00:00In a car wreck, you don't need an airbag, you just need a Buc-ee's cover.
00:03I've been watching Law & Order the entire tour.
00:05I've gotten through about five seasons.
00:07I've heard it's a pretty popular Gen Z show.
00:09There was a claw machine where everyone was a winner.
00:12And I wish they were all like that.
00:40Hey, I'm Chelsea.
00:42I'm Erin.
00:42We're in a band called Wilt.
00:44And right now we're at our Chicago stop for our tour with Taylor Egghorn at Lincoln Hall.
00:48Yep.
00:49This is Van Invaders.
00:50Bus Invaders.
00:51No, Van Invaders.
00:52Oh yeah, we don't have a bus.
00:53Someday.
00:54Someday.
00:55This is the fourth to last date of our tour.
00:57We've been on tour for over a month.
00:58Um, the van looks like we've been on tour for over a month.
01:02There's also nothing in it right now.
01:04I would say now is about as good as it's looked in a very long time.
01:07Yeah.
01:08It's been looking pretty bad.
01:11So, Dan, our drummer, does most of the driving.
01:14Um, the van is in his name.
01:16So, we like him to stay up here and be Big Papa at the front.
01:20Um, otherwise, Erin drives a good amount.
01:23So does Frankie, our bassist.
01:25And Val, our tour manager.
01:27Andy, um, drives when he's not doing something more important.
01:30Because he's really important.
01:31Andy does the night drives.
01:32He does the night drives, true.
01:33I think he's done every single, after a show, I think Andy's done every single drive.
01:37Yeah.
01:37Yeah, he has like three beers at the show and then just, okay.
01:41Yeah, maybe not that part.
01:41We don't drink and drive.
01:43We don't, we don't do anything and drive.
01:45The person who's driving is always sober.
01:46The person who's driving is always sober.
01:48Yeah, so usually the driver or the passenger is on aux.
01:52Um, we've been listening to a lot of like Elliot Smith and Heatmiser.
01:55There's been a lot of that.
01:56A lot of like classic albums.
01:58We've listened to a lot of the Beatles earlier on in the tour.
02:00Um, I don't drive, but whenever I'm up here, I usually put on, um, this artist called Suzy
02:06Clue right now.
02:07She only has three songs and I'm obsessed with all of them.
02:10What have you been listening to?
02:11Somehow we haven't like run out of albums yet.
02:13Yeah.
02:14Which is crazy because you'd think that driving 10,000 miles, you would run out of albums,
02:19but.
02:19We're not a podcast band.
02:20There's been a few repeats.
02:21I've noticed that Val's put on Pine Grove like three times now.
02:24Val's put on a lot of Pine Grove and Elliot Smith.
02:26We've also been listening to a couple of Audio Tree sessions, which is cool because we're
02:29here in Chicago right now.
02:30Huge, huge shout out to Audio Tree.
02:32Yeah.
02:32So first thing we have here, um, our wonderful fan Sierra, who runs our fan page, made us a
02:38Buc-ee's gift basket that I have back here and I'll show you in a second, but this is
02:42my favorite thing in the gift basket.
02:43There's these little, there's one in your thing too.
02:46Um, a little like, yeah, it keeps us safe, um, in a car wreck.
02:49You don't need an airbag.
02:50You just need a Buc-ee's cover.
02:53Um, going up here, we have a Wilt hat.
02:56This is for whoever's in the front.
02:57If the sun's in their eyes, um, this is the hat they put on if their hat is not accessible.
03:02And then we have some duct tape.
03:04You never know when you're going to need duct tape.
03:06This is a little, um, like, shark grabby thing that a fan brought me and it's definitely
03:11like my fidget toy and it makes a super annoying sound, which I really like.
03:15Um, we have this TV man.
03:18Okay, so this is funny.
03:19So Angie tried to get like one of those mystery boxes and it was a skibbity toilet mystery
03:23box, which I don't even know what that means, honestly.
03:26And we thought we were going to get something funny, but it was just this TV person.
