00:00Oh
00:19Paul oh, he's still got a pulse. I don't know these breathe
00:30Every suspect accused of a crime has the right to
00:59Remain silent many agree to be interrogated anyway, but they can stop the interview at any moment
01:07Making it a race against time
01:11Justice hangs in the balance
01:13The scene is just chaotic we had two victims down the female victim is laying in the middle of the intersection
01:34There's a bunch of blood I
01:42Didn't feel a pulse. I couldn't see her chest rising. I
01:46Began to do CPR on her
01:48Maybe about 20 feet away or so another victim
01:53He had some sort of wound to the left side of his chest
01:57Both of the victims had lost a lot of blood and had multiple stab wounds
02:04The victims on the scene were identified as Peyton Sullivan and Felipe Negron
02:10Peyton was 17 years old and Felipe was 18 years old
02:17To see something this brutal happen at such a young age was very shocking to me
02:26There was a vehicle parked facing the west
02:43When I went and investigated there was blood all over inside the vehicle
02:50Blood outside the vehicle trails leading away from the vehicle
02:54Some blood splatter had gone in a direction differently than where the victims were found
03:01So we knew that we probably were looking for an injured suspect who was probably cut as well
03:13Witnesses at the crime scene started hearing screams and shouts and
03:18Could hear a female yelling stop and after that a male yelling stop
03:24They thought it was a male wearing the darker colors that took off from the area
03:33Unfortunately none of them could give a facial description or even a race of the suspect so we didn't really have much to go on
03:43We did have a canine unit deployed in tracking and an attempt to locate where the suspect had fled to
03:54I remember when she said we lost him. My heart just plunged to the floor
04:11I've never felt like that before and I hope to God I never will
04:16I was angry and I started shaking and I went crazy and I'm like why why did they did that to him
04:24I I should never have to outlive my son
04:33When I left the hospital my heart was hurting all I could do is feel pain
04:38Our life was never gonna be the same like we were missing a
04:45Core part of who we were
04:58We learned that Peyton had been stabbed 43 times
05:05Felipe had been stabbed 17 times
05:09This is one of the more brutal
05:12homicides I have seen
05:14When you look at like a shooting you can do that from a distance
05:17But when you're talking about a stabbing that's up close and personal
05:21This just tells you the amount of hate in them
05:26We also learned that Felipe had made a dying declaration to one of the officers and that he did give the name Tran Walker
05:33We had a name but we didn't have a story as to what had happened inside the car why it had happened
05:43Locating Tran Walker became the top priority
05:45The 9-1-1 call came in from the local grocery store in the vicinity of where the stabbings had taken place
06:01One of the workers was concerned that there was a male in the bathroom who was bleeding and was acting suspiciously
06:07I immediately asked for officers to go check on this as I knew there was a high probability that it was our suspect
06:13When I arrived at the grocery store, we knew he'd gone back to the bathrooms, so we started heading in that direction
06:23We had guns drawn I opened the door
06:27I can see this individual standing at the sink it is Tran Walker person that we're looking for
06:38He had a pretty good laceration to his finger bad enough that he needed to go to the hospital
06:57In speaking with the doctors there, I had learned that his hand had slid down the knife and nearly severed off his pinky
07:10That is important because a lot of times when you have a stabbing case when there's multiple strikes with the knife
07:17The suspect often will slip on the knife and cut their own hand
07:21They complete the medical procedure they had to do to reattach his finger
07:26And he is then transported to the Sioux City Police Department
07:31Detective Thompson and I we know very little about Tran Walker as a person
07:50He doesn't have much of a criminal history, so we were going to be very soft with him
08:02We believe that he was responsible for a double homicide
08:05We wanted closure for the family and closure for the case
08:11We need to start digging in and trying to get the confession
08:14We'll get that finger, right?
08:16Yeah
08:18Do you know why we wanted to talk to you today?
08:20Do you have any idea what's going on?
