00:01Hello, my name is Jacob Frey, I'm the director of the short film Going Home, and this is Take One.
00:09Yeah, so this is a movie slate that I actually built with my father when I was around five years old,
00:14and I sorted myself, painted it, and this actually was supposed to be a birdhouse at first,
00:21where even here I have the drawing on it on the back, but I was like, I don't want to build a birdhouse, I want to make a movie slate.
00:25I've been living in the United States now for five years.
00:30When I go home to visit my hometown, I slowly start to see change in the environment.
00:36Something feels off, and the more often I actually go home and visit family and friends, the more stuff changes.
00:44And the sad thing is that it's not just the set that changes in the environment, but it's also the people.
00:50I'm super thankful that my parents constantly supported me, starting as a kid.
00:56I mean, I've done my first animation test with them together, or they were staged as actors in my shorts.
01:03In the end, I made it to Disney from a small town in Germany, which blows my mind, and I get to work with all these talented people,
01:11and I would have never expected that that's possible.
01:16What's very unique about Short Circuit is that it can be any type of story.
01:19It could be funny, it could be sad. It's like such a broad spectrum.
01:23I think with this program, we're really capable of pushing the boundaries of what we've known so far.
01:30Thank you so much. I really hope you enjoy my short going home, and that's it.
01:34That's it.
