00:00Buffalo and Houston Thursday night football to get the week started off in style from Houston.
00:05This line sits around five and a half as a heavy favorite for Buffalo.
00:09Heavy ticket count on the Buffalo Bills here.
00:11And a total, which that look ahead number was 45 and a half, has dropped to 43 and a half.
00:15You saw last week.
00:17Hey, you know what?
00:17Houston picks up a victory, even though it's against a bad football team, still a victory.
00:21Buffalo, real good performance in the wind at home.
00:24But now we flip it over to the Dome, Joe.
00:26Thursday night football between Buffalo and Houston.
00:28What's the spread line we can look forward to?
00:31Well, Donnie, you and I have been saying it all year, right?
00:33Now you've got a road favorite on a short week.
00:37And in short weeks, we usually like, especially in this spot, maybe a home dog.
00:42But it doesn't seem to look like many other people are buying that at this particular point.
00:49So this is going to be an interesting one to see, right?
00:52Well, the look ahead markets had this at about two, two and a half.
00:57It's not like Davis Mills looked all that great against the Titans.
01:01We'll see if C.J. Stroud can clear the concussion protocol in time for this one.
01:07But I think that's the thing you're waiting on, Donnie.
01:10If you want to jump the gun, man, you want to grab Houston now, because I believe if C.J. Stroud is clear during the week, this number is going the other way.
01:19So grab as many points now if you're backing Houston rather than later.
01:25I do think Stroud is going to be able to go for this one.
01:28News and notes across the NFL landscape here.
01:31Dropping down the hammer was the NFL yesterday on Jamar Chase.
01:35Why?
01:35Well, there was a fist to cuffs out on a football field.
01:38Punches were thrown.
01:39Like, man, the Rams, he lost his mind.
01:41He can't just simply trash talk with somebody.
01:43He's got to throw fists.
01:44Well, when you zoom in in 4K with a million cameras in an NFL stadium, you get this.
01:50An actual spitting incident here involving Jamar Chase.
01:54And here's Jamar Chase once again saying, I didn't do that.
01:57Walk us through what happened here.
01:58I don't know who Jim.
02:01Exchange your words.
02:02You were saying that you spit on him.
02:05Did you spit on him?
02:06I never, I never, I'm not today.
02:08Yeah.
02:10Why do you, so what do you think prompted the reaction from him?
02:13Well, you know, like some of the worries I told him.
02:17He'd been going back and forth the whole time.
02:19So I'm sure some shit, some got under his skin.
02:22That's it.
02:22So it was building a hole.
02:24Huh.
02:25They didn't do it.
02:26They saw you do it.
02:27I didn't do it.
02:28That's when some of those, you know, alleged murderers go and say, not guilty, Joe.
02:32Not guilty.
02:33But if you've never opened your mouth to that guy, then how, how are you exchanging words
02:39then?
02:40I don't get it.
02:41You're contradicting yourself.
02:42And by the way, that was after the game on Sunday, they had a chance yesterday to ask
02:48him again.
02:48And he went no comment after, of course, the NFL brought the hammer down.
02:53So he went from never opened my mouth to literally not opening his mouth and saying no comment
02:59there yesterday.
03:00But even Zach Taylor, even his coach is like, yeah, listen, it's, you know, that can't happen.
03:07It's unacceptable.
03:08And, you know, it's going to cost him more than anything else.
03:11But the team now has to take on the Patriots without their leading receivers.
03:16So it's, it kind of takes everybody down with him.
03:20Yeah.
03:20It's time to send Joe Burrow to the, to Fiji or maybe the islands here just to relax and
03:25say, don't rush.
03:26Don't come back here because they're going to take on New England men of the hottest
03:28teams in football.
03:29And also there's seven and a half to eight and a half point underdogs.
03:33Now we're talking about the Cincinnati Bengals.
03:35Why?
