00:44It's like the end of the summer tour promoting our new record Carver and we're here in Chicago

00:50and we're very glad to be here, you know, let's check it out.

00:53So this is Phil in the passenger seat, this is Noah, he probably drives the most if we're

00:58being honest and then Phil is probably second and then I'm, you know, me and Clayton and

01:01David, we all kind of split the drives.

01:04But yeah, these are the two up front boys most of the time.

02:23When you're on the road, things just don't work like they do at home.

02:26You're not relaxed.

02:28It's a mental thing.

02:29So sometimes you got to take these.

02:31And honestly, the last time I took these, I just felt horrible all day.

02:35I just felt bloated and I haven't taken them since.

02:38So I don't recommend these, but you know, whatever.

02:41What is the secret?

02:42The secret, I try to drink some dirty chai and then go browse in a store.

02:49Bookstores.

02:50Thrift stores.

02:51Something like that.

02:52Sweetwater.

02:53So yeah, driver has control of the aux cord at all times, you know.

02:56Sometimes we'll just raw dog it and not listen to anything.

02:59And we'll just talk.

03:00Yeah, in the past run, CarPlay wasn't working for like half the trip.

03:04At least for my old phone.

03:05Yeah, for those of us who have old phones with old lightning ports.

03:08Three hours of dead silence there.

03:11Honestly, it was pretty nice.

03:13Sometimes you need a little bit of quiet.

03:15Peace and quiet.

03:16You walk into a venue and they're already playing music when you get there during load-in.

03:19And you sound check, then you play the show, listen to all the other bands.

03:22And it's just constant noise.

03:24So like having a van where you can be quiet for a minute is sometimes pretty nice.

03:29We do play games every now and then.

03:30Yeah, we play some games.

03:32What's the name of the game that we play?

03:33Draft Pits.

03:34Draft Pits.

03:35Categorie kind of game.

03:36So let's say like favorite fast food restaurant.

03:39And somehow someone goes first.

03:42Like I think we just like come up with a number and whoever gets closest.

03:46Yeah.

03:47They get to pick first.

03:48And you get like three options.

03:50And once that option's picked when you go around in the circle, no one else can pick it.

03:54So like if I pick Taco Bell first, no one else can pick Taco Bell.

03:57That's it.

03:58And you're picking top five or whatever.

03:59And by the end of it, you're all just kind of like grasping at straws because everybody's

04:03chosen all the good places or whatever.

04:04Yeah.

04:05So we'll play that every now and then.

04:10We got our, this is probably my favorite smell as far as the trees go.

04:33This is where, this is where all the good stuff goes down.

04:35This is where all the sleeping happens and uh, yeah.

04:38We've all kind of got our spot.

04:41Usually these two are up there, but this whole area, the front two seats and this one are kind

04:47of revolving most of the time.

04:48I'm usually here.

04:50Uh, David's usually there and Clayton's usually in the back.

04:53So we've all kind of got our own little area, which is important.

04:56When you're on the road, you need to feel like you can have at least one spot that's

05:00sacred in your own.

05:01Yeah.

05:02So we've all got it.

05:03Yeah.

05:04And normally after a show, it starts with a debrief where two, most of the time Peyton

05:08and Clayton are sitting in the front seat and I'm kind of like sticking my head in

05:12between and we all talk for a while.

05:15And then at some point when the conversation starts to lull, Clayton will sneak back to

05:20his, to his little bar bench area.

05:24It is.

05:25Alright.

05:26So this is my bench.

05:27Um, I got three pillows over here right now.

05:30I think this is his nose pillow.

05:31I don't know who this is.

05:33This is my wolf blanket.

05:35Sick.

05:36Um, yeah.

05:37We just try to like get rest as much as we can, but also like I have to work from the

05:42road.

05:43All of us do at a lot of points.

05:45So you're sitting here with a laptop most of the time.

05:48This is some merch that we haven't dropped off to ship out yet.

05:52Um, and then we got the inverter down here, which is very important.

05:56We have to, uh, have power for everything.

05:59So we've got our inverter and we've got like extension cords going back there.

06:03We've got this thing up here.

06:05And then, uh, we got our air vents up here, which is very important.

06:08I put some art on mine.

06:09And then we've got this right here is a very important part of the van.

06:13You know, people come to shows and take Polaroids or whatever, and then they give them to us,

06:18which is cool.

06:19So we always try to throw those up there.

06:20This is an old ticket from some show.

06:22Um, so we just have little, little memories, you know, pretty nice.

06:30So that's, that's it for my bench.

06:31So this is, this is where I stay most of the time.

06:33Uh, this is my little setup over here.

06:36So I've got my bag down here running.

06:39So the inverter, we have this power cable that runs all the way back.

06:42So I've got my computer plugged in and then my phone will charge there.

06:47Got a little Opryland bag in here.

06:50This guy we found at a free bin and he's just come with us everywhere.

06:54He was in like this free bin at a vintage store and I just fell in love with him.

06:59And his batteries were dead.

07:00We changed the batteries and I don't even know if he, let's see if he works.

07:50And so we're thankful that the air works.

07:57So I taped that up because it, it'll freeze you out.

11:07This is Noah's tag from Beaver Island Music Festival in Portland.

11:11We went to Beaver Island, Michigan and, uh, the van Dutch took a ferry out to an island.

11:17It was awesome.

11:18And, uh, yeah, most of the rest of this stuff is kind of boring.

11:21Zesty sauce from Burger King and pour it in.

11:23Really just sauce.

11:24Meat sticks.

11:25Yeah, a lot of sauce.

11:26A lot of clothespins for some reason.

11:28And, yeah, that's that thing.

12:37And, we're so poor that we have to book a hotel room with two queen beds.

12:40And, Noah has to bring in an air mattress.

12:42So, we gotta sneak everybody in this time.

12:44So, uh, don't tell anybody.

12:46But, that's what we do.

12:47We got as many waters as we can possibly take from a venue as soon as we're done with the

12:52show.

12:53They're back here, and they're up front, and they're everywhere.

13:03We got an important part of the back.

13:06Uh, we got some blankets.

13:08But, you can, uh, you can get a shot of that.

13:16You play at a venue, and sometimes they don't want to give you any free drinks.

13:20Which, you know, whatever.

13:22But, we still gotta, you know, we still gotta have a little something to drink sometimes.

13:27So, we come out to the van, take a dip into the crate, and then we, you know, we're ready

13:31to play the show, and we have some fun.

13:33So, that's pretty much everything that's going on.

13:36Sometimes it leaks back here, which is great, because it gets all over your luggage and

13:40stuff.

13:41Mostly just your jackets.

13:42Yeah, mostly just my stuff, usually.

13:44And Noah's backpack has a USB on it.

13:46That's crazy.

13:47Did you know that?

13:48Yeah, that's a robot.

13:49Um, yeah.

13:50Oh, yeah.

13:51There's another camera here for security.

13:54We're a very secure band, you know, even though the stuff isn't hardwired.

13:58For a while, this was coming off, but now it's staying on.

14:10And you can see, we got a trailer here, and there's locks and everything, but sometimes

14:13those are easy to cut off and still get in.

14:18Protects the lock from anyone cutting it off and getting into your trailer.

14:21Because all of the important stuff is right there.

14:24And, uh, theft with touring artists is pretty rampant these days, so.
