00:00One interesting point about Israel, which I also found out this week, is that they are about to launch the iron beam protection.
00:10Which means that they are developing, this is an anti-missile, missile protection.
00:16You know that they've got the iron dome which fires missiles against missiles and it's like a bullet hitting a bullet and they hit them out.
00:23It's very expensive, but it's possible to do and it doesn't always work.
00:27But they're now developing lasers which can fire and hit any incoming missile, whether it's a drone or a missile.
00:34Can pick them out instantly and using AI and all sorts of incredible technology can destroy missiles as they come in.
00:43If they can get this working effectively then Israel has a security shield around it.
00:47Which could also have a prophetic significance.
00:50Is Israel no longer being threatened by all these horrible missiles which they've been sending up over against them.
00:59So that's an interesting development.
01:02But I just want to move on to think about, we talked about Iran and just to think about the environmental crisis.
01:08One of the things the Bible also indicates about the last days is that the end times is going to be an environmental crisis affecting the world.
01:15You've got a number of prophecies.
01:17Including in the book of Isaiah chapter 24.
01:21If I can find it.
01:30Yeah, Isaiah 24.
01:36Verse 3, it says,
01:37The land, and the word is actually Haaretz, the world, the earth, shall be entirely emptied and plundered.
01:42For the Lord has spoken this word.
01:45Verse 4, the earth mourns and fades away, the world government, the world languishes and fades away.
01:50The haughty people of the earth languish.
01:52The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants because they've transgressed the laws, changed the ordinances, broken the everlasting covenant.
02:00Therefore the curse has devoured the earth and those who dwell in it are desolate.
02:04Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men are left.
02:08So this is an end time prophecy, it's called the apocalypse of Isaiah.
02:12It speaks about a time when the earth itself is going to become desolate as a result of the actions of humans.
02:18It says in this translation, the earth is defiled under its inhabitants.
02:23It could also be translated, the earth is polluted under its inhabitants.
02:26And it says that there's going to be connection between breaking the covenants, the covenant which God made with humans.
02:33One covenant to look after the earth, to care for it.
02:36And breaking that covenant is going to cause massive destruction, including people being burned, a few men being left.
02:45Is that a prophecy of global warming?
02:48It could be.
02:50You have another interesting prophecy in the book of Revelation, chapter 8.
03:02Now this is definitely a prophecy of the events in the tribulation period, this last seven year period.
03:08And on one level it is a prophecy of certain supernatural things which are going to happen during that time.
03:14But as I was looking at it, it seemed to me it also underlines the basic things which are going wrong in the environment today.
03:22So I'll just read it to you.
03:24Revelation 8, verse 6 said,
03:27So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
03:31The first angel sounded, and hail and fire followed, mingled with blood.
03:35They were thrown to the earth, and a third of the trees was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
03:41The second angel sounded, something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
03:48And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
03:52A third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch.
03:57And it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
04:00The name of the star is Wormwood.
04:02A third of the waters became Wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
04:07And the fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars,
04:12so that the third of them were darkened.
04:14And the third of the day did not shine, likewise the night.
04:19Now you've got sort of very strong language there, and you could say,
04:23is this going to literally happen, or is it figurative?
04:25But if you analyse what it's saying here, that there's going to be a crisis which is going to hit,
04:29first of all, the vegetation and the trees.
04:31So you're going to see them withering up and being burnt up.
04:35Then something's going to be poured into the sea, which is going to cause the fish to die.
04:39There's going to be some kind of pollution of the sea.
04:41Then the rivers and the springs are going to come bitter, and you won't be able to drink from the bitter.
04:46So some pollution, something's going to happen, which is going to affect the waters of the rivers.
04:51And something's going to happen in the atmosphere, so that you can't see the sun and the moon.
04:56You could say these things are definite judgments coming, but if you look at them in general,
05:01all of those things are happening as a result of human mismanagement of the earth.
