00:00Rams and Arizona. Arizona, there is no tomorrow. The Rams want to be the number one seed. The Rams
00:04were embarrassed with a loss to Carolina. They opened up as an eight and a half point favorite.
00:08Joe stayed there all week long against Arizona with a total of 48 and a half. What's your spread
00:12line for this game here? Well, the crazy thing here is a lot of people thinking shootout, Donnie,
00:18and the public is all over the over. But guess what? 47 and a half are popping up all over the
00:25place. The under money. This is a clear pros versus Joe's from a total perspective here.
00:31Public thinks we're getting scoring while the pros think we're going to get less scoring with
00:36these two teams. Both teams defensively, Cardinals especially, much healthier for this game than
00:41they have been in weeks past. Should be a good one, actually. You actually like to see that too,
00:46because everybody knows that number, Joe, 47 and a half. It's like three and a half. It's like seven
00:50and a half. It's like 14 and a half. It's like, oh, you can't cross over the demarcation line right
00:55there. We got one more spread line to go, which we'll handle after the break. Then we'll get the
00:59last night's game between the Cowboys and the Lions. Seattle Seahawks last weekend. You know what
01:03they had to do, Joe? Run maybe the Delaware wing tee and just run the clock up because it was clear
01:08Minnesota was of no consequence with Max Brosmer quarterback. Now we take on Atlantis. We're talking
01:14about Seattle heading there as a favorite of seven and a half at the opening numbers. Actually dip down a
01:18little bit, Joe. Six and a half since seven's now in the marketplace in a total of 44 and a half.
01:23I look at Kirk Cousins. He's a shot fighter. He doesn't have Drake London. It's B. John Robinson
01:28or nothing. Seattle's got a really good defense here looking to win, but a team coming from the
01:33Pacific Northwest down to Atlanta. That's a different story, Joe. What's your spread line between Seattle
01:38and Atlanta? Well, it's interesting, Donny, because the public saw a 26-0 win against Minnesota last
01:45week. And obviously they're looking at Seattle, even on the road, and they've been very good on the road
01:50and going, yeah, we got no problem laying it. Yeah, well, we're starting to see six and a half showing
01:56up in the marketplace, which of course is huge, Donny, because seven is such a key number. And I get it
02:03because what Sam Donald did last week is not impressive. In fact, it hasn't been impressive for a
02:10little while here. And we all know Sam Donald, not great against bad teams. I would not be shocked
02:16if this number continues to go towards Atlanta prior to kick. And keep an eye on this total as
02:24well, Donny, because we are also starting to see a little bit of over money. This opened up 43,
02:3043 and a half. We're up to 44 and a half. And I also think more of that will be coming in this one as
02:36well. It's football Friday, right here on the early line on the Sports Grid Network. So what
02:39are we going to talk today, people? You guessed it. It's football. Congratulations, Donny Wrightside
02:44and Joe Ranieri. And on a Friday to get you ready for one of the best weekends in sports,
02:48we're going to determine the college football playoff. We're going to watch a TV show that the
02:52commissioner of college football playoffs is not going to be able to give us any responses or
02:56anything that makes any sense. And we'll just accept it as we go. The one thing that we do like in
03:00the NFL, we don't have these shows, Joe. You win on the field, you advance on the field,
03:04and that's the way it's supposed to be. So if we take a look at some of this weekend's action,
03:08you're a huge game in the AFC South is going to take place in rainy Jacksonville, Duval County this
03:14week. It's Jones, it's Lawrence, it's a one and a half point favorite for the road team Colts here
03:19going up against the Jaguars and a total of 46 and a half, which is down from that opening number
03:24of 48 and a half. Jacksonville can take that next step. Indianapolis can hold on to their season,
03:31Joe. One point line. Whoa. How about that? Yeah, it's kind of crazy. I mean, last week was the
03:37first time all year that Indy didn't hit, I think, at least 20 points. Now, granted, that was against
03:44Houston, but they were home Indy and they did have a couple of horrific fourth down opportunities that
03:51just were no good there. But they certainly could have scored more than 20 points here, considering
03:58that they're averaging, what, about 28 a game here. They're going to have to get back to that
04:04on the road against Jacksonville here, because Jacksonville, offensively, they've had 25 or more
04:10points in five straight games, Donnie. So, you know, you can't afford to have another bad offensive
04:16outing, Indy. You're going to have to keep up with the Joneses here. It feels like in a division rivalry,
04:22one that's been owned by Jacksonville, maybe the wrong team was favored to begin with here, Donnie.
04:30Here I go again on my own. Why does it feel like I want to take Minnesota this weekend? And why does
04:36it feel like I want to buy them at their lowest point? Because they're going up against a defense
04:40you can go against and have success. That's the Washington Commanders and the Minnesota Vikings.
04:44J.J. McCarthy is going to get the start. They're a slight favorite here. I look at the props there
04:48in the marketplace for Justin Jefferson, low 60s. Pull me off the ledge here. And also,
04:54I'm seeing a to-be-determined who's going to be the quarterback for Washington this weekend.