03:35Because their main weapon and basically the only, hey, T Higgins is a good wide receiver.
03:39Don't get me wrong.
03:39But now T Higgins is the one where you go, we don't have to worry about the other side
03:42of the field.
03:42Now we can double down on him.
03:43Good luck moving the football Cincinnati and winning games here.
03:46You're taking on New England Patriots this weekend at one o'clock and a total of 48 and
03:51a half.
03:51New England's going to have some fun on offense and probably some fun on defense as well.
03:55You know, he's not having any fun, Joe, on offense right now.
03:58That's the Atlanta Falcons.
04:00They're going to be down.
04:01They're at signal caller.
04:02Oh boy.
04:02Okay.
04:03Penix is down.
04:03ACL injury.
04:04We probably won't even get it back to a mid next year, depending on how the surgery goes.
04:08And oh yeah.
04:09Well, that's okay.
04:10Kirk Cousins comes in.
04:11He's still going to have Drake London.
04:12He's probably not going to have Drake London either.
04:14At this point, the Atlanta Falcons losing every week and losing guys every week as well.
04:21Yeah.
04:21Not, uh, not good.
04:23Uh, and now listen, I don't like Zach Robinson to begin with the offensive coordinator.
04:28I didn't like them last year.
04:30I don't like them this year.
04:31I think the play calling is suspect.
04:33And now you're missing weapons.
04:35You've got Kirk Cousins back under center.
04:38And it just feels like the coaching staff way in over their head, uh, for this spot here.
04:44This team is far too talented to be as inept as they are.
04:49Certainly offensively.
04:50Donnie, something has got to give.
04:52Yeah.
04:52Something does have to give.
04:53It's never a good sign when the Atlanta Falcons are underdogs to the New Orleans Saints, which they currently are right now.
05:00Minus one and a half point favorites for New Orleans and a total between 38 and a half and 39 and a half.
05:05Go Kirk Cousins.
05:06Go.
05:07Welcome back to the NFL.
05:08It's probably going to be the start of the rest of the way for Atlanta.
05:10Good luck with that one here.
05:12Do you know who else isn't going to be a starter anymore?
05:14Well, he, Tyra Taylor.
05:15Back to starter.
05:16Justin Fields, no longer a starter as the Jets are going to take on the Baltimore Ravens as close to two touchdown underdogs here.
05:23The foundation has been rocked for the Jets.
05:26Hey, look-see on Justin Fields.
05:28That look-see didn't work out.
05:29Jets two touchdown favorites, two touchdown dogs this weekend.
05:32And we don't know what's going to happen with Justin Fields the rest of his time here with the Jets.
05:36Yeah.
05:37And it, well, it came down because this was as high as 14 and a half, Donnie.
05:42And that was even where the look-ahead line was.
05:44It was starting to climb up.
05:46But keep in mind here, nothing, and I mean nothing we saw out of this Ravens team against Cleveland was impressive here.
05:53And it's still not.
05:54I mean, Lamar still making mistakes, but it didn't, not enough to cost him against Shador Sanders here.
06:02And Tyra Taylor, if nothing else, has been here.
06:06He has done this.
06:07He knows his team.
06:08He knows in this situation what his role is.
06:12And also, Kyle Hamilton is playing very hurt for the Ravens right now on defense.
06:17And that's a problem.
06:18Yes, the Jets are no good.
06:20But my goodness, the Browns' offense was no good either.
06:24And yet, they could barely get out of there.
06:27So, I wouldn't be running to the window to lay this many points with Baltimore right now.
06:31Still a lot of questions.
06:32A lot of questions here also, and a lot of questions on what the heck's going on with the New York Giants this year.
06:37Find your head coach.
06:38You know, the future quarterbacks are going to be Jackson Dart.
06:41When to put him back on the football field.
06:42Jameis is out here being competitive.
06:44But also, you take a look at the New York Giants this week, and you say, okay, well, Abdul Carter, who I loved coming into the draft, I thought he'd be a true game changer.
