00:26This guy has no regard for anybody else in the road.

01:14ran the license plate on a red truck.
01:16It came back as stolen, and after the driver blew through this red light, the corporal
01:22turned on his lights and siren, but the suspect sped off.
01:27Now, as the driver crosses over into the opposite lane of traffic, Corporal Tortora has a tough

01:48camera to night vision for better tracking.

01:52Air 1 has just now come up.
01:53I thought they're going to get on now, trying to light things up.

05:12Payton, who officers say admitted to car hopping,
05:15was transported to a hospital to be treated for lacerations and punctures on both of his
05:20legs from the canine bites.
05:22The Department of Juvenile Justice later took custody of the teen, whose identity was made
05:27public despite his minor status per Florida law.
05:31He was charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft, along with fleeing, eluding, possession
05:36of a firearm by a minor, and resisting law enforcement.
05:41He was adjudicated delinquent and ordered to serve 15 days of secure detention, followed
05:46by probation until age 19.
05:50Next, we're in Healy, Alaska, where state troopers are in pursuit of a suspected drug dealer who's on the run and shooting at them.
06:03Earlier, troopers got an alert from the narcotics squad that 45-year-old Michael Grimes, a convicted felon
06:10and suspected drug dealer they'd been surveilling, was headed their way, armed, and potentially transporting drugs.
06:18Also in the car, Grimes' girlfriend, 42-year-old Melody Perry, whose past record includes a conviction for theft.
06:26Troopers had already set a position outside of town in order to reduce the risk to civilians.
06:33Troopers activated their lights and sirens and quickly caught up to the suspects, who, at first, appeared to be complying.
06:54Trooper Aaron Mobley circled around in front of the suspect's truck to block him off, but he managed to swerve his way out of the trap and take off.
07:02Now, troopers further up the road set up spike strips, and as the suspects approach...
07:14Did we get spikes? Did we get spikes?
07:18We had two good spikes. I don't know if they start deflating in or not.
07:23About a minute later, the effects of the stop sticks begin to kick in.
07:27And as the driver begins to slow down, trooper Nathan Hollenbeck moves in to attempt a pit maneuver.
07:39Though the pit is unsuccessful, it manages to slow the suspects down even more, and the troopers quickly surround them.
07:46But when trooper Mobley pulls up next to him, the driver reacts.
07:51No! That's right!
07:53Shot fired! Shot fired!

08:12With the situation quickly escalating and approaching a heavily populated area, trooper Trevor Norris takes the lead and returns fire through his windshield.
08:21The suspect retaliates.
08:26And the two become engaged in a life-or-death shootout.
08:36The damaged truck now slows to a stop in the middle of the road.
08:42Troopers quickly exit their vehicles and take cover behind Norris' cruiser.
08:49Then, as the truck begins to roll forward...
08:55The troopers open fire.
08:57Shot fired!
08:58When the shooting stops, troopers address the passenger in the truck.
09:02Passenger! Exit the door now!
09:05Passenger! Put your hands outside! Open the door from the outside! Keep your hands visible!
09:11The passenger exits the vehicle and complies with officer's orders.

10:12Remember, guns!
10:13Guns!
10:14Yep!
10:15Medics arrived to provide aid, but the suspect is pronounced dead at the scene.
10:24An autopsy later concluded that Grimes' death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot.
10:30In addition to his gun, troopers found multiple magazines on the suspect and under the vehicle's tailgate.
10:37They also found 2.6 kilos of methamphetamine, 257 grams of fentanyl powder, and 111 grams of fentanyl pills.
10:47Harry, Grimes' girlfriend, was unharmed during the incident, but was found to be in possession of a pistol.

12:02The suspect managed to make it back into his SUV, throw it in reverse, and slam into the trooper's cruiser before taking off.
12:15He just took off and struck the front of my car.
12:18I'm in.
