00:00You are not going alone.
00:01Anna? No, I have my powers to protect me. You don't.
00:05Excuse me, I climbed the North Mountain, survived a Frozen heart, and saved you from my ex-boyfriend,
00:09and I did it all without powers. So, you know, I'm coming.
00:12Me too. I'll drive.
00:13I'll bring the snacks!
00:15Frozen 2 is almost here, but the early reviews already are.
00:20The movie doesn't hit theaters until November 22nd,
00:22but critics have already seen the latest adventures of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf.
00:27And the early consensus is pretty positive, but not overwhelmingly so.
00:32The sequel's Metacritic score sits at 68 after the first round of reviews on the Critical Aggregator site.
00:39The tomato meter for critics at Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 83% mark.
00:44The site says,
00:54The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy agrees,
00:56calling it a sequel that can't miss,
00:58but also it can't help but feel predictable,
01:02safe, and beholden to formulaic rules.
01:05Other critics felt the same.
01:06Vanity Fair's Richard Lawson called the movie
01:09pretty exciting, pretty funny, pretty transporting,
01:12but says the discoveries are rushed and are served up half-baked.
01:16Peter Bradshaw at The Guardian felt a little harsher.
01:19He called Frozen 2 underpowered and contrived,
01:22saying the sequel feels more like an extended bonus featurette.
01:27At Forbes, Scott Mendelsohn described it as a generic dark sequel template
01:31that barely bothers to focus on specifics,
01:34but did say it works as a character-driven comedy.
01:37And Kate Erbland at IndieWire said,
01:40despite the script occasionally getting lost in the woods,
01:43she found the sequel to be crammed with material that worked.
01:47Tell me, you're older and thus all-knowing.
01:49Do you ever worry about the notion that nothing is permanent?
01:53Uh, no.
01:55Oh, really?
01:56Wow.
01:57I can't wait until I'm aged like you
01:59so I don't have to worry about important things.
