00:00Well, don't be scared off maybe by this price.
00:02We're going to talk about it in the NFL, 425 p.m. on Sunday.
00:05The Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback
00:08going to take on Jordan Love.
00:10Line opened up under two touchdowns at 13 and a half.
00:12We sit over two touchdowns at most outlets at 14 and a half
00:16and a low total of 44 and a half.
00:19Joe Flacco gets the start, but the spread line in this game is what, Joe?
00:24Well, you know, Donnie, after we talked about this yesterday
00:26and he was announced as starter, I had to go back
00:28because I'm thinking, is somebody in Cincinnati
00:31under the impression that the Browns beat the Packers
00:34because of Joe Flacco a couple of weeks ago?
00:38Because I had to go back and look, and Flacco was awful in that game.
00:42He was awful because Green Bay pressured him all day long.
00:46Why? Because his offensive line was awful.
00:49This Cincinnati offensive line is worse than the Browns' offensive line.
00:54To me, this feels like we've got a team that gave up 35 or more points,
00:59that being Green Bay, coming off a bye.
01:02In this spot, Donnie, the under has been the most profitable look there is.
01:0823 and 11 to the under since 2014 here.
01:12And Green Bay, by the way, 15 and 4 under the total
01:15in the last 19 post-bye games overall.
01:19How about that? Monday night football.
01:22We've got a doubleheader in the building here.
01:23It's Buffalo and Atlanta and Chicago and Washington.
01:26We're going to focus on the first game at 7.15 Eastern.
01:28The Buffalo Bills, fresh off a loss on Sunday Night Football
01:31to the New England Patriots, are a road favorite at 4.5 points.
01:36Eight out of every 10 tickets coming in on the Buffalo Bills.
01:39We still sit as a 4.5-point favorite to the Buffalo Bills.
01:43Bills, Falcons in Atlanta.
01:44The spread line for this game, Joe, is what?
01:46Well, you know, I lost.
01:49I had the under in the Chiefs-Jags game, and I lost that.
01:52Well, it's a Monday night football game.
01:54And the Monday night football under trend has been actually pretty good here.
02:01In fact, we're talking about a trend here that's 22-8-2 now
02:05over the last bunch of seasons.
02:08It's very hard for me to look at a low-scoring game here
02:11with Josh Allen and company in this Bills offense.
02:14They struggled last week.
02:15I don't know, Donnie.
02:17To me, it feels like the Bills want you to bet the over,
02:20but I do think the under is the right call here
02:23with these two teams on a Monday night.
02:26Overseas game that starts Sunday.
02:28Doubleheader to end your week on Monday Night Football.
02:31It is a Football Friday on the Sports Grid Network.
02:33We set the table for this entire weekend.
02:36It's what we do on the early line.
02:37Donnie Wright said along with Joe Ranieri.
02:39Now we welcome in Tom Vecchio here
02:41to talk some NFL action for this weekend here,
02:44fresh off a game that disappointed me as a fan.
02:47Scratch my head.
02:48But sometimes, Tom, when you still make money out of those situations,
02:51it sort of makes it feel a little bit better.
02:54It does to some capacity, as I said over the past few weeks.
02:58You know, I was betting on the Blue Jays every game against the Yankees
03:01and all times at plus money.
03:02So coming out three out of four wins, you know,
03:04makes me feel a little bit better,
03:06but a little bit surprised at what happened last night.
03:09I did not expect to, A, that many points.
03:10I also did not expect the Giants to kind of roll on offense.
03:14And I would say the Eagles got to get things figured out quickly.
03:18Yeah, I don't know how quickly they're going to get things figured out,
03:20but they have a little bit of time on this little mini-bot
03:22to sort of make things right, which who knows if they will
03:24and who knows who's actually going to play from all the injuries that we have.
03:27But let's kick it forward here, Tom, to this weekend's action.
03:30Stephon Diggs, with a nice homecoming for the Buffalo Bills game,
03:35coming in as a New England Patriot, he really showed up and showed out.
03:38Coming off an injury in the offseason,
03:40looks like he's getting his legs back here,
03:42going up against New Orleans in the Dome, Tom.
03:44The total of this game, 45.5, a favorite towards New England.
03:47How do you play in this game, prop perspective-wise?
03:50I love Diggs to score a touchdown this weekend.
