01:12so the title of my talk tonight is the house on the sand the 12th imam and the prince of
01:17persia
01:19work that one out i'll read you the scriptures which are relevant and then we'll look into
01:24this subject first of all the house on the sand obviously is from matthew chapter 7
01:30and verse 24 matthew 27 verse 24 words of jesus in the sermon on the mount therefore whoever hears
01:38these sayings of mine and does them i will liken him to a wise man who built his house on
01:43the rock
01:44and the rain descended the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house and it did not
01:48fall for it was founded on the rock but everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not do
01:54them
01:54will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and the rain descended the floods came
02:01and the winds blew and beat on that house and it fell and great was its fall
02:08and in the book of daniel a passage from chapter 10
02:15daniel has a vision and a visitation from an angel and we read from chapter 10 verse 7
02:25and i daniel alone saw the vision for the men who were with me did not see the vision but
02:30a great
02:30terror fell upon them so that they fled to hide themselves therefore i was left alone when i saw this
02:36great vision and no strength remained in me for my vigor was turned to frailty in me and it retained
02:42no strength yet i heard the sound of his words and when i heard the sound of his words i
02:47was in a deep
02:48deep sleep on my face with my with my face to the ground suddenly a hand touched me which made
02:55me tremble
02:56on my knees and on my palms of my hand and he said to me oh daniel man greatly beloved
03:01understand the
03:03words that i speak to you and i and stand upright for i've been now been sent to you while
03:08he was
03:08speaking this word to me i stood trembling then he said to me do not fear daniel for from the
03:14first
03:15day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your god your words were heard
03:20and i've come because of your words but the prince of the kingdom of persia withstood me 21 days
03:26and behold michael one of the chief prince princes came to help me and i've been left alone with the
03:32kings of persia now i've come to make you know understand what will happen to your people in
03:37the latter days for the vision refers to many days yet to come when he has spoken such words to
03:44me i
03:44turned my face towards the ground and became speechless and suddenly one like the likeness of
03:49the sons of men touched my lips and i opened my mouth and spoke saying to him who stood before
03:54me
03:54my lord because of this vision my sorrows have overtop well me and i've retained no strength
04:00for how can this servant of my lord speak with you my lord for to me no strength remains in
04:06me
04:06now nor is there any breath left in me then again the one having the likeness of man touch me
04:12and
04:12strengthen me and he said oh man greatly beloved fear not the peace be with you be strong yes be
04:19strong so when he spoke to me i was strengthened and he said to me i let the lord speak
04:23for you have
04:24strengthened me then he said do you not know why i have come to you and now i must return
04:29to fight
04:30with the prince of persia when i have gone forth indeed the prince of trees will come but i tell
04:36you
04:36what is noted in the scripture of truth no one upholds me against these except michael your prince
04:43quite a mysterious passage we'll look at that a little bit later obviously has something to do with
04:47persia something to do with michael something to do with greece we'll see how that all fits in
04:54together with the theme also of the house on the sand and the house on the rock
05:00we're living in very tumultuous times events taking place particularly in the land of persia or iran
05:08affecting israel and affecting the whole world just watched a talk by a man called brit gillette who's
05:16an american prophecy teacher and he said quote we're watching nothing less than a live unfolding
05:23catastrophe in the middle east with life-altering consequences for everyone on the planet the
05:29greatest energy shock the world has ever seen even if the war stops tomorrow results are bad
05:34and some are irreversible
05:38well on the 14th of march donald trump claimed victory saying he destroyed iran's air force
05:44navy and underground missile silos and decapitated much of its leadership also its nuclear sites
05:52put out terms for iran to surrender with a promise to rebuild iran and make it bigger better and stronger
05:59than ever before on 21st of march when i was writing this article which i'm writing for the
06:05light for last days there's no sign of victory iran is hit back intensifying its attacks on israel
06:11and oil and gas natural facilities in the around the gulf raising the stakes in a war that is sending
06:18shock waves throughout the global economy yesterday 150 people were injured in israel
06:24uh they fit the tanaviv railway station high for oil refinery and even jerusalem in fact the rocket
06:32which was i think intercepted over jerusalem fragments fell not too far from the holy sites
06:38from the western wall and from the dome of the rock even one wonders what will happen if they'd
06:44actually hit the dome of the rock uh there was some fragments which all fell on the church of the
06:49holy sepulchre so the old city of jerusalem's even been under attack
06:55they also launched missiles yesterday at arad in the south and at demona demona is the site of
07:02israel's nuclear reactor nuclear power station if they actually hit the nuclear power station
07:07it could have caused a nuclear disaster
07:12we also see that at the present time israel is being blamed by many for the situation
07:16and it's going to lead to much more hostility to israel in the days to come that's for sure
07:23apart from that the uh strikes have sent the fuel prices soaring as you may have noticed if you
07:28filled your car up recently they've drawn iran's arab neighbors directly into the conflict
07:35and iran is targeting energy production in the region and putting its stranglehold on the strait of
07:41humus through which a fifth of the world's oil and natural gas is transported
07:47also a third of the world's fertilizers go through that strait and the present time disruption of the
07:53fertilizers uh means that the crops will not be that they're needed for the crops which are being
08:00planted at the present time in many nations uh they also find a missile at the diego gaza garcia base
08:09which is 2500 miles away from iran and it's believed that they have a missile which is capable of flying
08:154000 miles which could in theory hit london
08:20so these are things happening right now uh probably the major thing which is affecting
08:25the world is the uh attack on the oil supplies energy in particular
