00:00You're back to the NFL 405 out on the West Coast.
00:03It's Indiana, it's the Colts, excuse me, taking on the Chargers.
00:06Jones versus Herbert.
00:08Slight favorite opened up for the Colts at one and a half.
00:10Now we see that favorite here for Herbert and also the Chargers.
00:14Understand this, Joe Alt practiced yesterday, good sign,
00:16and Quinton Johnson practiced as well.
00:18This line has a lot of tickets lining up on the Colts,
00:21but do we see some reverse line movement?
00:23What's the spread line, Joe?
00:24Indianapolis versus LA.
00:26That's exactly what you're seeing here.
00:28You're seeing the public look at this Colts team at five and one,
00:32and then they're looking at, you know, a barely 500 Chargers team and going,
00:36wait a minute, why the Chargers?
00:38I didn't think they had home field advantage.
00:40Like, why are they the favorite?
00:42Yes, you're right.
00:43Percentage of tickets, percentage of money all week long has been on the Colts.
00:48And yet this line opened up one, one and a half.
00:50And guess where it is now?
00:52It is two and likely going to two and a half before it is all said and done.
00:58And the big reason is this is the biggest public versus the Joes versus the pros game here.
01:04The pros feel like this entire Colts thing, congratulations,
01:09but it will come crashing down against a good quarterback and a good defense.
01:13They're going to get both of those this weekend.
01:15One more spread line, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings.
01:19Carson Wentz going to get a chance to knock off the guy who knocked him out of town.
01:22It's Jalen Hurts.
01:23The Philadelphia Eagles holding strong here as a favorite in this game and a total 43 and a half.
01:28A lot of question marks for the Eagles.
01:30A lot of question marks for Minnesota.
01:32What is the spread line here, Joe?
01:34Well, and you said it there, Donnie, right?
01:36A lot of question marks here.
01:38Now the public is even beginning to question Philadelphia here and what is going on with this offense.
01:44Now you've got a really good defense in Minnesota.
01:47You've seen a lot of tickets and a lot of money so far.
01:50Doesn't matter who the quarterback is backing Minnesota.
01:53I would wait until kickoff, Donnie, if I'm looking to back Minnesota.
01:58Bet Philadelphia now if you like them.
02:01Energy's high on a football Friday.
02:03Radio on the Sports Grid Network.
02:04It's the early line.
02:05Donnie Wright's hot and also Joe Ranieri.
02:06Now we bring in Tom Vecchio who eats pizza like a sandwich on a Friday.
02:10But he's my guy.
02:11We love him.
02:11We love the energy he brings.
02:13What's good, Tommy?
02:13Boy, what's good?
02:16If last night's Bengals-Steelers game was any indication of what we're going to be seeing this week,
02:22we are in for another crazy week where, you know, dogs are not just covering.
02:27They're probably in a spot to win some of these games.
02:29We have the two Monday night games.
02:31The Sunday schedule is a little bit lighter.
02:32We also have another overseas game.
02:34But let's jump into things.
02:36Let's have some fun, Tom.
02:37And by the way, me and Tom were talking yesterday and saying, you know what?
02:40I'm going to be angry when I don't take over two touchdown passes there from, you know, let's just say Aaron Rodgers.
02:45I'm going to be angry if they throw three total touchdown passes in this game.
02:48And Tom and I talked, Joe, about the running back position by like, he should get 50 yards.
02:53This guy should get 46 yards.
02:55Both running backs went off.
02:57Like, if you were just betting props last night, Tom, you were having a blast.
03:01You were.
03:02And I said to you yesterday, I thought Warren was going to have a huge game.
03:05And the 49 or whatever line for him was way too low.
03:09I thought he was going to have 80-plus combined.
03:11He had more than 100 on the ground, not just 80.
03:13But it was a good game from a prop perspective, way more scoring than I initially anticipated.
03:19Yeah.
03:20It's good stuff.
03:21Yeah.
03:22That was a fun.
03:23That was fun because the minute that game was flying over, you knew.
03:27Yeah.
03:27We got to.
03:28We're going to be cashing a few tickets here on those over props all day long here.
03:32But we got some pretty good games coming up this week still that we have to learn a little
03:38something about a few of these teams.
03:40I don't know about you, Tom, but I'm still on the fence here when it comes to Denver.
03:46I don't know what to make of this team.
03:48How, where are you with the, with the Denver Broncos here?
03:51I mean, I know they're home, but I'm still not convinced.
03:55Are you?
