00:00Let's start off with our sports betting hot topic of the day.
00:03We'll start off with the NBA.
00:04Looks like they are following suit with Major League Baseball,
00:07which is basically maxing amount of the prop bets that you can make on unders in the NBA.
00:13So that's what's coming here, folks.
00:14You're not going to be able to bet unders for extreme amounts of money.
00:17They're implementing a change as the NBA by reporting injury news
00:20and requiring teams to submit an injury report on game days between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
00:26It's also implementing the update of public injury reports every 15 minutes on NBA.com
00:30as opposed to one hour.
00:32So basically, if you're thinking of doing something salacious in the future
00:36with betting props for hundreds of thousands of dollars on the unders,
00:39that's going away, and that's a good thing too, I think.
00:42All right, how about Live Golf?
00:43Live Golf, a lot of folks are predicting this is going to be the final year of Live Golf.
00:47It looks like it was the final year of Live Golf for Brooks Koepka.
00:50He's done.
00:51He has decided that he's stepping away
00:52and is going to re-engage with the PGA Tour.
00:56He had one year left on his contract,
00:57which was worth more than $100 million.
01:00Koepka seemingly has had enough.
01:02Hasn't said, by the way, officially, that he's going back to the PGA Tour,
01:06but I'll say it for him.
01:06You know that's what is coming.
01:08All right, in the NFL, coming up this week,
01:10wow, this is the Christmas present for those of you
01:13playing against the Vikings defense.
01:15Unfortunately, looks like you can play that defense against the Vikings
01:18because J.J. McCarthy, who wasn't great to begin with,
01:21is going to pave the way by missing some time
01:24with a fractured hand to Max Brozmer.
01:27That is right.
01:28Brozmer makes yet another start.
01:30He had one of the worst starts in the history of the NFL just a few weeks ago.
01:33Unfortunately, this is what the Vikings are down to,
01:36and they're big underdogs this week, too.
01:37Here's Kevin O'Connell on having to make this change.
01:40To give you guys an update, J.J. McCarthy,
01:42we did continue to get further imaging beyond the initial X-ray
01:47and beyond even the initial MRI, got some further imaging.
01:51And it was discovered he does have a very, very small hairline fracture
01:55that was discovered in his hand.
01:58We are not expecting to have him this week.
02:01I do not think this is anything that will require surgery.
02:05You know, similar kind of recovery is kind of similar to a bone bruise.
02:09But obviously there is a small hairline fracture in there,
02:13and we'll keep you guys posted about his availability next week.
02:17Said it after the game.
02:19Been really, really happy and proud of the way J.J.
02:22through the kind of final stanza of the season here
02:26has really, really took some big steps and grown.
02:29And it's been a blast, you know, being with him every day
02:32and kind of being along that ride with him,
02:35although we've lost, you know, time to continue that throughout the season
02:39and we're, you know, experiencing again here
02:41on a fast opportunity type short week.
02:44That doesn't take away from the growth we've seen.
02:48Certainly it's not what the NFL wanted,
02:49but all three games on Christmas Day
02:51have point spreads of seven and a half or more,
02:54including the game between the Lions and Vikings tomorrow.
02:58It's just the schedule.
02:59What can we do?
03:00Meanwhile, Justin Herbert surging toward another playoff appearance
03:03did not go well for him the last time he saw the Houston Texans,
03:07of course, in the playoffs.
03:09Herbert certainly remembers that,
03:10doesn't want to throw four picks again, I would assume.
03:13Have you heard anything about yourself since then
03:18or when you watched that game back?
03:20Things you've heard specifically from how that game went?
03:24Sure hope so.
03:24I think, yeah, I think those are games that, yeah,
03:29as hard as they are to watch, you got to learn from them
03:31and, you know, like we, I was talking to Popper
03:34about all the turnovers of, you know, watch them individually
03:37and see, you know, what went wrong on this play,
03:39what you could have done differently
03:40and it's just part of the game.
03:43Unfortunately, it really didn't go our way
03:44and there's nothing I can do now to change that
03:47and so it's more so of what can you learn from it,
03:49how can you move forward
03:49and give everything you can to put this team
03:53into a position to win.
03:55Meanwhile, it looks like the Packers could have
03:57Jordan Love back off a concussion.