08:32uh and the if that continues it could create a global recession as supply chains dry up
08:39and factories can no longer operate and prices go through the roof
08:44now the u.s has just attacked the iran's karg island through which 90 percent of iran's oil exports go
08:51and israel also hits the pars gas field which is the world's largest natural gas field
08:58shared by iran and also by qatar contains roughly one third of the world's known reserves accounting
09:05for 10 percent of natural gas global gas production serving as a critical 90 percent of iran's domestic
09:12electricity uh yesterday i think was it the day before donald trump threatened to hit iran's power
09:18stations in 48 hours if they don't open the straits of homers i think that the time runs up tomorrow
09:27iran has said if they do that then they will hit all of the uh infrastructure the fuel and energy
09:33infrastructure in the aber in the neighborhood hit information technology desalination infrastructure
09:39belonging to the u.s and the regime in its allies will be targeted they hit those things especially
09:46the desalination plants which the gulf states actually rely on for their fresh water
09:50would be catastrophic for the region
09:54uh they hit the qatar gas field which knocked out 17 percent of qatar's lng capacity
10:01uh and it says that they won't be able to repair that for another five years
10:07uh these qatar is actually supplying gas to the the whole world
10:14so far 39 energy sites across nine countries have been damaged
10:18and the infrastructure that took decades and billions of dollars to set up is being destroyed
10:23in three weeks of war they're not telling you all of this in the news but it's this is actually
10:28happening it's affecting shipping with traffic in the straits of homers nearly uh halted major
10:35carriers of suspended services leaving thousands of ships including oil tankers stalling or rerouting
10:41causing soaring insurance costs delayed deliveries disruptions to the global energy and cargo supply
10:47chains currently saudi is sending its oil across the country to a port which is on the red sea side
10:56of
10:56the country and they're getting oil out through that so it can't go through the homers
11:07there's a danger that the hutis who are in yemen may join the war and start hitting tankers in the
11:11red sea
11:12and close that strait as well in which case the whole of the oil coming out of that region is
11:17going to be cut off
11:18uh to all of us
11:21doing that may have a bit of an effect upon the world economy
11:25upon how things are going
11:29uh another little detail i found out helium is extracted from natural gas which comes largely from
11:35qatar um it evaporates if you store it so you can't store it for long so it's got to get
11:42to its destination
11:43be used uh prices are surging is vital for various pieces of production including the semiconductors which
11:51are made largely in south korea and taiwan and are the basis of all modern electronic devices
11:57including smartphones computer chips etc
12:00that breaks down then you're going to have a breakdown in the whole supply chain for
12:03most of the high-tech things which we use today
12:08um
12:11also there's some fears that it could go nuclear russia claims that irani missiles landed close
12:15to the nuclear power station at bushair in iran israel has a nuclear plant at demona and iran
12:21sent mishas to do demona uh yesterday
12:28could it affect britain uh this is what i got off the new site it says britain has
12:36conducted a simulation exercise to discover how the blockade could affect exports worth up to 1.2 trillion
12:42dollars uk has the biggest exposure to the supply chain of any country in europe britain imports
12:4912 billion through the straits of hormones each year britain won't be able to substitute its liquefied
12:54gas supply in the short term driving up prices for consumers the uk may have to start rationing fuel
13:01due to shortages the times cited industry industry exports experts reporting that the government will
13:09have to protect the food supply the hospitals and schools and transport systems so they'll have
13:14to cut back on what may be to them unnecessary travel including your cars and my cars in other
13:22words uh they could end up with rationing or fuel now these things could happen fairly quickly
13:30if there's a moment there's enough there fuel still coming in the tankers which left three weeks
13:36ago sorry still on the way they'll arrive but no tankers are going out now so these things are
13:41going to accumulate within two three months you're going to see things happening which will affect
13:47the whole situation article in the daily mail uh said what would happen if in britain if all goes
13:55up to 200 a barrel quote blackouts and economic paralysis empty supermarket shelves petrol and
14:02dieseling rationing riots as all prices soar to unprecedented heights britain is on the brink of
14:08the worst energy crisis in our history the international energy agency has already described it as the
14:13worst ever crisis to hit the oil market experts across the political spectrum are warning that this is just
14:19the beginning oil is the lifeblood of the global economy if it stops flowing the inevitable effect is no
14:27different from what happens to the human body when it hemorrhages dizziness collapse cardiac arrest cardiac
14:33arrest and death we've worked on the basis that the government will be able to maintain some sort of
14:39control throughout in reality even if that assumption might be too optimistic unless politicians can keep
14:47the grip a grip the chaos ahead could be too appalling to contemplate i don't want to depress you too
14:55much but
14:55that is happening and i think generally they don't want you to know that but it's happening and whether
15:01you hear it now or later you're going to hear it sooner or later and these things are building up
15:08and
15:08we're going to have to start thinking about how we're going to adapt our lives to changing situations
15:15one of which maybe it's difficult to travel so how that's going to affect us here at the bridge obviously
15:22a minor thing in comparing with the whole world situation but it's something which you're going
15:26to have to think about in the days to come now one of the interesting things i picked out from
15:30that
15:31quote from the daily mail was it said oil is the lifeblood of the global economy if you choke it
15:38off
15:38then the like if you choke off your bloodstream it's going to your body's going to die choke off the
15:44oil then the system is going to die you could ask a question about how wise it is to make
15:49oil the wife
15:50lifeblood of the world economy and i found a book which i wrote 2004 called the house on the sand
