00:00Buffalo Bills on the road again for a Thursday night tilt, an AFC battle between Buffalo and Houston tonight.
00:05This line opened up as a look ahead, Joe, around two and a half.
00:08C.J. Stroud's down.
00:09It's ballooned up to six at a lot of outlets, but a little bit of a buyback this morning, Joe.
00:12Pandu and DraftKings both dropping to minus five and a half now as a favorite for the Buffalo Bills.
00:17A total listed at 43 and a half.
00:19Allen versus Mills tonight.
00:21Your spread line here is what?
00:23Well, you're right.
00:24I mean, we knew that the minute C.J. Stroud was either, you know, saying, hey, he's going or he's not going, there would be movement one way or the other.
00:35We thought if he was able to play and pass the concussion protocol, this line would have moved towards Houston.
00:40But that's not the case.
00:42And sure enough, now we're just under the key number of seven here with six.
00:46But the interesting thing here, Donnie, is how are we getting a, what, another field goal here?
00:53Six, six and a half points.
00:55But the total, Donnie, it's still at 43 and a half, which is exactly what we opened.
01:01So we're not expecting any more points.
01:04We're just expecting Buffalo to win by more of them.
01:08This is a very tricky spot here.
01:10I don't know that I'd be running to the window with Buffalo expecting a touchdown or more with that defense.
01:16But the total doesn't feel like we're getting anywhere near 44 points.
01:22NFL news and notes, people, on a Thursday, yeah, we are going to get to the game tonight down in Houston between the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans.
01:29But before we get there, another AFC quarterback looking to make his return.
01:32And we say, for who, for what?
01:34As Ricky Waters used to say in the city of Philadelphia when the alligator arm passes when they were losing football games.
01:41Burrow, a full participant in practice, first time since the injury, Joe's 21-day practice window is now open.
01:48When they ask coach, hey, man, you think he can play this week?
01:51He's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:52Got to see some practices.
01:53But he's close to 100% now.
01:56Listen, I, of course, Joe Burrow wants to get back out on the field.
02:01I mean, who wouldn't?
02:02But I'd be watching very closely that offensive line in practice there, Joe, and ask yourself, do I really want to go out and take more hits here with it?
02:14Because once again, they're not going to protect you.
02:17And I'll say, Donnie, again, what did Flacco do?
02:20Flacco's putting up 30, 40 points a game, and your defense is giving up 50.
02:24So I'm not sure what the difference is here at this point.
02:28If you can't protect Burrow, he's your future, not Flacco.
02:32Going to be interesting to see what Zach Taylor, is he trying to save his job with Flacco?
02:36I don't know.
02:37I still think he's another guy that will be fired by season's end.
02:41By the way, also, Jamar Chase isn't playing this game.
02:44You're not bringing Joe Burrow back cold off the bench here without his top target.
02:47So they've always been looking forward to Thanksgiving weekend there as a chance to bring him back, which is probably what's going to happen.
02:52Full week of practice.
02:53Make sure he's healthy.
02:54Play him next week.
02:55Full complement of weapons, and away you go here.
02:57Chris Boyd still recovering after being involved in a shooting.
03:00Positive news.
03:01I believe he's breathing on his own now here.
03:04As I like to say, Joe, nothing good happens after, like, midnight out there.
03:07So it looks like he is surviving and getting better, which is a good sign.
03:12Yeah.
03:12I've been hammered that from my grandmother down every generation, right?
03:16Nothing good happens after 11 o'clock.
03:19It's, yeah, well, it's such an unfortunate situation.
03:23I don't think they've even arrested anybody yet.
03:26So hopefully he's on the road to recovery, and we'll get back to the Jets sooner rather than later.
03:31That's for sure.
03:32On the road to recovery is Michael Penix here.
03:35Another ACL reconstruction.
03:37I believe, Joe, his third of his career, I want to say at this point now, not really a young quarterback based on wear and tear on that knee.
03:43And who's to say he doesn't come back next year?
03:45And the same thing happens.
03:46When things repeat itself in the past, they probably happen again in the future.
03:50This is a tough look for Atlanta.
03:51But the one thing I do know is here, Raheem Morris will probably be looking to go back to a defensive coordinator somewhere across the NFL.
03:57They need a regime change.
03:59Your franchise quarterback down again.
04:01And also, ACLs, you tear them, Joe, in November.
04:04You're probably not coming back till next November at the earliest either at this point.
04:07Tough scene.
04:08But, again, I mean, the good news is you don't have to worry about going out spending money on a backup quarterback because you have one.
04:17You have a $180 million one in Kurt Cousins at 36 years old who is waiting in the wings.
04:24It's just awful.
04:25I mean, it really is.
04:27I mean, this is Penix's fifth season-ending injury in eight seasons between college and the NFL, Donnie.
04:34And this was always the risk Atlanta should have known when they took him with that first pick.