06:51A half a sack on the season.
06:52And he's sleeping in the facility and missing team meetings.
06:56Now, number one, nobody woke him up.
06:58Or number two, where the heck was he at in the facility?
07:00Hiding for everybody while he was taking a nap?
07:03Yeah.
07:04Well, we seem to have that.
07:05This is what happens when you, you know, you're a three, four-win team at most.
07:10This is a 10-to-year.
07:11You know, the same thing with Dallas, by the way, who didn't start both of their starting wide receivers yesterday because it was a coach's decision, which I think is pretty funny because they were in there in the second series.
07:23So, I guess it didn't matter much there.
07:25But the same thing here with the Giants.
07:28Like, if you're going to be a leader, be a leader, man.
07:31You know, I mean, that's what your role is.
07:34But in this spot, is Jackson Dart playing?
07:37Is he not playing?
07:38What is – do we bring him back, Donnie, or do we just roll Jameis back out?
07:43I don't know that you're in a rush to bring him back either.
07:46I'm telling you, like, he doesn't – at least for another month, he doesn't see the field because you're trying to lose football games, number one.
07:52You don't want to hurt your franchise quarterback by getting a second concussion in a short period of time.
07:57So, that's a decision you have to make.
07:58Now, granted, you should leave it down to the medical doctors, and Mike Kafka certainly wants him out there because you want to win football games.
08:03But you got to bring him in slow at this point.
08:05By the way, this is one of those things where I say, well, I don't understand.
08:08Like, he was sleeping at the facility, and he missed a team meeting.
08:11This is one of those things where you know Abdul Carter is not loved in the locker room.
08:14Hey, look at Abdul.
08:15He's sleeping over there.
08:16Good.
08:16Let's leave him.
08:17We'll go to the meeting because we know he's going to get in trouble.
08:19Instead of walking over and waking up and saying, hey, time for the meeting, man.
08:22Let's go.
08:23That's not a good sign for that leadership group there in the Giants looking at some of those younger players.
08:27We'll find out more about that.
08:28Go ahead.
08:29Yeah.
08:29Yeah, go ahead.
08:30This was the same guy that before he played a snap in the NFL had the unmitigated goal to call Lawrence Taylor and say, hey, dude, I want 56.
08:39Yeah.
08:40Okay.
08:41Let me know how that works out for you, man.
08:43You got a long way to grow up, my man.
08:45A long way to go.
08:46Unreal.
08:46His only job is to say, hey, look, we're going to coach you up just by saying you're going to be on third downs.
08:51Go sack the quarterback as a top three draft pick.
08:54And he can't do it right now.
08:55And he's sleeping in the facility.
08:56Man, the Giants.
08:57I don't know what goes on in that building, but certainly not good.
09:00How about this?
09:00This is an epidemic.
09:01And it finds out like, hey, who's playing today?
09:03The Browns.
09:04Or who's playing today?
09:05The Patriots.
09:05Well, let's just go look at some of these houses and go rob the people.
09:08We don't even know, it says, if anything was taken.
09:10But there was a break in at Shador Sanders residence while he was playing in the second half against the Baltimore Ravens.
09:17That's such an odd headline, Dottie.
09:20Would it have, would he not have gotten broken in if he wasn't playing?
09:24Like, I don't, I don't understand.
09:26Yeah.
09:26Like, I don't understand.
09:26Like, oh, he got into the game and all of a sudden somebody broke into his house.
09:31So you think they were watching the game and like, Shador Sanders goes in.
09:34They're like, all right, now's the time.
09:36Let's go and break into the house.
09:37This has just got inside job written all over it again.
09:41All over the country.
09:42This isn't happening just in Cleveland.
09:44It's happening in a lot of cities with professional athletes.
09:47It seems simple, but yeah, it's pretty smart for a criminal.