04:59Marcus Mariota has done well, but a full practice Joe Ranieri yesterday for Jaden Daniels. What do we
05:04think? Well, it's hilarious, too, because if you actually look, both of those guys have started
05:10equal amount of games this season, Daniels and Mariota. And when you dive into the numbers,
05:16Donnie, Mariota has been the better quarterback, which is hilarious when you think about it. But
05:21it just goes to show you, there wasn't as big a drop-off as people thought with this team. And I
05:26love that McLaurin is back healthy here. Kingsbury and company looking to get it done. But I don't
05:32want nothing to do with a side here, Donnie. You know what? I would rather look because I think
05:37whether or not it's going to be Daniels or Mariota, I thought the number was too low for the total
05:44here. 40 and a half, 41 and a half. I thought that was too low. It feels like points are coming
05:50in this game, and that's the way I would approach it. I'm telling you, we talk like the Cowsie
05:56markets in the stock market. It's when you buy it. Hey, if you buy it high and you still win,
06:00that's great. But you want to buy the low point that goes, boy, I'm getting a steal in the spot.
06:04And you don't want to outsmart yourself. We have to understand this. It's a little bit different
06:08than going on the road and playing the 12s last week and saying, what the hell am I going to do
06:11with this? Where you're at home against a Washington team that's dead with a terrible
06:14defense. That has the ability to score, which means you just can't run the clock out on your
06:18side of the football. I'm telling you, I'm going to get caught up, Joe, and I'm going to be tweeting
06:21out on Sunday. I'm an idiot. I took JJ McCarthy once again here. Let's get to a really interesting
06:27football game at one o'clock though. This is in Buffalo from Orchard Park. Some snow starting to
06:32creep into the forecast. Yes, it's going to be cold, but the winds are going to be manageable.
06:36Cincinnati got a full practice yesterday, Joe, out of T Higgins, which means
06:39chase Higgins and Burrow back to try to make one last playoff run. Buffalo is a favorite in this
06:46game, minus five and a half. And we love Joe, what they did last week at Pittsburgh, took it to
06:50the ground attack and absolutely physically dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers. But understand this,
06:55you got to get pressure on Joe Burrow and get him off of his mark. If you have no Epinesa this
06:59week in a defensive end or Bosa, I don't know how that's going to work. Cause the one thing we know
07:03Buffalo is looking for secondary help wherever they can get it. And it's not coming.
07:07Yeah. Well, I'll tell you what is coming. The points are coming in this game and you don't
07:13have to look any further than when this total opened up 51 and a half 52. Now we're up to 53
07:19and a half. And there are some light, there's some light snow in the, uh, in the forecast for Sunday,
07:25but, uh, you know, temperature going to be around 30 degrees. All right. No big deal. The wind is not
07:30going to be a factor in this game and you're coming on and you mentioned it, Donnie talking about the
07:36calcium markets, right? You know, it's when are you buying here? Well, the public just watched the
07:42bills run 63% of their plays on the ground against Pittsburgh. What they didn't realize is they didn't
07:49have a choice because the wind was about 30 miles an hour at Pittsburgh against Pittsburgh. So they
07:55were never going to throw the ball. They were always going to run it. So now everyone thinks they're a
08:00running team. Yeah. I do not be shocked if Josh Allen's pulling that ball out and throwing it all
08:06over the yard. Dalton Kincaid looks like he is trending in the right direction. Both tackles
08:11should be back. Uh, but you're right. Not having Bosa advantage, Joe Burrow and that offense.
08:17This feels like if you thought last night was a crazy shootout, this one feels like it's going to
08:22be crazy as well. Friday practice reports people key for this game, looking at some of those Buffalo
08:27bills injuries here, but Jamar chase, you know, he loves a little Joe Burrow action. Let's get to
08:32a little clip here and see why. Um, I don't think Joe was the underdog. I think they looking at the
08:38whole team as the underdog in a situation and I think Joe just doing what captain America do save
08:45us a day. Um, that's what we need him to do as a quarterback, as a leader of the offense of the
08:50whole team. You know, we need him to step up and be that guy. Has he been like, he's always kind
08:54of been that where like when the challenge is placed in front of him, where people say you
08:58can't do something, it sort of brings another level out of him. A hundred percent. I think that
09:02has fire to him. Fires to his fuel all the time, man. I think that's what he likes. I think that's
09:06really what makes his personality, if I'm being honest. Gotta love that. When you're a wide receiver
09:11knowing 15 targets are coming your way from one of the best quarterbacks, you're going to be
09:14excited too, Joe. Yeah. Well, and you should be if you're a Cincinnati
09:19backer this week because Joe Burrow 19, two and two against the number in his career
09:25as an underdog of a field goal or more. Like to say it, like to say it. Maybe we get the points.
