00:00Sunday action in the NFL.
00:02It is week number nine.
00:03The Chicago Bears on the road to take on Cincinnati and Joe Flacco.
00:07Where did we see Cincinnati last week?
00:08Well, they got beat by the New York Jets.
00:10That's embarrassing.
00:11And Joe Flacco having some issues with his shoulder,
00:13but tracking towards playing this weekend.
00:16The favorite, the Bears.
00:17The total, 50.5 to 51.5.
00:19What's the spread line for this game for you, Joe?
00:22Well, that's good news for the Bengals with Flacco going
00:26because ever since, you know, he's gotten there,
00:28they've been averaging about 35 points per game here, Donnie.
00:32They are, they have figured it out to say the least here.
00:36Now, the problem is, and he's getting the ball out really, really well.
00:40The problem is, is both of these defenses.
00:42Hendrickson, not going to be in this game likely.
00:46The secondary is still decimated for the Chicago Bears.
00:50And if Flacco can go in there and just maintain the status quo,
00:53get it to the playmakers,
00:55we're going to get a ton of points in this game, Donnie,
00:57which is why you've seen this total go from 47.5 now to 51, 51.5 in the marketplace.
01:05And if we're being honest, Donnie, it ain't high enough as far as I'm concerned here.
01:10Neither of these defenses can be trusted.
01:13This could be the highest scoring game of the afternoon between Chicago and Cincinnati.
01:18Absolutely. How about this game here?
01:21The New York Giants damaged and injured, but still have NFL rookie of the month,
01:25Jackson Dart here under center, a two and a half point favorite for the San Francisco 49ers
01:30on the road to take on the Giants in a total of 48 and a half.
01:33We're expecting points in this game.
01:35Mac Jones got a clear practice yesterday, probably trending more on starting over Brock Purdy.
01:39We'll see who gets to the gate.
01:40But what is your spread line for this game between the 49ers and the Giants, Joe?
01:44You nailed it there, Donnie.
01:45Two and a half has been locked in one way or the other.
01:48You're not going to get it to three.
01:50It's not going to go to three.
01:51There's not going to be any crazy 49er money in.
01:54If anything, it might go the other way.
01:56But what better is both the pros and the Joes have focused on in this game, Donnie,
02:00is that total.
02:02That total opened up at 45 and a half.
02:05And it has been bet up, like you said, to 48 and a half.
02:08And it would not shock me if it continues to rise here.
02:13So there is this prevailing thought with both the public and the pros that we're getting
02:18points in this game.
02:20And we might likely do that given the decimated secondary defensive line and all the issues
02:26the 49ers have with injuries on the defense right now.
02:29On Sunday, 425 p.m., Kansas City and Buffalo.
02:32Feels like they play every single year.
02:34Feels like Buffalo's like, yeah, we'll get you in the regular season, but we're not going
02:37to beat you in the postseason.
02:38This line's sitting at a one and a half point favorite for Kansas City and a total of 52
02:42and a half.
02:43Two really good teams in the AFC, Tom.
02:45How are you playing this one?
02:47Well, overall, this is obviously a huge game.
02:49And I think this is, again, a bit of a measuring stick game for Kansas City.
02:53They looked fantastic.
02:54They beat the Raiders.
02:55They smoked them.
02:56They beat the Commanders without Daniels.
02:58It's like, eh, like those aren't the most impressive wins.
03:00Like, has their season actually turned around and now playing a quality team?
03:03This is not to say that Buffalo's been cruising.
03:05They came in with a big win last week, but prior to that, they were struggling.
03:08So, you know, looking at plenty of points being scored in this game, obviously don't
03:12mind taking the points with the Bills as a home underdog.
03:15But let's turn to James Cook under 76 and a half rushing yards.
03:19Historically, he's had a ton of struggles versus Kansas City.
03:22Nine carries for 20 yards, 13 for 85.
03:26This would put him over 76 and a half.