15:58which was on this very issue and i read it through and it's actually quite prophetic some of the details
16:04are a bit changed because things change but i've it's out of print so i can't get it to you
16:10i have still got it on my computer so we can get it onto the website so you can read
16:14it on there
16:15but basically the proposition i had in that book was that if we build this house this world system
16:24on the present oil situation and i used oil as the main thing on the thing then you're building
16:29on a house on the sand and soon later it's going to collapse and i just felt to read the
16:34first the
16:35first chapter was only two pages actually so i'll just read you the first two pages of this book which
16:40i wrote uh begins with a quote from the book of daniel chapter 12 verse 4 but you daniel shut
16:48the
16:48shut up the word seal the book until the time of the end many shall run to and fro and
16:52knowledge
16:52shall increase prophets of daniel written 200 2500 years ago contain some amazing information about
17:00the time of the end the last days before the return of the lord we're all witnessing of the
17:06fulfillment of these words of daniel as we see a huge increase in travel shrinking the world to a
17:12global village and the incredible developments of technology in our time filling our shops and
17:18our homes with gadgets and machines that our forefathers had absolutely no concept of 200 years
17:25ago the fastest anyone could go anywhere in the world was the speed of a horse the fastest you could
17:30send a message anywhere in the world was to give it to somebody to carry from a to b at
17:34the speed of a
17:35horse the same in the time of julius caesar alexander the great and back as far as we can look
17:41into
17:41history today you can get to the other side of the world by jet plane in just over a day
17:46you can speak
17:47by phone or communicate by email instantly with someone thousands of miles away technology is
17:54advancing so fast that today's most advanced computers mobile phones and a host of other gadgets
17:59markets will be out of date within a few years if not months switch on a computer and open up
18:05the
18:05internet and you tap into an almost infinite knowledge source of knowledge of whatever you want to know
18:12200 years ago as 2000 years ago the majority of people never traveled far from the place they were
18:17born and had little or no idea of other cultures and ideas most white people living in europe never saw
18:27a
18:27white person today traveling communications means that the world has become a global village people
18:32of all races share living space ideas entertainment sport music and religion in a way our forefathers
18:39could never have imagined 200 years ago as 2000 years ago if you wanted to build grow food go to
18:46war
18:46or travel you needed the sweat of human labor with the help of animals like the ox the horse the
18:51donkey
18:51and the camel to accomplish these things today the discovery of coal oil gas and nuclear power means
18:57that machines will do the back-breaking jobs our ancestors had to do by human sweat with the help
19:03of animals trains cars and planes will transport us in hours to places that previously it would have
19:08taken weeks months or even years to get to all of these developments open up many exciting
19:14possibilities which our ancestors could only have dreamed about but there's a downside although the
19:21labors of the past were much harder and only capable of accomplishing a fraction of what modern
19:24machines can do they had two great advantages they had no negative impact on the environment
19:31they were entirely renewable people came and went animals were strong for a while and then died
19:37whether they were in europe or china or anywhere else in the world people and animals were able to
19:42reproduce and provide for the next generation to carry on living in the same way as their ancestors had done
19:49for next year's crops you could plant seeds from last year's crops all available in the bounty supply
19:54of nature apart from deserts and high mountains the basic resources for keeping society going
20:00were available wherever you lived in the world today the resources needed to keep our wonderful world
20:06going are finite they're only found in certain places some of them especially middle eastern oil in very
20:12vulnerable places where which right now are passing through a period of instability which could plunge
20:18the world plunge the world into sudden chaos i wrote that in 2004 so how much more in 2026
20:27journalists politicians scientists religious figures commenting on our time generally assume it is
20:32inevitable that the kind of dizzying progress we have seen in our time will continue indefinitely
20:38there'll be new forms of computers mobile phones cars and planes capable of doing even more advanced
20:43things even if the oil runs out we'll develop some other means of generating power so we can keep the
20:49system going generation after generation the house of the sand or the house of cards could all come crashing
20:58down if the lifeblood of the system oil and gas comes crashing down jesus said whoever hears these
21:06sayings of mine and does them i will liken to a wise man who built his house on the rock
21:09the wind
21:10descended the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house and it did not fall for

21:31sooner or later that storm is going to come and this house will crash and the question is are we
21:36on
21:37the road to that happening now
21:41will someone step in and call a halt and enforce peace and saving the world
21:47that's possible it's also possible it could bring the whole system down
21:53so what can we do about it little you and me cannot do a lot about it we can pray
22:01we can think about how we're going to prepare ourselves how we can
22:05prepare our lives but a study of scripture shows that there is such a storm coming on the whole world
22:12bible also shows us that the last war in history is going to focus on jerusalem the middle east and
22:18israel and before that happens there's going to be a series of events which are going to
22:22push the world in this direction which all of which are connected to the last days
22:28prophecies of the bible which are going to precede the second coming of jesus the messiah
22:35i believe that god set bible prophecy in the scriptures so that he could
22:39give us an idea of what's going to come so he could understand it and is there in the bible
22:46and what i can't understand actually is that most churches actually totally ignore it
22:51it's too controversial they don't want to talk about it don't upset people don't want to maybe
22:55just what i said is a good fighting people but actually we've got to see that it's there in the
23:01bible it's there for a purpose and jesus warns about what's going to happen so that we can be prepared