03:53If you were watching Sunday night's game closely,
03:56there were times late in the third quarter or early fourth,
03:59don't forget one was Diggs got tackled at the 5, 6-yard line,
04:02and he was pounding the turf.
04:04He wanted to score so bad.
04:06But, you know, outside of the narrative from last week,
04:08if you look at Diggs,
04:10he leads the team in nearly every receiving category,
04:14targets, receptions, yards, yards after catch.
04:17He leads them in target share.
04:18He doesn't lead them in red zone target share.
04:20He's at 15%, Hunter Henry's up at 33%.
04:23But when we have a receiver who's doing all of this,
04:26but has yet to score,
04:27getting a plus-170 number on him does not reflect the role
04:31that he currently has, essentially, in the passing offense,
04:33at least with the underlying metric.
04:35So I will buy into Diggs' touchdown this week
04:37against a bad Saints defense.
04:39So you got the Chargers in my neck of the woods this weekend, Tom,
04:46and they have no offensive line.
04:47They have no more running backs.
04:49But they still have a guy named Justin Herbert,
04:52which should count for something, no?
04:54It should.
04:55And, you know, between Hassan Haskins and Kamani Vidal,
04:59the two running backs, you know, at the end of the day,
05:01they are serviceable.
05:02And if you actually look back to last year when J.K. Dobbins was on the Chargers
05:06and they went through a stretch when he got hurt,
05:08Hassan Haskins only averaged 39 yards per game.
05:11It's only four games taken with a grain of salt.
05:12But at the end of the day, Herbert is your best player.
05:15You still have Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkie, and Quinton Johnston.
05:18It's like, okay, hang on.
05:19We shouldn't be pounding our head against a brick wall.
05:21I'm not saying that's what they have with the Dolphins
05:23and their run defense because it's terrible.
05:25But at the end of the day,
05:25the best source of offense from the Chargers is their passing game.
05:30And when you're dealing with a team that has a 24-and-a-half team total this week,
05:33I would look to the passing game.
05:34And again, all their receivers are 55, 54, 51 when it comes to receiving.
05:39I don't know who Herbert is going to be passing the ball to,
05:41but Herbert over 254-and-a-half passing.
05:44He is playing at a near-MVP level,
05:46at least in the first three, four weeks of the season.
05:48Give him the ball.
05:49Distribute the ball.
05:50Get it out quickly.
05:51Don't deal with the run game.
05:52And he picks up yards, and I think they come away with a win.
05:56Yeah, me too.
05:56I think it's a good spot for them
05:58because the Miami Dolphins defense doesn't defend against anything at this point.
06:01And if you're looking for those rushing touchdowns
06:03that might not be able to be there, you get what you get.
06:05But also understand this.
06:06We didn't expect probably Carolina to have that great of a rushing performance last week
06:09with a couple of backups.
06:10Rico Dowda goes for two bills.
06:12It's the NFL, man.
06:13Some crazy things certainly do happen.
06:15But if we do take a look at another running back opportunity here,
06:17the Seattle Seahawks going on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
06:21This game's roughly a pick-em.
06:22Minus one-and-a-half here is a favorite towards Jacksonville at home,
06:25but a nice total, Tom, up from 43-and-a-half to 47-and-a-half.
06:29We're looking at points here, but how are we playing the Seattle backfield in this one?
06:34So I would, first off, I would take the Seahawks on the spread here
06:38and pick-em, link, whatever it might be.
06:39I do think they, you know, getting the points is good.
06:41It's a little bit of overreaction.
06:42I do think the Jags are good this year, but, and especially on defense,
06:46I'll take the Jags, excuse me, I'll take the points with the Seahawks.
06:49It's a little bit of overreaction for the Jags winning against the Chiefs the other night.
06:53The Jags are actually solid against the run game.
06:55If you actually isolate their running yards allowed to running backs,
07:00not just rush yards allowed overall,
07:02they're actually allowing 68 rush yards per game to opposing running backs.
07:05So when we're dealing with the Seahawks' backfield of Charbonnet and Ken Walker,
07:09it is completely split.
07:10When we're looking at Charbonnet, 47, 10, 39, and 36 rushing yards
07:14in the four games he's played this year, he missed one game.
07:16So at the end of the day, if we have a split backfield,
07:18we don't know who's going to be getting the lion's share of the carries,
07:21and it's a tough matchup,
07:22what source of confidence do we have in, you know,
07:25what is essentially the backup in Charbonnet to go over his yardage prop?