03:2818 of 61, 10 of 50, and 2 of 8.
03:30The 2 of 8 was in his rookie year.
03:32We have to take that with a bit of a grain of salt.
03:33But the Chiefs right now, they are 8th in defensive rush success rate.
03:37And Cook, although I think he's fantastic, I'm not sure he'll have enough carries and or
03:41enough explosive runs to truly get him there.
03:44I think there will be balance in the offense.
03:45But at the end of the day, Allen's still going to be the main guy with the ball.
03:48And if it turns into a shootout, there just won't be enough rush attempts for him.
03:53Well, who's running the ball in this game, then, Tom, is my question.
03:58Because Pacheco's not going, which means Kareem Hunt has got to go.
04:02But you're not running.
04:03I don't think either of these teams.
04:04We know Buffalo is going to want to run.
04:07And they are going to force them to get to be stopped here.
04:11Kansas City, what is it going to be here?
04:12Is it just Mahomes passing attempts because they're not going to be able to run?
04:17Yeah, that's a good question.
04:18Brashad Smith, one of their younger running backs, their third string running back, has
04:22been talked up a good amount.
04:24Mahomes likes him.
04:25He played receiver in college.
04:26So he does have some pass catching ability.
04:29So I would really look at this game as like Andy Reid's going to pull out a bag of tricks
04:33of like, we're going to do like the pop passes.
04:35We're going to do quick screens.
04:36We're going to do bubble screens, whatever it is, in order to emulate a running game.
04:41But it's not going to be traditional runs until they get inside the 20, inside the 10.
04:44And that's where Kareem Hunt comes in and just grabs you some easy yards and or a touchdown.
04:47Tom, Atlanta got smoked last week by the Miami Dolphins, who got torched last night on Thursday
04:54night.
04:55Football in an embarrassing performance.
04:56They're going to run.
04:57We're not too sure exactly who the sorting quarterback is going to be.
04:59We'll probably find out a little bit later today.
05:01But Drake May is going to start for New England.
05:03New England is a favorite.
05:04This look ahead line was around three.
05:05We're now up to five and a half to just about every outlet in the total of 44 and a half.
05:10What's the way you're going to play Atlanta taking on New England?
05:12Atlanta coming off a horrible game.
05:16You know, Kirk Cousins in there.
05:17Their offense was terrible.
05:18They had a fantastic matchup.
05:20They didn't get Bige on the ball.
05:21Really a fail top to bottom for them.
05:23Now they're going up against a team with the Pats who are allowing the second fewest rush
05:27yards per game.
05:27They're absolutely fantastic.
05:29We're assuming that Pennix is going to be in there.
05:31That's what we should be planning on.
05:33Getting Bige on the ball is basically the easiest route for them to succeeding.
05:37And when we look at the Pats' defense, if you can't rush the ball on them, how can we
05:41get Bige on the ball?
05:42When you look at the Pats, they've allowed the six most receiving yards to opposing running
05:45backs.
05:45That's sitting up at 317.
05:47Getting the ball to Bige on Robinson makes a lot of sense.
05:50It also makes sense in terms of this game script.
05:52If they are playing from behind, that's why we also see the Pats allowing so many receiving
05:56yards to running backs because they're out in front so many times.
05:59Get the ball to Bige on.
06:00Try and keep the game close.
06:01You're going up against a very good team in New England.
06:04I'm not sure if a quarterback who's had his struggles this year in Pennix coming off
06:08a game that he missed is now going to go on the road and come away with the win as an
06:12underdog.
06:12I think you can operate the offense effectively and halfway decent to try and take some type
06:17of silver lining from this game.
06:19But I think Bige on has to have the ball a minimum of 18 times for the Falcons to even
06:24have a shot in this game.
06:25So the Pats are defensively terrible versus running backs for receiving game.
06:29Just give the ball to Bige on there over 35 and a half receiving yards.
