00:00Bucky's underwear. This is a good one. I bought one pair for me, one pair for the

00:05girlfriend and I use mouth tape so I look like a sort of zombie when I'm

00:08sleeping. You can only have a wee. Number two's completely off the cards.

00:43Well, hello there. Come on in. What's up? You've come to our bus.

00:48Oui, voila. I'm Gus. My mate Luke's inside. This is the Magic Word Tour and we are in

00:54Chicago. We are actually touring in a Pullman Coach this year and we've got a

00:59hell of a lot to show you. Had a lot of different things going on and let's

01:02start with the dual TVs. I actually don't really use these much but the gang has

01:09their little Mario Kart situation and honestly they're gaming after every show.

01:14It's a massively competitive thing. I hear screams that wake me up in the middle of

01:18the night when someone gets screwed on a lap but it's great fun because some

01:22people sit here, some people sit here and if anyone gets in the way they're done.

01:26Okay, so cubbies. One of the best things about the Pullmans is everyone's got their

01:31own cubby. So normally it's a complete mess. Shoes are everywhere, food's everywhere but

01:36for instance, this is my little cubby. We've got some sort of pills and all the stuff I

01:43use to stay healthy. I've got an extra pair of shoes. I've got white hats. I use a new

01:46white hat every single night and then this is a bunch of stuff. Oh, this is a fun one.

01:52Bucky's underwear. This is a good one. I bought one pair for me, one pair for the

01:57girlfriend and this is a classic. So anyway, that's the cubbies. What else have

02:04we got here? Oh yes, please come over here. This is amazing. At shows, the

02:10magicians, who are our fans, they rock up with gifts and stuff. So we've got one of

02:14these. Hat, very fashionable. Top drawer. Actually, this is one of my favorite things.

02:20I got given this card and it was on my birthday. We played Atlanta and all the

02:25VIPs wrote on the card and they gave it to me in real time and someone was cutting

02:30onions because it was adorable. Okay, so back here we got one massive cubby and what we

02:37tried to do is stay really organized so everyone's in their own but people have

02:41extra backpacks, people have extra headphones. I actually have our production

02:44backpack on the road because we're making our fifth album right now and so

02:47after shows we're making ideas. Kind of all goes here so this is a free-for-all

02:51after the show everyone's running to try and take the best spot. But yeah, it's

02:55actually great storage and we don't really run out of storage on this thing so

02:59it's super, super, super efficient. So this is kind of a bit of everything.

03:04We've got Sam, our videographer, who will often be editing right after the show. We have a

03:09segment where we speak to the magicians who have dressed up for the show, gave

03:13their stories about where they've come from. This is quite fun. So Luke, we have

03:17a discord. The magicians have an amazing discord server where everyone kind of

03:21chats and hangs out when we're not on tour and also when we're on tour and he

03:24mentioned that we were getting bored on the bus. So a magician rocked up and

03:28bought us all these games. So now we play games at night and the last thing that

03:33happens on this is a little production workstation. Just get the headphones on,

03:37everyone's gaming over there. I'm just trying to lock in here and just making

03:40ideas after the show when I'm feeling inspired. I actually think it's one of

03:43the best times to make ideas because you've just chatted with people who have

03:46listened to music in real life and have that energy. So you kind of want to

03:49recreate that and make some songs. Number one pet peeve for me on tour is

03:53someone getting sick. If someone gets sick and they take the bus down, no, no.

03:57That's a no-no for us. So everyone's on immunity booster stuff, vitamin C's,

04:03got the air purifier just for that so that this stuff always stays relatively fresh.

04:08I've even got a humidifier in my bunk to stay super, super fresh. And yeah, we're

04:12super, super obsessed with keeping everything clean and healthy and staying fit.

04:17Okay, tiny kitchenette. Most crucial thing here by a mile is the kettle. Everyone has a

04:21cup of tea at night pretty much. We have chamomile or if you're psycho like me have a

04:25little bit more caffeine at night, just why not? I can go to sleep right after a cup of tea.

04:29And then Colin, our tour manager, he has toast after shows and in the morning. And

04:34the great thing about toast is it smells fucking fantastic. And basically the

04:38whole bus smells of toast. So I mean, what's not to love about that? It's

04:41actually brilliant. This is a communal snack cabinet. So what the great thing is

04:46about riders is there's often a lot of stuff that doesn't get eaten. So it goes in

04:50here, we've got Pringles in here, we've got Bucky's white cheddar puffs in here. Bucky's is

04:55the best thing since sliced bread. I can't believe this place doesn't exist all over

04:58the planet. It is literally a gas station for anyone that doesn't know it, any Europeans

05:02tuning in, it is a gas station, a petrol station that has every single snack you

05:07can possibly imagine with the best barbecue I've ever tasted. I will never stop

05:10seeing his praises. I have hats, I have everything you can imagine for Bucky's.