03:56I'll put it like this.
03:57The way the Broncos played against one of the worst defenses in the league last week
04:04against the Jets, to me, is unacceptable.
04:06And if you're supposed to have this franchise quarterback, you not being able to score against
04:10a bad defense is a bad thing.
04:13I know the line seven for the game this week against the Giants.
04:16If you have it seven and a half, I would definitely take the Giants.
04:19There's no doubt about it.
04:20I've never laid the seven with the Broncos.
04:21I'd absolutely take it.
04:22However, the Broncos still are a good team.
04:25They may not be great, but they still are a good team when it's all said and done.
04:29So when we look at this matchup defensively, I think this is a spot that they bounce back.
04:33You know, it's an overseas game.
04:34Maybe you want to put an asterisk on and say, okay, we can kind of forgive some of that.
04:38But this has to be a big game for their offense.
04:41Specifically, let's get to Cortland Sutton for him over his receiving yards, sitting at
04:4456 and a half.
04:45Coming into last night's game or before last night's game, I should say the Giants were dead
04:49last in the league in terms of total receiving yards allowed to opposing wide receivers.
04:53Not just receiving yards allowed, specifically two wide receivers.
04:57Cortland Sutton is their guy that went on, paid him all the money in the offseason.
05:00He leads the team in target share.
05:01He needs to have a bounce back game.
05:03He was, you know, matched up against Sauce Gardner last week.
05:05This is a time for him to bounce back, go clearly over 56 and a half.
05:09Tom, we're looking at Sunday after doing a couple spots here.
05:12Some rain in the forecast and heavy winds and also a team that seems like they're ready
05:16to go in turmoil with their head coach and also their quarterback.
05:19That's the Miami Dolphins.
05:20They're going to take on a pretty stingy defense in Cleveland with bad weather conditions.
05:23That total, Tom, 41 and a half.
05:25They're gone.
05:26I now see 36 and a half at some outlets right now and a slight favorite to Cleveland.
05:30How do we play maybe a player proper to in this game?
05:34We have to be looking to Tua and it has to be about the under on his attempts.
05:39You know, we always throw the yards in there.
05:41You know, his yards are very light.
05:43Both quarterbacks are very light in this matchup.
05:45But I want to go to the attempts under 30 and a half for Tua.
05:48It's got a little bit of juice on it, but I do believe it's the right spot.
05:51We have to be looking at what they're going to be doing.
05:52It's also about what the Browns are going to be doing.
05:53Obviously, running is going to be the name of the game for both of these teams.
05:56But when we look at the Browns specifically, last week, rookie quarterback Dylan Gabriel
06:00threw the ball 51 times.
06:03I doubt that Kevin Stefanski wants to have a rookie quarterback throwing the ball 40,
06:0645, 50 times two weeks in a row, especially given the weather issues.
06:10So neither team is going to be throwing the ball at a super high rate.
06:13When we look to the Dolphins, and this is all to say that I think
06:16Quinshot Junkins is going to have an amazing game.
06:18The Dolphins right now, 31st in the league when it comes to EPA per rush,
06:2127th in defensive rush success rate, 28th when it comes to stuff run percentage,
06:25and 31st in yards after contact per attempt.
06:28They are terrible against the run.
06:30We have seen this over the past few weeks.
06:31Rico Dowell went off against them, you know, putting up over 200 yards combined.
06:35So when Oakland comes down to, Quinshot Junkins is going to be the primary option on the offense.
06:40His rush attempts prop is sitting at 20 and a half.
06:43His rushing yards prop is sitting at 93.
06:45So the Browns are simply going to be running the ball.
06:47The Dolphins will also be running the ball with a chance to an extent,
06:49and the ball is just going to be out up to his hands, given the weather concerns,
06:53and given the fact that this is still a very tough defense.
06:57I got to ask you, both of you guys, but Tom, I got to ask you,
07:00because I had a conversation with a buddy of mine about his survivor entry.
07:04And he said, you know, this is the time of the year where, you know,
07:08you got to, where everyone's going left, you got to go right.
07:11He wants to make the Browns his survivor pick, Tom, this year.
07:15Let's go.
07:16And what are you thinking?
07:18I heard that from someone else.
07:19Someone else asked me that exact same question.
07:21I don't mind it.
07:22The real question is, who else do you have available?
07:25Who else have you used?
07:27Because I can make the argument for Green Bay if you dodge them against the Browns in week three.