03:59He did participate in a walkthrough with the Packers.
04:01We'll see if he can play this week.
04:03Also, some question as to whether or not
04:04George Kittle will be able to play on Sunday night.
04:07Kittle has a mid to low ankle sprain.
04:10He has helped me to my fantasy football championship.
04:13If he can't go, I'm going to have to play his backup,
04:16Jake Tungis, not that anybody cares out there,
04:18but that's what I'm doing.
04:19Also, for those of you in the fantasy football championship
04:22with Brock Bowers,
04:24he was ruled out for the rest of the season.
04:26He's had a bunch of injuries this year.
04:28The Raiders are obviously going nowhere.
04:29It's a really tough one for I know a lot of you out there.
04:32No Bowers for the Raiders moving forward.
04:34We'll see him again next year.
04:35Had a great season when he played.
04:37Okay, last night in the Frisco Bowl,
04:39biggest big surprise to me.
04:40UNLV went down.
04:41They lost to Ohio 17 to 10.
04:45So that was one final yesterday.
04:46Also, Western Kentucky wins the New Orleans Bowl,
04:4827 to 16 over Southern Miss.
04:51And Louisville just beat out Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl,
04:5527 to 22.
04:57An annual tradition on Christmas Eve tonight.
05:00It is the Hawaii Bowl.
05:02The Warriors are one and a half point favorites against Cal.
05:05It is the only sporting event on the board tonight.
05:08In the NBA last night, the Spurs beat the Thunder again.
05:11How about this?
05:12Maybe this is the team that could take them out in the playoffs.
05:14We'll see.
05:14130 to 110.
05:16Stephon Castle had 24 points.
05:18He also knocked down three pointers.
05:21He hit four of six.
05:23That was the impressive stat there.
05:25Congrats to Mitch Johnson,
05:26who seems to have found the OKC kryptonite thus far.
05:30I think in the second half specifically,
05:33you really saw some of our early passes that in the half court created our pace.
05:38They do a great job of putting multiple bodies in front of the basketball and guarding the paint.
05:42And if you try to over-dribble or split their multiple defenders,
05:48typically it's not a great outcome.
05:52And I thought we did a good job in the second half trusting to just let the ball find the open man
05:57and let that basketball continue to chase whoever was open until they had an opportunity to hopefully have a high percentage shot.
06:03Yeah.
06:05Like the game.
06:08Like the game is going to look different every night.
06:10Like, and for me, I just never like to make it the excuse of, like, makes and misses being the outcome.
06:20We've won games where teams have shot well above what they're expected.
06:24And we've lost games where we shot above what we were expected.
06:27So it's like we, especially this basketball group and the guys on this roster that I'm confident in,
06:33we know how to win a game no matter what the makes and misses looks like.
06:36And getting back to that will help us regardless of who's hot and who's not.
06:43In the end, over the last week, we learned the Thunder will not win 80 games in the NBA this season.
06:48The Dallas Mavericks suited up nine players last night against the Denver Nuggets and somehow beat them.
06:54How about this?
06:54Cooper Flagg had 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.
06:58The Nuggets came back big in the end, but it was the victory for Dallas digging deep and Jason Kidd saying playing a limited squad because that's all he had.
07:07The whole roster.
07:09Because we have people sick, people hurt, next man up.
07:14Guys came in and executed the game plan.
07:17Ball started to fall for us.
07:19Understand that we know Denver is one of the best teams in the league and they made a run.
07:22And we just, we've been in so many close games here and just the experience of understanding what we needed to do too late and we executed and the ball fell our way.
07:32Not really.
07:35I mean, back to backs, usually we're, you know, we've been really good the last couple of years with it.
07:40The first time I thought our energy was bad was when the game started.
07:43You know, the guys were in good spirits before the game.
07:46You always ask the, you know, the workout guys how guys are before and they do their warm-ups and all that and they said everybody was good.
07:52So, you know, it just was a night where we didn't have it early.
07:56It's the second time this season we've had that.
08:00Atlanta was the other one and this one was similar that we came back, gave ourselves a chance to win.
08:03But, you know, if you put yourself in that situation, you have to play so hard to get back into the game.
08:09We just didn't have enough, you know, losing the game by one.