09:32The boys are back in town. Josh Allen's going to have to show up maybe a six combined touchdown
09:36effort like we saw him in the previous few games here, but let's understand this. The Pittsburgh
09:41Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, one of the best rivalries in football, usually hard hitting
09:45has lost a little bit of his teeth, but this game's going to go a long way to determine
09:49who's actually going to win the AFC North here and a new player showing up here. Not
09:55Darius Slay. He was released. Adam Thielen's in town talking about how tough it is maybe
09:59to actually learn a new playbook. All right. You guys all ready? And what's that learning
10:03curve like? Is it pretty steep or no? It's steep. It's steep. Yeah. I mean, learning an NFL
10:09playbook in a few days. It's comparable to learning a new language, but no, it's stuff I love to
10:17do. I love the game of football. I love learning new systems and just trying to get the verbiage
10:22down and all the little details. Aaron's been playing a long time, so a lot of different
10:27things that he does with a line of scrimmage and just trying to get a grasp for the foundation
10:32first and then learn all the intricacies after that and taking it one day at a time.
10:38He's right about that. Like I've played football my entire life. Learning a new playbook is one of
10:45the worst experiences you can have because you're so familiar with what you have. The equivalent
10:48would be, Donnie, we're transferring you over to France. You got to learn French and you got a
10:53week to do it, Joe. That ain't the easiest thing to do, learn an NFL playbook when it's hard enough
10:57even just to recite the plays, let alone play the plays. Well, the plays are the play. It's the
11:03terminology. Like, you know, an out route is an out route, but it's how they're calling
11:07it for you and what you're doing. That's always the trickiest part for these guys. But they'll
11:12have a package of plays that are designed for him that, you know, they'll work on and
11:17he'll be good to go. But keep an eye on Lamar Jackson in this game because he popped up again
11:23yesterday now as a questionable tag for this game. He has not had a full week of practice
11:29and I can't remember how long here, Donnie, and that's not good news for Baltimore.
11:35You're like the XYZs out there and the H-backs. I'm telling you right now, when you take a look
11:38at football, there were so many times, Joe, where I would break the huddle and have to recite plays
11:42in my mind. Yeah. Like we used to have terminology like right over off, which meant I was supposed to
11:46be on the left side, but the over off canceled that out. And I went to the right side and then
11:49have to come back in motion. I'm telling you, man, football players ain't stupid. It's really
11:53hard. Some of these play calls that they give you here. Much more coming up next, which includes
11:57our guy, Tom Vecchio, right here. Football Friday, people get excited. I'm excited. I love
12:03Fridays. I love football. I love the weekend, just like everybody else. We fought hard this week,
12:07Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to get here with such a monumental weekend on deck.
12:12That means we need help. I'm Donnie Wrightside. He's Joe Ranieri. Now we welcome in Tom Vecchio
12:16to talk about possibly what happened last night and also some interesting games coming up this
12:21weekend, Tommy boy. Yeah, you could say that some of us are working for the weekend, but I'm ready
12:26to go for today's slate, or I should say this weekend slate, obviously massively important
12:34this week in the NFL. We saw it start off last night, playoff implications, teams fighting for
12:39their playoff lives. I'm ready to roll. Last night, Tom, loved over one and a half rushing touchdowns
12:45for the Detroit Lions. They had four of them last night, partied there and said, you know what?
12:48I got that in the first half. I'm guaranteed to get a CeeDee Lamb touchdown or George Pickens
12:53touchdown because they're going to throw the rest of the game. Would you know the Dallas Cowboys
12:57kicked five field goals last night? CeeDee Lamb had over a hundred yards basically at the half
13:02and then comes down with a concussion and George Pickens was like, I'm not playing anymore.
