In this week's edition of Bob Eats Boston, I head to North Andover and check out the Good Day Cafe because I heard they have the most amazing sandwiches, pastries and quiche. Yes, let's find out if real men do indeed eat quiche.

00:00Hey guys on this edition of Bob Eats Boston I'm in North Andover this is High Street we're at

00:11the Good Day Cafe now the old saying was real men don't eat quiche I'm gonna prove that wrong

00:18because they have amazing quiche and a lot more at the Good Day Cafe let's go okay I'm with Greg

00:24Lindsay he's the owner of the Good Day Cafe Greg I know you had some challenges with the flooding

00:29that happened a few years ago I was that and how have you recovered yeah the

00:35flood was not a whole lot of fun I mean it was just it was a very rainy day and

00:39just all of a sudden water started just coming right through the whole building

00:43I mean it was like a river coming through the lobby here and we we were a

00:46tributary to it I guess so you know it shut us down for a good six or seven

00:50months but we built back up had a lot of great help from you know the local

00:55community YMCA and Andover we still work with them on a lot of projects so you

00:59know as many as challenging it was it opened a lot of other doors and I think

01:03in the long run it made us stronger I agree so business looks great we happen

01:08to be here in Veterans Day so it's popping it but tell us a bit about what what

01:12your you know I'm gonna order the quiche because I do believe real men eat quiche

01:16what else is on the menu here at Good Day Cafe we have some great breakfasts are

01:21fantastic quiche is one of our one of the favorite things people love our burritos and

01:26they're just really feeling good you know you know homey food we do some great

01:30lunches our Thanksgiving sandwich is very popular French dip you know we roast

01:36all of our own meats in house so it kind of it makes it makes a difference makes it a

01:40little bit more hearty it's not sliced deli not the same thing wrong with that but

01:44you know it just it's an added level of quality I think okay I'm going to order

01:49the quiche Lorraine yes it has bacon in it so that makes anything okay that's a

01:54real man's quiche so I'm gonna it's delicious so with the holidays who wants to

01:59cook you're too busy you're shopping all the hustle bustle look at this they have a

02:04holiday catering menu with everything from pastry sandwiches quiches pretty

02:10impressive guys have to check this place out look at this don't tell me real men

02:15don't eat keys right tell me about this keys because I don't know how you get

02:21it so big the secret to it is you got to kind of build it slowly so you put it

02:26in you know it's a good four inch mold you're putting it into and you fill it

02:30and then you wait for it to cook for about 45 minutes and then you keep on

02:34adding more and more of the batter to it a little bit of the time and by the time

02:38it's done it almost looks like a balloon on the top so basically let Craig do it

02:42okay I don't know who Lorraine is but that's a heck of a quiche look at the

02:47cheese melting inside nice soft crust gotta love it's almost like a creme brulee

02:51top it's absolutely delicious it's bacon egg cheese and one delicious slice

02:59good day cafe you gotta check it out all right I'm gonna finish with some

03:03dessert pumpkin coffee cake from good day cafe they make it here it's absolutely
