The first issue of Goop magazine is here and it stars none other than founder Gwyneth Paltrow, smothered in clay mud, on the cover.
Transcript
00:00Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop now has its own magazine. And no surprise, the lifestyle brand's founder
00:05is on the cover, smothered in goop. Okay, technically she's covered in clay mud.
00:09The magazine's first issue features a conversation with the actress and entrepreneur,
00:14where she discusses failure and alternative remedies. She also recalled her first cleanse,
00:19saying,
00:30Unfortunately, that's not really how it works. As far as alternative remedies go, Paltrow
00:41opened up about her first bee venom treatment, which sounds like something you might want to
00:45stay away from if you're afraid of bees. She revealed,
00:48The quarterly mag, priced at $14.99, will
00:59feature content similar to that on goop.com, including healing modalities, clean beauty,
01:04and women's sexual health. Goop magazine is just the latest in Paltrow's expansion of the
01:09lifestyle platform she launched in 2008. The company has Goop-branded beauty products, apparel,
01:14vitamins, and its first wellness summit called In Goop Health, which was held in June in LA.
01:19Of course, Goop's growth hasn't come without some controversy. Last month, an advertising
01:24watchdog organization filed a formal complaint with two California district attorneys after
01:29an investigation revealed that Goop is making deceptive health claims to promote products
01:33on its site. In response, Goop said Tina.org provided limited information and made threats
01:39under arbitrary deadlines, which were not reasonable under the circumstances. No matter, though,
01:44Paltrow says she has learned this,
01:45Going into a hole is exactly the opposite of the lesson. The lesson is to energetically cultivate
01:51f*** you. For more on this story, check out THR.com's fashion and beauty destination,