13:07What did you see last night? Also tell me the future of the Detroit Lions and the future of the
13:11Dallas Cowboys. You know, for the Cowboys, you know, I went on with Scott and Gabe last night and,
13:16you know, Scott made a good point. Like the Cowboys didn't get embarrassed. Like they lost,
13:19but you know, the game could have turned out 35 to 10. Like that's how it was looking at a
13:23certain point. Like they were going to get absolutely boat race. Like they can at least
13:27hang their hat on, like they played well enough. Like the defense is still an issue. If they want to
13:31change anything, the offense is fine. Like if you can have a fourth string receiver with Ryan
13:36Flannoy, go out there and drop a hundred yards. If you fix the defense, you don't need to be a top
13:41five defense, but at least be league average. That could be a playoff team every year, knowing
13:45that the offense they have, the future is obviously brighter when it comes to Detroit. I just expect
13:49them to do things better from a team perspective, but Dallas's future isn't bad. They just need to
13:53make the right changes and Jerry has to be committed to it. Well, it just, you know, they're not good
14:00enough where you, you know, certain aspects of their, their team take nights off. Like the fact,
14:06you can't give Detroit, you know, every, every possession started at the 50 yard line. I mean,
14:12they had a one almost 200 yards and returns yesterday. So you're not, that's not who you
14:18are. Kevin, like every facet, all three facets have to be working. Otherwise you're going to have
14:23a lot more results like this last night. Absolutely. Like again, everything else, but the offense and
14:29listen, the offense isn't perfect, but at least they put up yards and they can score. And there's not
14:33many offenses around the league where, you know, Dak's going to end the league in what top five
14:38in yards and touchdowns. So at a certain point, it's like, if you can at least stabilize that and
14:45then fix the other things, then, then you can have at least some regression in the offense and
14:49it would still be pretty darn good. Even if they regress a little bit. Yeah. Tough part here with
14:54the Dallas Cowboys too, is the only chances of chase down the Philadelphia Eagles. They're not
14:57getting a wild card. There's so many teams out there with many more victories here. They're
15:00going to have to jump over. That's tough sailing there for the Dallas Cowboys. But let's take a
15:03look, Tom, at some weekend action. One of the fun games that we're probably going to take a look at
15:07is a one o'clock game from Orchard Park in Buffalo. That's the Bengals and the Bills. You got now
15:12Joe Barrow back at quarterback. The expectations are T Higgins with a full practice yesterday,
15:16another step in clearing concussion protocol and Jamar chase, and also a legitimate running game.
15:21Now the Buffalo Bills without a couple of defensive ends, this should be a fun game. Tom,
15:25how you playing it? You know, honestly, I lean towards the under, I lean towards getting the
15:31points with the Bengals and towards the under, at least that I'm looking at. And granted it's
15:35Friday morning. We're not on Sunday yet, but we're going to have some weather in this game.
15:39It's going to be snowing. It's going to be cold. There shouldn't be too much wind,
15:42but it's not going to be a pretty game. It's going to be ugly. So I like chase Brown over 12 and a half
15:47rushing attempts. You know, he's been playing a solid role really throughout the entirety of the
15:51season. As of late, he's been super solid 15, 19, 18 rushing attempts for recent games.
15:57The Bills run defense is absolutely atrocious this season. We know what they can do on the
16:01ground offensively, but defensively they are so inept and listen, the snow playing a factor
16:06and things. I don't know if we're going to be seeing Joe Burrow drop back, not because of the
16:10recent injury that he's come back from, just because I don't think that's the game plan for
16:13here. And, you know, frankly, five and a half points for the Bengals, I think is pretty good
16:17against this Bills team, which hasn't been the Bills team we've seen in years past.
16:22Yeah. What did we do with Kansas City at this point here taking on Houston? Because they have
16:30owned Houston, like it or not. I mean, they, they've won the last five. So, and just when you
16:36think Houston has figured them out, they still figure out a way to win. So how do we approach
16:40this game? You know, we approach this game, I think cautiously, you know, immediately coming off
16:45of what we saw last week. I'm like, all right, where she writes is going to be in for another huge
16:50game. But, you know, then I'm thinking, okay, Derek Stingley Jr., the top corner for the Texans
16:55is going to be covering him. He's obviously not just their top corner, but the top corners in the
16:58entire league. I was looking at Xavier Worthy's number. It's got to be a Travis Kelsey game. And
17:03I know the recent string of games for him has been inconsistent. And Houston really hasn't faced
17:09the toughest stretch of teams when some of these games are playing the Jags, they're playing the
17:12Titans. It really hasn't been, you know, murderers row. But this is, as I said, coming into last
17:17night's game, this is effectively a playoff game between Kansas City and Houston. The loser is not
17:22mathematically eliminated, but they're basically all said and done. So if Kelsey in potentially his
17:27last season can't get it done, it has to be, you know, then they're done as a team. So I like him
17:31over 49 and a half receiving yards. I don't expect Bryce to have a massive game with Stingley. I'm not
17:35sold on worthy. I think his number's fine, but it has to be a Kelsey game to step up in the biggest
17:39moments or it's curtains for them. They're going home. Tom, let's have some fun with this game here.
17:44It's Tennessee and Cleveland. Why the heck would you guys be talking about this game?
17:47I find it fascinating. It's a 33 and a half total, a little bit of wind in Cleveland,
17:51not as bad as we saw in the previous week against San Francisco. Yes, it's going to be
17:55colder conditions, but we like to look at like bet three, six, five numbers over one and a half
18:00touchdown passes in this game. Tom, I've never seen that before. Give me an outlook on the
18:05expectations for Cam Ward, Jadour Sanders, and also a favorite Browns team at home. I got to tell you,
18:11Tom, I think I like the Browns this weekend to cover.
18:13I think the best player on the field is Myles Garrett. And if I can get Myles Garrett potentially
18:19to impact the game, I would take the three and a half or lay the three and a half, I should say,
18:24with the Browns. Here's what I said to Kev earlier in the week about Sanders. He could have the same
18:29exact stat line essentially as he did last week, but take one fewer sack, take one fewer incompletion.