07:28So Charbonnet under 36 and a half.
07:30I think he plays a solid role in the passing game,
07:33and coaches love him because he's a really solid pass blocker,
07:36and he can have some success catching the ball.
07:38But Ken Walker is still the starter when it's all said and done,
07:41and this is a tough defensive matchup for them.
07:44Hmm.
07:45All right.
07:46So let me ask you, Tom.
07:48Scoble is on the mound,
07:50and Detroit has lost four of their last five starts.
07:54Do they get one finally for him on the road in Seattle?
07:58I would say yes.
08:00I'll say two things.
08:01One, his strikeout prop being eight and a half in the playoffs,
08:04and last time I saw it was juiced to the over.
08:06It's absolutely crazy.
08:07That is Scherzer-de-Grom-esque from years ago.
08:11And here's what it comes down to, Joe.
08:14If he's at 90 pitches, 85 pitches,
08:17and he's giving up three runs in the sixth inning, who cares?
08:21Don't take the ball out of the future Cy Young winner,
08:25back-to-back Cy Young winner.
08:27Don't take the ball out of his hands.
08:29Three runs, him giving up is nothing.
08:31I would say that the encouraging sign for the Tigers
08:34is that their offense is trending upward.
08:37Like they're coming off a game where they scored the most runs.
08:39It's not like, oh, they scored a ton early in the series.
08:42They actually scored some of the bats are getting going.
08:44So give the ball to Scoogle, 110 pitches.
08:48If he doesn't reach a minimum of 100,
08:50either they're up by 10, they're up 7-0, 10-0 in the seventh,
08:54and they can just pull him.
08:56But if he's under 100 pitches, I'm going to be shocked,
08:58and I think it's a wrong decision.
09:00By the way, Tom said something that's really important here.
09:02Like Scoogle's going to go regardless of what that score is going to be.
09:05Did you know the team total here tonight for Seattle at home
09:08is two and a half runs at that point right now,
09:11which is kind of wild.
09:12The total in some outlets here, five and a half runs.
09:14If you want to be contrarian, that's the way to go.
09:16But I don't think people are looking forward to fading Scoogle,
09:18but as Joe pointed out also, it's not as if he goes,
09:21hey, last 32 innings, has to get up a single run here
09:24going up against an opponent.
09:25That's not the case.
09:26That's going to be a lot of fun.
09:27But Tom Becchio, quickly here.
09:28Joe Flacco this weekend.
09:29Statue or planted statue this weekend?
09:32Statue and attempts is probably the most interesting.
09:38Chase Brown has not been good.
09:39Pick up first downs with T. Higgins and Jamar Chase.
09:42Pick up first downs, move the ball.
09:45There you go.
09:45It's Tom Becchio joining us on a football Friday.
09:47Tom, thanks for the insight here on a couple of those profits.
09:49Let's cash in some tickets and we'll keep this show moving.
09:54Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
09:55We got to get there.
09:56Like we got a Friday to get through.
09:58We got a Saturday of college football to get through.
09:59And then a Sunday that we can watch, which starts early a.m. overseas
10:03in a game between the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets.
10:07The Broncos with a nice victory in Philadelphia,
10:09which may be taking a little bit of the steam off it
10:11since they got rickrolled yesterday by the Giants,
10:14talking about the Philadelphia Eagles.
10:16But nonetheless, it was a victory.
10:17And now you take on the Jets looking for their first win.
10:20On the road, neutral site, seven-point favorite
10:24to seven-and-a-half-point favorite for the Denver Broncos over the Jets.
10:28A total that's low at 43-and-a-half.
10:31Expectations for the Jets are, I guess I hope they show up, Joe.
10:35What gives?
10:37Well, that's about all you can hope for with this team, Donnie.
10:40What else is there at this point?
10:42Because you certainly can't trust a rookie head coach
10:46who just seems like he's completely deflated and lost.
10:50Now, all of a sudden, he's got to go to try to navigate his team overseas
10:55for the first time.
10:57None of this seems like this is going to be good news for the New York Jets.
11:02However, Denver really starting to come into their own here now.
11:07Bo Nix and, of course, Cortland Sutton and company here.
11:12This is not a good matchup for the New York Jets,
11:16who are going to try to run the ball because it's pretty much the only thing
11:19they can do, but what else is there?
11:22You know, once the Broncos take that away,
11:25are we really anticipating Fields outgunning Bo Nix?