04:41It's almost like for a franchise, too.
04:43It's like you have no hope, Joe, right?
04:44You're just trying to get the people back involved.
04:46Penix is there.
04:46You got London at wideout, Bijan at tailback.
04:49And nothing ever works out for Atlanta here.
04:51And you can say the same for the Arizona Cardinals.
04:53Hey, eventually we'll get better.
04:55We got Kyler Murray.
04:56Oh, that doesn't work out.
04:57He's always injured.
04:57Now we have one of the best wide receivers coming out of college we've seen in the past decade, Marvin Harrison Jr.
05:01Didn't work out all that great last year.
05:03Injured this year.
05:05Appendixes.
05:06Now he's going to be ruled out for week 12.
05:07Trey Benson, though, he's back in his 21-day practice window.
05:10And they got their coach, Jonathan Gannon, going like, hey, I can't fire myself.
05:15No, they can't.
05:17But do we really think he would have made a difference in beating the 40?
05:21No.
05:21The 49ers were actually going to run them over one way or the other.
05:25But listen, you know, they are, to me, Donnie, continuing to be an overbet.
05:30So the more weapons you can get healthy, absolutely.
05:34I mean, I won't be looking at any unders in Arizona games from here on out.
05:39Joe, by the way, do you know I'm big on TikTok right now?
05:41Started a TikTok account about a month ago.
05:43Starting to learn some features on there.
05:44I did a video yesterday on Shador Sanders because I needed to get your input.
05:48And I know we talked over the commercial break.
05:49Shador Sanders is getting his first start.
05:51Yes, he's going to be better prepared than the week before because backup quarterbacks don't get first reps with the first team here.
05:57He's now getting them in a game plan that's going to be tailored exactly towards him.
06:01This is one of the worst defenses you're going to go up and play in the in the regulars.
06:05Look at your door.
06:06One fifty eight and a half is his passing prop, Joe.
06:09But his passing attempt is twenty eight and a half.
06:11So we're expecting twenty nine pass attempts with one hundred and fifty eight yards.
06:15Something ain't math in here to me.
06:18I love the market is basically telling you what you're going to get here.
06:22There is going to be a lot of throws behind the line of scrimmage.
06:25There is going to be a lot of dinking and dunking here, Donnie.
06:29And none of it is going to matter because he likely won't have enough time to throw the ball deep anyway.
06:35I got to tell you, like wide receiver, throwing behind the line of scrimmage and behind wide receivers when they're wide open.
06:40That's what it sounds like to me.
06:42Let's get to the Thursday football game tonight.
06:43Next.
06:45Ah, back on the early line NFL action tonight from H-Town.
06:49That's the Buffalo Bills taking on the Houston Texans.
06:51There are major playoff implications for both ball clubs tonight.
06:55For the Buffalo Bills, they're looking to try to stay paced with the New England Patriots.
06:59You might have a layup victory this week against the Cincinnati Bengals where they're favored by close to double digits.
07:03Houston just looking to hang around the race.
07:05Not going to win the AFC South, but maybe in the wild card position.
07:08Davis Mills has started, Joe, the last two games and picked up victories here.
07:12He's going to start another game because CJ Stroud is not ready to come back from a concussion.
07:16Looking at the total in this game, 43-and-a-half, down from 45-and-a-half, but a line that's racing from the look-ahead favorite for the Buffalo Bills at 2-and-a-half, now up to 5-and-a-half, and 6s at most outlets here, Joe.
07:29Let's start with the Buffalo Bills as the side here, favored by close to a touchdown.
07:33Smart or not smart?
07:35And you're agreeing here with 78% of the public going like, oh, I like those Buffalo Bills minus the points tonight.
07:41I like the Bills at minus 3.
07:44I don't know that I like them at minus 6.
07:46Just simply, again, Donnie, we talked about it in the spread line.
07:50You're talking about a game where we watch the spread double and the total go nowhere.
07:56I mean, this is a very key number in NFL totals, 43 here, 43-and-a-half.
08:03And if we are convinced that Houston's offense with Davis Mills, who, by the way, I mean, they've won, what, three of their last four games.
08:11They've won two in a row with him under center.
08:13And by the way, he's averaging 280, 285 yards passing a game.
08:19And it's not like this defense of the Bills is some sort of juggernaut where they're going to be able to limit his ability to be able to throw the ball.
08:29And we know, Houston, that defense should be able to hold up well in this matchup here.
08:35But, again, it's going to come down to who makes enough plays to win this game.
08:40I don't think it's going to be high scoring.
08:42I would much rather have the points with the home team on a short week than the road team in this spot.
08:48I think the Bills win.
08:50But, my goodness, I'm not running into the window to lay six.
08:53I think maybe the team total is the way to look.
08:56If you're not buying Houston's offense, then fade their team total here tonight.