18:35All those little things would put them in a spot to win. If he can't get it done versus the Titans,
18:39who are absolutely terrible on defense, that is more concerning. So improve the little things.
18:45It doesn't need to throw for 300 yards, but improve the little things. And I think the
18:48Browns could be in a spot to cover.
18:50Tom, Sunday night football quick. Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs. Is this lights out for the
18:55Chiefs or do they rise up at home?
18:58I can't wait three and a half for the Chiefs, especially with the defense on the other side.
19:02The game stays under and the Texans cover. It's going to be exactly like the Kansas City
19:06Indy game from a couple of weeks ago where the Chiefs win, but they don't cover and they keep
19:10their hopes alive for one more week. I can't wait to watch that. And also talk more to Tommy
19:15about some NFL action. Tommy, rising to grind with us on a football product. We thank you for that.
19:19We'll be right back to end our number one, right?
19:22Joe Ranieri's waited all football season long for this Sunday at one o'clock in Cleveland,
19:26Tennessee and Cleveland, Cam Ward and Shadour Sanders to settle it on the field, Joe,
19:31once and for all, who is the best rookie quarterback and who should have went number
19:37one overall. Ward has been terrible because his team stinks. Shadour Sanders has a, you know, a
19:41passer rating that is decent, but his QBR rating is absolutely atrocious. The favorites in this game
19:48are the Cleveland Browns at three and a half, even some outlets, Joe, as high as minus four,
19:53the total extremely low at 33 and a half. Got to be the lowest point this season. Cloudy conditions,
19:5932, 33 degree temperatures, not too bad. No precipitation and winds, Joe, 10 miles an hour
20:05or less. Can we get over to 33 and a half? But more importantly, who's going to score and who's
20:10going to win? How is Cleveland at more than a favorite over anybody? Listen, Shadour Sanders right
20:21now is the worst quarterback as far as success rate goes in the NFL, 28.9% success rate. Just to give
20:31you some reference, Don, Dylan Gabriel, his success rate as a quarterback, 35.4%. So the Browns are
20:38starting the single worst quarterback in the NFL this week. How are they being favored over anybody
20:45is beyond me? Not to mention Conklin is out. Their starting right tackle is out. His backup is an
20:53absolute train wreck. Jeffrey Simmons is going to be all over Shadour Sanders, who's going to be forced
21:00into very, you know, very bad situations. Call me crazy. The Browns can, you know, they might win this
21:06game and we can keep relying on the Browns defense to win games. But at some point, my goodness, like
21:13this should be a pick at best. They're all the value to me is in taking the points, Donnie, which
21:19is what I'm going to do. I can only back the underdog in this spot. We're correlating four
21:25touchdowns in this game, right? 33 and a half, four touchdowns and a couple field goals. If I ask you
21:29this question, like the passing yard, Shadour Sanders, 159 and a half, Cam Ward, 178 and a half.
21:35And also, if I am Stefanski, we're not at the point of the season right now where I'm looking at wins and
21:39that's really what we need. It's let me put some game film together and Shadour Sanders,
21:44can he be our future guy? Doesn't he have to against Tennessee, Joe, throw at least 20 plus
21:49times, which you figure he should get to 160 yards? I mean, just thinking like outside the box.
21:56Yeah, you would think, Donnie. But again, even when he's had opportunities to throw the ball,
22:01he's not very successful doing it. So that's the other problem. And if you can't protect a young
22:07quarterback like this, bad things are going to happen. Field position is going to be good.
22:12I think, Donnie, what you ultimately have to do is handicap who has the better kicker,
22:18who has the better field goal kicker, because that's ultimately, I think, what's going to decide
22:22who wins this game. I mean, you take a look also at the receiving props in this one. This is what
22:26makes it so fascinating because usually we look at a game like last night, 55 and a half, let's call it.
22:30You had 83 and a half, 82 and a half and 80 and a half for most of the day until we saw Aminorah St.
22:35Brown coming back for wide receivers. That was Pickens on one side, CeeDee Lamb on one side,
22:40and then on the opposite side, it was Jamison Williams. The leader in the clubhouse right now
22:44is Harold Fannin Jr., a tight end at 37 and a half yards. That's the game leader. You know where
22:49Jerry Judy sits? 31 and a half at FanDuel and 29 and a half at Bet365. Somebody has to catch passes
22:56in this game, but I just find it fascinating where I look and say to myself, who are we actually
23:00getting to catch the football? So Joe, 33 and a half points. Is there a chance it actually goes
23:06over or is this stone cold 17-10 final? It feels that way, Donnie. It is very difficult. I mean,
23:15I think 33 is probably the right number. I think it's priced exactly where it needs to be. Would I
23:22be 100%? Would I be shocked if this thing lands over the total? No, but I'm with you. This feels
23:29more like a 14-10 kind of game than it does anything else. Yeah, all right. Take a look at
23:35Seattle and Atlanta. Atlanta just can't win football games. It's not what they do anymore.