11:29I do not here.
11:30I would only be looking towards the Denver Broncos in this spot.
11:35Outgunning, no shot.
11:37Outrunning, absolutely.
11:38Like, I love games where Justin Fields, you know he wants to run the football.
11:41A really good pass rush for the Denver Broncos will force him out of that pocket.
11:46That's the way I look for the Jets because there's only three options, right,
11:49if you say, okay, I want to bet the Jets game.
11:50Just take the spread out of the equation.
11:52Go Fields, go Hall, and go with Wilson.
11:55That's it.
11:56There's nothing else you should be betting on the New York Jets
11:58any single other week.
11:59You take rushing yards for the two, the running back and the quarterback,
12:02and receiving yards for Wilson, and maybe even a touchdown for Garrett Wilson
12:05because there's no other pass catchers out there for the New York Jets.
12:08We'll see how that turns out.
12:09But that's an early game start on Sunday morning,
12:11which brings you right through to pro football today on Sunday.
12:14Make sure you keep it right here with the grid.
12:17One o'clock start.
12:17Maybe the most competitive game of the day we're anticipating.
12:22That's Seattle and Jacksonville.
12:23Two good football teams going to meet up.
12:25Sam Darnold versus Trevor Lawrence.
12:26Look at the spread, Joe.
12:28Opened up at one and a half.
12:29Still sits at one and a half.
12:30And a total up from 43 and a half, as we talked about, to 47 and a half.
12:34I like this game.
12:35You know what?
12:36Flip that coin.
12:37Two good football teams getting after it.
12:39Yeah, and injuries certainly on the Seattle side,
12:43especially in that secondary, are a little bit concerning in this spot here.
12:49But to me, I don't want anything to do with the side
12:52because it's a coin flip for a reason.
12:54But, man, how are we not getting some sort of crazy shootout here
12:59with both defenses having shown, well, they can give up yardage,
13:04which means they can probably give up some points here.
13:06So it feels to me like, yeah, we're going to get an over.
13:10It should be an entertaining game.
13:12But I don't see this being a, you know, 20 to 14 affair here.
13:16I think this is going to be a lot more points than people realize.
13:20Yeah, we just talked to Tom Vecchi about this next game down in Miami
13:23for Sunday at one o'clock start.
13:25That's the Chargers coming to town to take on the Miami Dolphins.
13:28Two really bad losses for both of these teams in different ways last week.
13:31A total that's only listed at 43 and a half to 44 and a half,
13:36depending on where you're shopping at in the side itself,
13:38still sitting there at four and a half as a favor towards the road team Chargers.
13:42If the pass rush for the Miami Dolphins, which quite frankly, Joe, isn't very good,
13:46doesn't get home, those wide receivers should be able to eat
13:48against that terrible Dolphins secondary.
13:51But we saw a game last week where the Chargers got dominated
13:54by the Washington Commanders.
13:55What happens in this game between the Chargers and the Dolphins for you Sunday?
13:57Well, I think the Chargers defense is what gets it done here.
14:03Because, A, I do not see Harbaugh asking this banged up offensive line
14:10of all backups to be, you know, pass block the entire game.
14:14I don't see that happening.
14:15He'll come up with a opportunity because his defense will give him some short fields
14:21and some short opportunities here to be able to work the ball.
14:24It's all Chargers for me.
14:26I do think scoring could happen, though.
14:28So I think this is a little bit of a low total as well.
14:31I'm with you on that.
14:32Rams and Baltimore.
14:34Nobody wants to go anywhere near the Baltimore Ravens
14:37after their performance last week.
14:39Seven and a half point spread.
14:40Rams come in West Coast, East Coast here.
14:43Does Baltimore wake up and say, enough of the nonsense?
14:46Derrick Henry run wild, huh?
14:49It's all, I mean, the value is on Baltimore, period.
14:53There is no, there is nothing good about taking the Rams
14:56and asking them to win by more than a touchdown on the road in this game.
15:00None.
15:00Look at that.
15:01The NFL as we go through to set up the card on Sunday afternoon.
15:04We know we have you covered here.
15:06Hour number two is coming up next.
15:08We're going to get into some action on the early lineup here to get you ready.
15:13To be determined, Joe.
15:14Sometimes we take a look at, oh, that's the pitching staff.