09:01Yeah, here's an interesting point in this game, too, as you take a look at it.
09:03Petrie's down in the secondary, one of the better cover defenders there.
09:06So, that's going to help the Buffalo Bills.
09:08But when you say help the Buffalo Bills, they usually work inside out, right?
09:12The slot positions, clear Shakir.
09:13Same thing with Knox, the Titans, a little bit older.
09:15And usually it's Kincaid doing most of the damage.
09:18Kincaid, Joe, as we know, down with a hamstring injury, he's not going to play,
09:21which then you lean more on Dawson Knox, more of an aging player.
09:23But the outside here, Keon Coleman, who was deactivated because he's sleeping through meetings
09:29and missing meetings and coming through late.
09:31Shaver's on the opposite side.
09:32Most people don't even know who the heck that guy is.
09:34Palmer trying to work his way back from an injury.
09:36This is an offense, Joe, that I don't think is going to be all that explosive,
09:39which I think feeds right into the belief of the 45 and a half going down to the 43 and a half.
09:43Because from both sides here, Buffalo's got a decent defense.
09:46You've got some good wide receivers for the Houston Texans.
09:48But also, the ground game for Houston.
09:51You know, Woody back there running.
09:52I mean, come on now.
09:53That guy's not going to be busting long runs.
09:55So, for me, I think it plays right into both of these teams,
09:57usually sloppy anyway on a Thursday, to physical football teams.
10:01I do think we see a 23-20 style game in this one without pushing the football forward.
10:06But looking at Josh Allen, it seems like he's going to have to do it all once again for the Buffalo Bills,
10:11just like he did last week, Joe.
10:13Well, you know, the good thing for Buffalo is that that offensive line of Houston is terrible.
10:18So, running the ball is going to be tough, I think, for the Texans one way or the other.
10:24And by the way, how far has Nick Chubb fallen?
10:26You see what his rushing number is?
10:2720 and a half yards.
10:29And he carries the Woody Marks.
10:32Absolutely crazy.
10:33And by the way, if he can't get 20 and a half yards against this Buffalo defense,
10:37I don't know what to tell you there, Nick Chubb.
10:39You might want to hang it up.
10:40But it's going to be.
10:42But keep an eye on it.
10:43You know, Shavers had a touchdown last week.
10:44Had no problem getting open against that secondary.
10:47And you know who else kind of changed the whole game there was having Gabe Davis back,
10:52a very reliable target of Josh Allen over the years.
10:57He was back, and he played a big role in that game as well.
11:00So, yeah, Josh Allen, this is the time of year where he usually drops it into another gear.
11:07He has that lull like they had.
11:09And now he has a game with six touchdowns.
11:12Now he goes on a road to a top defense.
11:14It's going to be a slugfest.
11:16But ultimately, you know Josh Allen's going to make, whether with his legs or with his arm,
11:22he's going to make enough plays to win this game for the Buffalo Bills.
11:26Yeah, they keep on hanging these Davis Mills numbers in the low 200s,
11:29like as low as 205 to 215, depending where he's shopping out over the past couple weeks.
11:33He's 211 in this one.
11:34And again, we like to use correlations.
11:36If the game plan is the Buffalo Bills are going to win,
11:38that means you're probably throwing in the second half.
11:40And also understand this.
11:41The way I think you attack the Buffalo Bills is not actually running the football.
11:44It's on the outside.
11:45Their corners and safeties have been struggling this year.
11:47It's a dome.
11:48We don't have to worry about playing in Buffalo with 40-mile-an-hour winds.
11:50So I do think Davis Mills has a legitimate chance to go over the 211.5.
11:54But if we are looking, Joe, touchdown props tonight, it's no surprise.
11:58Again, Josh Allen is the favorite at a minus 120 price point.
12:00James Cook, minus 115.
12:02Everybody else now at a plus money number.
12:05If you had to say, you know what, one player there, it is a scapegoat to say Josh Allen.
12:09But he probably does run one in.
12:10I think absolutely correct.
12:14I think he is.
12:15Even at minus, I could make the argument, Donnie, that that's actually cheap with Josh Allen.
12:20Because if they get inside the red zone, which I'm sure they're going to it at a couple opportunities,
12:26if James Cook ain't the answer, it's going to be Josh Allen.
12:29He's tough to stop.
12:31And they seem to have had your Eagles tush-push situation down pretty well, too.
12:37They've run it a couple of times now, and, you know, he's, what, 6'6", 6'6".
12:41Very hard to bring down here.
12:43So I like that number, even at minus 120, 125.
12:47Yeah, we were so surprised, what, two weeks ago, the Josh Allen tush-push got 15 yards,
12:51and he fumbled.
12:52It's like, oh, my goodness, what was more crazy, getting 15 yards on a quarterback sneaker,
12:55actually fumbling the football at the end of the play.
