00:00Four young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Gorakhpur, Varanesi National Highway
00:10on Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 9.45am when a motorcycle carrying the
00:15four victims collided head-on with a speeding SUV attempting to overtake a tractor. The impact was
00:21so severe that two riders were flung nearly 20 feet into the air, while the other two were dragged
00:25for almost 100m on the car's bonnet before the vehicle came to a halt. The SUV driver fled
00:31the scene, abandoning the vehicle. The deceased were identified as Sunil Kumar, Pradiyam Kumar,
00:36Arvind Kumar and Rahul Kumar, all whitewash workers from Gatauli Tola in Sidhwapar Gramsabhar.
00:42Locals and police rushed them to a community health centre where Sunil, Pradiyam and Arvind
00:47were declared dead. Rahul succumbed to injuries on the way to the
00:51district hospital. According to neighbours, Pradiyam and Rahul were relatives, while Sunil
00:56was a close friend. Rahul was the only child of his parents and was to be engaged on June
01:001. Circle officer Manoj Kumar Pandey confirmed that an FIR has been registered and efforts
01:06are underway to trace the absconding driver.