15:17We don't know who's going to pitch tomorrow night in a pivotal game number five
15:19in the National League between the Cubs and also the Milwaukee Brewers.
15:23But we don't know who's going to be the quarterback of who?
15:25The Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon as they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
15:29A good Indianapolis Colts team with a good Daniel Jones this year.
15:33This line, look ahead to it, Joe, was three and a half.
15:36We're now over a touchdown to seven and a half here.
15:40Kyler Murray or no Kyler Murray.
15:42I don't think they're beating the Colts.
15:43But this will be interesting if it's Jacoby Brissett on the road against the Colts.
15:48Man, just wave that white flag right now, Cardinals.
15:51It's kind of hard to like anything that you are seeing from the Cardinals right now.
15:57Turmoil there with the head coach, the team just playing stupid football.
16:03They shoot themselves in the foot.
16:05They lose these games in epic fashion.
16:08And now your quarterback, your starting quarterback is hurt, along with, by the way,
16:13both starting running backs are now shelled with Benson and company.
16:18So we I mean, it's gone from bad to worse here every week with Arizona.
16:22But it is the NFL, right?
16:24And laying more than a touchdown is very difficult to win by margin.
16:29But Indy has shown time and time again that they are they might just be a cut above here.
16:36Danny Dimes is playing at a ridiculous level right now.
16:40Steichen has got this offense humming Lou Anarumo, one of my favorite DCs, loved him in Cincinnati.
16:48Love him on what he's doing here at Indy.
16:50It's kind of hard not to like Indy, even though the hook is out there and you have to have them win by more than a touchdown.
16:58It would be in your pass.
16:59Yeah, no, I'm with you on this because, again, if you if you want to bet a teaser, it looks like a great teaser spot.
17:06Hint, hint on the Colts, which I'm telling you, probably ends up losing.
17:09And oh, my goodness, Jacoby Brissett was fantastic.
17:11But if you are looking at Arizona's like offense, like Kyler Murray is built on speed and running out of the pocket.
17:16You're going to be playing on turf, on the road and already in a game where you're probably not going to hear your signals all that much being in a dome and the other team's crowd is going to be fired up.
17:23Maybe it's best to rest him.
17:25I'm not saying it gives you a better chance to win, but the last thing I want is Kyler Murray at 5-4, unable to run around and deliver passes from the pocket.
17:33Something to keep an eye on.
17:34Understand this, Joe, as we know.
17:35Friday practice reports.
17:36They'll tell you everything you need to know.
17:38He hasn't practiced today.
17:39I don't want to hear a questionable Sunday.
17:41He's not playing on Sunday.
17:43You must practice Friday to play on Sunday here.
17:45Dallas and Carolina next game we'll take a look at.
17:47How about last week, Joe?
17:49Impressive performance for Dallas and also Carolina at home in a comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins.
17:53Your favorite here for the Dallas Cowboys, which was 3-1⁄2, now down to 3, heavy tickets coming in on the Dallas Cowboys,
18:00but a total, Joe, that's increased from 46-1⁄2 up to 49-1⁄2.
18:04And understand this, too.
18:05A nor'easter is supposed to barrel down the East Coast.
18:08Some rain is in the forecast.
18:10We don't know exactly what those conditions will be, but that total is rising, Joe.
18:13Prescott and Young, what do we got?
18:16Well, we told you yesterday in the spread lines, Donnie,
18:19that this was a Dallas team that, boy, oh, boy, it's pros versus Joes here.
18:27The public loves Dallas, but boy, oh, boy, the line keeps moving the other way, right?
18:33So, and again, I mean, Dallas was missing four starters on the offensive line a week ago there.
18:40They had no C.D. Lamb, and yet they went out there against that Jets defense and carved them up here.
18:46And it's not like Carolina's defense is somehow better than what you might have gotten against the Jets there.
18:54So I get why the total is rising.
18:58But if it's one thing that we have seen with this split, the public loving Dallas and the pros loving Carolina,
19:04Carolina, I would only bet on Carolina at home, Donnie.
19:08It's the only spot I would look to them ever.
19:11And right now, you got a home dog.
19:14It's, I would not count out Carolina pulling out the upset here because Dallas, can you really trust them?
19:22Woof.
19:23Rico Dowdle, revenge game, Joe.
19:25Think about that.
19:25Another two bills on the ground for a guy.
19:27Rico, a couple tutties.
19:28It could happen against that Dallas defense here.
19:30Let's set up the next game here.