09:50Like, yeah, he's at the game.
09:51He's not going to be home.
09:53Turn the TV on.
09:53Oh, we're still in the third quarter.
09:54Yeah, he's not coming home anytime soon.
09:57And that's, guess what they're doing here.
09:58Look, get some ADT, get some cameras, get somebody to stay at your house while those games are on here.
10:03That's the best way to fix that scenario.
10:04Now, also, Shador Sanders didn't come, came into that game, doesn't get a lot of reps and no backup quarterbacks in the NFL during the week get reps.
10:11It's always the first team guys.
10:12But starting this week, it's probably going to be Shador Sanders going up against Las Vegas.
10:17Las Vegas is a three-point favorite.
10:18How about that game?
10:20You got Cleveland and Vegas after Vegas's fantastic performance last night.
10:23Oh, yeah.
10:25Well, listen, we know what the best unit on the field is going to be, and none of it involves Las Vegas.
10:31So that defense and Miles Garrett of Cleveland can win their games against an inept offense like the Raiders right now.
10:39That defense can win that game for Cleveland alone.
10:42Let's get a little Week 12 look ahead here in the NFL, and that starts early on Thursday night.
10:48Get the party started with the Buffalo Bills, who got the party started at home with a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
10:54A win and a cover here, which Josh Allen scored six times in this game.
10:58Three by air, three on the ground.
11:00They take on the Houston Texans, which probably is going to be Davis Mills at quarterback.
11:04Sometimes in the NFL, you look at games, Joe, and you say, just don't outsmart yourself.
11:07But then we look back and go, well, yeah, the last time the Miami Dolphins, you know, excuse me, the last time that the Buffalo Bills were playing on the road, they got pounded by the Miami Dolphins.
11:16Now they're on the road against Houston as a very good defense.
11:18It's a five-and-a-half-point line and a total of 43-and-a-half.
11:21Would we be outsmarting ourselves if we thought about taking the Houston Texans or on a short work week with a good defense?
11:28And Texans did win the past two games that they have, whereas Buffalo hitting their stride at the right time.
11:33So many complications, but eight out of every ten tickets, Joe, they're telling you, we like Buffalo.
11:39And there's no reason not to based upon offenses alone, right, Donnie?
11:45I mean, the offenses, compare these two, big problem here for Houston.
11:50But defensively, Houston is heads and tails over this Buffalo team.
11:54So what is going to win? Short week, Donnie, we've talked about it.
11:58Usually these Thursday night games, you know, home teams or pass in spots, especially if the home team is getting points, this is usually a good spot to take them.
12:09But without knowing if C.J. Stroud is going to be back, Davis Mills isn't exactly exuding confidence in the market here.
12:17But I do think if Stroud is announced cleared out of the concussion protocol, this line is going to go down here.
12:24I don't know if he's ruled out, if the line continues, you know, moves towards Buffalo.
12:29So I don't think there's any rush to bet Buffalo, but I would bet Houston sooner rather than later, because I do think this line drops if Stroud goes.
12:38Yeah, keep it on. Some of those guys that banged up injured for a Thursday night short work week.
12:42Some guys may be coming back. We'll find those practice reports out a little bit later in the week.
12:46I know they have like that unofficial one on a Monday where it's basically a walkthrough.
12:49But Tuesday and Wednesday, you'll get a better feel on who's actually going to be playing in those games here.
12:53I'll tell you where we know is going to be playing the Colts and the Chiefs right now.
12:56The Chiefs on the outside looking in the playoffs.
12:58The Colts looking to secure the number one overall seed in the AFC.
13:02So how about this? A five and five Kansas City Chiefs team.
13:05Oh, their favorite. They actually opened up that look ahead line before this Sunday's games as a four and a half point favorite.
13:10It's dipping three and a half and threes at just about every outlet you'll find.
13:14And a forty nine and a half.
13:16Kansas City is not the same team that they were last year.
