Transcript
00:00Welcome to another edition of Bob Eats Boston. It's a rainy Sunday. I'm in Andover at the Shawsheen Luncheonette.
00:06I'm going to be honest, this is one of our favorite spots because it is consistently good.
00:11Whether you want breakfast or brunch or lunch, this is the place to go.
00:16The only bad part about it is it's closed at 1 o'clock, so I've got to get a table.
00:21So hang on, let's see if we can get in.
00:24So the Shawsheen Diner is Sunday. It's breakfast only, and I'm okay with that.
00:29We start out with a croissant, French toast.
00:32You've got blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, whipped cream, and like I said, croissant, French toast.
00:43That's delicious. The texture is so totally different from French toast.
00:47It's usually just kind of melts in your mouth. This is totally different.
00:51It's good. Wow.
00:53All right, so we start out with a little croissant, French toast.
00:57I'm moving on to the main course.
00:59This is a Texas chili Johnny cake.
01:04So the pancake underneath it made a cornmeal.
01:07That's different. I've never tried that.
01:09Chili on top. Cheese.
01:11I've got to have a little hot sauce on top.
01:16Let's get in.
01:18I'm excited.
01:20This is a first ever.
01:23Who doesn't like chili for breakfast?
01:29That's fun.
01:31Johnny cake.
01:32It's got a cornmeal, so it's like having cornbread under it.
01:35Just perfect.
01:36Delicious.
01:37Okay, that was quite a brunch here at the Shawshin Luncheonette.
01:41Absolutely delicious food.
01:43A little full, but I'll call it maybe one meal for today.
01:46I think I'll try that.
01:48But anyway, the Shawshin Luncheonette in Andover is awesome.
01:51Remember one thing?
01:52They're closed on Mondays, and they also close at 1 o'clock.
01:55And here's a little secret.
01:56It is super affordable.
01:58Three of us ate for less than $50.
01:59So I don't know where else you're going to do that with such great food.