08:22Well, let's start by what happened to your hand
08:24I don't remember how it ended up like that
08:26Okay
08:28What was going on before all that happened?
08:30Where were we at?
08:32We were just driving around
08:34Okay, so you
08:36And how do you know them?
08:38And how do you know them?
08:40Um, Peyton is like from
08:42We've had known them for a while
08:44What did you guys talk about?
08:46She talked about
08:48wanting to move on and forget
08:50Mm-hmm
08:52Mm-hmm
08:54How long did you date Peyton for him?
08:56Six or seven months
08:57Peyton?
08:58Is she seeing someone else now?
09:00We don't know
09:02We haven't been talking except for today
09:04How did you feel when Peyton told you that she wanted to move on?
09:08I don't feel anything
09:10You don't care?
09:12We haven't been talking except for today
09:14How did you feel when Peyton told you that she wanted to move on?
09:16I don't feel anything
09:18I don't care
09:20What happened in the car to make things go bad?
09:22I just remember hearing stop
09:24Yeah
09:26I remember running
09:28I wound up at Hy-Vee
09:30and my hands all busted up
09:32and I was covered in blood
09:34Okay
09:36What do you mean?
09:38What do you mean?
09:40What do you mean?
09:42What do you mean?
09:44What do you mean?
09:46What do you mean?
09:48What do you mean?
09:50What do you mean?
09:52What do you mean?
09:54What do you mean?
09:56What do you mean?
09:57You remember hearingme stop?
09:59The night that my sister died, I actually woke up to the sirens driving past my house.
10:20And then I got phone calls from my parents telling me what had happened.
10:31I didn't really have any thoughts other than why or how.
10:36Peyton is my younger sister and growing up, the grown ups always said, when you're older
10:43you guys are going to be best friends.
10:45And it just really sucks that we never got that.
11:06Our job is to get him to talk about what was happening when he was allegedly blacking out.
11:13So we're going to start pressing him and kind of put him back in that situation, put him
11:17back in the car, confront him with reality.
11:20Who's saying stuff?
11:23I don't remember.
11:26What happened to Peyton and Felipe?
11:31I don't really remember.
11:33I didn't feel anything.
11:35I didn't see anything.
11:37It was like just black.
11:40Why did you run from this scene?
11:47He's saying nobody else was there.
11:49Nobody was chasing him.
11:50No one attacked him.
11:51We're just locking him into stories, getting to observe what his lies look like as far as
11:55his body language goes.
12:11All the blood.
12:12Did you ever call anybody?
12:13Oh no.
12:14What did you talk to her about?
12:18I asked her if she could pick me up.
12:20I told her I got jumped.
12:23It's really important that you tell us as much as you can about what happened.
12:27Okay.
12:28Because we're kind of getting conflicting stories.
12:31And you told your mom you got jumped, but you're telling us nobody ever attacked you.
12:36You ran away, but you don't know what you were running away from.
12:43So you're telling me you just abandoned your friends?
12:48You can see it hit him where he realizes that the story he just gave got totally torn apart.
13:06I was definitely worried that he was going to end the interview at that point.
13:10I had to do something to make him feel more comfortable.
13:13I had to make this about Tran.
13:15When you get angry, what happens?
13:18In the past, I've been angry.
13:21I would black out, and I wake up, and when I blacked out, my PS3 was destroyed.
13:29And I had time, my hands were cut up from the parts.
13:33And another time, I punched my TV.
13:38You don't want more.
13:40Like, I deal with a lot of insecurities and self-doubt.
13:46And I don't really...
13:48I don't really like myself.
13:50How do people in this world really care about you?
13:55Sometimes, I feel like they do.
14:01But then, in the back of my head, I feel like they're always out to get me.
14:06Did you feel that way tonight with Felipe and Peyton?
14:10Yeah.
14:12He had no reaction at all.
14:29Just kind of stared.
14:31Never cried, never showed any emotion.
14:34He said he felt betrayed.
14:37So now we can go and start using his own language to get the confession.
