around to all the amaco dealers to show them the different types of plugs nice little
30:51velvet box it's all intact you never find things like this what you got here for this
31:00take a hundred bucks for that that's exactly what i was thinking all the same thing all right
31:05hundred bucks now i've seen this still picture over here yes and i see these over here what what's this
31:11what's the deal on that came from a customer he was an atf agent these are the actual drawings to
31:17show the alcohol tobacco and firearm agents what to look for when they were on people's properties
31:22and the different types of stills that were manufactured those are all hand drawn too look
31:26at that they're all hand colored those are warm colors a groundhog still there a groundhog still
31:31sir back when these drawings were made there wasn't any powerpoint presentations instead a guy hand
31:36painted each image and now after all these years these are considered art what would you value these at
31:41um probably 30 bucks a piece so that would be one two four five six eight of them that's 240
31:52about 200. if i can keep one of those diagrams i'll do it for 200. which one are you gonna
31:58pick
31:59probably that one miscellaneous pot stills i'm fine with tim keeping one of the prints all right tell
32:05you what we'll do the deal for 200 for that stack the stack you're keeping that one okay deal
32:12oh my god frankie that's you dude at 200 my moonshine art collection is a great deal
32:21it's kind of cool what's this i found that uh in the rafters of the building next door it was
32:27an exxon
32:28terminal so kerosene look at the pad it's like strong that was the oh yeah yeah yeah these so kerosene
32:34globe faces are an amazing condition every once in a while we'll find one of these that's been used
32:39these are all brand new in the original box and they're early they're very rare
32:53probably 18 of them in their back all right here i'm gonna hit you with a number okay the whole
32:57box yeah okay all right 500 bucks wow i see a little bit of a hesitation on tim's face and
33:08i
33:08don't want to risk losing these great items and i'll let you keep two okay done you want to do
33:14it
33:14yeah that's a deal all right tim's given us some really good prices that tells me this guy's ready
33:19to sell at 500 there's a lot of meat left on the bone for me where else can we look
33:23around at
33:24out back in the warehouse here i got some old signs old signs heck yeah i'm good okay yeah let's
33:31do it
33:31if there's more stuff in the warehouse like there was in the lunchroom this could be the well-moved
33:36petroleum honey hole that we've been looking for there's a lot to look at wow i'm starting to get
33:45excited this is not a well-organized collection we are digging in an old petroleum company you never
33:51know what you're gonna find under the benches in the shelves in the boxes this is picking
33:58that is a display i see that the first thing that i pick up is this really cool countertop display
34:04that was used to sell stewart speedometers that's cool man what do you got after that
34:10that's pretty rare i know back in the day in the early teens if you bought a car everything was
34:16an
34:16accessory stewart was the company that sold the speedometers and the horns this was a piece that
34:21was sitting on the counter if you wanted to buy a speedometer for your car the salesman would have
34:26showed you this display 150 150 bucks
34:38i love it man what'd you do 300. tim's unloading this stuff at rock bottom prices i'm not even
34:49talking him down 150 will do all right i want to make sure i give him a fair price so
34:57he can start
34:57his beer business this is for hauling barrels around that's for a 55 gallon drum you got a little hook
35:02you're gonna need that for your beer barrels that's it right
35:10that's pretty interesting right there they reproduce these in plexiglass all those guys that
35:14were storing these visible pumps nobody wants that they're always looking for the cylinder absolutely
35:18you know i'd like somebody to have that that that should be used i can't believe it's been sitting
35:22around here this long it's not been broke yeah so what's it say it says radiant glass company
35:28gasoline filling stations the reason it's impossible to find mid-conditioned glass cylinders for these
35:35visible pumps is because they haven't been made for years they actually reproduce these cylinders in
35:40plexiglass the hardcore guys that want to restore these pumps they want original glass cylinders i'm looking
35:46at one right now in the original box i'm gonna start at a hundred dollars i need to feel tim
35:51out to
35:51see how attached he is to it would you do a hundred bucks on this yeah you do 100 i
35:57know somebody out
35:58there really needs and wants one of those that's sitting in a box here it's not doing any good
36:05this has turned out to be a really good pick i need that one big valuable item mike's already earned
36:11his
36:12crab dinner now i need to earn mine hey tim hey you got any more of these laying around
36:21uh there might be one or two but uh it's a bracket you know this is i like to buy
36:25these because i collect
36:26all kinds of different signs this is just a great universal bracket yeah i mean it can be gas
36:31well you can hang anything on it you know i mean a good period bracket completes the display of a
36:35good
36:36antique sign it's one of those things that any serious sign collector needs what would you have to have for
36:41the bracket oh i'd say 20 bucks 20 bucks take it right on the money good deal good deal that
36:50used
36:50to be on the front of this building and i think it held a sign that's up against the wall
36:54there oh yeah
36:55heck maybe i better look at the sign too yeah i love old gas oil signs so far i haven't
37:00found anything
37:01great here but that doesn't mean there's not something tucked away whoa check this out american oil
37:08company is the long name for the brand that we know today as amoco
37:25this is still in the shipping crate here you know i find gas and oil signs all the time but
37:30it's very
37:30rarely that you find one in its original crate if i can get this sign for the right price this
37:35is my
37:35ticket to a crab dinner the sign's made 1970s yeah so it's not super age on it what makes this
37:42sign
37:43so valuable is its condition it's never been out of the crate it's never been hung it's never been
37:47outside for the weather of the elements i mean this thing is pristine is this something you would sell
37:52tim i'm not real familiar with the market but uh i like this sign a lot you like this one
37:58throw something
37:59at me um tim's been pricing things to move here so if i throw out a number i have to
38:04make sure that
38:05i'm not overbidding it 350 dollars i was thinking a little north of that a little north of that you
38:11tell me how about 800 800 how about 800 800 i don't know if i could go that high on
38:20it whoa
38:21he must really love this sign but guess what so do i how about 500
38:28six and i'll do it we're getting there it was only going to be a matter of time that we
38:34were going to
38:34find something that tim couldn't let go of and of course it's the first thing here that i found that
38:40i can't live without i tell you what there was one of those signs over there the motor oil sign
38:44throw that in we'll do 600.