03:30Um, and it doesn't stand up in the car, so it just like sits, like, over there.
03:34It's like a radio head.
03:35It does kind of look like radio head.
03:36And we do love radio head.
03:37It makes me think of radio head.
03:37Um, let's see.
03:38Over here, we have some masks.
03:40I like to mask up when I'm sleeping and in the car so that the air doesn't, like, dry
03:44out my lungs.
03:45Oh yeah, this is a fun one.
03:46We just got this at the world's largest truck stop, um, on Iowa 80.
03:50It says, born to fish, forced to work.
03:52And the work is music.
03:53Um, we are forced to make music.
03:55We'd rather I'll be fishing.
03:56None of us fish, by the way.
03:57Um, we have some ducks up here.
04:00These are from Buffalo, New York.
04:02We went and got buffalo wings with the Taylor Acorns crew.
04:04And there was a claw machine where everyone was a winner.
04:07And I wish they were all like that, because I've spent a lot of money on this tour and
04:10not gotten as many stuffed animals as I should have.
04:13But we have some ducks up here.
04:15This one's like a little bat guy for Halloween.
04:17Another skull, because we were on tour during Halloween.
04:20Um, over here, we went to Niagara Falls.
04:22We played our first ever Canada show.
04:24So this is from Niagara Falls.
04:26And this is a little bear that was supposed to be scented from Massachusetts, but it's
04:29not scented.
04:30And we like to just, like, place them in doggies.
04:32And they're having some fun.
04:34Um, some black ice.
04:35This is from at the beginning of the tour.
04:36It smells like nothing now.
04:38What's over here?
04:39Just sunglasses.
04:39Yeah, I think, like, some glasses.
04:42Here, I'll show you my really cool ones.
04:44They're 2006 Dior.
04:46And I feel really fancy when I wear them.
04:49Over here, we have some bracelets that fans made us.
04:53We have some, um, sunscreen.
04:55Aaron likes to wear this because he doesn't want to age when he's driving.
04:58He's really scared of aging.
05:00He's like Peter Pan.
05:02Um, we have some miscellaneous gum.
05:06This is, okay, this is actually the biggest, biggest recommendation.
05:09I can have for anyone that's going on tour or just doing a road trip.
05:13This is, like, a car inverter.
05:17Pissfowl.
05:17It's called Pissfowl.
05:19Um, and it goes in here.
05:20And we charge our computers.
05:22And also, I do my hair with this.
05:23It just turns on like this.
05:25And it's super helpful.
05:26Super helpful.
05:26Super helpful because everyone likes to do their work while we're driving.
05:29Oh, yeah.
05:30What is this from?
05:31Is this from?
05:31What city?
05:32Is this from Allentown?
05:33We go to Empanada in Pittsburgh.
05:34Pittsburgh.
05:35Yeah, because Pittsburgh's known for their empanadas.
05:37Yeah.
05:37It has a little mustache.
05:38So, I love pierogies too, but this, this was actually an empanada.
05:42And that was a good catch because...
05:43Do we have a name for him?
05:44No.
05:46Um.
05:47What should we name this?
05:49Let's let, let's let the comments decide.
05:51Yeah.
05:51The name of our empanada.
05:52Shout out the name of the empanada.
05:53Yeah.
05:54This is mostly my shit over here.
05:55We have some hairspray that I haven't used at all, but I lost the cap to.
05:59This was from Denver, except I don't think it actually made any difference.
06:01But, you know.
06:04Ooh.
06:04This is from Jacksonville.
06:06Unfortunately, our show in Jacksonville got canceled, so we got to go to the beach.
06:10I've never been to Florida before, but I collected all these shells.
06:13Um, they're pretty sandy.
06:15I'll show you my favorite one.
06:16It's this, um, little red scallop shell.
06:20The tiniest little baby scallop shell.
06:22Um, in, we're from LA, and in the beaches in LA, there's not really, like, full shells.
06:26So, this was very exciting for me.
06:28We also have a cliff bar.
06:30Looks like a reusable bag of some sorts.
06:33Oh, hell yeah.