14:41It's important that you tell me the truth about what happened.
14:44I...
14:48You and I both know you know what happened.
14:53What happened tonight to provoke you?
14:55The reason I wanted to be with Peyton...
14:58I...
14:59Before this, it was, I think, last week...
15:02I...
15:04Wanted to have closure.
15:05She broke your heart, we did it.
15:07Every man can do well.
15:10We're no less or more human than you are.
15:15We all make mistakes.
15:17We're humans.
15:18That's how you react to that mistake afterwards.
15:20I'm giving you what I got.
15:25It's not the truth.
15:26Like he's already explained to you.
15:29Were you upset that Peyton didn't want to get back with you?
15:31What happened?
15:32Did you...
15:33Did they make me tell you something you didn't want to hear?
15:36We're leaving.
15:37Peyton, we're just...
15:39Laughing and joking.
15:40Yeah.
15:41They're all just sitting in the back seat.
15:42Quiet for the most part.
15:43They were up there having a good old time, right?
15:45Acting like they didn't get s*** about you right there.
15:48Yeah.
15:50Right?
15:52She didn't want anything to do with you.
15:54She wanted a blue arm.
15:57So tell us about that.
16:00You can see his body language change.
16:02His shoulders sink a little bit and, you know, his head goes down.
16:08Just kind of looked defeated.
16:10It was time for him to talk.
16:12And I asked Peyton...
16:14What was the point of us meeting?
16:18Because she...
16:19Went and talked to me.
16:21And then...
16:23She said...
16:28She said she just can't talk to me in person right now.
16:33Just a job even more.
16:34Okay.
16:35Yeah.
16:37I told her I needed to hear her say it.
16:40And she didn't love me.
16:43And she did.
16:46What do you think I was going to do, Council?
16:54Probably me.
16:55So...
16:56Kind of what I'm thinking happened is...
16:57She said I didn't love you anymore.
16:59Basically Peyton's...
17:00Rubbing it in your face.
17:02Yeah.
17:03That's kind of how it came out.
17:04Yeah.
17:05Can I s*** eat?
17:06What was Tran doing?
17:07It was really a spur-of-the-moment thing where I began talking with Tran about him in third person.
17:19Sometimes in an interview, a person will talk more about it if they can act as if they were just watching and they weren't really there.
17:29It allowed him to get some more distance from the actual murders.
17:33What was Tran doing?
17:34What was Tran doing?
17:36What was Tran doing?
17:38It was really a spur-of-the-moment thing where I began talking with Tran about him in third person.
17:42Sometimes in an interview, a person will talk more about it if they can act as if they were just watching and they weren't really there.
17:46Actual murders.
17:49What was Tran doing?
17:55I'm out of the car.
17:56But...
17:58Felipe dragged me on.
18:01And then...
18:04He's still telling me to stop.
18:06What was Tran doing?
18:11I'm still trying to think.
18:13Tran, you know what you're doing.
18:14I'm just...
18:15Afraid to say it right now.
18:20They were bleeding.
18:22Why were they bleeding?
18:25That was...
18:35That was...
18:36That was...
18:37That...
18:38That...
18:40That...
18:41That...
18:43...
18:44I don't know.
18:45You know, both things often.
18:47Covered in blood and...
18:49So when they got out of the car...
18:52...Ped it...
18:54I had her down.
18:56I had her down, and that was F.
19:06What do you think of this time?
19:10I don't know.
19:12It was just profusely.
19:19Her face was bloody in front of the down of the leg.
19:27And I think that's when three people threw me out of the car.
19:31I mean, that we do, too.
19:36What happened to make you decide to do that?
19:40I know there were a lot of things that happened that led up to this,
19:43but what final thing happened where you knew you were going to do that?
19:49The first time I broke up, I lost friends, I lost family,
19:53and then she pinned everything on me.
19:57Everything was my fault.
19:59And then that's when a part of me snapped because I had lost everything.