12:58By the way, I was expecting Keon Coleman to play.
13:01I didn't see this last night, and we'll bring up this graphic right now.
13:03Now, Ruffalo plans to bench Keon Coleman again on Thursday night football.
13:07Did he not understand the task at hand was, hey, my pro-life is flashing before my eyes.
13:14You know, they benched me.
13:15I better put in some hard, but he's obviously doing the same things he did before the suspension.
13:19Looks like he's not going to go again tonight, Joe.
13:21They need all the help they can get at wide receiver, and he's down again.
13:24Well, and I think that, you know, Gabe Davis and, you know, the guy, the kid,
13:29the reshapers showed that you're not learning a whole lot, or you're not missing a whole lot with him.
13:35But don't forget, he was a head case at Florida State, too.
13:38So, I mean, the Bills were, you know, I didn't understand the draft pick,
13:42especially when Worthy was available.
13:44I didn't understand it at all with Buffalo.
13:47But, you know, they thought this kid was going to be, you know,
13:51the answer for Josh Allen to replace Diggs.
13:53But he has been a head case since he was at Florida State.
13:57Yeah, it's interesting because, again, you hope this kid would snap into it.
14:01He was supposed to be the, oh, we got rid of Stephon Diggs.
14:03This guy's going to take control of the situation and handle his business.
14:06And he hasn't done that here.
14:07And that's why the Buffalo Bills at the trade deadline were desperate,
14:10and we're looking to possibly overpay for a wide receiver,
14:13but couldn't get that done either.
14:14So, you're going to be relying on guys like Shavers down the stretch.
14:17Josh Allen's good.
14:18We'll see if he can make it happen here.
14:20And, by the way, the AFC East, we talk about it.
14:22The Patriots were, I believe, minus 250 yesterday, Joe.
14:24Now down to minus 240, which isn't a big move, 10 cents there.
14:27The Bills at a plus 190 price.
14:29Do we think the Bills can catch the Patriots,
14:31or is it just the Bills looking to catch the Patriots
14:33once they get in the playoffs to beat them to move forward?
14:36Well, there's no doubt the Patriots' schedule is certainly favorable,
14:40but they will have to take on the Bills another time here,
14:45coming up, I think, in week 15.
14:48So, you know, we haven't seen necessarily that letdown game from New England yet.
14:53You know, the game they're now, everyone's supposed to win,
14:56but they don't.
14:57And I think that game is still going to happen,
15:00because I'm still not sure about the Buffalo game,
15:03that they're going to be a favorite in that one.
15:06So, I think Buffalo's got a shot, but now would be the time to back them, Donnie,
15:11because if they win this game and they win it easily,
15:14you know, you ain't getting that number anymore.
15:16Again, I love this race, which means if the AFC winner goes to the Patriots,
15:20they'll have home field advantage and would play Buffalo
15:22if they played them in the playoffs at home.
15:25But then you look at the odds to win the AFC, it's like,
15:27yeah, sure, the Buffalo Bills are going to win this thing,
15:29and the Patriots don't have any chance being priced at a 7-1.
15:32Those are the correlated markets, Joe, I love at this point here.
15:34And also, MVP, look how close it is, too, between Drake May and Josh Allen.
15:40Woo, Patriots and the Bills down the stretch, Joe, some fun.
15:43Yes, down the stretch, except Stafford is going to win it hands down this year,
15:48and it's well-deserved, too, with a guy 37 years old.
15:52But, listen, it's going to come down to, all right, round one went to May.
15:58What is round two going to look like here in week 15?
16:01Ah, what about round three, four, five, and six with the Colts and the Chiefs?
16:06Let's get some weekend previews underway next.
16:09Weekend Warriors, people, that's what we are.
16:11We love college football.
16:12We love the NFL.
16:13We love to get the landscape cut out.
16:15So we say, hmm, what exactly is going to happen?
16:17I'll tell you what's going to happen, Joe.
16:181 p.m. on Sunday, we got a good one in the AFC.
16:22It's the Indianapolis Colts.
16:23The season ended today, right now in the AFC.
16:25They're the number one overall seed.
16:26They're going to take on Kansas City, who sits at .500.
16:29When that game was over last week, when the Kansas City Chiefs got beat by the Denver Broncos,
16:34I said, you can throw the haymaker of all haymakers next week
16:38and knock the Chiefs out of playoff contention by dropping them to 5 and 6,
16:42which would mean, Joe, just about every team they need to get over,
16:46every team has the tiebreaker against them, and they're under .500.
16:50But look at this line.
16:51Awful bye week.
16:52This week, Indianapolis getting three and a half points from the Kansas City Chiefs
16:56with a total of 49 and a half.
16:58I thought last week was the perfect situation to take the Chiefs.
17:01They embarrassed me.
17:03Do you jump back on the Chiefs this week?