06:33This is my head massager that's gone a little messed up, but I think I've used once.
06:39Um, it has been falling out a lot.
06:42And then we have, um, a smell-proof bag for, you know, and another black ice tree that will
06:49not get used because we are done with tour in five days.
06:51Now we're here with Dan, our drummer, and Andy, our other guitarist.
06:56Dan, you want to take it away with, um, this seatback organizer that I bought?
07:01Yeah, Chelsea, uh, made a great decision of buying both of these seatback organizers, um,
07:07and, yeah, this is actually a really new organizational, uh, addition.
07:13Um, yeah, our bass player, Frankie, he, um, he, he got a lot of taco pounds.
07:19So, so many taco pounds.
07:20They basically cleaned out a Taco Bell.
07:22Yeah.
07:22Um, all their sauces.
07:24Like, yeah, he came out with a bag.
07:25We thought it was his food, but it was all sauce.
07:27It was, like, literally two pounds.
07:29So, yeah, you know, but you'll use a lot of them.
07:31Only with Mild and Fire, though, so.
07:33Yeah, there's some pot in there.
07:34There's some pot?
07:34There's some pot.
07:35Okay.
07:35It's because I use all the Diablo.
07:37I take all the Diablo sauce, so.
07:39Yeah, with his boy's slop, which we'll get to.
07:41Oh, yeah.
07:41Oh, we'll get to that.
07:42Um, this is a big, uh, a big thing for Chelsea.
07:46My favorite Buc-ee's snack.
07:47Yes.
07:48They have the best banana taffy.
07:49Um, oh, my goodness.
07:51A lot of these, like, tamarind snacks that I haven't eaten one of.
07:54I think those are Frankie's.
07:55No, they're mine.
07:56They're yours?
07:57I haven't seen him eat a single one this whole time.
07:59There's, like, 20 in there.
08:00Yeah, yeah, they're good.
08:01They're good.
08:02What else you got?
08:03Um, a water bottle, because, yeah, of course.
08:05What's in here?
08:07I picked some stuff up off the floor.
08:09Oh, yeah.
08:09To put in these things.
08:11Okay, these are great.
08:12This is, uh, Sierra's cat.
08:15Um, within our, like, hair package.
08:18Right here.
08:18Um, she threw in all these pictures of her cat.
08:21I didn't see that.
08:22Very cute, yeah.
08:24Little tabby.
08:25Yeah.
08:25Sierra got us this fin, um, this package of all these Buc-ee's things, which is so awesome.
08:29We got some beaver nuggets.
08:30I love these dill pickle potato sticks.
08:32She works at Bath & Body Works.
08:34We got a bunch of Bath & Body Works stuff, which is awesome.
08:36Um, super nice.
08:37Got us some gift cards and some awesome bracelets.
08:40Some gummies that we ate.
08:41Wait, let me hit that.
08:42The gummies?
08:43Yeah, the gummies.
08:44Yeah, you can finish those.
08:45Sierra's the one that runs our fan page.
08:47Yes.
08:47And she's the best.
08:48And also this fidget toy that I really like, but I haven't used yet.
08:51But, yeah, so this is where I usually sit.
08:54Um, in here we have, like, a bunch of lighters, because there's three smokers in the band.
08:59Um, my favorite ones that I'll show you, we have this Where the Hell Have You Been Loka,
09:04um, lighter that I got in Nashville, I think.
09:07I had an Edward one, too, that had, like, this is the skin of the killer, Bella.
09:11Um, but I lost it.
09:13And then we have just, like, a bunch of other, like, various lighters.
09:16And also some pimple patches, because your girl gets pimply with the different climates.
09:21We have this bag of babies, um, that Sierra also got us, of all different colors.
09:26Super nice.
09:27We have some, um, generic brand Dayquil.
09:31A fan, I get real sweaty.
09:33Um, this is from a dispensary in Buffalo.
09:36They gave me some freebies.
09:37This is also from a dispensary in Buffalo.
09:40This is the most important thing.
09:41This is the most important thing.