23:06and we can make the provisions most important of which is to get saved and be right with god so
23:11that
23:11we know that whether we live or die we have a place in his kingdom and we have eternal life
23:19but we have to recognize that things are happening and also of course the bible prophecies tell us
23:25that there is a good outcome in all of this that ultimately jesus the messiah is going to come back
23:29this time as king of kings and lord of lords with all power at his disposal he's going to set
23:35up
23:35the messianic kingdom which i believe will be a literal kingdom on earth for a thousand years
23:40which will rule the world and bring peace and justice they'll beat their swords and plow showers
23:45and all that sort of stuff and hopefully also their nuclear bombs and all the other horrible things
23:51they've made today into weapons and to implements for peace and agriculture and providing for the people
23:58but in the meantime there's going to be this bad time and you've got to face it it's there in
24:02the
24:03scriptures there are a number of things which the bible says are going to happen in the last days and
24:07either they're happening now or you can see they're on the road to happening
24:13i've rested seven here but a few more i could speak about first is going to be a general state
24:18of wars and
24:19conflicts in the last days nation will rise against king nation kingdom against kingdom be wars and rumors of
24:25wars these things which are increasing in our time jesus said this is not the end this is a sign
24:32of
24:32the birth pains of the birth pangs of the last days a process which is beginning which will lead into
24:37other
24:38things which will take place leading to the second coming of jesus secondly there's going to be a general
24:43state of conflict will lead into the great tribulation period when the four horsemen of the apocalypse ride out
24:48revelation chapter 6 the antichrist offering some kind of false peace followed by war famine and death
24:57leading to the final conclusion of the return of the messiah
25:03thirdly the world are going to face some kind of economic crisis revelation 18 describes the fall of
25:09babylon the world trading system specifically mentions ships of the sea being lost and sudden destruction
25:15destroying the wealth of the merchants before this happens the antichrist is going to arise and bring
25:21in what's known as the 666 mark of the beast system controlling people's ability to buy and sell
25:29scriptures also imply an environmental disaster in the last days there are examples of fish dying in the
25:34sea ships being destroyed waters becoming undrinkable and there are prophecies about persia which i did mention
25:41last time last time about elam and god breaking the bow of elam and bringing judgment upon their rulers
25:48causing a dispersion of people from elam around the world and finally a restoration with god setting up a
25:57throne in elam and of course we know that it has a bearing on israel bible prophesies the return of
26:05the jewish people to the land of israel in the last days first of all in unbelief and then through
26:10a
26:10series of troubles coming to faith in yeshua the messiah there's going to be a time of conflict over
26:17their status there leading to the last battle and the return of the messiah
26:25and of course israel is involved in this present war because of iran's threat to destroy israel
26:32death to israel is what they cry and they supply themselves with multitude of missiles aimed at israel
26:38in order to accomplish that purpose
26:46netanyahu is hoping that out of this war the current israel islamic regime will fall and be replaced by a
26:51more reasonable government that will work for peace in the region
26:56it's a good aim but i'm not sure it's going to happen if it does happen it would be wonderful
27:01if you get rid of the regime and you have a decent government in iran and they do work for
27:06peace be
27:07good there's a slight possibility it will happen because the bible does speak about a peace covenant
27:13in the last days and if the islamic government is out of the way then that could pave the way
27:18for some
27:18kind of a general peace which israel would sign with palestinians with the arab countries round about
27:24uh but we'll have to wait and see whether that happens if it goes wrong it could also lead into
27:31the
27:33gathering together of nations which will blame israel for the present trouble
27:36and launch the war of gog and magog with allied countries coming against israel from the north
27:41in the battle which is spoken about in ezekiel 38 to 39
27:47we're going to see whether that's going to be the outcome
27:50um i don't say in the next few months but it's going to be see whether that comes out of
27:55this
27:55present situation final thing i want to say about the prophecies is that jesus said that one of the
28:00things that's going to happen in the last days is going to be an increase in false christ's
28:04false prophets and false messiahs
28:08now it's interesting when you look at the power behind the islamic revolution which is going to come
28:14into now this prince of persia which is mentioned in the book of daniel which is clearly some kind of
28:22a satanic force which is over that land of persia i remember very vividly the time leading up to the
28:30islamic revolution because i was a born again christian at the time i was also involved in evangelism
28:35it was also it happened that i was meeting quite a few iranians and i got quite involved with a
28:41number of people from iran one of whom was quite religious and was actually quite supportive of
28:46the regime or not of the regime it wasn't there of the revolution i had some good talks with him
28:52we read through the bible together he was quite open but then he went back at the time of the
28:56revolution in his hopes i don't know what happened to him whether he got disillusioned i just think
29:00he did because he was quite idealistic when he saw what it really turned out to be i hope that
29:05he became a christian and accepted the law we also met a number of communists who were
29:11we used to do outreach to the communists we used to give out these gospels with a picture of tehran
29:16on the front hold it up we gave out about 100 or more these gospels and talked to iranians who
29:20were
29:21kind of left-wing anti-sha and together they came with the muslims and they overthrew the islamic
29:29the shah's government and set up the islamic regime uh wasn't very good for the communists because
29:35they then got squashed under the islamic force which is a message which uh you could read out to
29:42the red green alliance today who are leftists and islamists who are promoting all the intifada stuff
29:49and anti-israel uh you may work together for a while but if the islamists get in power then they