20:06Everything.
20:11I wanted her to feel what I felt.
20:15I wanted her to know that.
20:21Her actions went up to this.
20:23If you could say something to them, what would you say?
20:28I don't think I'd apologize to them.
20:30Right now, I don't feel sorry.
20:32I have them to say.
20:33I think I dropped it when I tripped.
20:34Would you be able to tell us where you think it's better?
20:35I don't think I'd apologize to them.
20:37I don't think I'd apologize to them.
20:41Right now, I don't feel sorry.
20:46Right now, I don't feel sorry.
20:52I have them to say.
20:57I think I dropped it when I tripped.
21:00Would you be able to tell us where you think it's better?
21:02I could show you the way.
21:03Okay.
21:16I don't know.
21:20He eventually shows us where he ran eastbound through some yards and over a fence.
21:27He found the knife laying in the backyard of a house.
21:31And speaking with those homeowners, they had security camera footage that actually showed him putting the knife back there.
21:42It all seemed to kind of come together at that point.
21:46He was transported to the jail where he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
21:58He is facing life in prison.
22:10A murder case comes to an end in a Woodbury County courthouse today.
22:14He is guilty of the offense of murder in the first degree.
22:18Nineteen-year-old Tran Walker will now spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
22:27For us, there is a closure. We know why. We know who did it. And the justice has been served. He won't ever see the light of day.
22:34I miss the way Peyton loved. I think about her a lot. I just think of her smile and how much she just was full of life.
22:52With Junior, I'd like people to remember him by a person who had a big heart.
23:04He's everywhere with me because I carry him right here. He loved Peyton as another sister.
23:11They had a special bond.
23:13And still they're going to have it up in heaven.
23:22There's a bench that faces the park that's just right where they were killed.
23:27And the memorial placard says, it's never goodbye. It's just till next time.
23:33So we put that on the bench for them.
23:36Knowing that we will see them again.
23:39We will see them again.
23:579-1-1, address of the emergency.
23:59Hi, I need an officer. Please look at the ambulance. It's really an emergency.
24:03I mean, this is really something more than an emergency.
24:06Okay, stay with me. What happened, ma'am? You've got to tell me more than just we need an ambulance.
24:13Ma'am, ma'am, tell me what happened.
24:17Is there somebody else there with you? Can somebody else speak for you?
24:21Help! Somebody help!
24:24Help me!
24:36What's going on?
24:40Help me!
24:41What's going on?
24:42Sorry!
24:44Sorry!
24:45Please hurry!
24:46Sorry!
24:47Sorry!
24:48Stay out!
24:49Get in the middle.
24:50SO4-29.
24:51Emergency.
24:52He's been stabbed.
24:53Mail's down in the tub.
24:55Come on, baby. Look, cops are here.
24:57Paul!
24:58Paul!
24:59Paul!
25:00Man, come on.
25:01I'm coming up.
25:02Paul!
25:09Paul!
25:13Just...
25:14When deputies arrived, Rachel and the victim were the only two on the scene.
25:20Rachel Clevenger identified him as Paul Ruffo.
25:23Paul!
25:24Paul!
25:25Paul!
25:26Rachel doesn't witness Paul stabbing.
25:28She hears water running in the bathroom and she goes in and finds Paul in the bathtub.
25:34He's still got a pulse.
25:35I don't know that he's breathing, but I can't give him CPR in there.
25:38He was unresponsive and they started CPR.
25:42He just started doing CPR.
25:45He's not breathing.
25:46He's got a small puncture wound.
25:50Is that his only stab wound?
25:52There was also a wound on the back of one of his arms.
25:55Let's just get him out.
25:57It's common when somebody's attacked with a knife, they'll throw up their hands and we'll
26:01typically see injuries on the back of the forearms.
26:16The first thing I noticed was a significant amount of blood on and around the porch area.
26:22I did observe a green shirt and a hat covered with blood.
26:36We noticed a significant amount of blood throughout the front yard.