38:51done all right it was hard to let go of that american oil sign it was really cool and unique
38:57but i like beer better so that's okay good fun that's a good one yeah this american sign is so
39:03crisp and patriotic i almost want to salute it mike knew what he wanted he knew what the values were
39:09so we always came to a good common ground i bought 16 so globe inserts for 500 i'm gonna ask
39:1575 a piece
39:16frank was a little bit tougher come on oh but again we came to a good common ground
39:23this is heavy all right i bought the american oil sign for 600 i think it's worth at least 1200.
39:33i bought the etf watercolors for 200. i think i can get at least 800 for them
39:40thanks buddy it was an honor hey man appreciate it i made a little bit of money today so i'm
39:45going to
39:45put that towards my new venture national premium and trying to bring that back to life we might be
39:50able to find you some old brewery stuff i'll take it i would love to deal with them again see
39:55ya take it
39:56easy i tell you what i think this is the pick that pushed us over the fence on this trip
40:04oh man of
40:04course it did and if i did well on that sword it's going to be the cherry on top as
40:09soon as danny gets
40:09it appraised we'll know okay all right dude hey you want crabs i don't mind some crabs all right let's
40:15grab it up i love maryland frank and mike found a sword from a guy named harry in maryland
40:29that sword is a rare one that's a general sword so they mailed it to the shop it is up
40:35to me to
40:36have it appraised and find out what it's worth so our old friend richard ellis is coming by he is
40:40an
40:40expert in antique weapons he's a genius when it comes to this stuff okay richard so this is
40:47our lovely sword right here well i can already see it's a very fine sword it's a exquisite piece
40:54of americana the form of being a straight blade it's after 1821 instead of being a curved blade thus
41:04placing it in war of 1812 or earlier this sword was made in what they call the interbellum period which
41:10was a period between the war of 1812 and the mexican-american war in 1847 we have the grip
41:17that is a bone a lot of guys mistakenly call this ivory the gilt with the white handle tells me
41:24that
41:24this was made for dress this is nothing that would have been carried in a battle i see that makes
41:29sense
41:29it looks like a pretty fancy sword it's a dress-up sword it's it's like a fancy dude sword it
41:34is not a
41:35sword that was used on the battlefield and on the blade the first thing that i see is warranted that
41:41tells me immediately that this is an english sword it's in birmingham the humor in it all is that i'm
41:48holding a beautiful piece of americana that was made in england the english made this sword for an
41:54american retailer to issue to american officers shortly after the war of 1812 where they were fighting it
42:11it's a very nice sword and we're talking about something that's you know well on over 180 years
42:18old okay so this is a beautiful sword and it's a really cool story but what's the value on it
42:24i place a value of three thousand dollars on this sword three thousand that's awesome
42:31what did they pay for uh 1900 i think that's a good day's pay i feel the guys did very
42:38well for
42:39their first purchase of a sword of this quality i think it's beginner's luck at its best
42:49we learned a lot in the process and we still come out ahead so i think they're going to be
42:53really happy
42:53about that thank you so much richard it's nice to see you again and you know i'll see you again
42:58soon of
42:58course well i hope so we'll get together and do lunch that'd be great how many crabs you ordered
43:05uh enough for four there's only two of us i know but i was hungry back in iowa the only
43:11crabs we can
43:11get are out of a can see what i told you oh my god there we go there we go
43:16let's get one of these big
43:17ones here marilyn's been good to us so i think we deserve a fresh crab dinner all right oh yeah
43:23there
43:27it's like this mike hammer down scrunch it pull it look at that look at that getting the hang of
43:33it mm-hmm i'm not getting the hang of it i don't mind working for my food i'm a natural
43:37but i don't
43:37think mike was prepared to work so hard i'm not getting any i'm getting it i'm doing a lot better
43:42oh yeah look at that all meat look at that i can't get it this is a lot of work
43:47for not a lot of food
43:48man this doesn't feel much like a reward i'm breaking a sweat just to get one bite
43:56this is harder than picking you're picking