23:39Kirk Cousins is under center. He looks like a fossil back there, dropping back the pass. Doesn't have
23:43much talent at wide receiver, but he does have B. John Robinson and Tyler Algier, and I don't know how
23:48good that's going to be. Seattle's defense is really good. Seattle is on the road. It's in the dome.
23:51I'm not worried about any cold weather conditions here. Do we have a bounce back game on offense
23:55for Seattle? Because you might say to yourself, like, oh, what do you mean? He scored 26 points
23:59last week. Well, not necessarily. He did have a defensive touchdown, and they just took the air
24:02out of the football. Atlanta, can they show up as roughly seven-point dogs, win or cover? Or is this
24:09Raheem Morris just playing out the string there with Atlanta at this point? Well, you know, here's the
24:14problem. Again, and we alluded to this a little bit earlier, is that, you know, Sam Darnold's history
24:19as a quarterback in the NFL is, you know, not great against the teams he's supposed to beat.
24:26And that's a little bit worrisome here that you're expecting this team to go on the road
24:31against a desperate Atlanta team who's always been better at home anyway than they've been
24:36anyplace else. Not that that's saying much. But the reality is they still have some weapons. They
24:41still have a good running game. The defense should be a little bit better. And I don't trust Sam
24:48Darnold in these kinds of spots, laying these kinds of numbers. Seattle will win? Likely. Are
24:54they going to be winning by more than a touchdown? That's a big ask here, Donnie, with him.
25:00How about a big ask? Tyler Shuck going on the road and knocking off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But they
25:04don't have to actually win this game. They do have to cover the spread. That's eight and a half points
25:08as a favorite towards Tampa. What do we see last week, Joe? We saw Baker Mayfield, who we thought his
25:13arm fell off, only to play and throw and look pretty successful in that game. Also, you get your
25:18running backs all in order. Bucky looked good last week. Maybe an extra week of practice helps him as
25:23well. I do think the Bucs win, but that's not the question. Can the Bucs cover the eight and a half
25:27here, Joe? I don't. I mean, have we seen anything from Tampa that makes us think they're worth laying
25:34eight and a half points against anybody here? I mean, it's not as if New Orleans rolled over on the road
25:40against Miami last week. They had an opportunity to actually win that game. The defense is playing
25:47very, very well. And by the way, Baker Mayfield, 16 and 10 straight up, but 7 and 19 against the
25:54number as a home favorite since 2020. They are much better as an underdog, this Tampa Bay team
26:01with Baker Mayfield. Not a team laying eight and a half points, Donnie. This could be a hold your nose
26:07and take the points here because I don't trust them at all. How about another hold your nose and
26:12take the points action here? That's Miami and it's the New York Jets taking place in the Meadowlands.
26:18If I'm getting an updated weather report in this game, Joe, 37 degrees wins though, three miles per
26:24hour, no precipitation here. That should help the quarterbacks play, but also a favorite all week
26:29long. As you see on the graphic at a three point favorite for the Miami Dolphins in the total
26:33of 41 and a half. However, Joe, only about 35% of the tickets are coming in on the Jets without
26:39any movement here. That's interesting to me. The Jets, I do think can play with Miami in this
26:44football game and move it here. I'm going to take the Jets getting the three points to keep it close.
26:49If not, maybe win this game like we just saw last week. Yeah, I'm not. I want nothing to do with
26:57New York. How many more kick returns? You're a Jets. This is your Jets. No, absolutely not. I'll tell
27:06you. And by the way, they're coming off a monster upset win against Atlanta. Atlanta out gave them
27:12Donnie by nearly 150 yards in that game. You got to be kidding me. Absolutely not. Not to mention
27:19six and oh, uh, as a starter for whatever reason, uh, Tua has owned this Jets team in this spot in
27:28this game. I also think we're probably getting more points than people realize. I think the total
27:33Donnie 40 and a half 41 and a half somewhere in that ballpark would not shock me with Tyrod Taylor.
27:39If he gets uses his legs and both of these teams put up way more points than the market thinks,
27:45uh, especially when they played already. And that total closed at 44 back in week four,
27:52I kind of liked the over in this game more than anything else.
27:56Both of those running backs should have some success, which is really going to help those
28:00teams. So we'll find out. It's one of those sneaky ones that you look at, but also usually when you
28:03think Meadowlands in December, Miami, Oh no, too cold, too windy. There's no wind out there.
28:07Those quarterbacks will be able to throw the football. We'll find out a little bit later this
28:10weekend, who the victor is going to be 405 start on Sunday quickly here, Joe Denver and
28:15Las Vegas. Bo Nix on the road over a touchdown favorite. Max Crosby didn't practice yesterday.