05:06Seeing trees burned up, vegetation dying, fish dying in the sea as a result of pollution,
05:12seeing waters being polluted in the rivers, and you're seeing the air being polluted in some cities,
05:17including actually Tehran, Delhi.
05:20There are times when you can't see the sun and the moon because of the pollution in those cities.
05:24So you're seeing these things happening in embryo in our time, which I find kind of interesting.
05:30And so you've got this environmental crisis which is coming.
05:40So, is that what it's leading to?
05:42And also, of course, you have a lot of prophecies which speak about famine.
05:46Jesus spoke about famine as one of the signs.
05:49As a result of environmental things happening, floods and droughts,
05:53you're seeing food production being destroyed in various parts of the earth.
05:56As a result of the war in Ukraine, there's a whole supply of the world's food
06:01which has been cut off because of war.
06:03You're seeing things happening which are attacking the world's food supply.
06:06And some of the crazy things our government are doing is actually not doing as much help
06:11for the food supply of this country.
06:13So you're seeing, generally, things happening in the world which are attacking the food supply,
06:18which is another sign of the prophecies.
06:21Now, where do we stand on the subject of climate change?
06:25There are a lot of people in the prophecy movement who say that this is part of the world government conspiracy
06:31to believe that there is this climate change and it's a part of the plan towards world government.
06:36Maybe it is part of the plan towards world government,
06:39but I think we can't deny that something is happening in the climate.
06:42There is a change which is taking place.
06:45And we can't avoid that it's happening.
06:53There are changes taking place.
06:55And I'm going to give you one or two examples which show you that it's definitely happening.
06:58Now, whether it is because we're burning fossil fuels, that's another question.
07:01Some people say it's not.
07:04Another point is that they're trying to, I've mentioned before about in Iran, they're trying to cloud seed,
07:10which is another thing taking place.
07:12And one of the things we see happening in the world today is an increase in two things, droughts and floods.
07:18So you've got to ask, why are these happening?
07:23Maybe we don't even have to ask the question why they're happening, but to face the fact that they are happening.
07:29You're seeing a huge increase in very big droughts and floods, even in this country.
07:35You know, the other day we were in the Midlands, we went to Rutland Water, which is the biggest reservoir in England.
07:43And the water was way down.
07:45In fact, it showed that there were villages which had been flooded when they put the reservoir there.
07:50Now the villages have been on the surface.
07:54And we had an exceptionally dry spring and summer in this country.
07:59Iran, much worse.
08:01Parts of Southern Africa, much worse.
08:04Namibia, they're really struggling for water.
08:07Many parts of Africa, there's major droughts, which means there's no food.
08:11People are suffering with the basic needs.
08:16You've also got floods in various places as well.
08:21And because of these things, you have things like the Climate Change Conference, which took place last month in Brazil.
08:28When you've got the nations coming together to try to work out the problem.
08:33And this again is an interesting development because you've got an emerging kind of world government
08:38trying to impose some solution on the climate question.
08:42But at the same time now it's kind of falling apart.
08:45America didn't go and there's disagreement.
08:47Actually the Green Lobby was really disappointed with this because they didn't pass any resolutions about limiting fossil fuels.
08:54They just made some resolutions to give money from the rich countries to the poor countries to help them out with their climate problems.
09:01Which won't actually solve anything.
09:03Now one of the problems is that if we say that it's true that we have the burning fossil fuels is affecting the world's climate.
09:16Then we have got to stop burning fossil fuels.
09:21Problem is if we do stop using fossil fuels, then civilizations like ours actually fall apart.
09:29Because we need, we're never going to get enough electricity from Green Lobby to keep the system going.
09:35And even if you try, you've got to build the plants which are usually using a lot of energy and then you've got to destroy them.
09:43And it's not going to work.
09:45You cannot solve, you cannot supply a city like London and all the big cities of the world just on green.
09:53It's not going to work.
