00:00Throughout the course of this tour it has inspired me to maybe step up the
00:03douchebaggery a little bit. I like to have my head facing forward. Do not take
00:07this advice if you're touring that is not safe.
00:35Yo, we're super sometimes. Welcome to our bus invaders. We are currently on tour with
00:40Arms Lang supporting their headline for their album that came out. Oh, there's a whole world
00:44out there. We are playing with Callis Dowboys and Harrison Gordon. We are the first of four
00:49on this bill. So let's check out our rig. Let's see how we get across the U.S. in this
00:54thing.
00:54Welcome to Motel Benz. Motel Benz. Motel Benz. Welcome to the two captain seats. We got the
01:01co-pilot and pilot right here where all the driving gets done. Music gets played very loud
01:06and we drive to city city as safe as we can. Definitely try to keep a co-pilot here as
01:12much
01:12as we can just so if a homeboy over here gets tired he can stay awake. No, co-pilot is
01:19a
01:19big no-no. Yes. Me and Gabe are the main drivers in the van I would say we take the
01:24most. Gabe
01:24definitely is number one but I think I come as a close second. So there's always one of
01:30us up here and then usually it's us two but if not somebody else will sub in and even at
01:35the long night drives where we go into like three or four in the morning it's not just the
01:40driver who has to get fucked and stay up super late. It's both of you guys have to stay there.
01:45Sometimes you'll be driving with somebody completely nodding off in the seat but like it's not allowed
01:50to not have somebody up here with you while you're driving at night because we don't want
01:54to die. Can't lie it's it's happened a couple times you know like no co-pilot but we try to
02:00keep a co-pilot but moving on the tunes normally driver picks we've been bumping a lot of knuckle
02:07punk a lot of stories so far the starting line. Very punk punk very true to exactly what you think
02:14we would be listening to is what's going on in here except for the exception being Josh who's a big
02:21hardcore
02:21big metalcore guy. So Josh do you want to scream from the back what you're bumping?
02:26I'm listening to the new Division of Mine record. I've been listening to Irate kind of going back
02:32and looking at listening to some of the classics that I haven't tapped in with. I'm listening to Coldest
02:38Life, Born to Land Hard. What else? When all this fails I just throw on Misery Signals that's my
02:44favorite band of all time. Educating us putting us on putting us on the things that we need.
02:49Real ones now. But aside from we'll shout out a few more bands I think Stateside from back home,
02:54Auto Ignition just dropped an EP they've been on rotation pretty heavily, In Balance from Bakersfield,
03:00In San Diego, and then definitely like pop punk go to like Gabe said, Knufflepuck, State Champs,
03:08Story So Far, Real Friends, Green Day, freaking Blink, Neck Deep, for me starting line like all the drive-thru
03:15stuff
03:16is usually in there. Pierce the Veil, hometown, they're not pop punk but it's our hometown legend so we gotta
03:22bump that.
03:22On the late night drives, you got the Beatles, a little bit of George Harrison, you know.
03:27A little bit of the Wings, the Oasis, the Police, the Oasis, yes.
03:33Police is also a good one.
03:35Moving on to the second zone of the Super Sometimes bus.
03:40But the most important. Sorry.
03:42The most important. I have to really stress.
03:43We have the lounge slash bench seat.
03:49As you know, we have Call of Duty in the van.
03:52Running some Black Ops 3 on the Xbox One.
03:54This is some very elite technology for a band of our size.
03:58I think a lot of people at our stage don't get this luxury.
04:02Shout out Gabe's dad, Ricky, who kitted us up with a generator.
04:07Anchor. Shout out Anchor Power Supply.
04:09Shout out.
04:09Sponsor us.
04:10It's a box, you know.
04:12They provide power.
04:13Shout out Ricky Munoz.
04:15He did a lot of these impulsory up here.
04:17Did a lot of the lights.
04:18Ran a lot of the cabling for what we will go back over there and discuss.