07:31I can make the argument for the Lions in a bounce back spot when Tampa has no receivers,
07:36although the Lions have some of their, you know, own defensive issues at a certain point.
07:40I wouldn't play the Pats this week going up against the Titans who just fired their coach.
07:44Could I talk myself into the Bears at home going up against the Saints?
07:48I think I could.
07:49So I don't mind the Browns in a bubble, but it's really who else do you have available?
07:55I'm telling you, that team's the New York Jets you have available.
07:58That's probably not the team you want to take here on a suicide at this point right now.
08:02Understand this, Tom.
08:03Like, we love to look at those high-scoring games, Washington and Dallas, easy to handicap.
08:06But please tell me this, and Joe, again, is a Jets fan.
08:10How do you play the New York Jets from a prop perspective this weekend?
08:14Is it just all running backs who are going to run 60?
08:15Like, they have no pass catchers.
08:17How do you play the Jets prop-wise this week?
08:20It would be Brees Hall combined rushing, receiving.
08:23I will say we have seen the Panthers be – there are some metrics that suggest the Panthers have been sneaky good against the run.
08:31Mason Taylor, their rookie tight end, I forget who he's the third or fourth round pick, he was actually second on the team in target share when Garrett Wilson was there.
08:41So, obviously, removing him is an issue.
08:42But this is a spot that – I honestly don't know who's going to step up, if I could check this quickly.
08:49Brees Hall, Josh Reynolds, Isaiah Davis, Tyler Johnson, Allen was up.
08:54Oh, yeah, he's out as well.
08:55So, like, it might be Mason Taylor.
08:57He had an 18% target share, which was second highest on the team.
09:01Yep.
09:01Back to the business here, by the way.
09:03Justin Fields, just looking at FanDuel.
09:04171.5 and a half is his passing prop in this game.
09:08Should be a lot of fun to try to figure these games out.
09:10But that's what we do, and that's what we need Tom Vecchio for.
09:12Tom, thanks for rising and grinding with us today on a Football Friday on the Sports Grid Network.
09:17We'll talk to you soon.
09:18But from myself and Joe Ranieri, more football talk next to the NFL.
09:22More NFL talk.
09:23It's never a bad thing.
09:24It's a Football Friday.
09:25It's a Sports Grid Network.
09:26It's how we get down to business to set the table not only for the rest of your Sports Grid day today,
09:30but your Sports Grid weekend all the way through, which includes college football today.
09:34On Saturday, myself and Joe Lisi, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., right up until kickoff.
09:38And then on Sunday, an extended version of pro football today, which will be 10 o'clock to 1 o'clock
09:44to carry you through this Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars game.
09:47That will be Joe Lisi and also Kevin Walsh right here on the grid.
09:51So let's focus on this game overseas in London.
09:54The Rams taking on the Jaguars.
09:56Matthew Stafford, he'll be there.
09:57Trevor Lawrence, he'll be there as well.
09:59Puka Nakua, doesn't look like he's going to be there.
10:02One of the best wide receivers in the game, possibly down.
10:04And a favorite for the Rams on the neutral site.
10:07Jacksonville used to playing overseas in London.
10:09Any advantages for the Jags here if we don't see Puka Nakua?
10:13Yeah, I mean, listen, it's not great that they won't have him.
10:17But to me, I think this is all about the Rams and Jared Verse and others on the defensive side,
10:23making life absolutely miserable, you know, for Jacksonville and Goldilocks there.
10:30I think that's going to be where the issues come in for Jacksonville is under pressure.
10:35We know Trevor Lawrence, he's going to struggle here and he's going to struggle because Jacksonville
10:41and he liked to force maybe sometimes the ball downfield a little bit much into zone coverage
10:47is a recipe for disaster, especially when the Rams are coming after him and can get to him, Donnie,
10:53with four guys.
10:54They don't have to bring the house to get to Trevor Lawrence here.
10:57So I think that is the biggest issue for Jacksonville.
11:01And because of that, even if Nakua is not there, it still feels like Matt Stafford
11:06and this Los Angeles team will have the edge on what I thought was an overrated Jacksonville defense
11:11to begin with.
11:12Let me ask you a question here, Joe, too, because you hear a lot of talk out of there
11:15with Liam Cohen saying we have to force feed the football to Travis Hunter.
11:18Now, usually when we hear that, we want to jump right on those props and get after it.
11:21Is that more of a smokescreen or he's basically saying we drafted this guy high.
11:25It's my job to get in the football.
11:26We're going to start to do that this week.