29:56won't have
29:57much time for these uh trendy leftists but that's another story but what i remember very much was
30:04when the islamic regime took over i had this real feeling that something incredibly evil was happening
30:09a real power of darkness was taking over that land and i just felt this spiritual force which was taking
30:15over which brings us back to the idea of the false prophet now i don't know if you know too
30:21much about the
30:22ideology behind the islamic regime uh they're based upon shiite islam and a quite an extreme
30:29form of shiite islam called the twelvers so what are the twelvers okay the twelvers believe in a concept
30:36called the 12th imam who is the guiding principle behind the islamic revolution founded by ayatollah khameini
30:44he's called the 12th imam because he's believed to be the final divinely appointed imam
30:48uh who is the six the legitimate successor to the prophet muhammad according to twelver shia islam
30:57so these imams who have followed muhammad and they were appointed by muhammad and they had some kind
31:01of divine power this 12th imam was born around 860 a.d and according to the twelvers this belief he
31:10actually
31:10never died he went into hiding in a place called samara in iraq and he's haven't been seen since but
31:16they believe he's still alive okay so he's about 1200 years old but he apparently he's he's currently
31:25in hiding they call it occultation which is a kind of interesting word he's in hiding maintaining a
31:32presence on the earth occasionally appearing to the pious envisions according to the islamic belief
31:38he will reappear as a savior figure known as the mardi alongside isa who is the islamic jesus in the
31:45end
31:45times to restore justice and peace to the world filled with tyranny he will defeat one known as the dejal
31:53and i think some of them are saying that the dejal is donald trump but he's a kind of antichrist
32:00figure
32:01now ayatollah khameini claimed this is really interesting he claimed his rule and the establishment of
32:06islamic regime in islamic republic of iran were conducted under the guidance and on behalf of
32:13the 12th imam who's believed to be in a state of this occultation hidden from humanity otherwise he
32:19believes that this regime was actually founded by this 12th imam who's still alive somewhere and he's
32:26guiding him by his spirit he formulated the doctrine of veliyat afaki i don't know if that's
32:33correct translation guardianship of the jurist which positive that during the 12th imam's absence a
32:39just and pious jurist or leader should rule and prepare for the imam's eventual return so in the
32:47last generation before this imam turns up he's going to appoint somebody on earth to be his prepare the
32:54way for him and he mainly believed that that was him that's what he's doing with the islamic regime
33:04so can you see that behind this there is a spiritual power which is very clearly a spirit of
33:10deception saying he's transmitting messages from this guy who died or who lived uh 1200 years ago
33:17who's alive today he's going to reappear as this mahdi who's going to then uh lead the world in a
33:24kind of
33:25islamic new world order in fact i don't remember there was an iranian president called aminid al-midinijad
33:34uh he was a disciple of this view and he actually gave speeches at the un general assembly
33:40to discuss his beliefs concerning the coming of the mahdi
33:45this savior figure who's the 12th imam quote he framed his political gender with an
33:50apocalyptic with an apocalyptic context calling for a new order and the arrival of the ultimate savior
33:57the mahdi who will come alongside issa to lead humanity to achieving its glorious and eternal ideals
34:05okay so that's the foundation of the islamic republic of iran can you see where it's coming from
34:12it's obviously an evil spirit it's the prince of persia manifesting itself in modern times
34:19of course the reality of the islamic regime is exact opposite of this uh savior bringing leading
34:26humanity to uh peace and love and so on it's created a most corrupt dictatorship hated by most
34:33of its people the supreme leader actually rules through islamic revolutionary guards who employ
34:38extreme terror methods to suppress the people rainy and i spoke to said the irgc's military arm the
34:46basij he compared them to the nazi ss and these are the people who are responsible for the massacre
34:52of around 30 000 protesters earlier this year in january so not much peace and love there and not much
34:59justice either in fact you could say that the main achievement of the islamic regime has been to turn
35:05the people particularly the youth away from islam i think that about uh they have i think i can't
35:13remember the figures now something like 75 000 mosques in iran 50 000 of them closed down because
35:20people don't go there large numbers have converted to christianity you've got at least according to
35:26some a million people who've turned to christianity from iran mostly meeting in secret in house churches
35:33they can't identify themselves they suffer persecution but there's a growing number of people who are turning to
35:39christianity some are turning to just a secular lifestyle including they've got a very big drug
35:45problem especially amongst the youth but definitely not for the most part believing in islam so let's
35:52think about those who do turn to christianity if they have access to the bible they may discover some
35:58interesting things about persia in the bible and we're going to close by looking at some of those
36:05prophet daniel he had a visitation from the angel who i've just read to the scriptures but he spoke
36:12about the prince of the kingdom of persia withstood me 21 days behold michael one of the chief princes came
36:20to
36:21help me for i've been left alone there with the kings of persia now what this passage is saying is
36:27that he
36:28has in some kind of a prayer ministry and as he's praying this angel came to him and revealed to
36:34him
36:34something about the hidden forces behind the scenes now most people today would scoff at this and say
36:40you're talking fairy taurus but the bible actually says that there are principalities and powers of evil
36:47which are influencing things which happen on the earth and many have taken this passage here actually
36:52says that there are certain principalities which have power over regions over areas particularly
36:59over persia which at that time was the dominant power in the world system if you like it was the
37:05reeling empire and it says also that he's going to be in contact with the prince of greece and if
37:12you
37:12know your history you may know that the greek empire then overthrew the persian empire so you have
37:17these two countries persia and greece which is described here as having principalities and powers