06:34Back-to-back weeks of 10 points by this Atlanta offense.
06:39And now for a team that relies so heavily on running the ball, they're going to go up
06:44against one of the best rush defenses in football.
06:48This to me screams under.
06:50What am I missing here?
06:51Like, where are the points coming from?
06:53Drake May aside, he's been great, but they're going to be waiting for him here, this Atlanta
06:58defense, after being embarrassed.
07:00So how are we getting points in this game?
07:02Who's getting them?
07:02I'm not expecting a whole lot of points, and it's going to get to a certain juncture
07:08in the game where if the Pats just have them at arm's reach, they're just going to run
07:12the ball.
07:13And I know there's a whole conversation between Ramondra Stevenson and Trevion Henderson.
07:16No one's being effective in the backfield.
07:18But if you were just up 17-3, you're up 20-10, the Pats won't have to pass the ball.
07:24They don't even have to be effective at running the ball.
07:26They could just keep them at a two-score lead, and they'll just win the game.
07:28Let's get ready for week nine of NFL action this weekend with some news and notes from
07:33a game between the Chicago Bears and the Cincinnati Bengals.
07:36The Bengals in this game are home, but they're not favored.
07:38It's the Chicago Bears, and quite frankly, the Bears didn't look that good last week.
07:41But I guess it's better than what we saw to the Cincinnati Bengals with multiple two touchdown
07:45leads over the Jets, only to lose to the New York Jets and give them their first win of
07:49the season, brutal stuff.
07:50But also, the one thing we do know, that Cincinnati offensive line doesn't protect anybody.
07:56Joe Burrow, beat, battered.
07:57He's done for the year.
07:58Now Joe Flacco, he's old.
08:00He don't want to get hit.
08:01He's got an AC joint sprain in his shoulder.
08:03That's never a good sign, but he's trending to play versus the Bears.
08:07Good luck with that, I guess.
08:09Yeah, but again, it's, but Flacco gets it because Flacco is also getting the ball out faster
08:15than anybody in the NFL since he got under center for the Bengals, which is why, shocker,
08:21you know, Jamar Chase and Higgins and company, oh yeah, now they can run the ball because
08:26teams have to worry about Chase and Higgins.
08:29Somebody can actually get the ball to them.
08:31And the problem is, this Bears defense, Donnie, last week, all three starting cornerbacks didn't
08:38suit up there, and we saw what Tyler Huntley did to them.
08:41Two of the three are not playing again this week, and the third, Tyreek Stevenson, still
08:48iffy.
08:49So that means you're going to have the same backups in that secondary, only this time Flacco's
08:54getting the ball to better receivers.
08:56So this could be an absolutely wild one with another first one, the 40, is going to win
09:02the game.
09:03I'll tell you what, Jamar Chase, too.
09:05Like wide receivers are like interesting individuals where it's like, okay, we're losing, but I'm
09:08getting 20 targets a game, that sounds fine to me, which I always laugh, like AJ Brown
09:12sitting here in Philadelphia, gets a ton of targets, they win football games, but then
09:16sees guys like Jamar Chase, wait a second, this guy's getting 20 targets, I don't care
09:19if he's losing or not, I want that.
09:21Man, wideouts never stop, but again, if you are Joe Flacco, you don't have so many more
09:25bullets in that arm.
09:26This is one of those games where you probably say, you know what, I could throw a couple
09:28tutties against that secondary.
09:29Coach, put me in, I am ready to play.
09:33You know who else is saying that this weekend?
09:35Tyler Shuck here of the New Orleans Saints, or is he going on the road to take on the Rams
09:39as a two-touchdown underdog?
09:41Matthew Stafford and the home team rested and ready, which means Puka Nakua back for
09:46some action.
09:46That's not what you want to see as a Saints defense here.
09:4943.5 is a total with a line of 14 to 14.5.
09:53That's crazy.
09:54But you know what?