11:28Do the ball.
11:30You've got to get your playmakers the ball, right?
11:33And the kid is absolutely electric.
11:35But the problem is, I don't know if this is the week against this defense that that's going
11:41to work overseas early start time against the Rams defense.
11:45Again, I only need to send four guys and I can get Trevor Lawrence off his spot.
11:50That means he's going to try to force the ball and that bad things will happen there for
11:55Jacksonville in this spot.
11:56Remember Chris Berman used to say, nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
12:01We're not talking about the Buffalo Bills.
12:03We're talking about the Philadelphia Eagles.
12:04They better circle the wagons.
12:05They had a 17 to three lead against Denver at home looking to push another victory across
12:09the board.
12:10Collapse in the fourth quarter.
12:11Then they take on the lowly New York Giants on a Thursday football game and got absolutely
12:16smacked in that one.
12:17Now they had the Minnesota where Carson Wentz is quarterback and you are a favorite.
12:21If the Philadelphia Eagles lose three games in a row, I don't know if that locker room
12:25is going to be able to sustain because right now they're all the vibes are still getting
12:28back together.
12:29And yeah, we lost that game last Thursday and had a couple extra days to think about
12:32a team meetings here.
12:33Everybody's in a good spot.
12:34We're going to use Saquon Barkley more.
12:36They're a favorite, Joe.
12:37Let's call it two and a half and a total of 43 and a half.
12:40This seems like a powder keg situation that could set the Eagles back on the correct path
12:45or could really set them back.
12:48And you want to hear a locker room starting to, let's just say, bitch and moan.
12:51It's going to happen if they lose this game.
12:54Yeah.
12:55I listen, Philadelphia, forget about the final score and they were seven point.
12:59They still outgained the Giants by nearly a one yard per play there.
13:04And they didn't have their top two defensive players.
13:07As you mentioned earlier, and Quinn and Mitchell and Jalen Carter, they also didn't have Landon
13:12Dickerson available for that game.
13:14But guess what?
13:15Mitchell, Carter, and Dickinson have been practicing and all look like they are ready to go for this
13:20game.
13:20And I love the bounce back spot here because teams that are coming off a loss is a road
13:26favorite, especially of nearly of over six points, 124, 77 and five here.
13:33So it has been a very profitable situation, especially an experienced team like Philadelphia
13:38bounce back city against, I don't know who cares who the quarterback is for Minnesota at
13:45this point.
13:45To me, it's all about a get right spot with the right guys healthy for Philadelphia.
13:50I think it's a bargain again, bet Philly now, because once these guys, all of a sudden
13:55it starts to go, yeah, Carter's playing, Dickerson's playing.
13:57I can see this line creeping closer to a field goal.
14:01You're right about one thing too, because early in the week, Joe, I looked at this and
14:04said, Justin Jefferson might be the best wide receiver in football.
14:07And if that Eagles defense is going to run in here with like your top outside cornerback,
14:10Keely Ringo, they're just going to force feed him the football like you saw last night with
14:13Jamar Chase.
14:14But the fact that Quinn, I met you, who seemingly had a hamstring injury bad enough where he
14:17couldn't finish the Giants game.
14:19We're not talking about, oh, let's pull him out at the end of the game where it doesn't
14:21matter.
14:21He was out early in the first half.
14:23If he's healthy enough to play in this game, and we're not saying shut down Justin Jefferson,
14:27but give him his seven catches for 80 yards and one touchdown and deal with the rest
14:31here.
14:32The Eagles should be in some pretty good shape.
14:33I can't wait to watch it as a fan, but also to see where this rest of the season is going
14:37to go.
14:38That's something to keep an eye on.
14:39Keep an eye on hour number two.
14:41It's coming up next and also the early lineup.
14:43Stay tuned.
14:44Back to the NFL and the New England Patriots.
14:47Are there thoughts, Joe Ranieri, that they can actually be the best team in the AFC East?
14:52Maybe they can.
14:53They're going to take on the Tennessee Titans as a favorite on the road at minus seven.
14:56Also, Joe, road game, Buffalo, road game last week, road game this week, and a total
15:0242 and a half.
15:03The expectations of a young football team, not granted, it's all relative, right?
15:06Just have a young quarterback.
15:08Expecting to win football games and competing to win football games are two different things.
15:12The New England Patriots have enough left in the tank to say, yeah, Tennessee's a team
15:16we're supposed to beat.
15:17Yes, we're going to beat them by over a touchdown.
