00:01My name is Kim Hazel, and I'm the director of Dinosaur Barbarian.

00:06The idea for Dinosaur Barbarian was born as a joke at my lunch table.

00:10It's inspired by the 2D cartoons of the 80s and 80s fantasy illustration.

00:16When I was in college learning animation, sometimes if I just wanted to, like, feel pumped up,

00:20I would just, like, watch some cartoon theme songs. I've always just loved them.

00:23I love the energy.

00:25We're collaborating with the amazing composers, the Mondo Boys.

00:29They wrote an amazing melody, and it's super catchy,

00:32and I'd, like, sing it in the shower and stuff, so...

00:35The entire short is traditionally 2D animated,

00:38which means that every frame was drawn by an animator.

00:41It was very special because I got to work alongside animators

00:45who were in charge of characters that I grew up loving,

00:48and now they're animating my weird idea.