28:20If he doesn't go the heck do they have? Yeah, that's exactly correct. What do they have? But
28:26again, Denver on the road, laying a big number, not exactly great. Uh, I would take Vegas in the
28:35first half football Friday people. That's how we get down the business. It's not, he writes
28:41that it's showing here. We're going to keep rolling along more games on deck. Next Rams might
28:45have thought they were having a little bit of a soft point in their schedule to pick up some easy
28:48victories on the road last week against Carolina, had a lead in that game. The rain came in in the
28:52second half and they lost that game and credit. The Carolina Panthers were staying in the playoff
28:56race or at least in that NFC South race. But now the Rams head back out onto the road this week.
29:01They'll be back in a dome in Arizona to take on Jacoby Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals,
29:05but the feisty Arizona Cardinals, at least on offense, the Rams are a heavy favorite in this game,
29:10Joe minus eight and a half points in the total. That's listed at 48 and a half. I'm looking at
29:15points in this game because I know the Rams can score, but I just like what I see out of Arizona.
29:19They'll push the football downfield, forcing the Rams to stay in this game and continue their
29:24scoring 48 and a half, 47 and a half in the marketplace. I think we can get into the fifties
29:28in this game. Yeah. And listen, I think that it's so funny because the Rams dominated that game
29:37against Carolina before the rain started in the second half, Donnie. I don't think they had,
29:42they didn't see a fourth down in the entire first half and then the skies opened up. And then of
29:48course the three turnovers and then that was it. So I would kind of be shocked though if McVay says,
29:55all right, let's drop them back 40 times again and let's see what happens. I think they're going to
30:00rely a little bit more on the running game here and try to win this game in the trenches.
30:05Uh, listen, Arizona has shown some fight and it's really nice, but I, you know, the number one team
30:13against defending tight ends this year is the Rams defense without training pride. Who exactly are
30:19you going to Brissette? So I think that, yes, this is a good bounce back spot for the Rams. I would
30:25lay it in this opportunity against this Arizona team. Yeah, I think we do get some points. I think
30:31it makes some sense in that game. And again, we're not worried about, Hey, 22 degree conditions
30:35and snow coming in. They're playing in a dome. Here's exactly. Both of those teams want to be
30:39one team looking for the playoffs, the Rams, one team out of it for Arizona. We'll see how long
30:43Jonathan Gannon makes it also as the head coach for the Cardinals here have on this game, Joe 425
30:48national game. The Chicago bears, one of the hottest teams in professional football just knocked
30:53off the Philadelphia Eagles. They would be the number one seat at the season ended today. Green Bay
30:57and Mr. Love at home. A lot of love actually going to the bears, Joe 80 plus percent of the
31:04tickets coming in on the bears. This line opened up at five and a half, but now we see six and a half
31:09across the board. The total of 44 and a half freezing cold, freezing cold Lambeau field,
31:16the frozen tundra. How are we playing this one? Uh, well, listen, it's I'll say this. We're going
31:23to learn a little bit about the Chicago bears this week and whether or not, uh, what we have seen thus
31:30far is sustainable for them moving forward. I have always had my doubts. And I think this is a game
31:36where it's going to get exposed because I don't think the bears are going to be able to run the ball,
31:40uh, successfully on the road against this Packers defense, who is really, you know, top six or seven
31:47in the NFL in stopping it, which means Caleb Williams is a guy that is going to have to, uh,
31:55is going to have to try to use his arm to beat Green Bay. And that is where I think everything will
32:00come crashing back down to reality here. Uh, Green Bay cannot lose a third game at Lambeau as a favorite,
32:07uh, kind of hard to believe they lost the first two there. I do think that, uh, the Green Bay Packers
32:13make a statement in this game, win this game, and we'll keep their foot on the gas, uh, in the fourth
32:20quarter. Would be a big statement when a Chicago can go into Lambeau, win that game, then to be the
32:25front runners there to win the NFC North Houston and Kansas city. I'm intrigued by this game on Sunday.
32:30I can't wait to watch it play out. This isn't the Kansas city team that we're used to. They came up
32:34land against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving day. They're going to face maybe the best defense
32:39in professional football. And the offensive line is banged up for Kansas city. They're not as
32:43explosive as they were. They're going to be held their feet to the fire going up against that
32:47defense. The question is though, can CJ Stroud come up with a game plan to beat Steve Spagnuolo
32:52in his own building, a three and a half point favorite for the chiefs and a total 41 and a half
32:58man of the chiefs game at 41 and a half insane. Yeah. I mean, listen, Houston has had to empty
33:05the tank a lot just to get back to this point, Donnie, where they're now, of course, back into
33:12the thick of thing in the division and everything else. And you got to wonder, you've got a very
33:16desperate and championship Kansas city team here at home. Weather doesn't look to be great
33:23here. And Houston has always been better at home this season, that defense then on the road.