15:21The problem is the NFL isn't college football, Donnie, where you can just lay it on a team
15:27because the coach wants some sort of revenge or something here.
15:31It feels like this line opened up with that already, that whole revenge, Vrabel revenge
15:38game against his old team.
15:40That's already been baked in here.
15:41But the public, and I think the books know this, is that they're going to latch on to
15:45that and that it's going to be nothing but a steady stream of New England money.
15:50Much like we saw against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati last night, the idea that Cincinnati is awful.
15:55You're going to get the same thing here with Tennessee.
15:58This isn't college.
16:00These are professional NFL players.
16:02This is a business.
16:04It's not like Tennessee is worse off because they fired Hallahan.
16:08They're better off because he was one of the absolute worst coaches to ever don the sidelines
16:14in any organization.
16:16So to me, this is strictly blown out of proportion.
16:20I think all the value is on the home dog in Tennessee.
16:22Tennessee, that's the only way I would look at this game.
16:25And Tennessee would never be in an intriguing situation, but they actually are this week.
16:29New coach here, Kenny's sort of light a spark, and New England's playing good football.
16:33Can they hold on to it?
16:34Sometimes we look at the big games of the week like, oh, they're the only fun ones
16:36as we get to this next game.
16:38Only people that like pain and like sorrow in their lives love this stuff, but I do.
16:43It's Carolina on the road to take on the New York Jets.
16:46I have no idea what the Jets game plan is going to be.
16:48I have no idea what Aaron Glenn is going to be.
16:49Like, hey, hey, guy stinks at quarterback, but just because he stinks doesn't mean you
16:52can't play him the next week.
16:53Oh, no, you can bench him readily available and easily.
16:56And maybe Tyron Taylor, who apparently has the locker room on his side to make a difference.
17:00Justin Fields seems like he's playing for his life in the NFL.
17:04But look at this.
17:05Carolina, one-point favorite on the road, taking on Justin Fields and the Jets, a total
17:09of 42 and a half.
17:10I don't even need to ask you, Joe, who's going to win this game.
17:12Just understand, like, what is going to take place on the field from a New York Jets perspective?
17:17That's all I want to know.
17:18And who's going to be on the field for the New York Jets from that perspective?
17:23Because Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds, their two wide receivers there, have not practiced
17:28all week and likely aren't playing, which means the targets will be Aaron Smith, Alan Lazard,
17:34and Tyler Johnson.
17:36Those are the only other wide receivers the Jets actually have on a 53-man roster.
17:42So do you think they're going to try to throw the ball?
17:44No, they're not going to try to throw the ball, Donnie.
17:46They're going to try to screen game or use the running game to the best of their ability.
17:52But the problem is, sneakily, everyone sticks a lot as Panthers.
17:57Defense is terrible.
17:58Well, no, they're actually above average in defending the run.
18:01In fact, they just held Dallas to 31 yards on 19 carries, which was a big reason why they
18:08were able to come back and win that game.
18:10Now you've got a New York offense where if I'm the defense of Carolina, I know you can't
18:15throw the ball.
18:15I know you're not throwing the ball.
18:17What do you think they're going to be able to get on the ground, Donnie?
18:20This is shaping up to be hysterical with the New York Jets.
18:24But I like Bryce Young.
18:25I like their trajectory.
18:27They have not won a home road game yet this year, but I think that changes in this one.
18:32It's funny, too.
18:32If it's like a high school football game, like everybody run it, pass it every once in a
18:35while.
18:35We'll see who wins this game and see where it goes.
18:37But again, I'm fascinated at what the Jets actually bring to the table.
18:41That's how crazy I am.
18:42I want to watch this game to see what the Jets actually have on offense.
18:46You know what?
18:46Offense might be a tough one in this one.
18:48Well, typically Miami can score and they certainly don't have a defense and you can score on them.
18:52Cleveland's got a great defense.
18:53We know what else is also the great equalizer.
18:55How about really rainy conditions and heavy winds?
18:58Maybe the expectations is what's going to take place in Cleveland.
19:00The total is dropping 41 and a half.
19:03No longer out there, Joe.
19:04They're 36 to 37 and a half right now, but still a favorite for Cleveland.
19:09Miami comes in, as I like to call it, the powder keg that could explode at any moment.
19:15How do we play this game between the Dolphins and the Browns?
19:18Well, again, this was to start the week on it.
19:21You and I laughed because we looked at the opening odds and Cleveland and the Jets were both favorite.