04:23But we got the bench seat where we have Call of Duty.
04:25You know, keep long drives.
04:27Feel like it was two hours.
04:29Yeah.
04:30We got the Xbox in the middle right there.
04:32If you see the controller, they're in a game literally right now as we speak.
04:3668 and 5 by the way.
04:3768 and 5.
04:38Holy.
04:39Holy.
04:40We have storage up here.
04:42We have a little bit of snacks up here.
04:46We have tubs of cookies that got absolutely destroyed.
04:50We love a good cookie.
04:52We're not scared to take baked goods.
04:54We trust you.
04:55If we die, it's your fault.
04:56And everybody will know it's your fault because we post when we get baked goods to protect ourselves.
05:02Moving on to the second level, we got the little hallway right here where we have shoe racks that are
05:08all taken up by amazing Crocs and doing what they're supposed to.
05:11So we have a trash can back here.
05:13It's a little bit full that we have to, you know, swap out.
05:17Yeah.
05:17But we keep all of our shoes in here and all of the hats.
05:20Try to keep this area clean so we can walk always.
05:22And if you get a little bored of sitting down, you can stand up.
05:27A lot of bands don't have bands where you can stand up and we're fortunate enough to have a band
05:34where you can stand up in.
05:35I'm 6'3", and I can stand in here without touching the roof.
05:38It's pretty revolutionary.
05:40Sometimes you get a little bored, so you want to just play right here, chill right here.
05:44It's very nice being able to stand up.
05:45As you've seen from the front to the back so far, pause.
05:48We're a band who takes pride in keeping it very clean.
05:52It's not the best right now because we are four days out from being on tour, but you will see
05:57other bands' bands where there's shit on the floor literally everywhere.
06:01Keep it clean.
06:01If you look down here, we got some very convenient...
06:05Dustbusters.
06:06Yeah, we got the Dustbusters.
06:07It's alive right now.
06:09We use it to vacuum.
06:10We have a jumper cable just in case something happens.
06:12Really, essentials just think so.
06:14We don't die.
06:15Check this out.
06:16Check this out.
06:16Check this out.
06:17Back here, we have liquid IVs.
06:20We have Mucinex.
06:22We have...
06:24Whatever.
06:25Jimmy bars.
06:26Jimmy bars.
06:26We keep it stacked.
06:27And over here at the very end...
06:29This is essential right here.
06:31This is essential.
06:32We have paper towels.
06:33Toilet paper.
06:34What...
06:35What do you guys know?
06:36Sometimes the Love's restroom stops can get very devious so you have baby wipes on deck at all times.
06:43You have trash bags.
06:45The list goes on.
06:45We have paper cups, forks, spoons, napkins.
06:49Sports.
06:49Everything you need.
06:51Toothbrushes.
06:52Toothpastes.
06:52Yes.
06:53Just stackable.
06:53We like to bring people when we're on tour to ride with us in the van if possible.
06:59Last tour was State Champs in Stateside.
07:01We took Lemus.
07:02And he came on a ride with us from city to city.
07:05And he brought no toiletries.
07:07And he was completely fine because we were strapped with toothbrush, toothpaste.
07:13He could give himself a baby wipe shower.
07:15Which I don't recommend doing.
07:17But it is something that you are able to do if you're traveling air sometimes.
07:22Hotel bands.
07:23Yes.
07:23Keep yourself strapped.
07:24You need it.
07:25It's essentials.
07:26Carry those essentials.
07:26It's like having things in your house.
07:28Because this is our house.
07:29Welcome to our house.
07:30We are now going to be making our way to the sleeping quarters.
07:34Zone three.
07:34Zone three.
07:35Or let's call it zone, uh, yeah.
07:37Zone three out of four.
07:39So this is going to be where all of us sleep.
07:42Um, people were very surprised when they hop in our van to see that we have six bunks
07:47right here to be able to sleep, uh, up to six people.