09:55Rams probably going to pound on this young rookie.
09:57Yeah, it's interesting too, because the betting markets, Donnie, it was a slight move, right?
10:03When they announced that Shuck was going to go there, 13.5 to 14.
10:07Now it's 14.5 in some spots here.
10:11I mean, listen, Spencer Rattler was a turnover machine.
10:13So we already know that here.
10:16But the Rams on the other side, they're coming off a bye.
10:20They're getting also their starting right tackle, Rob Havenstein, back for this game.
10:25In addition to Puka Nakua here.
10:27So to me, I think New Orleans from this point out is probably an under team.
10:33Maybe look, team totals under with New Orleans.
10:35But I still think this total is a little too low here because I think the Rams, I think
10:39they can put up 40 points themselves in this spot here.
10:42No problem.
10:44Yeah, exactly.
10:44Matthew Stafford probably have a big day.
10:46And by the way, coming off of a performance where he threw five touchdown passes.
10:49Not to say he's going to do it again, but the Rams probably win this one going away.
10:52Rookie quarterback on the road in his first career start usually doesn't work out in your
10:57favor, but we'll see if he can stay within those two touchdowns and possibly cover the
11:00spread.
11:01Denver and Houston.
11:02Bo Nix versus CJ Straub.
11:03Some help is on the way for the Houston Texans here.
11:06Nico Collins clears concussion protocol, says he feels great.
11:09He's ready to get back.
11:10And also, Christian Kirk might make an appearance.
11:12Now also, Dalton Schultz has been banged up.
11:14Shoulder and knee injuries.
11:15Not sure if he's going to go.
11:17But you have your two top pass catchers back in the fold.
11:19That's going to help.
11:20And also keep in mind, Denver's got a great defense, but down one of the best cornerbacks
11:23and Houston now sits as a minus one and a half point favorite for this game Sunday, Joe.
11:28And I told you, I am not convinced that CJ Straub and the Houston Texans offense is somehow
11:34fixed because they beat a decimated defense in the San Francisco 49ers.
11:40I don't think that was a good test there at all.
11:42And don't forget, the only times they've looked good is against defenses that are decimated with
11:47injuries.
11:47Don't forget, the Ravens had missed five starters, the Titans, then you got the 49ers.
11:53So that's the only time that offense has looked absolutely, you know, has looked anywhere decent.
11:59I don't know that that happens here, but I'll tell you this.
12:02I do think the total is a little too low here, Donnie.
12:05I think we might get a few more points in this one than people think.
12:10I'd be willing to take a shot at the over here.
12:12Sling it, Bo Nix.
12:13And again, this game is going to come down to one of the best pass rushers in the NFL,
12:16pass rushes, I should say, in the NFL.
12:18Maybe NFL history, but it's all said and done.
12:20Can they protect CJ Straub?
12:22Also, can you protect your quarterback on Monday Night Football?
12:24The Cardinals looking to get Kyler Murray back here.
12:27But how about this Polymarket tweet?
12:28It says, unfortunate news out of Arizona.
12:31The offense looking good for Arizona.
12:32And now Kyler Murray comes back in.
12:34Tough scene, man.
12:35Tough scene.
12:36Yeah, it's just, that's rough.
12:38That is really rough.
12:39And you know what, I mean, not for nothing, Brissette looked pretty decent.
12:44Did he not here in a couple of starts?
12:46We saw a beatdown last night on Thursday Night Football.
12:49It was the Baltimore Ravens beating down the Miami Dolphins
12:51and basically ending their season.
12:53They'll be up at the trade deadline next week.
12:54Changes will be made and maybe a new head coach in town.
12:56The Baltimore Ravens looking to possibly win their division now.
12:59How crazy does that sound?
13:00But how about this?
13:01Minnesota, I don't think they're winning their division anytime soon
13:04because I think they get crushed on Sunday at 1 o'clock against the Detroit Lions.