37:22over them ruling them they're both powerful greece was to become the empire which would replace persia
37:32and so this prince of persia is interpreted not as being a human prince it's a high-ranking evil
37:37spiritual entity or demonic force in satan's army rather than a human king and this fallen angel has
37:45spiritual authority over the persian region opposing god's messenger for 21 days until the archangel
37:51michael intervenes now michael is interesting because you see that michael turns up in book of
37:57daniel and in the book of revelation leading a spiritual battle against the powers of darkness
38:03so there's something here about a cosmic battle which is taking place in the heavenlies which affects
38:07what happens on the earth now we don't understand all of this we just have a few
38:12little details which are revealed in the scripture when it sort of unveils what's happening in the
38:18spiritual realm but it's saying here that there is a cosmic battle taking place in the heavenlies over
38:23what's taking place on the earth which is going to translate itself into actions which would take place
38:28on the earth okay so daniel is actually revealing things and it's also showing to us that god is overruling
38:37events on the earth and the god reveals things to his prophets who are given accurate predictions
38:44of things to come and you find such prophecies in the books of isaiah jeremiah ezekiel and daniel
38:51some of which are so accurate and so specific that the skeptics say they must have been written after the
38:57event but if you take the bible literally they're actually written before the events took place
39:02because god knows the end from the beginning you have a number of things which are specifically
39:06prophesied in the prophets happening before prophesied before they happened
39:14number one is the babylonian conquest of jerusalem and the captivity of the jews to babylon in around 597
39:21to 586 bc you have numerous prophecies of that in isaiah also specific prophecies in the book of jeremiah
39:30saying that the jews were going to captivity in babylon for 70 years and after that they would
39:34return to the land of israel all of which happened you also had prophecies of the fall of babylon to
39:43the medes and persians and the restoration of the jews to jerusalem under the edict of the persian king
39:48cyrus isaiah chapter 44 and 45 actually mentioned cyrus by name 150 years before the prophecy was
39:57fulfilled according to josephus the jewish historian this prophecy was in the hands of daniel who was
40:04alive at this time at the time when cyrus came into power and he brought it to cyrus cyrus read
40:10it and
40:10saw my name there i better do what it says now skeptics will say that's all a made-up story
40:16but josephus
40:18who was not a far as we know a believing christian but he was a jewish historian he says that
40:23this was what
40:23happened so you have these prophecies which were not just given but they also affected what people did
40:32you go through this also in the greek in the prophecies in daniel you see there is a prophecy
40:36very specific prophecy which follows after this passage we read in daniel 10 of the greek concept
40:43conquest of persia under one who we can identify as alexander the great name not given by daniel because
40:51it hasn't happened yet but it speaks about one coming from greece who's going to overthrow the persians
40:57and it even says that his empire is then going to be divided into four parts
41:01exactly what happened so either it was written by somebody afterwards claiming that this was a
41:07prophecy in which case it's deception which it wasn't or it was written by daniel the prophet
41:12in the fifth sixth century bc three or four hundred years before it happened in which case it's a
41:19miraculous intervention of god revealing the end from the beginning also describes the wars of the
41:27seleucids that's in syria with judea known as in the events of the maccabees which took place in around 165
41:347 to 165 bc so these prophecies are so detailed that and they're fulfilled exactly by identifiable events
41:43so that modern theologians say they must have been written after the event
41:48in fact they say daniel was written after the maccabees event round about 165 bc
41:55now if you're a conservative theologian as i am you say that daniel was written by the prophet
42:01living in babylon in the sixth century recording his visions and experiences during the babylonian exile
42:07and giving revelation sent by god of things to come now the prophecies of daniel concerning these wars
42:14all focus and relate in some way to israel and to the jewish people
42:22they also have a bearing on the end times and this is where it gets kind of interesting from our
42:26point of
42:26view because when you look through these prophecies they all move from the events which are going to
42:31come in the not too distant future so within 300 years of daniel giving these prophecies
42:37to the end of days and it speaks about many days to come the latter days events which have yet
42:42to be
42:43fulfilled and one of the things which you notice is that in these prophecies there are revelations
42:49concerning the coming of the messiah in january chapter 9 it tells you that the temple is going to be
42:55rebuilt jerusalem is going to be rebuilt and sometime before the destruction of the second temple
43:00mashiach messiah is going to come be cut off die be cut off not for himself and then the prince
43:07of the
43:07power to come is going to destroy the city and the sanctuary uh now the city in the sanctuary the
43:13jerusalem was destroyed and the temple was destroyed in the year 70 so the prophecy of daniel chapter 9
43:18tells you that the messiah has to come before the year 70 he's going to be cut off dire death
43:24not for
43:25himself but for others and uh you have to ask yourself who could this possibly be rabbis get
43:32themselves tied up in knots trying to persuade you that it's not about jesus but the only explanation
43:36you can have it is about jesus so either daniel was written after jesus came or it was written
43:43prophesying that he was going to come now of course it wasn't written after jesus came because it was
43:47there in the tanakh in the hebrew scriptures long before jesus arrived so it's a clear prophecy about
43:54the coming of the messiah you also have prophecies concerning the coming of the one who we identify
44:00in the new testament as the antichrist or the beast you have a number of them in the book of
44:06daniel
44:07and it's interesting they sort of merge out of the events which are going to come in the not too
44:12distant future from daniel's point of view to the very distant future so the kind of connection
44:16between the events of the persian empire the greek empire and the coming of the antichrist