17:05Because you look at this line and go, something's cooking there as a favorite at Arrowhead.
17:10Well, again, with that look-ahead line being more, Donnie,
17:13it appears that finally, after a million years,
17:18the public is getting off of the Kansas City Chiefs bandwagon.
17:22Can you believe it, Donnie?
17:24I mean, it was for how long now, didn't make a difference who the Chiefs were playing,
17:29what the line was.
17:30The public was always backing Andy Reid and Mahomes.
17:34And now, finally, we have a situation where the public's like, nope, not doing it anymore.
17:40And let me tell you another bit of news that flew under the radar this week for the Colts.
17:45They did activate Chavarius Ward.
17:49Now, he is able.
17:50He's now been cleared.
17:52And he will be back on the field in that secondary.
17:55Now, what have they done since he's gone?
17:57Oh, well, we're talking about a shutdown corner here from the 49ers.
18:01And the Chiefs know him all too well, Donnie.
18:03Now he's with the Colts.
18:05And they went out and got Sauce Gardner in the meantime.
18:08So now that's secondary of the Colts with Ward and Sauce Gardner.
18:14And you got Kenny Moore back there.
18:16I mean, Lou Anarumo, the defensive coordinator for the Colts, has got to be, I mean, just celebrating
18:23right now what he's got to work with in the back end, which is going to make life very
18:28difficult for Kansas City, even at home.
18:31And nobody knows Ward better than Kansas City since he played there.
18:35Seems like that's the only good game of 1 o'clock.
18:38And there's one good game at 4 o'clock, which we'll get to just a little bit later.
18:40But the Vikings and the Packers could be a good game at 1 o'clock.
18:43Joe, Green Bay at home.
18:45We don't know if Josh Jacobs is going to be the starting running back, banged up a little
18:48bit in his knee with victory, I should say, against the New York Giants.
18:51McCarthy looked absolutely terrible outside of one drive, which gave them the league.
18:55But then a huge kick return and a field goal late gave the Bears the victory.
18:58The reeling.
18:59Minnesota Vikings getting 6.5 from Green Bay.
19:01Joe, but I got to tell you, even though they're the public, you know, dog, which you never
19:06like to see, I am feeling Minnesota with the 6.5 right now.
19:08I just don't think Green Bay is all that explosive on offense.
19:12Well, we know they're not, Donnie.
19:14And we know exactly what this Minnesota defense can bring to the table.
19:17And it's not like Lambeau has been a great comfort to Green Bay.
19:23Donnie, the last two games they've played at home, they lost as favorites, big favorites.
19:27And they haven't been able to get it done here.
19:30So, you know, Kevin O'Connell, pretty good coach here in this one, too, as well.
19:36So the big question to me is whether or not we can trust McCarthy to make enough big plays
19:42to maybe get it done on the road.
19:45But I think it's going to have to be the Vikings defense that's going to have to give
19:49them a chance to do it.
19:50Maybe on the ground, Donnie, more than anything else.
19:53Because look at what the Giants did to that vaunted defense on the ground.
19:57That offensive line pushed a very, what felt like, gassed defensive front of the Green Bay
20:04Packers last week.
20:05I think the under might be the best look of the week in this game.
20:09I got to tell you, next game up here, Joe.
20:11And look, I always like to say I am the most unbiased professional handicapper on this network,
20:17Joe, because I love my Philadelphia Eagles.
20:19I love the Sixers.
20:19I love the Flyers.
20:20I love everything that comes out of Philadelphia, including the Philadelphia Phillies, when
20:24they let me down.
20:25Eagles are on the road this weekend, Joe.
20:27Minus threes, minus three and a half in the landscape.
20:30You know, Cowboys look good against the Raiders.
20:31But again, the Raiders are bad.
20:32You don't want to take too much away from that.
20:34The Eagles defense has been absolutely incredible.
20:36But I look at this number and I say, all right, the Philadelphia Eagles on offense, on the
20:40road.
20:40They're going to be down two offensive linemen this weekend.
20:42Cam Juergen's probably not playing.
20:44And Lane Johnson, we know, is down at least four to six weeks.
20:46So they're down two of their best offensive linemen here, which means the right side of
20:50that line is going to be kind of weak.
20:52The running game hasn't worked out all that well because they can't block for the running
20:54game.
20:55Now you're down two starters, maybe the best right tackle in football.
20:58The passing game should be okay.
20:59But again, how much time are you going to have back in the pocket of that revamped defensive
21:03line for the Dallas Cowboys?
21:04I am rooting for the Eagles.
21:06The Eagles should win this game.
21:07They're favored to do it.
21:08But I have to tell you, I like the Cowboys getting the points, Joe.
21:10I just do.
21:11Well, Donnie, listen, if you like trends, here's two of them for you.
21:16Yeah.
21:16Yeah.