26:43You can see areas that had been matted down like there was some type of struggle.
26:49We're obviously looking for a bladed weapon, but we don't find any knives that we believe
26:54are involved in this particular incident.
27:02How long do you think it was before you called?
27:09He said he walked back in the house, said that he was fine, fine, grabbed the rug,
27:12put up against him.
27:13Yeah, put it against him.
27:14He was like going to the shower, cleaning up.
27:15I was like, oh, hell no.
27:16I'm not, no.
27:17I'm going in a moment.
27:18Do you know which way the suspect went?
27:20He started walking on foot that way.
27:22What was he wearing?
27:23He was wearing camouflage pants and he had like a green shirt on, but they said the green
27:28shirt's out on the porch.
27:29Do you know who it was?
27:30It's John.
27:31It's John?
27:32You sure?
27:33Positive.
27:34Rachel is saying John Rose stabbed Paul.
27:37She indicated she had been in a relationship with John Rose, but John had gotten physical
27:44with her.
27:45So she ended the relationship and she'd been staying at Paul's house for about two weeks.
27:51Earlier in the evening, Rachel agreed to meet John via text, but was clear that she
27:57wasn't going to go home with him.
27:58What were they arguing about?
28:00They were fighting because he was like, well, I'm here to get burned myself or whatever.
28:05He gave, you know, like, my clothes and trying to get me to go home over there.
28:09And I was like, no, I'm not going over there.
28:11Like, I'm fine over a year.
28:12I was trying to fight.
28:13So there he was fighting because he wanted you to go back with him?
28:16Yeah, he wanted me to go back.
28:18John Rose had a number of domestic violence arrests.
28:21So it's important at that point to get him in custody as soon as possible.
28:30Is he in there?
28:37Tell me what room he's in so I can go and get him, talk to him about an incident, and
28:42that's it.
28:43That's all I'm asking.
28:44Nothing, I'll listen.
28:45I don't care about anything else in the house.
28:46I just want to talk to him.
28:48That's it.
28:49Now, where is he at?
28:51What room?
28:52The upstairs attic?
28:55Okay.
28:57Going to the unknown is always dangerous.
29:06I'm making sure that my partner's in the back because if you go in the front of the house,
29:1090% of people run out the back door.
29:20Drive behind your back!
29:21Do it now!
29:22Don't move!
29:23Why am I being arrested?
29:25Right now, for assault.
29:28Assault!
29:29Assault!
29:32My dad was magic.
29:50That charisma, it was, like, unstoppable.
29:57He knew how to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him.
30:03More than anything, he loved being a grandpa.
30:07He adored my kids.
30:09That was his calling.
30:13My last picture I have of my dad is of him holding my daughter.
30:16The way he's cradling her is just so gently, like she's made of glass or something.
30:22I think, um, the hardest thing for me is my kids not being able to experience the wonderful person that he was.
30:34Now we have a homicide case.
30:40He didn't deserve this.
30:43And his family deserves justice.
30:47We didn't have a whole lot of physical evidence.
31:06And we did not have a knife.
31:08That's my murder weapon.
31:12So I need that confession.
31:17I remember my dad calling that my brother was dead and he was gone.
31:32It's not like he just passed away in his sleep.
31:39Some monster took his life.
31:44For no justifiable reason.
31:47Before I talk to you, I advise you of your rights, okay?
32:00You have the right to remain silent.
32:02Anything you say can be used to get you a criminal law.
32:04You have the right to a lawyer.
32:07So you're dating Rachel Pellinger.
32:10So how long were you dating her?
32:12Four months.
32:13But she messaged me and she told me no to come over.
32:16She was making dinner.
32:17She wanted to walk over there and meet her over there.
32:21Do you know about what time this was?
32:23That you went over there?
32:24Roughly 10.30.
32:26Okay.
32:2710.30, 11 o'clock-ish.
32:28Somewhere around there.
32:29Okay.
