In the era of instant gratification, going to a theater unspoiled is one of the few ways to recapture the magic of the movies.

00:08Avengers Endgame has managed to stay one of Hollywood's best-kept secrets until now.

00:13Leaked footage was reported as popping up online Monday evening,

00:16prompting spoiler-adverse Marvel fans to temporarily abandon their social media accounts by the droves

00:22and go into full panic mode.

00:30I like this one.

00:32After the leak, Endgame directors the Russo brothers wrote a letter asking fans not to spoil the movie,

00:37as they did last year for Avengers Infinity War.

00:39However, the letter did not address the leak and rather spoke to fans who will be seeing the film in theaters.

00:44The Russos wrote,

00:45Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts and your souls into these stories,

00:50we're once again asking for your help.

00:52When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don't spoil it for others,

00:56the same way you wouldn't want it spoiled for you.

00:58Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.

01:01We owe this to everyone who's not in this room to try.

01:07So why are Marvel fans so upset over the online leak that they're not just muting Endgame-related hashtags on Twitter,

01:12but even deleting their social media apps altogether?

01:15As The Hollywood Reporter contributor Richard Newby puts it,

01:17It's not so much what the spoiler is that stresses us so,

01:20but the possibility of having an experience stolen from us.

01:24When Avengers Endgame releases next week, we don't want to just watch it,

01:27we want to experience it and live in those moments for the first time.

01:31He wiped out 50% of all living creatures.

01:37Avengers Endgame flies into theaters April 26th.