09:55Even though Ed Midlands wants to push us in that direction.
09:58And anybody knows it's not going to work.
10:00So you're going to have to keep using fossil fuels.
10:03If that's the problem, then we're doomed really.
10:10And it's shown that actually the fossil fuels are increasing dramatically.
10:15Especially in third world countries like, well I couldn't use the word third world, developing countries they used to say now isn't it?
10:21Especially in India, Indonesia, all these countries are using huge amounts of fossil fuels.
10:27So the amount of fossil fuels is not going down in the world.
10:30It's increasing.
10:31If that's the case, according to the Green Lobby, then the climate is going to go up.
10:35And we're heading towards things which are going to cause extinction on the human level.
10:41If we do get, if we do get rid of them, if we had no fossil fuels at cool in this country,
10:48when we tried to run everything on the Green Lobby, your electricity would go down, your food supply would go down, your transport would go down,
10:55our society would actually face such a radical change that it would not be able to continue.
11:00Because we built the system already.
11:02So we've got this kind of aparia situation I was talking about earlier, a crisis with no way out.
11:08No one's got a solution.
11:10Only the Lord coming back can solve it.
11:15Now the Bible does indicate that, actually I've already read this one so we'll go on to that.
11:21Yeah, so it does indicate that this is going to be the situation in the last days.
11:26You're going to have this crisis and no one's going to have a solution to it.
11:31I've got a lot of things which are happening in the world which indicate it's taking place.
11:43This is actually taken from Siberia.
11:46Anybody like to go to Siberia?
11:49Coldest place in the world.
11:51As you know, Siberia is, temperatures go down to minus 50.
11:58As a result of the freezing temperature, Siberia has something called permafrost underneath the ground.
12:04So there's whole areas which the ground is permanently frozen.
12:09And they build houses and transportation systems on the permafrost.
12:14The problem is that the temperature is definitely rising in the north of Russia.
12:17And you can measure it. It's gone up two or three degrees.
12:21As a result of this rising temperature in the north of Russia, the permafrost is melting.
12:26And houses like this are falling into it.
12:29And all over Siberia and north of Russia, I think also in Alaska, I'm not sure about Alaska,
12:35but certainly in Russia you've got this problem of houses falling down.
12:41Also pipelines are broken because of it.
12:44They built pipelines over the permafrost.
12:46The pipeline then cracks and spills all over the place which adds to the environmental problem.
12:51That's happening in Russia today.
12:54And Russia's got no way to solve it because they haven't got any money.
12:57They've spent all their money on useless war in Ukraine.
13:00Generally their infrastructure is falling apart all over Russia.
13:05And they're not going to be able to fix this one.
13:08So it's another no way out situation which is affecting the lives of people who live in that part of the world.
13:16And it's a sign that we have to say the temperature is rising.
13:20There's no other explanation for why this is happening.
13:22As it happens then also methane is released from the permafrost,
13:26which also affects the climate and causes that to rise as well.
13:31China and East Asia have not had droughts.
13:39They've had torrential rains.
13:41I've just seen a video showing the rains and the floods in China.
13:47It's quite horrific.
13:49In October 25th, they had an unbelievably strong rainstorm which caused dams to collapse.
13:59So you've got a dam breaking in China.
14:01The floods inundated the cities, the agricultural land.
14:05They experienced a catastrophic series of dam failures due to extreme wet conditions.
14:14Which led to flooding and including flooding in Beijing itself
14:21when a major dam failed in the north of Beijing.
14:24The video also showed some of the results.
14:31Wuhan, the place where Covid came from, has been underwater.
14:37Nanjing, underwater.
14:38A million people have been evacuated.
14:40Roads have become impossible, impassable.
14:43Farms and livelihoods along the riverbank have gone.
14:46Millions of tons of food have been lost.
14:49Industrial zones along the riverbank have cascaded into the river.
