27:43And so, I'm like, I freaked out.
27:46And I'm in, I have a, I have a Broadway bathroom.
27:49And so, I have like posters from different Broadway stuff I've done.
27:51And there's one that I did, Bye Bye Birdie, and Liza Minnelli signed it.
27:54And she said, dear John, take no prisoners and the wounded, Liza May.
27:58Wow.
27:59From Liza Minnelli?
28:00Yeah, yeah.
28:01So, I said, I better do it, right?
28:02I mean, you know, she says to do it.
28:04She says Liza, tells you it's a sign.
28:06So, I get there, I get to the Hollywood Bowl,
28:08and I sing it.
28:09I needed a teleprompter.
28:10You've had teleprompter issues before, right?
28:11Yes.
28:12Many times.
28:13And I had, and I rehearsed it.
28:15It was great.
28:16Then 11 o'clock comes up, and Cynthia and the whole cast come.
28:19I hadn't met them yet.
28:20And we're going to do a run-through in the afternoon.
28:22The sun, the way the sun is shining, hits the teleprompter,
28:25and I can't see a word.
28:27And this big reveal, and you have Cynthia Erivo.
28:30So, it reveals like this, and I come out and said,
28:32You are the Christ.
28:33Yes, the great Jesus Christ.
28:35You are the Christ.
28:36You are the Christ.
28:37You are the Christ.
28:38You are the Christ.
28:39You are the Christ.
28:40And she's laying here, and she's on the floor like this with me,
28:42you know, and she's going...
28:45And I got Elphaba looking at me going,
28:47Uncle Jesse.
28:48But I did it that night, and it turned out okay.
28:53No, but it turned out more than okay.
28:55You got rave reviews.
28:56It went nuts viral.

30:09But I asked them, and they said,

30:11And when you see it, Kristen gets like 15 laughs off,
30:14you know, reaction of what I'm doing.

33:37And when did you feel like, oh, I got something here?
33:40Um, I started writing it in about, like, exactly a year ago, actually.

33:52I had a 10-day writing session booked.
33:55I didn't really have a plan, and I got there, and...
33:58You did this in 10 days?
33:59It was 10 days, yeah.

34:06Well, I mean, I'm exaggerating a little bit.
34:08We actually... I had 18 track titles,
34:11which I wrote the night before I went in for the sessions.
34:14I wrote two songs on the first day, and I was like,
34:16oh, this is kind of good, I think.
34:19Wow.
34:20Yeah.
34:21You're brilliant. I don't know how you did that all in 10 days.
34:24Which were the first two songs?
34:25Um, Just Enough and Tennis.
34:29And then you go, oh, this is the vibe. I know.
34:32I know what I'm doing.

34:35And you're getting crazy good reviews.
34:36People are saying it's the album of the year. Congratulations.