19:31It's New England and New Orleans.
19:33Is it the sexiest game of the weekend?
19:35No, it's not.
19:35But the new, New England, after a big victory against Buffalo on Sunday night,
19:40there is a chance where that says schedule softens up now and they can maybe make a run at the Buffalo bills.
19:44And it starts this weekend in New Orleans against the saints.
19:47The saints beat the giants.
19:48You might've said, ah, easy to beat the giants.
19:50I don't know.
19:51The giants look like world beaters last night.
19:53Maybe that was a quality victory by New Orleans.
19:55They are the underdog at three and a half in this game, depending where he's shopping at.
19:59Just about everybody has that price point and a total that's listed between 44 and a half to 46 and a half, depending on where you're shopping now.
20:07May and Ratley here.
20:08I like what I see out of New England, but the true test is Joe, a team that hasn't won a lot, particularly over the past two years,
20:14now playing in a spot they're supposed to win after a really big emotional win the previous week and back-to-back road games, nonetheless.
20:22Well, you're right.
20:23I mean, Donnie, it's a, it's a letdown spot written all over it here for the Patriots and teams in spots like this, 24, 80 and one against the number because they beat their division rival on the road a week ago.
20:37So history and the trends tell us not very good for New England, but New Orleans offensively is the second most run heavy team in the NFL, right?
20:49They want to ground and pound you here.
20:51But the problem is you're not running on the Patriots defense.
20:54They are.
20:55And then you're going to ask what Spencer Rattler to win a game for you.
20:59And that's going to play into the hands of Rabel and this defense.
21:03It's, I'm sorry.
21:04I mean, I know the spot is awful, but I still think New England should have been a bigger favorite.
21:09I think we're underestimating what's going on here.
21:12I love Drake May.
21:13I love Josh McDaniel and what he's doing with him.
21:16I think this is New England all the way in this spot.
21:20What gives with this next game, Joe?
21:22It's Cleveland and it's Pittsburgh, a divisional rivalry here.
21:24Dylan Gabriel is going to get a second start here in his young career rookie season for Cleveland.
21:29Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh coming off of the bye.
21:33Five and a half as a point spread here.
21:34Hasn't moved much across.
21:36I do see a six starting to pop through, but you take a look at six out of every 10 tickets
21:39coming in here on the Steelers and a low total of 38 and a half.
21:43Second start for Gabriel resting and ready at home.
21:46Pittsburgh.
21:47It's an interesting line here.
21:48Nonetheless, Joe, what are you thinking about Cleveland and Pittsburgh?
21:50I would have bet Pittsburgh, all things being equal, if they didn't have to.
21:57This is now the third straight road game.
21:59And the fact that Pittsburgh got a week off after playing in London now, but the Browns
22:05don't.
22:06And that's a terrible spot for the Browns, any which way you cut it.
22:10Having said that, do I really trust Pittsburgh offensively to go up against this defense time
22:18zone travel or not?
22:19No, I don't.
22:21I think Pittsburgh's regression is coming.
22:24And I think this game here has walk-off field goal written all over it.
22:29Would not shock me if the Steelers lose outright in this spot.
22:32Ooh, the Pittsburgh Steelers, they won't like that.
22:34And by the way, they can take a hold on that division.
22:36They pick up another victory.
22:38Baltimore loses again.
22:39But as we talked about early in the show, Joe, that's an interesting schedule with maybe
22:42a lot of wins for a healthier Baltimore Ravens team.
22:45Should be some fun to watch how that AFC North goes down.
22:48I'll tell you again, that's not on many people's bingo cards to watch at four o'clock this
22:52weekend, Joe.
22:53That's Tennessee and it's Las Vegas.
22:54It's Cam Ward.
22:55First victory there for the youngster last week in amazing fashion against Arizona.
23:00Back-to-back road games for them, taking on Las Vegas, who was embarrassing last week
23:04versus the Colts.
23:06A four and a half point favorite, which was down from that look-ahead number, Joe, at
23:09six and a half and a total of 41 and a half.
23:11Back-to-back wins for the Titans, or are we saying that?
23:13Come on now.
23:14Vegas can't be this bad, can they?
23:16Oh, yes, they can, Donnie.
23:20Geno Smith, the Calvary is not coming to help them here.
23:24I don't see anything getting better for the Raiders.
23:27They'll be, again, without their two best players on offense.