19:27Well, the Jets are no longer the favorite, but Cleveland still is.
19:30I think a lot of it is the best unit on the field for both of these teams is going to be the defense for the Cleveland Browns.
19:41And we already know temperatures are dropping.
19:43The weather's getting a little worse.
19:45And we all know that Tua and Miami historically can't win in colder temperatures and the elements.
19:53They're much better in 70, 80 degrees than they are in what they're about to face this weekend here.
19:59We've seen the total drop.
20:01I think this all correlates to, yeah, I think it's priced right.
20:04The Browns are the better team.
20:06The Browns, crazy as that is.
20:08And I can't believe I'm saying this, but Stefanski could very well be the better coach.
20:13And I like the Browns' chances of getting the win at home in front of the fans.
20:18Yeah, it should be one to watch there and interesting, again, for the weather conditions that we have at this point.
20:23And by the way, we're going to talk about a game coming up next, which is in the Windy City, which will be windy this week.
20:27And it also rain in the forecast.
20:29We've seen some crazy weather, you know, instances in Cleveland and Chicago over the years.
20:33Rattler's going to come to town.
20:34That's the New Orleans Saints.
20:35They're a dome team.
20:36They don't want to be outdoors as is.
20:37And now you're going to throw them into the elements.
20:39But the Bears, we're used to seeing them as underdogs each and every week.
20:42Now the expectations are they're expected to win, much like we talk about the New England Patriots heading on the road to take on Tennessee.
20:48This line, Joe, opened up around a touchdown, six and a half.
20:51It's now down to four and a half at a lot of outlets in 46 and a half.
20:54But my question to you is, what's up with the groin injuries here in Chicago?
20:57Like DeAndre Swift has a good football game.
20:59Uh-oh, groin injury banged up.
21:01You know, one of your wide receivers in DJ Moore, we don't even know what the heck was wrong with his groin injury.
21:06And that's not a good thing on a slick surface in Chicago.
21:09Can the New Orleans go on the road, hang around with maybe a chance to pull off the win or the Bears?
21:14Hey, getting it together now under Coach Ben Johnson.
21:17No, this is absolutely not.
21:20To me, this is, yeah, good luck.
21:22I am selling high on the Chicago Bears here.
21:26Whose recent win streak, Donnie, when you dive into the numbers.
21:31Yeah, the only reason they had three consecutive wins.
21:34You know why?
21:34Plus 11 in turnovers, Donnie.
21:38Against the Cowboys, they had four.
21:40Raiders three and Commanders three over the last three weeks.
21:44That is the only reason why they won those games.
21:47So if New Orleans does not turn the ball over, New Orleans is very much live to not only cover this, but win this game outright.
21:56Absolutely not am I laying points with Chicago, who, by the way, people don't realize this.
22:02Chase Young is back for the Saints on the defensive side of the ball.
22:06And he was all over the backfield last week when he came out and played.
22:11Now, all of a sudden, New Orleans is a top five team against the run.
22:15So you're not running the ball, which means Caleb Williams is going to have to beat you with his arm.
22:20Good luck laying five and a half points with Caleb Williams.
22:23Not me.
22:23I'll take the Saints.
22:25A little rain, a little wind here.
22:26We're talking about, hey, can they cover four and a half, five and a half or six and a half?
22:29How about this game at Arrowhead?
22:31We're talking about covering double digits.
22:33Why?
22:33The Kansas City Chiefs are 11 and a half point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders.
22:37Gino Smith, Patrick Mahomes.
22:39It looks like everybody's in town for Kansas City.
22:42And that includes Taylor Swift and also a bunch of wide receivers like Rasheed Rice.
22:4645 and a half is a total.
22:47Is this a walk in the park for Kansas City?
22:49Or do they go back to being like, yeah, Kansas City wins, but, boy, do they hate covering spreads?
22:55Listen, if Kansas City would have been undefeated heading into this game, I'd say, oh, boy, maybe not great.
23:01But they've already lost their full complement of games that they are more than comfortable losing here, Donnie.
23:06And for the first time, they're going to have their full complement of offensive weapons going up against a Vegas team who was one of the worst against the pass in the NFL right now.
23:18This is a nightmare spot for the Raiders, who will likely turn the ball over again.
23:24Yeah, it's all Kansas City for me in this one.
23:26Yeah, take a look at some weather conditions there at Arrowhead.
23:29Last time we saw them on that night game against Detroit, we had like 83-degree temperatures.