07:50There's only five of us on this tour, but in theory we could have six.
07:53This is Gabe's bunk right here.
07:55Check this out.
07:56I have a board that straddles the middle and I will put these two together, sleep sideways.
08:02So this will make like the master, the master bedroom.
08:06They try to throw me up top thinking I would fall off, but instead I...
08:10Improvise, adapt and overcome.
08:12This is a Ricky innovation right here.
08:13Obviously you can see the slots on the board so that they will hang over these two little
08:18borders to create the master suite.
08:21Um, down here we got some curtains.
08:22And if you actually want to look in here, we got a very special someone taking a nap.
08:27Ooh.
08:27Good morning.
08:30Yo, good morning.
08:32How are you?
08:33Good.
08:34Go back to bed, bro.
08:35So we got our bunks right here.
08:37I'm a little too tall for...
08:39Usually I like to have my head facing the back, but I'm a little too tall right now.
08:45So I like to have my head facing forward.
08:47Do not take this advice if you're touring that is not safe.
08:51We got little pockets up here.
08:54Sometimes I like to throw camera lenses in here, my phone, spare batteries.
08:59And sometimes I throw some hoodies on.
09:02Got toiletries right here.
09:04Can't go wrong with that.
09:06And yeah, just chill.
09:08Everything is able to be stored.
09:09Everybody's very well accommodated.
09:11We have all pouches on every floor of Motel Bend so you can store all your goodies.
09:16Everybody has random shit in all of theirs.
09:18Obviously there's these front facing ones that are reserved for typically like our shoes
09:21and stuff.
09:22And then inside, like Tommy said, there's one of these in each one.
09:26So everybody has an assortment of bullshit in there.
09:28This is like the communal one right now.
09:32We got some vinyls in there.
09:34Some records for pickups we can take a look at really quick.
09:38This would be me, Silverstein.
09:40I am alive in everything I touch.
09:42Shout out Silverstein.
09:43Very underrated record.
09:44A big pause.
09:46Shout out Bond Zipper, our sunglass sponsor.
09:48Those definitely stay with us.
09:49Let me shout out mine real quick.
09:51Some other assortments.
09:52We got a little light to read books with in the dark.
09:56Shout out Blink 182 from San Diego.
09:58Yes.
10:00Waggy, Rectum, and Zulu.
10:03So yeah, not much more to it aside from that.
10:07For me, Tommy and Josh.
10:10Oh, chocolate.
10:11There you go.
10:12Got the chocolate.
10:13Candy for breakfast many days has occurred.
10:15Got the lenses.
10:17You already know.
10:17You fit everything in here.
10:18Motel Bend.
10:19Really, anything you could think of, we have for the most part.
10:23Your necessity is on tour.
10:24Again, for me, Tommy and Josh, we're particularly tall people.
10:28I think we're all like six foot or above.
10:31So there's definitely some nights where feet are hanging over the edge.
10:35But we make do and you gotta, I'd say we're living pretty lavish for a band of our level.
10:40And we're very grateful.
10:41So again, shout out the Ludwig family for helping us kit this out.
10:45Shout out Gabe's family.
10:47But especially Ricky.
10:48This is his baby and his creation.
10:51He knows this man inside and out.
10:52Yeah.
10:53And he kitted us up for this tour after the last couple of vans that we rented shit themselves
10:57every time that we went out on tour.
10:59We also, part of the hotel experience, we have a fan right here.
11:04So we'll turn it on.
11:05It'll suck all the hot air out because sometimes when you're sleeping in the bunks, it can get
11:10pretty hot.
11:10So the fan keeps it from all going out.
11:13And then we also up there have a diesel heater.
11:18So a heater that runs off the diesel.
11:20The van could be off and it'll keep it nice and hot while it's cold.
11:25Welcome to the last and final zone of the super sometimes tour motel vans.
11:29Where the storage goes.