14:55Which has caused contamination from the industrial chemicals to go into the rivers.
15:00And in fact China's rivers are heavily polluted.
15:03I think that 10% of the rivers in China are beyond any kind of use for drinking or anything like that.
15:09Because of the pollution in that part of the world.
15:12So you can see this catastrophic thing taking place.
15:16And one of the problems is the building of dams.
15:22I'll come onto that in a moment.
15:24But it's not just in China.
15:26There are floods now in Indonesia, Vietnam.
15:28I think you talked about Philippines.
15:31In the Punjab in Pakistan there was unprecedented flooding earlier.
15:35Which submerged thousands of villages.
15:37Devastated millions of acres of farmland.
15:40Destroying rice, sugarcane, maize and vegetables and cotton.
15:44Displacing over 2 million people.
15:46And killing I think half a million animals.
15:52So these things are happening much more frequently and much more intensely than they have happened before.
15:58Whatever we think about global warming and climate change.
16:01We can't deny that these things are happening.
16:03And they're happening much more intensely.
16:05I mentioned dams.
16:08One of the features also of our time has been the building of dams.
16:11And I did a bit of research into this.
16:13It's quite interesting.
16:14But building large dams for hydroelectric power and for irrigation.
16:19Seen by many as a way out of poverty and a way to develop their countries.
16:24Including in China.
16:26But when they do that it disrupts the natural flow of the rivers.
16:30And causes a change in the agriculture and the way that farming has been done for millennia.
16:37So you have changes which take place.
16:39One of the places it's really affected is the Tigris-Euphrates Valley.
16:46They built huge dams in Turkey.
16:51Which are put where the headwaters.
16:52If you look at the map you see the headwaters of the Tigris and Euphrates.
16:55Which go down into Syria and into Iraq.
16:57Into the Persian Gulf.
16:59Found in Turkey.
17:01As a result of this the flow of waters.
17:06And also as a result of lack of rainfall.
17:08The flow of water in the Euphrates has dripped dramatically.
17:12So now there's the river.
17:15It says the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates.
17:20And its water was dried up.
17:22Another prophetic sign.
17:24But it's happening.
17:25Happening now.
17:26I mentioned this one.
17:28This is the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam in Egypt.
17:33Built by Ethiopia.
17:35Which impacts the waters of the White Nile.
17:38Which flow into the Blue Nile.
17:40And then flow into Egypt.
17:42And Egypt is very worried about this.
17:47Because it's only just been built.
17:49It's a hydroelectric power station.
17:51Got a big lake behind it now.
17:53And Egypt's worried because it's going to affect its water supply.
17:57Egypt and Sudan fear that their water supply will be affected.
18:04Especially if there are droughts affecting agriculture and livelihoods.
18:07And of course that's the city of Cairo.
18:10Egypt was built on the Nile.
18:12Without the Nile Egypt is just desert.
18:16But now it's ancient civilization going right back to Bible times.
18:21To the pharaohs and Joseph and Moses.
18:25All because of this river.
18:27If this river goes, Egypt is finished.
18:31And Egypt has already been affected by a dam which they built.
18:34This was quite interesting as well.
18:36Because it's going to tie in with another prophecy I'm going to read to you.
18:38This is the Aswan Dam.
18:41That's taking it from space.
18:44There's the river going out and there's a big lake behind it.
18:47It's somewhere here on the map.
18:49You can see there's a lake behind it.
18:51And it flows into the river Nile which goes up through Cairo to the Nile Delta there.
18:57Now the dam's construction was actually built by the Russians in 1960 as a gift to Egypt.
19:04And it supplies them with hydroelectric power.
19:08It's been a very mixed blessing because as a result of this dam.
19:12It dams up the river, the water which comes down from Central Africa.
19:17And it disrupted the natural flow of the Nile River.
19:20Which in normal times, and this was happening way back in the Bible times.
19:26The Nile would flood.