09:42Yeah, that's the most important thing.
09:43And you'll hear me ask, where's my pen, about, like, ten times an hour.
09:48Wait, there's an important thing I wanted to mention.
09:50You asked about, like, how we pass time in the car, like, what we listen to.
09:53What show have you been watching the entire tour?
09:56I've been watching Law & Order the entire tour.
09:59I've gotten through about five seasons.
10:01I've heard it's a pretty popular, like, Gen Z show.
10:03Law & Order, SVU.
10:05They make fun of me, because I don't think any other people, like, of my age range.
10:07Yeah, like, who's watching Law & Order?
10:09Law & Order, dude.
10:10I think people watch Law & Order.
10:11It's a great show.
10:12Anyways, moving on.
10:13We have some Tresemme heat protectant that I haven't used once, but it has spilled all
10:17over the car multiple times.
10:19There was some Smooth Moob tea in here, but we used all of it.
10:23But now there's Nighty Night Extra.
10:25Nighty Night Extra.
10:26That's helpful.
10:27I also have some throat coat somewhere in here, and then just some more hair products that
10:30I have not used.
10:33Wait, what about you?
10:34Yeah.
10:34Oh, well, I'll take it away.
10:37This bad boy, if you can see it, I got really because I knew it would be convenient for Chelsea.
10:43I think we're in the middle of nowhere, like El Paso, Texas, and it is a beautiful little
10:47cowboy boot.
10:48It's got Texas right on there, and it holds a lighter.
10:51Boot lighter!
10:52So, whenever we can't find one of our, like, one million lighters, we have the boot lighter
10:55as a last resort.
10:57It's pretty shitty.
10:58Yeah, but it gets the job done.
11:00To bring it on back to the place where I spend a lot of time, I will say...
11:05What do you call that?
11:06Dan.
11:07Oh, yeah.
11:07This I named the bitch seat.
11:09Because it doesn't recline.
11:11Yeah.
11:11Because if you do recline, you're in the other person's lap.
11:13You can't recline.
11:14You don't get a cup holder.
11:16I have, like, a big laptop that I edit on, and it's not even...
11:20It's too wide to fit between the door.
11:22So, all I can do is play Minecraft on the iPad.
11:25A lot of Minecraft goes on in this van.
11:27Like, a lot of Minecraft.
11:29Coming on back here, I have to commend Dan.
11:33If this was filled up and organized, it would all be his responsibility.
11:37It does the best job packing.
11:39But I spend a lot of time back where Aaron's sitting right now, editing videos and working
11:45my day job.
11:46And if I'm napping, I'm only going to have my Lucky's headrest, for sure.
11:50It's quite stiff right now.
11:51And, yeah, something we noticed about the memory foam headrest is when it's really cold,
11:55like it is now in Chicago, they just get rock solid.
11:58They're going to rock hard.
12:01So, you know, you've got to kind of warm them up a little bit.
12:04We have a lot of good stuff back here, good lore stuff.
12:08We've been taking this acoustic guitar around the last 10,000 miles and playing our very
12:14overplayed Bite My Tongue riff on it.
12:17Just filming in about every location that we can.
12:19Either Aaron or I will hop out in a swamp, in a snowy field, wherever is vibey.
12:25Ooh, car crash.
12:26Yeah, car crash.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Well, we didn't do any car crashes, but we did drive past about 20 or 30 yesterday because
12:33we drove through a blizzard to get to Chicago.
12:35It was crazy.
12:37And then, Aaron, you care to explain this bad boy?
12:39Yeah, so usually I'll throw this in the van when we're all packed, like leaving for a tour.
12:44As the door is shutting, I'll just be like, put this in here so I can hopefully twist an
12:49ankle or something.
12:51But this helps me get around.
12:53I remember one time we all stopped at Dairy Queen and I didn't want to get Dairy Queen.
12:57Sonic.
12:58There, oh, Sonic, yeah.
12:59Even worse.
13:00There was a subway like half a mile away through a bunch of parking lots and I just booked
13:04it on this thing, so pretty helpful.