33:29So now we're in December and now all of a sudden weather is going to be an issue. You're going
33:34into an environment here in Kansas city that they have owned. I wonder how much Houston has left in
33:41the tank here. It feels like, Hey, listen, five in a row. It's likely six in a row with the Kansas
33:49city chiefs here. Philadelphia Eagles in the Los Angeles chargers, two teams battling to make it
33:54into the playoffs. The Eagles hoping to win their division, but it's sort of been collapsing as of
33:58late and getting injured, quite frankly, but they're going to take on the chargers who don't
34:01have a very good offensive line. And now their quarterback has a broken hand. He's probably going
34:05to play, but can he take snaps under center? How's it going to affect the running game? Can he
34:10protect himself in the pocket? But the bigger questions are, what are we getting out of the
34:13Philadelphia Eagles on offense, particularly from Jalen hurts? You have a game that's played in a dome,
34:18no cold weathers, no swirly, windy conditions. They should have a different offensive game plan.
34:22But again, Joe, they're favored in this game minus two and a half. That's a surprise to a lot of
34:25people. Yeah, it really is here. I mean, I, and to me, I want nothing to do with the side in this.
34:34I would much rather go with the under here, Donnie, because I think that we have seen especially
34:42home dogs here, right? The last 34 Monday night football games where there was a home dog in
34:48have gone under 23 and nine, 72%, only 40 points per game. So the home team dog usually puts up a
34:58pretty big fight. And I think both defenses are going to be the best units on the field Donnie in
35:03that game. Yeah, no, it's, it's one to play out because I expect better performances and you're
35:09just doing that old double up. There are big prices on touchdown props for AJ Brown and also
35:14Devante Smith in this game and also for Jalen Hurts to go for over one and a half touchdown
35:17passes. And also one of those PSAs that we like all year long, it felt like the market was really
35:22collapsing on over one and a half touchdowns. You have to pay egregious numbers. That's not the case
35:27this weekend. So maybe some bounce backs. And if you thought last night, like, Hey, look at that game
35:31last night, all the amount of scoring they did. Do you see what the quarterbacks did yesterday?
35:35Barely thrown for any touchdown passes in that game. Most of the damage was done on the ground.
35:39We'll see if that bounces back. But we got a full schedule, which included that Monday night game.
35:43We just hit for Philadelphia and Los Angeles, but now we're going to get to in the next segment.
35:47Bye, bye, bye. Me and Joe need some winners. Start off the week hot, cooled off a little bit,
35:51but Friday is Friday is payday. If I can say that that's how excited I am to get to the picks,
35:57to get to what the people have to say and to end the show in style on a Friday. It's how we get down
36:02people. It's a sports grid network. Come on back with us. The energy was high all show. The energy was high
36:08all week. What an important weekend of sports we have this weekend, Joe Ranieri, because tonight
36:12we start the college football countdown. We'll have important games tonight, major consequence
36:18games tomorrow and teams that aren't even playing that will be tuned in and rooting for certain people
36:23to win and certain people to lose. Then Sunday by about noon, we'll find exactly who is going to be
36:30in the college football playoff. I love this week, Joe. I think it's going to be fantastic. But before we
36:35get there, we'd like to reach out to the people and ask them for their thoughts on a certain topic.
36:39Here's Fave, the public.
36:48Let's get to the marketplace, people, and understand this. Sometimes we take a look back,
36:52Joe, last night and see what happened there and try to apply it to a future question. That question
36:57that we asked at SportsGrid on X today, will the Cowboys make the playoffs this season? Red hot over
37:02the past couple of games, needed to beat Detroit. They didn't beat Detroit. They're back to 500.
37:08And take a look at this poll. Will the Cowboys make the playoffs this season? The simple question
37:12was yes or no. No, at minus 1,400 leads the way with close to 89% of the live vote. People not
37:23believing in those Dallas Cowboys, Joe Ranieri. Well, I mean, listen, that's pretty good value right now
37:29at the yes, right? Donnie, giving yourself an opportunity because, again, they win a couple
37:35more games and all of a sudden that number begins to increase here. And I, listen, anything is
37:42possible. In order for that, you have to be so convinced that Philadelphia has just been playing
37:47with its food and they're going to snap their fingers and somehow just run away with everything.
37:51If you think there's a chance that doesn't happen, yeah, I'd rather much have it at this
37:58price, Donnie, than wait after a couple of games where Dallas is now just a game behind
38:03them and we're all going, oh my goodness, I should have backed Dallas when I had the
38:07chance. Yeah, it feels like now that they're really just on Eagles watch because the Eagles
38:12play the Chargers. If the Eagles beat the Chargers, it's probably a wrap because the following
38:16week the Eagles play the Raiders at home. They don't need anybody active or ready to go
38:19and they'll probably clinch the division at that point. But it does get a little tedious
38:23because the one thing you look at, it says the Eagles have the fourth easiest schedule
38:26on the way out. Like, oh, that helps the Eagles. But understand this, if Washington under Dan Quinn
38:31is bringing back Jaden Daniels and you play them two times before the season ends and still have
38:35the Buffalo Bills, that's no cakewalk for a Philadelphia Eagles team right now just looking
38:39to get right at this point. We'll see where that goes.