21:17They've won three games in a row.
21:19The Philadelphia Eagles, right?
21:20Do you know the last time they've won four straight games, Donnie?
21:26Last year?
21:282000 to 2002.
21:31That was the last time they rattled off six.
21:34No, your Eagles have not won four straight games since 2000 and 2002 when they rattled off
21:41six straights back in the day.
21:43That's amazing to me.
21:46They were 10 and 1.
21:47Open up the season at 1.2 years ago.
21:49They had to win four in a row.
21:50Against the Cowboys.
21:51Against the Cowboys.
21:51Oh, oh.
21:52Against the Cowboys.
21:53They have not won four straight against the Cowboys.
21:55Yes.
21:55Against the Cowboys.
21:57They have not done that and dominated the Cowboys.
21:59And I'll tell you the reason why.
22:01Dak Prescott.
22:02That's why.
22:03Because Dak Prescott, for all of his faults, owns the – and I don't know why this is.
22:09He owns the NFC East.
22:10He's 31 and 13 against the NFC East.
22:14And when he's a home dog, Donnie, it's even – his record's even crazier.
22:19He can't beat anybody else, but he has been able to cash tickets against the NFC East.
22:25And I can't figure it out.
22:26I really can't figure out what that reason is.
22:29And, you know, he does have success.
22:31He's a good regular season quarterback.
22:32There's no question about that.
22:34They're healthy now at this point, which means two really good wide receivers.
22:37The running game with Williams has been very good as of late and for the season itself.
22:42If he gets protection, they will move the football.
22:43Again, the Eagles have a great defense, a great secondary, great linebackers, and a great front line.
22:47But I'm not worried about the Eagles' defense.
22:49I'm just worried about their offense.
22:51You just need to compete.
22:52You're not going to be able to hide behind.
22:53It's really cold temperatures.
22:54We'll hold this team down.
22:55You're in a dome.
22:56You better perform.
22:56And maybe they will, and they're favored to do so, and they're a good football team.
23:00I just get a little bit nervous, Joe, when I look at this actual line and say, I would
23:03not be surprised, like, if we're getting a 24-21, 27-24, either way at this point.
23:09I don't think either one of these teams will be a double-digit victory, which means a one
23:13possession game in the fourth quarter makes a lot of sense.
23:15So a good game to watch there.
23:17Good one at 1 o'clock, Indianapolis, Kansas City.
23:19Good one at 4 o'clock with Philadelphia and Dallas as we continue to roll along.
23:23Jets and the Ravens this week, we've been previewing what's actually going to take place
23:27for the quarterback position from the Baltimore Ravens, because Lamar Jackson mispracticed
23:31yesterday.
23:32Expectations will play this weekend, and quite frankly, if he doesn't play, they'll probably
23:35still win anyway as two touchdown favorites over the New York Jets.
23:39But we want answers here.
23:41Tyrod Taylor's going to be the starting quarterback, and Aaron Glenn is telling you why.
23:45Peter, more than two-to-me quarterbacks.
23:47Are you going to get out of this?
23:49Yeah.
23:50Yeah, I said that on Monday, I talked to both of those guys, talked to the team on
23:54Monday, so Tyrod will be our starter.
23:56Why did you cybernake that move?
23:58Because I wanted to.
24:00It was purely my decision.
24:01I felt like it was the time to do it.
24:03Again, had good conversation with both of those guys.
24:06And listen, these situations are not always easy.
24:09You know, but as a head coach, you have to do what's best for the team.
24:11I feel like it was the best for the team.
24:14He should have said, Joe, and here he go, ask Rich Cimini, because he obviously has the
24:17news before I even deliver the news to my team.
24:19But Tyrod Taylor, the move had to be done.
24:22But Joe, put Tyrod Taylor at tight end.
24:26Or excuse me, put Tyrod Taylor at quarterback and put Justin Fields at tight end.
24:29That's an extra weapon on the field.
24:31Why is nobody listening to me up at Florham Park?
24:33Why?
24:34I don't know.
24:36I'm shocked that he actually let the cat out of the bag as early as he did.
24:39He did.
24:40It's kind of shocking.
24:42Because now you've given the Ravens and Harbaugh, oh my goodness.
24:45You've given him extra time to prepare for Tyrod Taylor.
24:50Got to be kidding me.
24:51The strange part about this is when you look at it, though, Donnie, the Ravens are a two
24:56touchdown favorite at home, and they're five and five.
24:59They're a 500 team laying two touchdowns here.
25:04This has not happened since 2009, Donnie.
25:08You got a mediocre team playing an under 500 team, and they're a 14-point favorite?
25:13Make it make sense.
25:14It's my goodness.
25:16It doesn't.
25:16This game only goes two ways.
25:18It's like 40-3 Ravens or Tyrod Taylor's the ball in his hands with 30 seconds to go with
25:22a chance to win it outright for the Jets.