32:30So I walked over there and she came outside and I started talking to her.
32:33Was there anybody else and you went over there this evening?
32:35No stupid problem, man.
32:37So how did this whole beef happen between you and Paul?
32:41He just does.
32:42I can't stand him, man.
32:43Because of the way he's about, the way he does.
32:46I was standing out on the porch and waiting for her.
32:49She went back in to get her stuff.
32:50She told me she was getting her stuff.
32:53He was going with you.
32:54Yeah, right.
32:55So he started getting , man.
32:56And we come out on the porch and I'm just sitting there waiting for her to come back out the door.
33:00And he said something to me.
33:02I can't remember what he said.
33:03I said something to him.
33:04Then he just blew up the handle and just started rushing me, man.
33:07He put his arm out and kind of, you know, so I grabbed him.
33:10And when I did, we both went over the rail.
33:12So you guys get to scuffling.
33:14There's really no scuffle, man.
33:16I just said it, man.
33:17I start walking off.
33:18You don't remember what he said to you?
33:20Oh, not really.
33:23You don't remember what you said to him?
33:25It was so insignificant.
33:26I could imagine anything, you know.
33:31How do you not remember something so significant?
33:35You don't even remember your own words?
33:37That's not believable at all.
33:39That's it.
33:40I just wanted to be blunt.
33:42So I thought, well, let's kind of poke the bear a little bit and see if I get any kind of reaction out of him.
33:51So you guys were dating for about four months.
33:53Listen, no more bull , all right?
33:58What did you stick him with?
34:02I stick him with?
34:04Yeah.
34:05I didn't stick him with anything.
34:06He got two stab wounds.
34:09I didn't stick him with nothing, man.
34:11We went over the rail and that was it.
34:15How on earth did he get the two stab wounds?
34:18I have not a clue, man.
34:19Not a clue.
34:23One's on the arm, almost like a defensive wound.
34:34I don't know what to say, man.
34:35You can't even look at me.
34:36I don't know what to say, man.
34:37What am I supposed to say?
34:39I went over here and picked a chick up and rolled over the rail.
34:43The truth.
34:44I know.
34:45And that's what, that's what irritated you.
34:46He'd come at you.
34:47No, that ain't what irritated me.
34:48You would go over this all night long, man.
34:50I'm not going to say I did something I didn't do.
34:53Okay.
34:54Did, did you feel threatened and, and I, no, I got up and locked.
34:58Pull a, pull a blade.
34:59Pull a blade out and cut him?
35:00I don't know what blade.
35:01I didn't have no blade.
35:02All right.
35:03I didn't stab the dude, man.
35:04I mean, the hell, she, she's the one who carries knives all the time.
35:08Maybe she stabbed his ass.
35:09All I did was go the rail backwards and my knee up.
35:12Didn't you see anything in his hand?
35:14No.
35:15Because his other hand was on his side like this when he was standing there by the rail, man.
35:18But that doesn't explain the, the defensive wound on his, on his arm?
35:22It's possible, you know, I just didn't see it.
35:24I mean, as, as I was walking away, because it was a little dark there.
35:27But, I mean, I, I don't know.
35:30Okay.
35:33See anybody else out there?
35:34Nobody else.
35:35You and him are the only two people out there explaining to John how this guy sustained two-
35:42I had no idea unless he caught something on the porch.
35:44There's nothing on the porch.
35:46He had a f***ing knife.
35:48The knife would still be there.
35:49The knife would have been on him.
35:50Unless they got rid of it.
35:51They're just trying to f***ing set me up for f***ing.
35:53Or, or he is.
35:54Because he, he didn't want her with me.
35:56I mean, I, I don't know how he got stabbed, man.
35:58I honestly don't know.
35:59I don't know how he got stabbed.
36:05I saw him, man.
36:08He's dead.
36:09Hmm?
36:10Oh my f***ing God, dude.
36:11And you're getting charged with murder.
36:12No way, man.
36:13Oh my God.
