00:00this scooter here Lumina I can't get any mileage out of this unless I have it in
00:12gear too so I'm thinking of changing the batteries and for the owner's manual I
00:20had this in the beginning but you can get one of these because it tells the
00:27specs of the battery just by going to there's a little web address you find it
00:38this is 200 and here it is southern telecom.com and you can click on support and download this
00:51for free or save it to your computer but as you see this is one of the first ones so it's pretty
01:00slow well it goes to like 19 miles an hour but I only could get it was only supposed to go to five
01:09or six miles so I was wondering if you could upgrade it but I just want to take out the battery and see
01:18if uh match up the battery and see if I can get something better or at least how how to get to
01:27the battery or how to get it out anyhow one sec okay so first thing you'll have to get a
01:34phillips screwdriver with a good bit on it this one here is better it's got a better bit on it
01:43and there's one here right below the power switch that'll come out and turn it around and get the
01:57one on the other side so I started to do this yesterday and this cap will just pop off
02:10now we can see I'll put it on the desk or whatever it's comfortable for you and there's two nuts right
02:23there or uh they look like out I got to try an allen wrench in there so let me see if I can get one
02:31that fits yeah I was using these for one of the treadmill repairs but uh it's taking the 532nd
02:40allen wrench and uh I guess the battery should be right in this column under here
02:48will be the first time I did this so let's try it
02:52okay this cap's about to come off
03:01I'm not getting the batteries today
03:07so if it gets too complicated I'm going to put it back together
03:13that's what we have
03:17handlebar comes right off
03:21one sec
03:23so the first thing I noticed was right on the right side you'll see where the
03:29right cable comes out and then the left
03:34and you want to make sure
03:38the uh
03:42charging unit
03:44which is right
03:46right here
03:50right there
03:53goes towards the inside
03:56if you remember
03:58then the handlebars
04:00go across this
04:02plastic here
04:04and already I see
04:07a little connector
04:08that did not have nothing on it
04:11nothing in there
04:16so let me just check it out a little
04:23before I
04:24take anything more apart
04:27okay now next it looks like it's
04:29was stuffed in there pretty good
04:32but it is coming out
04:35the uh
04:37one is connected to the
04:42you can see the light
04:44and I'm wondering if this is
04:50I don't want to pull any connections off
04:53I'm wondering if I tip it upside down or
04:57yeah now it's kind of
05:01I don't want to be pulling any harder than that
05:04so let me try to
05:06tip it upside down
05:07and see if that'll come out that way
05:10and then you also notice
05:12on the side of the light
05:14you got these two here
05:17so maybe I'll
05:21and you use the tool with that
05:23so I'm wondering if I should just take that off or not
05:27because
05:28if it's a closed cylinder
05:30now it's got a
05:31you know is it just
05:34yeah I'm gonna have to take that off
05:36because that
05:37that might be how this comes out
05:38this is that same
05:41size allen wrench
05:43532nd
05:45so maybe it does have something to do with it
05:52first I thought it was the tool
05:58like the same one to
05:59you know how you tighten up the
06:02bottom of the stand
06:04with the bottom of the
06:07steering column here
06:10so it doesn't wiggle when you got the handlebars
06:16now there's four of these
06:20and I was online looking for
06:28it says the model number
06:30it says the model number is
06:31once I go back to the
06:33owner's manual
06:39I think it's like a bunch of double A batteries
06:43so I just got these four
06:48I want to show you this right now
06:50that cover comes off
06:52and there's two more Phillips screws under here
07:01so I bet you that's what's
07:03holding the
07:05battery pack
07:09and I have to
07:10take those two screws out
07:12one second
07:13see there's also two more
07:15on each side of the bottom of the column
07:17so I don't know what I'm getting into here
07:22I haven't really seen any videos out there
07:25now the bottom two here
07:28is where you use this tool that they gave you
07:32see I don't even remember tightening
07:47these
07:47if there was a
07:50loose part in the steering
07:53or if it would jiggle in any way
07:55this would take care of that
07:58there's two more on the other side too
08:02and I'm sure
08:06if it goes
