00:00Hi, my name is Brian Scott,
00:01and I'm director of Elephant in the Room.
00:03The inspiration for Elephant in the Room
00:05came from an experience I had when I was a kid
00:07with my dad walking down the street,
00:08and I felt this breath of hot air on the back of my neck.
00:10And I turned around and found this little baby elephant
00:13just staring at me.
00:14I think it was in town for the circus,
00:15and I always thought, how cool would it be
00:17to take that elephant home with me?
00:21In the story, you have these three characters
00:23all living on a banana plantation,
00:25and they all sort of have their own wants.
00:27Characters that all sort of want something different
00:29and trying to find a way to resolve all of that
00:31by the end of the film.
00:33Visually, I think we were looking to carry the torch
00:36of things we started on Paper Man and Feast,
00:39and we wanted to find something that felt a little bit
00:41more pushed stylistically.
00:43I think we really found something that pushes
00:45that graphic design to look even further
00:48than we've done in the past.
00:50The chance to collaborate with these world-class artists
00:52was the best thing in the world for me.
00:55Every day was a pleasure just getting to come to work
00:57knowing that I was going to be able to sit down with someone
00:59that I admired and just really dive into the story
01:02that I wanted to tell.
01:03I wanted to tell
01:06Thank you very much for being told.
01:09Thank you very much for speaking.
01:11improving this world
01:13and experiencing things in a brief moment
01:14that it has been really fortunate enough to hear.