36:15Look at the f***ing prison.
36:16I'm getting f***ing assaulted myself.
36:17I'm getting f***ing assaulted myself.
36:18Oh my God.
36:19Look at the f***ing prison.
36:22I'm getting f***ing assaulted myself.
36:29The problem is you two are the only two people in that yard.
36:35At some point you stabbed him, John.
36:41At some point you stabbed him.
36:42You understand Rachel is saying that you came over there and there was a really bad confrontation
37:02between you and Paul.
37:03between you and you understand she's a witness but that she's given us a
37:09completely different version she's not reliable so anyway maybe she did and she
37:16took the knife and hit the knife who knows yes this is done we'll take you
37:26back I don't believe this you gotta let it sink in because he's dead and you're
37:32getting charged with murder I wasn't getting anywhere else with John he stuck
37:37with his very simplistic story something that he could remember which portrayed
37:42him as the victim so we're gonna go dig up other evidence
38:02text messages on John's phone show that he's jealous he's infatuated with her
38:12and he would do anything even kill to get Rachel back
38:20Marie Rose said it was around 11 o'clock that John Rose came home and made the comment that he may
38:38have stabbed somebody armed with that information I went back into jail and
38:44that's when he said he wanted to speak with me
38:45he said he wanted to talk to me what's going on
38:55she called and she wanted me to come over there you know talk to her she said she's making dinner
39:02and whatnot and she sounded like she really didn't want to be there I come the doors open and
39:09everything which is kind of you know kind of fishy or something you know me so Paul was arguing it all
39:16hyper and so uh you know right then I said take something something's gonna not be right there
39:23mm-hmm and uh she comes out and you know when she talks to me for a little bit and she's crying on my
39:29shoulder and all this time this guy's in there going nuts in the house acting crazy you know so uh
39:36actually I know um she goes in she starts getting her clothes and that's when you know I'm thinking
39:43something's gonna happen so I had a knife in my hand I didn't I didn't have no intentions on using
39:51it I just I was holding it in my hand I don't know why I was worried about her worried about me he comes
39:57out and he stands next to me next to the thing while she's in there getting her clothes together then
40:01he just came at me I didn't even know he was coming went over a rail and that was it I didn't
40:06know anything happened till I was almost to the street you don't recall the point where you
40:10you stabbed him no I don't it had to happen when he went over on top of me I mean I was I really
40:18was worried about her and me cuz I love her listen I I know that I know this is hard and I know that
40:27if he wants to spin this tale that Paul Ruffo is the aggressor then I'll let him spin that tale
40:38all right got him to say that he had a knife in his hand and that's a victory we know that you
40:46went back to your ex-wife's place there and listen she gave a statement saying when you walked in you
40:53went in her bedroom and you said I think I just killed a guy I didn't say I killed a guy that's what
40:57she said she's such a liar but I mean how would she know that I told her I did something I shouldn't
41:03have that's what I said what did you end up doing with the knife I I don't remember what I did with it
41:09if you if we took you down there would you be able to possibly point out all right come on up come on with
41:20me so as I'm driving southbound on Dunbar he says I threw it in back one of these two yards
41:35we did locate a green Gerber knife it was about two houses north of where Paul lived
41:47it was determined that Paul Ruffo's DNA was on the blade
41:52I took John back to the county jail John Rose is a man that can't control his emotions or his anger
42:02and he's getting charged with murder and he's not going anywhere Paul deserves justice
42:07when we went to court I was shaking so hard but it was important for the murderer to know that my dad
42:19dad was a treasure and it's a huge loss for us
42:31it is absolutely unforgivable what he did the fact that he can never be out that is justice to me my life has
42:42never been the same sense I miss you know his sense of humor and just the way that he would make me laugh and all the inside jokes
42:51I'm still waiting for him to call I'm still waiting for him to send me a letter because it still doesn't feel
42:57it doesn't feel it doesn't feel right and it doesn't feel real that he's gone