25:24Like, there is no in-between in this game.
25:26It just feels like, and that's the way it should be.
25:28Oh, no.
25:29As we talk about the quarterbacks, Joe, you take a look at the New York Giants.
25:32They fired their head coach because of how they handle their quarterback situation.
25:35Too many design runs.
25:36You're going to kill my young franchise quarterback.
25:38And Mike Kafka's like, psst, hey, kid, you want to play this weekend?
25:42We'll play if you want to.
25:43It looks like we're setting the stage for Jackson Dart to return back to the football field and
25:48take on an angry Detroit Lions team on the road.
25:5110-and-a-half point favorite for the Lions.
25:53Total around 49-and-a-half to 50-and-a-half.
25:55Jameis was fine last week.
25:57Give the kid an extra week, specifically against playing against Detroit at this point, Joe.
26:01Talking about Jackson Dart back under center.
26:03Make it make sense.
26:05Yeah, now he's, yeah.
26:07So, there could very well be he is under center this week.
26:10I don't get why.
26:11But, listen, the way the Giants' offensive line got the push against, let's face it, Donnie,
26:19that's, what, is all of a sudden the Green Bay defense?
26:22That's what, now they're, they're not the Detroit team.
26:26Like, you got to be kidding me here.
26:28So, if they can run the ball and that offense can win in the trenches like they did against
26:34the Packers, then, yeah, don't ask the kid to do a whole heck of a lot and give it a
26:39shot there.
26:40But if you're going to run 25 designed runs for him, then you're no better than Dable
26:46at this point.
26:46Your career is probably over.
26:48Here we go, Steelers.
26:51Here we go.
26:51Big win last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, but it came at a cost.
26:54Aaron Rodgers did break his left wrist here.
26:57He's saying there's a chance he plays this weekend and his wrist feels much better than
27:00what it felt.
27:01But also, at the same time, you got to be smart about this because it's about protecting
27:05yourself if you fall down.
27:07But you know what team that absolutely gets owned by?
27:10That's the Chicago Bears getting owned by any team that it seems like Aaron Rodgers plays
27:13against.
27:14Here's what I'm talking about, the Bears.
27:15What are you for the opponent this week?
27:20There's incentive for every opponent, but I have enjoyed many a Sunday and Monday and
27:24many Thursdays in that city.
27:29It's a great sports town, phenomenal sports fans, and a great place to play.
27:35Aaron, do you sort of frap off of being the villain there a little bit?
27:39Sort of enjoy that?
27:40I'd rather not be.
27:41I mean, I'm not in Green Bay anymore.
27:43I feel like we can let bygones be bygones.
27:47Maybe.
27:48I can, I guess.
27:49It's been, it's a great rivalry.
27:52I mean, in the history of all sports, you talk about the Lakers and the Celtics and the
27:57Red Sox and the Yankees.
27:59You got to talk about the Packers and the Bears.
28:01And there's been some great memories there.
28:04When I first got to Green Bay, the Bears had the all-time series lead.
28:07When I left, the Packers did.
28:10Since J-Love has taken over, it's even gotten better.
28:13But I hope, I hope those fans can put that, put that behind them.
28:18I'm sure they can't.
28:19Don't expect them to.
28:20But I really enjoy the city.
28:22They got a great sports fan.
28:23I grew up watching WGN on my five, five channel TV back in the day.
28:29So I was a Cubs fan and a Bulls fan.
28:31How can I be a Bulls fan unless you don't like Michael Jordan?
28:33I did.
28:33I loved him.
28:35So it was a lot of fun memories over the years playing there.
28:39There you go.
28:40Aaron Rodgers, you know, talking about the past there.
28:42Always hammering the Chicago Bears.
28:44But the question is, will he be hammering them this weekend, Joe?
28:47A broken wrist at a quarterback.
28:48You might have a broken wrist, let's just say, for a defensive line.
28:50Maybe put the club on your hand.
28:51They say, okay, I'll deal with it.
28:52You can't do that as a quarterback.
28:54You're going to be falling down left and right, taking hits.
28:56I can't see him playing this week.
28:57I just can't.
28:59It's so funny watching that interview.
29:01I mean, Aaron Rodgers in a Pittsburgh uniform, in a Pittsburgh locker room,
29:06going on five minutes about the great history and rivalry between the Bears
29:11and the Packers and how the Packers have dominated him since him,
29:15and now it's Jay Love, have been quarterback.
29:18Very interesting there.
29:20I guess that's what happens when you're 41 years old here.
29:23You start to reflect if you're still playing in the NFL instead of the task at hand,
29:28which is the Pittsburgh Steelers better beat the Bears here.
29:32Otherwise, you're going to swing that door wide open for the Baltimore Ravens
29:37to take over first place here.
29:39So this is a big game.
