Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Seven members of the same family, including a child, were killed on the spot after a dumper truck loaded with gravel overturned on their car on the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway on Friday (28 Nov 2025). The accident occurred within the limits of Gagalhedi police station.

According to police and local reports, a family from Sayyid Majra village was travelling in their car when a speeding dumper coming from the Dehradun side lost control and toppled directly onto the vehicle. The gravel in the dumper also collapsed onto the car, crushing it completely.

The impact was so severe that the five-foot-long car was reduced to just two feet. Three cranes were required to lift the overturned dumper, while locals worked for hours to clear the gravel. The victims trapped inside were heard screaming, and rescuers had to cut open the car roof, but all seven had already died.

Eyewitnesses said the dumper driver braked suddenly after the car came in front of the truck, but due to high speed, he failed to control the vehicle, leading to the fatal rollover.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the tragedy and directed officials to reach the spot immediately and ensure prompt relief measures. He has also ordered proper medical arrangements for the injured, if any.