23:30They lost their left tackle.
23:32The guy who was protecting Geno and Colton Miller, one of the best blocking tackles in
23:37the NFL.
23:38Brock Bowers is still not 100%.
23:41Won't be, wouldn't shock me if they rest him here.
23:44You've got Jeffrey Simmons in the middle of probably licking his chops for this game
23:49for Tennessee.
23:50And listen, winning matters.
23:52Momentum matters here.
23:54It's very hard to trust Vegas in any way, shape, or form.
23:58But you know what?
23:59With both teams' possible turnovers, short fields, yeah, I'll take the over, Donnie.
24:04I think we're getting some points in this game as well.
24:07Like, you look at this, right?
24:08Like, again, they want to win football games.
24:11We get it.
24:11But sometimes you look at this like, hey, let me just see what I have at the quarterback
24:13position.
24:14And by the way, Geno, you better start playing some football here.
24:17It's only going to be one of the worst contracts that we've signed over the past two to three
24:20years at this point.
24:21If I'm looking at this too, Ashton Jinty's touchdown prop, minus 155.
24:25Sounds expensive, but it feels like a game that he's probably going to get in the end zone.
24:29More NFL talk next on a football Friday, right here on the early line on the Sports Grid Network.
24:34Bring it in, bring it in, bring it in, people, because you know what?
24:37We got Sunday NFL games to talk about.
24:39We're hitting every single game on the board.
24:41It's what we do.
24:42Like, Joe Ranieri, Donnie, right side, get you prepared for this weekend's action, and
24:46you need to know who's going to be in or out.
24:47The only question is, Joe, we really don't know who's in or out in some of these circumstances,
24:51which is looking like the San Francisco 49ers possibly going to Mac Jones as we wait on
24:55Brock Purdy to get in.
24:56But we do know Baker Mayfield is playing at an MVP level, and they, the Buccaneers, are
25:01the favorites, taking on the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
25:05Minus three in Tampa, 47 and a half as a total.
25:08I got to tell you, Mac Jones or Brock Purdy, I'm sort of feeling an O for this game.
25:13Banged up defenses here, two offensive coordinators that are cooking right now, and it seems like
25:17we don't care who's playing for the 49ers.
25:19Kyle Shanahan's drawing up some banger plays right now, Joe.
25:22Yeah, I mean, listen, it's not like Tampa doesn't have its own issues, right?
25:28They're playing musical chairs on the offensive line, Donnie, as well.
25:32And they, you know, they went up against such a banged up Seattle defense that they were
25:37able to pick that secondary apart here.
25:41It's going to be interesting to see what Sala can draw up here, because the linebackers
25:45are still pretty darn good here on the 49ers.
25:49And they do have a little extra time, right, last having what they beat, the Rams on a
25:55Thursday night.
25:56So they've had a little extra time here.
25:59The problem is, though, Baker is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
26:03And right now, he is rolling along.
26:06But no Mike Evans, no Bucky Irving, two starters on the right side of the offensive line.
26:11And now, apparently, Chris Godwin might not play in this game as well.
26:15They're dropping like flies in Tampa here, Donnie.
26:18There's a couple quarterbacks I just love to watch, like Lamar Jackson.
26:21I just love to watch him play, because he's so unique to what we see in the NFL.
26:25Josh Allen is like a bull in a china shop, but still able to get the job done with a
26:29howitzer on his arm.
26:30And Baker Mayfield is like that short-statured quarterback that still has a good arm, but
26:34a swashbuckler back there.
26:35And so much fun to watch him play.
26:37It almost doesn't matter, again, who he's playing with.
26:39You know he's going to elevate that team.
26:41Fun game to watch.
26:41We'll see what turns out in a big battle in the NFC.
26:44Hey, here's one, Joe, that I feel like it's not going to go the way it's supposed to.
26:49It either goes unbelievably well for the Packers in a 40-6 win, or I feel like Cincinnati wins
26:55this game outright.
26:56It doesn't feel like, Joe, we're going right on the spread, which is 14-14.5, or right on
27:01the total.
27:02It just feels like this pendulum is going to swing one way or another.
27:05Wow!
27:05Genius to get Joe Flacco or, man, you traded for that?
27:09What are we thinking, Joe?
27:10So, Cincinnati and Green Bay, whoo, look at that spread.
27:14Well, I think Green Bay has got some good news, right?