23:33We're in the high 50s to low 60s.
23:35Light winds around 10 miles per hour, no precipitation in the forecast, so we should be just fine.
23:40But it will be interesting to see that Kansas City offense full gas.
23:43And also the rumors around the NFL where the Chiefs are snooping around for a legitimate running back.
23:48You get them a good running back here, an Andy Reid offense with a full complement of wide receivers and Patrick Mahomes,
23:53that could be a fun team, certainly, to watch you play out.
23:56More NFL action on the way.
23:58We'll talk a little Colts, Chargers, Giants, Broncos, and Packers, Cardinals coming up next and much more.
24:03The early line.
24:04It's a football Friday.
24:05Life is good.
24:06Stick it here with us.
24:08Ah, who thought we'd be saying this on October the 17th?
24:11The first place, Indianapolis Colts, who would be the number one overall seed in the AFC if the season ended today,
24:17are going to take on the Los Angeles Chargers.
24:18This line opened up as a slight favorite towards the Colts, but now we see a one-and-a-half point favorite here for the Chargers.
24:25A total listed at 48-and-a-half.
24:27The Chargers getting a little bit more healthy this week on their home turf.
24:30A fast slate.
24:31Two teams that like to be in a dome, Joe.
24:33I think we could see some points in this environment, and maybe we get that total close to 50 points.
24:38Yeah, and we've, listen, we've seen this line continuing to move towards the Chargers as the Colts continue to get the tickets and the money, and why is that?
24:50Well, look at the injuries in this spot.
24:52Number one, the Colts' schedule has been as soft as, like, a roll of Charmin here.
24:57Five and one.
24:59Congratulations.
24:59But give me a break here.
25:02I mean, they've had Arizona, they had to go up against Arizona's backup quarterback.
25:06Almost lost.
25:07Vegas, Tennessee, Denver, and Miami.
25:11And the Broncos are the only solid team that they've actually beaten.
25:14But you and I both know they should not have won that game.
25:18Denver should have won that game.
25:19So it is no shock that now they go back on the road out west, and they are the public favorite.
25:26But that's not the case.
25:28The secondary of the Colts is a mass unit, Donnie.
25:32They are absolutely banged up.
25:34I think Xavier and Howard didn't need the backup.
25:36Even he just retired, I think, over the last week, too, as well.
25:40They don't have a lot of depth, and I can tell you that's perfect for Harbaugh and for Herbert to take advantage of, like the Chargers, to get it done at home here.
25:50Yeah, keep an eye on the practice reports on Friday.
25:52Joe and I always like to take a look at those.
25:53Joe Alt practiced yesterday.
25:55If he can play this weekend, that would be a massive boost to that offensive line to sort of get some of those players back to protect Herbert, give him extra time to throw to those wide receivers downfield.
26:03The Giants were really impressive against the Philadelphia Eagles last time we saw them last week on Thursday Night Football.
26:08They're going to head out to elevation in the Denver Broncos team that's favored by seven points in this one.
26:13Are the Giants going to come back to reality with that nasty defense and nasty pass rush for Denver?
26:18Or can the Giants hang around with a legitimate chance to stay within one possession late in that game, Joe?
26:23Yeah, well, they can.
26:25I mean, because we've talked about it, right?
26:27The Broncos have this habit of keeping teams.
26:29They're supposed to be better than, well, keeping them hanging around.
26:33Correct here, Donnie?
26:34We just watched them do it with the Jets.
26:37Now they've got to fly home.
26:38But again, they just played in London last weekend.
26:41And the Giants, well, they're starting to figure some things out here.
26:45And it all starts with their quarterback.
26:48So I think laying seven, not for me, but I would not be mad at you if you're like, you know what?
26:55Give me the Giants.
26:56Give me the touchdown.
26:57I like the chance that they have in this game.
27:00If I'm betting Denver, I'm only doing it early in this game, Donnie.
27:03I'll tell you, the tickets for the people like are the Green Bay Packers to win this game against Arizona.
27:08The question is, can they cover a seven-point line at most outlets in a total that's listed at 44-and-a-half?
27:13Arizona doesn't know their starting quarterback is going to be, but Percet was very good last week.
27:17And outside of a play where the Colts basically tackled McBride in the end zone that didn't get called,
27:21they almost upset the Colts in their own building.
27:24Can we get week number two of Arizona trying to upset another football team here, Joe?
27:28Well, I think heading into this week, the Cardinals and the Bengals were in total freefall, right?