13:08The Lions getting healthy at the right time.
13:10Minnesota, hey, McCarthy, get out there.
13:13I hope your ankle's ready because you're facing one of the best teams in the NFL.
13:16A total, Joe, of 48 and a half.
13:18I do think Detroit wins this game by double digits.
13:21I'll lay the eight and a half with the Lions.
13:23What do you think?
13:25Yeah, it's not a great spot for J.J. McCarthy to get back into the fold here, Donnie.
13:31I do like the fact that, you know, you got to be excited if you're Minnesota.
13:34Minnesota, okay, he's healthy.
13:36Now let's, you know, let's get what is supposed to be our future quarterback on the field and
13:41get it going.
13:42But I'm not against this defense.
13:44I don't think this is a great spot on the road here.
13:48Yeah.
13:49Now, again, Detroit's defense, to be fair, could be still without a whole lot of guys here,
13:54especially in that secondary.
13:55But is Minnesota really going to be able to take advantage of it?
14:00I don't think so here.
14:02I think a team total is in store in this game here, one way or the other.
14:07Tough spot to put him back into on the road in Detroit.
14:10That place is going to be loud.
14:11He might be just a little bit rusty.
14:13We'll find out sooner than later.
14:14That game kicks off at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
14:17Another game on 1 p.m. on Sunday, Joe.
14:19San Francisco and New York.
14:20We don't know the quarterback officially is going to be for the 49ers,
14:23but we do know for the New York Giants, it's Jackson Dart.
14:26Robert Salah is the defensive coordinator for the 49ers.
14:29Here's him talking about Jackson Dart.
14:32He is uber talented.
14:35I understand why Dayball went to the blue tent.
14:38I probably would have went too.
14:40I mean, kid's good, man.
14:42He's a really, really, really good kid.
14:43I think New York hit on this one big time.
14:47But he's dynamic.
14:49He's decisive.
14:50He's accurate.
14:50He's been a joy to watch over these, just studying his tape over the last,
14:57he's been, what, five starts now?
14:59So, and they're doing a really good job with him.
15:02You know, they're asking him, there's certain things they're asking of him,
15:05but they're doing a good job hiding it within their weekly game plans.
15:08And, you know, I've always thought Dayball's done a really good job,
15:12him and Kafka, and they put a lot of strain on defenses.
15:16And this kid is, he's going to be special.
15:19He's a, he is, he is uber talented.
15:24I, I, I understand why Dayball went to the blue tent.
15:27I probably would have went too.
15:28I mean, kid's good, man.
15:30He's a really, really, really good kid.
15:32I think New York hit on this one big time.
15:36But he's, he's dynamic.
15:38He's decisive.
15:38He's accurate.
15:41He's, he's been a joy to watch over these.
15:44Had way too much candy.
15:46Because for a minute there I felt like I was just.
15:47You know what's funny?
15:49Like I saw, I saw the length, 141.
15:51This is interesting, Lex.
15:52He must have a lot to say about this kid.
15:54Well, apparently he liked it so much he wanted to say it twice at this point, Joe.
15:57But San Francisco is a slight favorite over New York.
15:59And by the way, talking about a ticket I have, Joe,
16:01over three and a half wins for the Giants on the season.
16:03They got two.
16:04This week, home game, under three-point spread.
16:07Next week, look ahead line against Chicago.
16:08In Chicago, three-point spread.
16:10I need one of these victories for the Giants.
16:12But they just, you can't just, you're not a good football team.
16:15And you keep losing impactful players.
16:17That doesn't usually work out well, Joe.
16:20No, it doesn't.
16:21I mean, and you lost your two best players in the skill positions, right?
16:24So Malik Namor's gone.
16:25Cam Scadam are gone.
16:27And now where are you going to go with the ball, right?
16:30I mean, they're averaging 29 runs per game, which is fourth in a league.
16:34And they can't score in a red zone, Donnie.