44:23in daniel chapter 7 we have one called the little horn who quote speaks pompous words against the
44:30most high and persecutes the saints of the most high revelation 13 that's what the antichrist is going
44:37to do revelation 13 in daniel chapter 10 no chapter 8 says in the latter time of their kingdom when
44:46the transgressors have reached their fullness a king that yeah i'll give you the reference it's
44:52daniel 8 verse 23 daniel 8 in the latter time when the transgressors have reached their fullness a king
44:59shall arise having fierce features who understand sinister schemes his power shall be mighty but not by
45:06his own power he shall destroy fearfully and shall prosper and thrive he shall destroy the mighty and also
45:12the holy people through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule and he should
45:17exalt himself in his heart he should destroy many in their prosperity he should even rise against the
45:23prince of princes he shall be broken without human means and the vision of the evenings and the
45:29mornings which was told is true therefore seed up the vision for it refers to many days in the future
45:36now there's a partial fulfillment of this in antiochus epiphanies who was the enemy of the jews in the
45:41time of the maccabees but the full fulfillment actually applies to the antichrist he's going to be that
45:48fan he's going to come in the latter times time when transgressors have reached their fullness when
45:53there's a fullness of evil he's going to have mighty power he's going to destroy fearfully he's going to
46:00rise against the prince of princes against the messiah against jesus he's going to be broken without
46:05human means free what happens in revelation the antichrist actually gets thrown straight into the
46:10lake of fire by the lord at his second coming so you have a prophecy here which applies to many
46:17days in
46:17the future which i believe is a prophecy of the antichrist it comes out of again a passage which is
46:24dealing with the greeks and the persians something to do with coming out of that time and then it comes
46:30to the rise of the antichrist you go to chapter 11 chapter 11 you read about again about this sinister
46:41figure of antiochus epiphanies who persecuted the jews in the days of the maccabees but then he merges
46:47with one who is the antichrist go to chapter 11 and verse 36
46:57then the king shall do according to his own will he should exalt himself and magnify himself about
47:02every above every god he should be blasphemous against the god of gods and shall prosper till
47:07the wrath has been accomplished what has been determined shall be done he should regard neither
47:12the god of his fathers nor the desire of any of woman nor regard any god for he shall exalt
47:17himself
47:17above them all so this is someone who's going to speak blasphemous names against god and he goes on
47:24to speak about his activities which many see apply to the coming of the antichrist in the last days
47:32when you go to verse 20 verse 12 it says at that time michael should stand up the great prince
47:36who
47:36stands watch over the sons of your people there should be a time of trouble such as never was since
47:41there
47:41was a nation even to that time and it should be that time your people shall be delivered everyone
47:47who is found written in the book many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake
47:52some to
47:52everlasting life some to shame and everlasting contempt okay so this speaks about the event which follows
47:59this which is clearly the great tribulation period god intervening sending the archangel michael to
48:05save his people at a time of great trouble ties in with other passages in the bible
48:11dealing with the final period of the great tribulation notably matthew 24 verses 15 to 31
48:19and jeremiah chapter 30.
48:23so is there a connection between the events of the prince of persia rising up prince of greece coming
48:32and the time of the antichrist is there a connection between the biblical wars of the
48:38greeks and persians and the last days conflict shaping up in our time now what's interesting also as
48:45this sort of occurred to me whether this is true or not or just my imagination you can work it
48:50out but
48:50it's interesting that the wars of the greeks and persians brought into conflict the most developed nation in
48:58europe at that time greece was the height of culture had literature it had philosophy it had the language
49:03which was then to become the language of the whole area round about that wherever alexander went he
49:09founded libraries like alexandria and learning centers of learning so greeks was a highly cultured
49:16highly advanced society much more advanced than anything that was happening in this country
49:22when someone said london was just a marsh persia was also a very advanced uh culture with a
49:33form of government which was quite advanced even had human rights written into it by cyrus
49:40and you had certain things which were these were two powerful nations coming together
49:45and the greeks defeated the persians and actually the greeks then influenced persia and persia also
49:50influenced the greeks and they brought ideas back from persia to greece and which influenced then
49:55subsequent greeks philosophy both of them had an influence on israel and the bible some for good
50:04actually the persians actually brought about the restoration of the jews to israel uh the greeks
50:10actually brought the greek language which was then translate bible was translated from hebrew into greek
50:16which again became the base for the writing of the new testament so the good influence which came
50:20out of both persia and greece also bad influences persia gave birth to haman the killer of the jews
50:29and the greeks brought all kinds of idolatrous ideas which infiltrated and took the jewish people
50:35away from worship of the true god to a kind of humanism which was harmful to them now what's
50:40interesting with the war which is now taking place is taking place actually between the most developed
50:46nation in the west united states which came out of europe which is in conflict with iran in persia
50:54now behind the regime in iran you can see evidence of the prince of persia an evil spirit which has
50:59taken
50:59over and ruined the cultured persian nation replaced it with that murderous dictatorship what about between
51:08behind the america and the west have we got god on our side or are there things within the west
51:16which
51:16are actually under god's judgment talked about khameini being a false prophet when trump came to power he
51:24talked about bringing in this golden age made all kinds of prophecies of this wonderful mega make america
51:30great system and i saw a lot of things behind trump which were actually quite idolatrous and quite