27:34They were both, I think, lost four straights after starting the year 0-2.
27:39Well, the Bengals won.
27:41Does that mean that maybe the Cardinals can?
27:43Listen, I have not been impressed with what I have seen from Green Bay here.
27:48I mean, Cincinnati in the second half pretty much had their way with this vaunted Green Bay defense.
27:54And it still looks like they're trying to figure some things out offensively with Green Bay.
28:00This is a very desperate Arizona team at home.
28:03Kyla Murray, whether he plays, he doesn't play.
28:07Obviously, we saw how it looked with the backup under center there.
28:12This is a dangerous spot for Green Bay.
28:14Another game that I wouldn't run to the window to lay a touchdown with the road dog,
28:18or the road favorite, rather.
28:19Well, yeah, no, it'll be an interesting game to see how that one plays out, no doubt,
28:23and see if Jacoby Brissett, because then it just puts Kyler Murray in a bad light.
28:27Like, we paid this guy all this money.
28:28We have this random backup guy that's doing the same things here.
28:31And also, sometimes you get in that locker room where if you don't like to see what the head coach is saying
28:34against the starting quarterback, the locker room starts to lean with the backup quarterback,
28:38and away you go there.
28:39How about Washington and Dallas?
28:40Maybe you're going to be the most entertaining game of the weekend,
28:42at least the highest number, 54.5 to 55s out there as a total,
28:46and a slight favorite to Washington.
28:48Terry McLaurin looks like he's probably going to miss another game this week.
28:51Deebo Samuel already banged up.
28:52Dak Prescott looking to get back C.D. Lamb for this game.
28:56I do think we get points.
28:57I'm not going to overthink this one, Joe.
28:58We should be getting points.
29:00These two defenses, not very good.
29:02These two offenses can be very good, and it's in a dome.
29:04We're not worried about windy conditions and or rainy conditions at all.
29:10This total is over the top, and I get it.
29:12C.D. Lamb and Terry McLaurin are back here.
29:16I mean, both guys will have their leave, but who cares?
29:20I mean, this is an absurd total here at this particular point.
29:26Listen, I mean, we know Dallas' offense, absolutely top 10 in the NFL right now.
29:31I think we can all agree on that.
29:33But we also know that the way Washington and Dallas are going to want to play defense
29:38is keep everything in front of them, Donnie.
29:40They're going to make you earn it.
29:41They're not going to give up the big plays.
29:42Quick throws, quick throws.
29:44We could rack up a ton of yards in this game, but maybe not as many touchdowns, and that
29:50is what scares me about looking at the over here.
29:53See what takes place in that game.
29:55Atlanta's going to travel out to San Francisco for Sunday Night Football.
29:58B. John Robinson was tremendous.
30:00Last time we saw him in primetime knocking off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
30:04Drake Lundy got all the targets for Michael Penix, who was absolutely dominant.
30:07The favorite, though, however, is San Francisco, with that look-ahead line 4.5, down to 1.5
30:12and 2s in the marketplace, and a total of 46.5.
30:15Not sure quite who's going to be that San Francisco quarterback just yet, but this is a big game.
30:20Atlanta, you want to step up with the big boys, go on the road, out of your dome, 3,000 miles
30:24away, and go beat the 49ers, who quite frankly are injured enough where you should be able
30:28to beat them.
30:30Well, you know, I mean, the good news is Purdy back.
30:33Kittle has been practicing this week.
30:35So maybe some of the reinforcements, but I'm still not sold on Atlanta.
30:40I mean, winning a game at home against a dysfunctional Bills team right now, who's banged up on defense,
30:47congrats, but now you've got to go on the road, and you're expected?
30:51I am not buying Atlanta here at all in this spot.
30:56I think if Purdy and Kittle get back in the lineup here, and they start for the 49ers,
31:01it is advantage 49ers in a big way.
31:04By the way, we do have to wait until Monday night to probably get the marquee games of
31:07the weekend.
31:08It's kind of fun.
31:08Like, we love the NFL so much, but there's really not a game you look at on Sunday afternoon
31:12like, oh my goodness, this is going to be such a fantastic game.
31:16I must have to sit here.
31:17Like, the 4 o'clock games, Washington-Dowes, okay, Green Bay, Arizona, stop it.
31:21Giants-Denver, no shot here at this point.
31:23We love the NFL, and it's a football Friday until we get down.
31:26Now it's time to put some money in your pocket.
31:28Now it's time to put some money in your pocket, because it's a great victory.
