00:01Hi, I'm Ryan Green, and I'm the director of Crosswalk.
00:04What inspired me to make this short was, you know, endless times standing at a crosswalk sign.
00:11And every time I do, especially the times where there's just no traffic coming in either direction,
00:15and I'm still just standing there, and I wait and I wait and I wait,
00:18I picture my ancestors, like maybe those that came across the daunting Atlantic on a boat
00:24to check into Ellis Island, and I just picture them looking at me and saying,
00:27like, dude, what are you doing? Like, you're waiting for a sign to tell you to cross the street
00:31when you can see you can do it, and I just somehow feel ashamed.
00:37Like, look, it's just so annoying and red, and it's just sitting here telling me not to do things.
00:43I was actually fortunate enough to be able to do the 2D intro myself, animate it myself.
00:49People should not start running out into traffic.
00:52This is not an endorsement to just break the rules and run through the middle of the street,
00:56but I hope that people look at this piece and see it as the metaphor that it is.
01:03Thanks for coming to watch the short, and I really hope you enjoy it.