11:34Well, it's something of a makeshift storage, makeshift studio for doing demoing and kind
11:42of a gym as well.
11:46This is kind of like the multipurpose room of the van.
11:49If you want to take a second to yourself to get away, you can come all the way back
11:53here.
11:53There's been many days where people have came back here to lift weights while the car is
11:57moving, which is kind of stupid, but it is an option.
12:01We've also sometimes moved the Xbox back here.
12:04If for some reason we don't want to cut the front too much.
12:07We have clothes racks.
12:08Yes.
12:09New edition.
12:09Okay.
12:10Before we get into all this, all of this, before the trailer was involved, this was where
12:15we stored all of our gear.
12:17Including the drums.
12:18Including the drums.
12:19I will find a picture to show the camera once we're done.
12:22But we added these clothes racks so you can hang your clothes, hang your towels when
12:27you need to.
12:28Right here is where the box, the power box would go.
12:32You can plug in the fan.
12:34And that also has, is hooked up to a battery right here where it charges that box.
12:40Oh.
12:41While the van is driving, runs off the alternator.
12:44So you never lose power.
12:46We have fans back here to keep us cool when it gets hot.
12:49Yes.
12:50Very essential.
12:51And all of what Dylan said.
12:52The weights.
12:53The demoing.
12:54Also, very important to note, they are up there, but Josh and Matthew are our resident,
12:59like vintage clothing heads.
13:01So this, these racks were put in place, not even to dry our towels, but like specifically
13:07for them to be able to hang their vintage clothes because they're really just heads like that.
13:12And I respect it because that's a level of game that I think the other three of us in
13:16the crew have not necessarily hopped on yet.
13:18But throughout the course of this tour, it has inspired me to maybe step up the douchebaggery a little bit
13:23and hop on the vintage clothes wave the next tour.
13:27I'm not sure what their pickups have been on this tour that have been super sick,
13:31but you can just look through a quick skim.
13:33They got what I would assume is their favorite pieces to wear on this tour.
13:38I could tell you nothing about when or where they came from except for this one.
13:45This is mine from Josh, who has a clothes brand called Shattering.
13:49I was wearing this a lot on the tour until Alan Steinberg in Nashville bit leaves off of a tree
13:56and then proceeded to chew them in his mouth and then bite me on my collar.
14:01And I kind of keep it as a memory forever.
14:04I will frame it in a photo frame when I get home to remind me of the night that Alan
14:09Steinberg bit me.
14:10Shout out, arms like me.
14:12This, quick, quick throwback.
14:15This is where we used to throw all of the gear back here.
14:18As you can see, it got really, really complicated.
14:21Tetris.
14:22Tetris.
14:23It started filling out more.
14:25This is all the drums right here on the left side.
14:27Our guitar amplifiers, the merch on the bottom, snare drum, sleeping mattress,
14:33and then all of the luggage completely Tetris in a way that is unfathomable to most.
14:40And then all of the guitars right here.
14:42And at the end of the day, we put in the merch racks.
14:45So having a trailer is a huge upgrade.
14:47Having all this space is a huge upgrade.
14:50We've been Super Sometimes from San Diego.
14:52Thank you so much for joining us on our Bus Invaders, a.k.a. Motel Benz.
14:58Shout out, Arm's Length, for having us on our second ever full U.S. tour.
15:01After this, you should go check out our brand new album, Show the World What's Underneath,
15:05out now on Pure Noise Records, streaming literally everywhere.
15:08You can listen to music.
15:09Also, check us out on Instagram and TikTok at SuperSometimes.
15:14And then YouTube to watch our infamous music videos.
15:19Hell yeah.
15:20We'll be playing Benz Warped Tour later this year.
15:22And we'll be going on a...
15:24Japan Headliner.
15:25Japan Headliner.
15:26And another U.S. tour in the fall that's unannounced.
15:29But once you hear about it, it'll be hard to miss.
15:32Come out.
15:32Yeah, we'll see you guys soon.