19:28And the Nile River would flood in this area here.
19:31And as it flooded, its waters would go out into the surrounding region.
19:34And because it came down from Africa, it had all these nutrients
19:38which had come in from it being brought down from Central Africa.
19:42And when it flooded, it put all sorts of good stuff into the soil
19:46so Egypt could then grow crops and make this a very fertile part of the world.
19:51Round to the Nile Delta there.
19:53In fact, in the time of the New Testament, Egypt was the bread basket of the Roman Empire.
19:59Do you know that?
20:01You read that, in fact, Paul was on a grain ship heading from Egypt to Rome.
20:05So Egypt was very fertile.
20:08Now as a result of this dam being built down here,
20:11what's happened is that all the fertile, all the nutrients which came down from Africa
20:16are now stuck behind the lake here.
20:20They don't go up.
20:22So no longer is Egypt being fed with this fertile stuff,
20:26which caused floods but it also helped them with the agriculture.
20:29So centuries, millennia in fact, of agriculture in Egypt has been changed because of this dam.
20:34So now instead of putting the natural resources which come through the flooding of the river,
20:40they have to put fertilizers on the banks to fertilize their food.
20:45The fertilizers are then washed into the river and they affect the river downstream,
20:51which has also affected the fertility of the lower part, especially in the Delta area, and killed the fish.
21:00So the dam has actually created an ecological crisis in Egypt,
21:06which is kind of interesting because there is a prophecy in the book of Isaiah.
21:12And I find this fascinating, but it's sad, but it's also fascinating.
21:17In the book of Isaiah, chapter 19, which is a prophecy about Egypt,
21:23and it has a prophecy relating to the last days, it says,
21:25the waters shall fail from the sea, the river shall be wasted and dried up,
21:29the river will turn foul, the brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up,
21:34the reeds and rushes will wither, the paris reeds by the river, by the mouth of the river,
21:39and everything sown by the river will wither and be driven away and will be no more.
21:43The fishermen will also mourn, all those will lament, who cast hooks into the river,
21:49and they will anguish who spread nets on the waters.
21:54Those who work in fine flax, those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed,
21:58and its foundations will be broken, and all who make wages will be troubled in Seoul.
22:03So there it's speaking about some kind of ecological crisis which affects the river of Egypt.
22:08And these things are happening now.
22:13And I find it fascinating that you've got, in the Bible you have two big rivers,
22:17the Euphrates and the Nile.
22:19And Bible prophecy says that something is going to happen in the last days
22:22which will affect both of these two big rivers.
22:25Now obviously they didn't know much about the Amazon and the Mekong River in East Asia,
22:31but I wonder if it's a kind of sign that the Bible is saying that there's going to be this thing which is going to affect the ecology of the world in the last days.
22:42And I believe we have to realise that this is part of what's happening in our time in our world.
22:50Another thing which you notice is that many of these countries which I've mentioned are actually countries which are provoking God in some way.
23:01Particularly Iran, its Islamist police state oppressing the people,
23:06its weapons against Israel, persecuting the Christians.
23:10And supporting anti-Christ dictatorships around the world.
23:19Russia, with its Putin-style police state, pursuing war against Ukraine,
23:26suppressing true Christians with a corrupt mafia regime.
23:30And of course we can't say that we're perfect either.
23:35And when you look at these things you can see that there's an element of natural things happening like climate change.
23:42I think we have to say that climate change is happening.
23:44We have to say that there is pollution, there is destruction of the environment.
23:48There's also the element of the judgment of God.
23:52And when you look at the prophecies of the Bible, it's clear that there's going to be this judgment.
23:57In fact, the Isaiah passage I read to you speaks about this happening as a curse devouring the earth
24:03because the inhabitants of the world are disregarding God's covenant.
24:08And as we look at the world today, we can see that as the world becomes more and more anti-God and anti-Christian,
24:13there is this judgment coming upon the world.