08:10I'm not sure if it goes to the brakes or not
08:12let's just turn it around
08:14to the other side
08:19and I think I'm just gonna mark it
08:44with tape
08:46make
08:49like a piece here and a piece here
08:52just to make sure
08:53it lines up
08:54because I'm not sure
08:55if I'm
08:56gonna get a
08:58mix up on that
09:01one sec
09:02just like that
09:04let's see if this comes off
09:08four screws are out
09:11yeah that was pretty easy
09:16this came off like that
09:20now there's a big nut
09:23right here
09:25you're gonna have to look in there
09:47now they're putting the battery packs
09:50like on the bottom
09:51where people are taking them apart
09:54but I haven't seen a video yet
09:57where
09:58if they do put
10:01a battery in one of these columns
10:05there's just a simple
10:06strap
10:08you put your finger in it
10:10you can pull it out
10:11and you can pop another battery in there
10:14so this was made
10:15before
10:18this is
10:20I think it's 2019
10:22so they were just ending this model
10:25when I bought it
10:26that's when I was fairly new to it
10:31but
10:32I don't think I'm gonna go any further tonight
10:36maybe
10:38somebody leave in the comments
10:40if they ever had a beam
10:43I'm not sure if it's the same as a Jetson
10:46but I haven't seen any videos
10:52where there's just many wires in there
10:54there's just one wire here
10:56and maybe if that
10:59nut comes out
11:00and you can disconnect this wire
11:03if it can go through
11:05yeah that would be the easiest way
11:09so I can push it
11:11push it
11:14and the
11:14let me just try that a second
11:21see if it would push it out
11:27I'm gonna have to pause this
11:29yeah the charging
11:30where the charger's plugged in
11:33that
11:34wire just popped off
11:36so I think I'm gonna put this back together
11:39and
11:39maybe take it apart
11:43you know when the batteries are totally dead
11:49cause I know I still have some battery life left in it
11:52okay
11:54put those
11:55back in
11:56now there was two washers
12:01I'm not sure if there was four
12:03so try to notice
12:05well there's three
12:07so
12:07I might be missing one
12:09but I haven't really taken that apart yet
12:11so
12:11that's probably the way they made it
12:14now I'm gonna try to plug that charger back in
12:19can't charge it
12:21it won't be any good
12:22found it
12:24there's that
12:24red one right there
12:26and you can't really see it
12:27but uh
12:29got it in
12:30now I'm gonna
12:31put it back together
12:32remember those two Phillips screws
12:35I'm gonna put the light back on first
12:38the side
12:42that's right
12:45this is next
12:46four screws on the light
12:50yeah last time I had this out
12:57I could only run it in second gear
13:00if I ran it in third
13:02it would stop and go
13:04not even like
13:05one minute into my ride
13:07so I haven't even seen the batteries today
13:16and I haven't found a video where
13:19I seen the
13:21somebody doing this
13:25what I'm doing
13:26I'm gonna keep looking though
13:28because I'm sure something's out there
13:30wow
13:31I couldn't even show you what I did there
13:34but uh
13:35I just wanted to get this one
13:37see how it falls out
13:40so here's what you have to remember here
13:45the uh
13:47red goes on the left
13:49standing up
13:50and the cable goes under
13:53that little groove there
13:57let's get the light
14:00let's get the light
14:00see that
14:03then you have
14:05the speedometer cable
14:08going to the groove on the right
14:10with
14:11remember in the beginning we said
14:14the black is on the right
14:19the accelerator
14:22that goes out here
14:25and it just fits in
14:27and then it's a pain to get the bolts
14:32in the threads
14:33and you don't want to tighten it too fast
14:35or you could
14:37you know hurt one of the wires on the lights
14:43and then your light won't work
14:46so let me try to
14:48cap this up here
14:50and then of course you want to make sure your
14:52handlebar
14:56it's got equal room on both sides
14:58before you finish tightening that
15:02before I put the final screws on
15:04I just want to test the
15:06watch out when you press that
15:09LCD
15:11I got one of these protectors
15:16that was on a cell phone
15:18it sticks on it pretty good
15:22okay that's the lights working
15:28I still have to tighten it for the handlebars
15:36but that'll be the video on the
15:38the beam
15:40maybe I'll attempt again sometime
15:44all I have to do is test the charger
15:46make sure that works
15:47I hope so
15:48or I'll have to rip it all
15:50back apart again
15:52okay thanks for watching the video
15:57and we'll see you next time