29:41Listen, I think if he can go and he's not,
29:43and everything that we're hearing is that it was very painful on Sunday,
29:48wasn't painful yesterday.
29:50If he practices today, he's likely going in the game.
29:55So we'll see how it goes.
29:56Does he practice today?
29:57Well, tell us.
29:58I don't know if he's going to practice.
30:00I think they were shooting for like Friday to see if that was what it's going to be.
30:03We'll find out though sooner than later, but also, Joe, Joe Burrow making practice appearances yesterday
30:09and also steam now hitting the line for the Patriots and the Bengals.
30:13He was tied some outlets, Joe, at eight and a half.
30:16Now we're seeing even FanDuel dropping to six and a half and a total of 15 and a half.
30:20People might be buying into Flacco not being the start of this week because Burrow wants to come back.
30:26I don't get it, Donnie.
30:28I don't know what that has to do with it.
30:30It wasn't like Flacco had a hard time putting up points.
30:34Like, okay, all right, time to bet the Patriots.
30:38Look at all the fun you can have in two hours here.
30:40We do it each and every morning, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
30:437 a.m. to 9 a.m. right here on the Sports Grid Network.
30:46It's Donnie Wrightside and it's Joe Renier.
30:48We talk the whole show.
30:49We give our inputs here.
30:50We have guests.
30:51We have a lot of fun.
30:51But sometimes we need to know where the public is actually coming from on a certain question we ask.
30:56Use our favorite public poll.
31:00Grip it and rip it, baby.
31:07Where do you find us at?
31:08Well, just go over to X.
31:09Go to at Sports Grid here.
31:10Hit the follow button.
31:11You'll find these questions each and every morning in the question today.
31:15Simple.
31:15What is your best bet tonight in Bills versus Texans on Thursday night football?
31:19Four options.
31:20The over, the under.
31:21The Bills and or the Texans on the spread line.
31:24If we look at the favorite right now, most people going with the Buffalo Bills at minus five and a half here at a number of 39.8% live down a little bit from that graphic right there.
31:34If we look at the total, most people actually backing the under at 43 and a half, Joe.
31:39Sounds like a lot of smart people voting today, getting after it for Thursday night football.
31:43Where did you go on this card tonight?
31:44Yeah, I think the Bills win this game.
31:49I think, you know, the Bills year after year, very consistent where they start great, Donnie.
31:54Then they go through this period where there's a stretch of, you know, two to four weeks where we're scratching our head going, oh, boy, they're in trouble.
32:03And then right around this time, Donnie, through the rest of the year, it's like they kick it into another gear.
32:09So I think they win this game.
32:11I think they also likely cover it just simply.
32:14I do not trust this Houston offense to score enough to beat.
32:20If it's a one score game, I'd much rather have a ticket on Josh Allen to win this game than I would Davis Mills.
32:26Yeah, by the way, good information by Cam coming back to talking about that Shavers move because somebody does have to catch passes here,
32:32even though it's a very good defense here for the Houston Texans because they say, oh, look,
32:37the odds say over 200 passing yards at least here for the quarterback, Josh Allen.
32:41Somebody's got to catch it.
32:42Maybe some unheralded guys at the wide receiver position that you're not expecting here.
32:46But now it's time to say, you know what, public, sometimes we like to do our jobs here.
32:50And last night we did our job with respect, a 2-0 on our bye-bye-bye best bets.
32:55Let's bring it on again tonight.
33:03Oh, we were beating up on the public last night with CLV.
33:06It was so much fun to watch.
33:08You got a lot of action tonight.
33:10College football.
33:11You got, obviously, NBA action.
33:13You got NHL action.
33:14The NFL's in business tonight, Joe.
33:16The world is your oyster, as I like to say.
33:18Where is it?
33:19Where are we going?
33:21Well, I mean, Donnie, I'll go to this Thursday night game here with the Bills and the Texans.
33:27And I am going to look at the under here, 43 and a half.
33:33And it's very strange to me that we nearly doubled the spread with the Bills at the look
33:40ahead line, minus two and a half, minus three.
33:42And that was thinking C.J. Stroud was in.
33:45Now, all of a sudden, C.J. Stroud is out.
33:47So we move up to six.
33:49But the total stays exactly the same at 43 and a half.
33:54Short week here.
33:55The defense of the Texans has been lights out.
33:59Top three, top five team here.
34:02They're not going to be able to run the ball as well as they have the Buffalo Bills.
34:06They didn't run it great against Tampa at home.
34:09But I can't trust Davis Mills in this offense of the Texans, who barely scored, what, 16
34:16points against the Tennessee Titans last week.
34:20So I'm sorry.
34:21I think this is going to be a rock fight.
34:23It's got 20 to 10 written all over it.
34:2621 to 13, that type of situation, Donnie.
34:29I think we stay under the key number of 43 here in this one.