27:17Because they are returning their right tackle, Zach Tom, and their starting left guard, Aaron
27:23Banks.
27:23That is huge, because we saw without them what even a Dallas defense could do, and they caused
27:29all sorts of issues there for Green Bay when they lost that side of the line.
27:34This feels like one of these games, Donnie, where the Packers are going to play from in
27:39front, and then they're, because of that soft defense of Cincinnati in the second half,
27:45they are just going to drain the clock out all day long.
27:49I don't think they're going to ask Jordan Love to throw the ball 70 times, exactly what
27:53they did to Detroit in the first game, if you remember.
27:57Blasted them early, and then just held on to the ball and milked the clock out in the second
28:01half.
28:02And I think that's exactly what they're going to be doing here.
28:05How about exactly what's going to take place on Sunday at football?
28:08The game of the week for me, that's the Detroit Lions go into Arrowhead Stadium to take on
28:13the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Chiefs are under .500.
28:16They lose.
28:17They'll be two games under .500.
28:19The favorite, though, is Kansas City.
28:21Xavier Worthy's still a little bit banged up here in this practice week.
28:24They desperately need him to play this one, and a total that's risen, Joe, from 48 and
28:28a half.
28:28We talked about it all week long, up to his high now at 53 at some outlets.
28:33Goff Mahomes, big-time game in prime time.
28:37And we've seen it, right?
28:39Pros versus Joes here.
28:41The public saw Detroit open up as an underdog and could not believe it.
28:46Wrong team favorite, Donnie, and the tickets were rolling in on Detroit.
28:50The only problem is, yeah, Kansas City, that line is getting bigger, and now at two and
28:56a half, may even get three before it tells you a lot about what the pros and the Joes
29:01think in this game.
29:02It's still Kansas City.
29:04They're still at home.
29:05We saw offensively on the road against Jacksonville last couple of weeks what they are capable of
29:12doing.
29:12It's very hard to go against them in this spot, while Detroit certainly looks like they
29:19can go toe-to-toe for a little while.
29:21Keep in mind, Donnie, that entire secondary of the Lions is a mass unit now.
29:27They are decimated by injuries in the back end of that defense.
29:31Sounds like one Patrick Mahomes might be able to take advantage of that in this game.
29:3686% I'm looking at.
29:38That's how many tickets are coming in out of every 100 tickets on the Detroit Lions with
29:43reverse line movement.
29:45This is the ultimate pros versus Joes game.
29:47Monday Night Football, pros versus Joes.
29:50I think we're getting another one here, Joe.
29:52Eight out of every 10 tickets coming in on Buffalo.
29:54Oh, where'd that line open up?
29:56Four and a half?
29:56Where does it sit today?
29:57Six and a half?
29:58Nope.
29:58Four and a half to the Buffalo Bills on the road, taking on Michael Penix and the Atlanta
30:03Falcons.
30:03A total that's listed between 49 and a half and 50, depending where he's shopping at.
30:08The Bills should win this game, but that line isn't moving.
30:11Home teams, home dogs, Joe.
30:15So we talked about this in the spread lines this morning, Donnie, with the Bills.
30:20Historically, Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills, after a loss, they get very conservative,
30:27meaning they lock it down on defense and then they don't go crazy or try to beat themselves
30:33offensively.
30:35They are 17, 10 and one against the number after a loss, but they are nine and 19 over
30:42and under.
30:43So 19 unders out of 28 games after a loss since 2019.
30:48It feels like that's exactly what McDermott is going to want to do here.
30:52They are going to make sure, keep everything in front of them.
30:55They're going to be very conservative on offense and they'll be more than happy to run away with
31:00a win here by a field goal or less than a touchdown.
31:04So the under, I think, is the best value in this game.
31:07Wrapping up the entire week here of football, game number two of the doubleheader on Monday
31:12night football, Chicago and Washington.
31:14Caleb Williams going up against Jaden Daniels.
31:16A same spread as the other game on Monday night football, four and a half, same exact
31:20total at 49 and a half.
31:23How about that?
31:23Williams, Daniels, Monday night football.
31:25Joe, what are we previewing here?
31:26Yeah, it's this to me, I think, is shaping up to be another under, Donnie.
31:33We already know Monday night unders have been historically profitable, but you got two teams
31:39here that defensively know we got to keep everything in front of us.
31:43We've got to take away what the other team wants to do.
31:46Under 50 sounds like a good bet.