13:19Kansas City didn't look all that good against Denver, but Denver's defense makes a lot of really good teams look like pedestrian on offense.
13:25The only problem I have, Joe, is I loved what I saw out of Daniel Jones for most of the season.
13:30Yes, his statistics were decent in the last game we saw him play.
13:32I think it was against the Atlanta Falcons overseas.
13:35But can Daniel Jones go into Kansas City and get a win in this game?
13:39Or is it I just need Jonathan Taylor to be Jonathan Taylor and we'll be okay?
13:43This game's throwing me for a little bit of loop right now.
13:45And it's roughly a 50-50 split in ticket count.
13:47Well, it's clear, Donnie, that the market still believes Kansas City is Kansas City.
13:55And the big question is, well, do they deserve it?
13:58I mean, the look ahead spot here was four and a half.
14:02And now we've seen Indy money come in.
14:05I think Indy money is going to continue to come in.
14:08I think the hook will be gone by the time we get to kick off here.
14:12And it's a great question, but the Colts are coming off a bye week, right?
14:16Because they didn't look great in Berlin, but they've had a week to figure it out, get back on track.
14:23And if we're not buying Kansas City, the market is.
14:27But if we're not buying him, that means we have to believe Danny Dimes has taken that step with Shane Steichen.
14:32And that's a big if here in this spot.
14:36I still think if this drops to three, my bet would be on the Chiefs, Donnie.
14:41And also, you take a look at the last two wins, right, for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Raiders, 31-0.
14:47You see what the Raiders are about.
14:48You also take a look at the Commanders, 28-7.
14:50We know what the Commanders are about.
14:51Then you played up to your competition or leveled up competition.
14:54You lost to the Buffalo Bills.
14:55And then you lost to the Denver Broncos.
14:57Now come the Colts to town.
14:59This is a huge game.
15:00And also, quickly on this question for you, Joe.
15:03I thought last week was that situation, coming off a bye, must-win situation, Denver not playing that great on offense.
15:08You had to win.
15:09Fourth quarter leader, and you lost.
15:10This is a different Indy team.
15:11Like, Indy has a very good defense.
15:13But Indy now, with a refreshed, off-of-a-bye Jonathan Taylor and a great offensive coordinator in Shane Steichen,
15:20who's the head coach, that has an extra week to prepare for Spagnola's defense.
15:23Right now, it doesn't look like it has a lot of playmakers.
15:26That three and a half of it stays there looks pretty decent to me at this point.
15:29But, again, it's just must-wins called Kansas City.
15:32You know what I mean?
15:33Right.
15:34Well, bet it now.
15:35If you like the Colts, get the hook.
15:37Because I don't think it's going to be there come kickoff.
15:40And if that's the case, I mean, I like Kansas City.
15:43I would take Kansas City at three.
15:46But I wouldn't take them with the hook.
15:49I would lean towards the Colts here if they were getting more than a field goal.
15:54Because, ultimately, it's probably what we're looking at in this one is a field goal game.
15:59Eagles' defense over the past two weeks, post-trade deadline, revamping the defensive line.
16:04Sensational against Green Bay.
16:06Sensational against Detroit.
16:08Both of those games were outdoor, cold-weather situations.
16:10This game, we're going to talk about the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys in the Dome at Jerry World.
16:14The line opened up, Joe, three and a half.
16:16Still staying at three and a half.
16:18Total in this game, 51 and a half, a little bit lower to 49 and a half because you're worried a little bit about that Eagles' offense.
16:24Does the Eagles' offense have the opportunity, Joe, for you to open up being in a Dome and playing a Dallas Cowboys defense,
16:30which isn't as good as Detroit and isn't as good as Green Bay?
16:33And also, you look at Dallas' offense.
16:35Sometimes, it is hit or miss.
16:36But the one thing we know is they will be aggressive and they have talent across the board.
16:40Good running back.
