00:00We can take you to Joplin, Missouri. Mild start to the weekend there, but on Sunday we get much colder.
00:05That MoDOT cam there, 7th and range line in Joplin, Missouri.
00:09As we take you up into areas around far northern parts of the plains right now, though, we're at 6 below 0 in Fargo.
00:16It's cold, really cold.
00:17And a day or two ago we talked about how we were in the 70s in the middle of the afternoon in Goodland, Kansas.
00:2245 there now.
00:23Denver, big contrast here.
00:2523 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, but 59 in Denver, Colorado as the sun has set.
00:30But we're going to be dealing with, again, the area north of Denver facing the worst of this stripe of snow right across the north central plains.
00:37South Dakota, northern parts of Nebraska, and, again, parts of this storm still in progress even in big sky country.
00:45Montana facing some heavy snow.
00:47Some of the high ground seeing over a foot of snow.
00:49So Saturday, here is the stripe of snow, and it's almost directly on top of a preceding clipper that rolled through just yesterday.
00:58So, again, this is dumping more snow in the same stripe.
01:02We've had areas with 1 to 3 or 3 to 6 inches recently.
01:05Another 1 to 3 in the light blue.
01:073 to 6 inches of snow expected from southeast Iowa, Peoria, Illinois, Indianapolis, right down I-70 east into areas from Columbus south.
01:15The worst of this will be probably late afternoon and evening there in Ohio, carrying through the evening and into the night.
01:21And then behind this, really, really cold air rolls in.
01:24Bitterly cold, 15 to 30 degrees below the historical averages.
01:27The furnaces will be cranking on high, and you're going to be dumping some extra wood into the fireplace.
01:34So, overall, a very, very cold weekend initially in the northern plains.
01:38The north side of this Alberta clipper, here it is, into Iowa, western parts of Illinois, and then Indianapolis and eastward.
01:45We're facing this hard hit of snow.
01:48And, overall, behind this, the snow is one story, but the frigid Arctic air is another big one.
01:54And we're going to be breaking a record low in Spencer, Iowa, Sunday morning.
01:58We're forecasting 23 degrees below zero in Spencer.
02:02The record 20 below set twice, 1914 and 1926.
02:06We also expect to break a record low in Peoria, Illinois, and a record-tying low of seven below zero in Springfield, Illinois.
02:13So, very cold NFL action on Sunday.
02:15Extraordinarily cold here, as well, in Cincinnati.
02:18Temperatures limping to 12.
02:19Accu-weather, real field temperature hovering near zero.
02:22Cleveland at Chicago.
02:23Soldier Field bundle up.
02:25Accu-weather, real field temperatures below zero for at least the first half of the game.
02:30But, Adam, the northeast has seen some snow, and we finally are going to fill in that snow hole over I-95.