13:06Shout out Carver and Kai Lenny, I guess, because it's his signature board.
13:11We all have our various stims when the van stops, so I would say Aaron's is definitely
13:16hopping on the Carver and like laughing around the parking lot.
13:19You jump rope.
13:19I like to jump rope to pass the time.
13:21I don't have it in here right now.
13:23I would say Chelsea's always getting matcha.
13:26I've been making gas station matchas.
13:28Yeah, that's been really cool.
13:29Yeah, I've been bringing my own matcha powder and my, I think it's called chasen, like the
13:33matcha whisk, and I've been making it at the gas stations with coconut water and their
13:37coffee thing.
13:38And unfortunately, all of my matcha powder spilled in the hotel room today, so it's not
13:41in here.
13:42Yeah.
13:42And then when we stop, Dan, uh, Dan is like being responsible, getting gas or like making
13:49a little like a boy meal, oatmeal or something like that.
13:52Yeah, I want to talk about the boy meals.
13:54Yeah, I think this is a good.
13:55There's a food bag right here.
13:57Yeah.
13:57We have most of the food bags in the hotels, but I think this is a little like insight
14:01into the, uh, the boy meal experience.
14:03So, um, I've been banned from eating tuna in the car.
14:07Um, but when I, when I do, um, I like to, I got this teriyaki sauce and just put it
14:12straight
14:12in the can.
14:13And, um, it's a great way to, uh, you know, keep the macros on tour.
14:17Also great with tuna is this, uh, jalapeno Tabasco that I stole from a Chipotle in New York.
14:22It goes a long way.
14:24And then also I've realized on this tour, you really never need to pay for coffee because
14:27every gas station has like a hot water joint and I just fill up my mug and put some instant
14:31coffee in there.
14:33Um, but we're all like big fans or everyone except for Chelsea.
14:37Actually, our tour manager Val doesn't do it either.
14:40It's boy slop.
14:41It's for boys.
14:41We, we have an assortment of like groceries and stuff.
14:44That's like ridiculously easy to make, uh, that when we don't feel like spending money,
14:48um, and you know, we were all various degrees of nutrition filled on like protein and stuff.
14:55So it helps us do that.
14:57Yeah, definitely.
14:58Definitely rice, uh, canned chicken.
15:00Yeah, what's your usual boy slop go to?
15:02Well, so like typically what I'll do is I'll get some kind of rice, like the easiest ones
15:08in the hotel rooms are like the, the packets where you tear a little bit, you know, a minute
15:12and a half in, um, that with like a protein on top.
15:16And then, you know, if you have it, some kind of like vegetable or leaf of some kind, you
15:24know, you got it, you got to keep it balanced.
15:26Um, but yeah, I, I feel like the, the, the starch plus protein combo and just however you
15:31go.
15:32Frankie likes spam.
15:34None of us eat spam except for Frankie.
15:36Um, but yeah, canned chicken and canned tuna.
15:40It smells so fucking bad.
15:42It smells so bad.
15:43Andy does a lot of things in this van, um, but specifically the tuna is the worst.
15:49However, we actually found out recently that there is a snack that we all like that makes
15:53the van smell really good and it's cucumbers.
15:56We all just be eating like plain cucumbers and it makes the van smell like a spa.
16:00I'll say this, like, um, you know, we've all heard of hot boxing, but something that
16:05I've introduced to this band is like, you just take whatever word is going to smell like
16:08the van and it's like fry boxing.
16:10No one likes a fry box.
16:11No one likes a tuna box, but so far, cucumber boxing, cucumber boxing has been awesome because
16:17I'll just like smell it and I'll look back at Andrew and he's got like a, just chomping
16:21on it.
16:22So good.
16:23It smells like a spa in here.
16:24Yeah.
16:24I will say, I think the worst box is probably the jerky box.
16:28No, no, it's, it's the canned chicken box.
16:30I don't know, dude.
16:31The jerky's pretty bad.
16:32Yeah.
16:32It's the canned chicken box.
16:34It's pretty bad.