51:37harmful and i'm not entirely sure that his motives even in this war are i mean obviously he's trying
51:44to help israel on one level but there are also other forces to do with the whole geopolitical things
51:50which i haven't got time to go into involving even russia and china but there's a whole background behind
51:57this which is part of the the emerging world system which in some ways trump is actually disrupting but
52:03also part of himself and what are you going to see coming out of this that's the question
52:10and it occurs to me that out of this is going to come the conditions for the rise of the
52:14antichrist
52:16as you see the turmoil which is going to bring the economic problems the threat to the world and if
52:23people say well look we're on the brink of destroying everything if we carry on like this we've got to
52:27come in for some kind of a peace settlement could he come in and bring some order into this situation
52:33i'm not saying that's going to happen but i just had this feeling that maybe out of this
52:37going to prepare the way for the rise of the antichrist in which case we're getting pretty near to the
52:43second coming of jesus but we're seeing things happening today which are shaking the world and it's
52:49interesting that chris actually opened the service with the reading from hebrews about the shaking
52:54taking place and you've got everything sort of flying up into the air if it all comes down in some
53:00kind of a first of all a peace settlement which is not peace which then goes into the time of
53:07trouble
53:08and you have an economic crisis which they then bring in some kind of solution to with
53:13uh some kind of digital id and putting us into some kind of restrictions whereby you can't do certain
53:19things and also coming against those who believe the bible and jesus and ultimately with an agenda to
53:29come against israel as well so i kind of throwing out a few ideas here i'm not coming to a
53:36definite
53:36conclusion but ask yourself are we on the edge of the time of tribulation will the antichrist arise out
53:44of this conflict will america emerge triumphant reshaping the world order or fall under the weight of
53:52contrary events and where will this leave israel and the jewish people final thought is that israel
53:59is very much identified as being behind this wall if it goes badly and if the bad effect affects
54:07everybody in the world including the economic situation who are they going to blame they'll
54:15blame trump but they also blame israel and you can see that this could actually lead to much greater
54:21hostility to israel and then nations coming together and saying well the only thing we can do is
54:27get rid of this state of israel especially muslim nations and then you have the preparation for
54:33the war of gog and magog now some ways all this is speculation in some ways but you can see
54:39in the
54:40scriptures there are kind of different passages which try and fit them all together and it's difficult
54:46but whatever we can say we can see that we are living in very significant days
54:51and for sure it's going to affect us here if the worst case scenario comes about we're going
54:55to see a massive economic crisis we're going to see people coming in and saying well we've got to
55:01restrict your freedom to do do certain things and we need to be prepared for that
55:09in the end the one thing we can be sure of is that jesus is the messiah who has come
55:16to redeem us
55:17through his blood on the cross and he was coming again in power and great glory to judge the world
55:22in
55:22righteousness and all these things happening today are part of the are happening because
55:27the world has gone has rejected jesus tried to do their own thing and including one has to say israel
55:37israel we pray for israel we stand with israel but israel has a problem
55:43that they're not in the right relationship with god and that god is going to bring them to that point
55:48of repentance and faith in yeshua the messiah through the troubles which are coming that's what
55:54it appears from passages in jeremiah zechariah and even jesus words when he says you will not see me
56:00again until you say baruch haba b'shem adonai blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord
56:05the greeting for the messiah so in all these things god is actually looking for
56:11in the shaking he's looking for people to recognize what are you building your house upon
56:17you're building it on the sand of your own ideas of unbelief of various philosophies and religions
56:26which are not based on the scriptures or are you building your life upon faith in jesus the messiah
56:32the rock of our salvation if you're on the rock of salvation then you're in a good place and no
56:38matter
56:39what happens even if there is a storm comes and you get trouble in that storm if your house is
56:45built on the rock it's going to stand if your house is built upon your own ideas your own philosophy
56:50it
56:51will not stand so believe in jesus the final message i have as we look at the world today and
56:58the shaking
56:59which is taking place the problems which we can see coming we can get fearful we can get dismayed if
57:07you
57:07like but if we have a faith in jesus we know that he is with us and he said i
57:12will never leave you
57:12or forsake you cast your cares upon me and i because i care for you believe on the lord jesus
57:18christ and
57:19you shall be saved everything else is up for grabs it's all shaking we don't have god on our side
57:27totally
57:27in the west for sure in fact god is actually angry with many things which are taking place in america
57:32in
57:33europe and in this country he's pretty not exactly pleased with what's taking place in iran and the
57:43arab countries and even there are things in israel which he's not pleased and these things are being
57:49shaken at this time and the only choice which is going to really matter is the choice to accept or
57:55reject jesus the messiah so believe on jesus and when you see these things begin to happen
58:01don't panic look up lift up your heads your redemption draws near jesus is coming amen amen
58:09praise the lord let's just have a word of prayer lord we thank you that you are coming again in
58:13power
58:14and glory thank you for your word we thank you for the truth we see in the scriptures and as
58:20we see
58:21these things taking place especially the events taking place in the middle east and events around
58:27persia iran around israel in the arab countries america even in our own country we pray that many
58:35people will seek you lord for the answer will come away from islam come away from false religion
58:42and even come away from judaism come away from political zionism to messianic zionism and faith in
58:49yeshua jesus the messiah we pray this in jesus name amen amen praise the lord