05:14But yeah, this is everything we got. And there's actually another one right here. And

05:18it's just more healthy. Teas, honeys, all that sort of stuff to stay, to stay illness

05:24free. Okay, so the stuff on the rider that really actually gets consumed and doesn't

05:28make it to the bus, every energy drink. The crew goes through Red Bulls like I've

05:33never seen anyone ever. I'm always trying to get them to have less caffeine, but with

05:38all these load ins and like all the time it takes to get ready and work throughout

05:42the day, sometimes we're putting in 11, 12 hours back to back, people need their

05:45energy. So no Red Bulls make it back to the bus. But the other thing that does get

05:49eaten is like if we have sandwiches or like in-house catering, like we'll eat

05:54that because we'll probably eat like two to three times while in the venue. So

05:58that stuff doesn't make it, but normally the chips, the crisps, I'll say chips for

06:02this, they make it. So we basically have a ton of crisps in there. Alright, this on

06:07the Pullman is fucking next level. We were on a bus in Europe earlier this year on

06:13the first leg of this Headline Tour and we had a fridge, but it was not this big.

06:17Check the size of this fridge. Look at that. I mean, it is so deep. It's actually

06:23crazy. You can fit so much in here. We just had a clear out, so that's why it's

06:28actually got some sort of organization. But again, got protein drinks, got my

06:32lemons. That's one of the things I always put on the rider. We've got some healthy

06:36yogurts, some oat milk, nothing too crazy, honestly. And then when people get

06:41takeaways, they'll often make it to the fridge. Freezer might not have much right

06:45now. Let's see. Okay, this is Brian's. This is our LDs. He loves his Hot Pockets

06:50after a show. We'll pop that in. And this is actually mine. This is a cheat code.

06:53This tastes like the best ice cream you've ever had, but it's yogurt based and it's

06:57100 calories. What's not to love? So the thing is with these is your one trade-off

07:02being here is you should sort of be last to go to sleep because you get a bit more

07:05noise pollution. You're kind of like close to a bit more movement on the bus.

07:10So here are the people that go to bed slightly later than everyone else.

07:14So if they're rocking, you know, they're working, they're doing their thing, they go

07:17to bed at like 2, 3 a.m. They don't disturb us back there and they have the ability

07:21to just exist here and like, you know, just live their life. We've got March Girl,

07:27we've got Videographer and we've got TM, Colin. So yeah, it's a good, it's a good

07:33time. So this is the six bunks together. We've got me on the bottom. We've got

07:39Brandon, our guitar tech in the middle. We've got, who's on top? Oh, Jared, our

07:43drummer is up top. And then we got Brian up top the other side. He's our LD. We've

07:48got Luke, who's my bandmate here. And then we've got Jaycon, who's our playback tech

07:53down the bottom. I love the bottom bunk for the reason that I feel like it's

07:58slightly less wavy. Like the bus, when it goes like that, you don't feel it as

08:02much. And I just like being down there and not having to jump up to my bunk,

08:07honestly. Um, and then the other thing that is unique, I mentioned earlier, I

08:11have a, um, humidifier in my bunk at all times when I'm sleeping and I use mouth

08:17tape. So I look like a sort of zombie when I'm sleeping, breathing in this like air

08:21up my nostrils and having the mouth tape, but it's really good for my voice.

08:25It's one of the only things that helps me keep my voice on tour because we just

08:28had a three in a row. And on the third show of the three in a row, my voice felt

08:32the best it felt. And I really, really recommend anyone humidifier plus mouth

08:36tape. Great, great combo. I am reading the book, but it's sort of funny because

08:41everyone takes the piss out of me because, um, yeah, the power of habit, how to

08:45unlock the secret language of connection. I'm obsessed with self-help books. I'm

08:49obsessed with like optimization, like methodology and just like building

08:53businesses. So the fact that we're like, we're building this independent band in

08:57Voila is, uh, I always find a reason for a self-help book. So, uh, yeah, obsessed

09:02with that. Okay. Welcome in. Okay. This is next level. So as you know, on a tour bus,

09:09you can only have a week. Number two's completely off the cards, but normally the

09:14shower doesn't really work. We have a fully functional shower here. We do have to

09:19take short showers, but it's a really good shower. It's got pressure. Like we

09:24haven't really run out of water much because Josh, our driver fills it up all

09:27the time. It's brilliant. And I literally can recommend this more because like

09:31after you're sweaty, after a show, if you don't have time to like have a shower or

09:34some of the crew are working loadout, it's amazing because you can just have a

09:37quick shower, feel fresh, go to bed and not have the thing where like everyone's

09:41queuing for a shower. It's brilliant. Um, we've also got a bit more storage over

09:45here. I've got, this is my, uh, this is my, my cheat storage. I've got these, uh,

09:51protein crisps and, uh, they didn't fit in my personal cubby. So I was looking

09:56around the bus late one night and I was like, Hmm, where can I put these? And I

09:59found these don't tell anyone. Thanks so much for being here on our little bus tour