16:41Good quarterback.
16:42Good wide receivers here.
16:43Am I wrong to believe, and falling into the trap again, that I think the Eagles will open up their offense,
16:48which means we should get 50 points even if we know how good that Eagles' defense is?
16:52Am I wrong?
16:54Donnie, I don't know.
16:56I mean, here we are heading into Week 12, and we're waiting for this switch to be flipped with Philadelphia,
17:02and I don't know that we get there.
17:03I just don't know that we get there.
17:05I mean, it is hard to repeat as world champions back-to-back years, and you're seeing that.
17:11And as good as they are defensively, you know, they did a really good job, but that was at home against Detroit.
17:19Let me ask you this, Donnie.
17:20What would the score have been had that game been in Detroit?
17:24Because ultimately, that's what you're looking at here with Dallas indoors, not at home, on the road.
17:32You know, there's going to be – can they expose that defense a little bit that Detroit couldn't do in Philadelphia?
17:39That's the big question here.
17:41It is.
17:41Isn't it fun?
17:42Like, you figure, like, hey, after Week 2, you know about a football team.
17:45The ebbs and flows in the NFL.
17:46Feels like every week you never know about which football team you're getting.
17:50Like, yeah, the Eagles are really good, but the Eagles have issues on offense.
17:53Dallas' defense revamped a little bit.
17:55The Eagles' defense revamped.
17:56Like, you see, just pencil this.
17:57Yeah, the Eagles are going to be in the 30s, and Dallas is going to chase them behind.
18:01I just got to see, like, how this week actually plays out to see the vibes in Philadelphia.
18:05But there are good vibes in Dallas.
18:06That was a good performance against a bad team, and now you go home in a dome.
18:09We'll see what happens.
18:10We're asking the same questions this week, Joe, as we did last week.
18:13Wait a second.
18:15You're going to give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers six and a half points here to go in the Buffalo?
18:18Where do you sign up?
18:19Well, if you did sign up, you lost.
18:20Uh-oh.
18:21Tampa Bay now going to L.A.
18:23What's that line, Joe?
18:24Six and a half points taking on the Los Angeles Rams in a total of 49 and a half.
18:30I get, again, early vibes here.
18:32We're in a dome.
18:33I'm thinking 50 points, Joe.
18:35Teams like the Blitz.
18:36Teams got good pass rushes.
18:37Two quarterbacks that can deliver here.
18:39Am I wrong about thinking about another total here going to the over?
18:43Yeah, it's a tough spot here for Tampa, too.
18:46They just went to Orchard Park.
18:48Got to fly home.
18:49Now they've got to fly out west to take on the Rams.
18:51You know, Seattle, you know, kind of did everything they could to punt that game there with the turnovers.
18:59And listen, that's the Bucs can't afford to turn the ball over like that.
19:04But I could also, I'm with you, I could see 40 points apiece in this game coming up.
19:09Health is a big issue, though, still, especially on that offensive line for Tampa.
19:14So know exactly who is playing, but my goodness, it would be hard to sweat an under out in this game, Donnie.
19:21Yeah, exactly.
19:22Like, maybe Godwin could come back.
19:23We don't know.
19:24He's been on the shelf for a little bit here.
19:25Maybe Bucky Irving starting to practice last week.
19:27He can come back.
19:28But there are weapons all over the field and two very aggressive defenses, which does leave the sacks in good pressure, but also leads to these quarterbacks making plays down the field.
19:36It should be a lot of fun to watch.
19:37But I like this, this good week coming up here at the NFL, and as we talk about, man, it just seems like some of those lines you look at, you scratch your head just a little bit.
19:44But we always like to say, Joe, just don't outsmart yourself when you're thinking about these games.
19:49Usually that first inclination that you have at the end of the week, and you change it, why didn't I stick with my initial thought process?
19:55Well, that's the NFL.
19:56We always love to second guess ourselves.