16:37I think they're 48% in a red zone, 25th in the NFL.
16:41I mean, it can't be, you're going to get this kid killed.
16:44Let's not, let's be realistic here.
16:47And as banged up as the 49ers are, it comes down to coaching.
16:50And that guy that we just heard talk twice about, Jackson Dart.
16:54Yeah, he's saying those things, but the reality is he will game plan for a rookie quarterback
17:00and give him opportunities to be confused.
17:03So I just can't back the Giants.
17:06The defense of the Giants has been better at home than on the road,
17:09but it just feels like 49ers are at a different level right now
17:14than where this Giants organization is.
17:16Joe, let's skip down and get to the biggest game of the weekend,
17:19which will be Kansas City and Buffalo.
17:20It's Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
17:22These two are no strangers against playing each other.
17:25And Patrick Mahomes goes, hey, you know what?
17:26I like playing in Buffalo.
17:28Do you enjoy playing in Buffalo?
17:30And what's that environment like compared to, you know,
17:33other road games that you see consistently on the schedules?
17:36I mean, they don't like us.
17:37I mean, that's pretty, they do not like the Chiefs.
17:41But, I mean, it is a cool environment.
17:43I love playing in, like, historic stadiums.
17:45And that stadium has had so many great players play in it.
17:48And who knows, it might be the last time that we get the opportunity to play there.
17:51And it will be a great challenge for us.
17:56And they're loud.
17:57And that's what you want.
17:57You want to go in and be in a hostile environment.
18:00That's what football, when you watch on TV as a kid growing up,
18:03is the environment you want to play in.
18:05And so, obviously, they're not rooting for us.
18:07But you get to bond together as a team and get to go into a historic stadium
18:11and play in a great environment.
18:11By the way, and Buffalo Bills, enjoy this.
18:15You are never going to get this atmosphere again.
18:18You have a couple more games left in your home stadium.
18:20It goes completely corporate next year.
18:22And the wind is blocked.
18:23And it's really nice.
18:25And the higher-ups get paid a lot of money to sit up in the seats
18:28and take the fans, you know, full support here.
18:30Because I remember, and putting it back, Joe, just with, like, you know,
18:33veteran stadium, which was an absolute dump.
18:35But it was our dump.
18:36It was concrete hell.
18:37It was like watching Gladiator.
18:39And the fans participated.
18:40I love Lincoln Financial Field.
18:41It's a beautiful stadium.
18:42But you just lose that lure of, man, you're headed down with your boys
18:46in this grungy stadium.
18:47And we're going to get loud and rowdy and sit right on top of these players here.
18:52Yeah, it is.
18:53And, you know, if nothing else, these two teams have been very consistent,
18:57Donnie, against one another.
18:59Yeah.
18:59The Bills have beaten the Chiefs in the last four regular season meetings.
19:04And Kansas City has beaten Buffalo in the last four playoff meeting games.
19:09So, there is a trend here where the Bills do really good in the regular season.
19:14Kansas City beats them in the playoffs.
19:17Neither team, by the way, since 2021, has ever been favored by more than a field goal.
19:23But this feels like an awful lot of points in this game.
19:26I'm not sure Buffalo is interested in a shootout in any way, shape, or form here.
19:31I think this number might be a little bit too high there with total points.
19:36Yeah, we just look at the two teams, right?
19:37I'm like, oh, they should absolutely dominate.
19:38Like, Kansas City's defense is really in gear right now.
19:41This is a playoff game.
19:42It's not like, let's just launch the ball downfield left and right.
19:45So, I'm with you on that.
19:47But I'm going to see who's going to be that more elite quarterback in this spot here.
19:49Because Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City, a much different football team than we saw
19:53at the start of the season.
19:54And if you're the Buffalo Bills, ah, why can't we play them back in week number three?
19:58They're full gas right now.
19:59Probably minus Pacheco.
20:00That should be an awesome game to watch on Sunday afternoon.
