00:00This one is another five minute plus one lap race for the 250 riders.
00:05The gate is about to drop now. Somebody tried to go over on the far side there.
00:09Another not great start for the 11 of Calvin Pompier.
00:14But trying to sneak up the inside through that first turn.
00:20Well, I tell you what, Jake Cannon with number three didn't get the whole shot, I don't think.
00:24But who is that just ahead of him?
00:30Difficult to tell. Yeah, yeah, we've got Skycam going on here.
00:33Over the line, Pietra, a rider we don't normally see up front.
00:36Jake Cannon second, Bordeaux third, Clout, Julian Lebeau, Hugo Mansato and then Kalena Humphrey on the start.
00:43But a good start this time around for Jules Pietra.
00:47Everybody safely around. Where are our, well, Saad Soleimani who was up there and running up at the sharp end in race one to come home in fourth.
00:55Bordeaux your winner, Clout second, Bombier third. Bordeaux is third in this one at the moment.
01:00Clout fourth.
01:01But the second now, Bordeaux on the move.
01:04Yeah, Bordeaux on the 945.
01:06Just like he was in race one, but this time before the, uh, second lap.
01:10Oh, Clout, deep there.
01:12That is, you know what, Clout is, uh, gunning for Bordeaux here.
01:17Clout there in third, Bordeaux in second.
01:19They put on a fantastic show in race one, the riders in second and third.
01:23And there you go.
01:24That move down the inside.
01:26Bordeaux takes over the lead.
01:27Clout moves into second.
01:28Jules Pietra taking the challenge to Clout and parks him.
01:34How much will that hurt him later on in the race?
01:36Yeah, that was impressive for sure, right?
01:38I mean, if I, but a guy that's not used to running up front, Clout's whoop skills are going to come through here, I think, shortly.
01:43But yeah, good job from Pietra.
01:45Well, that hurt Clout there going inside.
01:47Already had no run on the 250 entering the whoops there.
01:50But he's probably so frustrated right now to still be behind because he can see Bordeaux putting time on him.
01:55Yeah, Pietra, fifth in race one, looks across.
01:57He was expecting the payback there and just checked up just enough to, uh, allow Clout to go through.
02:03Clout with clear track, crucially.
02:05Yeah, I think the first one, Clout, really, maybe if you wanted to push the issue, could have really slammed Bordeaux on there late in the race, but chose to lay up.
02:12There's a lot of racing to go, but, I mean, you can't let the guy get too many points ahead.
02:16These two have been the clear class of the field.
02:18And actually, Lou Clout looking, uh, dangerous at the moment.
02:20He's gaining on Bordeaux despite losing a couple of bite lengths, getting caught behind Joel Pietra.
02:25He's definitely got the bit between his teeth this time, guys.
02:28What do you reckon, JT?
02:29I think it's easier to be the, kind of, the predator than the prey, right?
02:33That it's just basically the role reversal here.
02:35You see Clout make a mistake there.
02:37Uh, I like some of Clout's lines, but at the same time I talked about, you see he loses time.
02:41He's trying to race the racetrack like a 450.
02:43I think in certain areas he's trying to cut the corner short, draw really tight corners.
02:47I don't know that that necessarily works on what you could do on this track.
02:50But also, what you said, it's better to be the chaser than the leader.
02:53And that's what Bordeaux did in the first race.
02:55And he was able to see the lines that Clout had.
02:58Now, role reversal, as you say, Clout able to see what he wasn't able to see in the first race because he didn't have time.
03:03He had, like, a lap to respond when he got passed for the lead.
03:06Yeah, I love that, right?
03:07I like Clout.
03:08He's been racing all over the place.
03:09OzX stuff, obviously.
03:10Uh, he was in Germany at Stuttgart last weekend.
03:13Now he's here in Paris going to OzX next weekend.
03:16Sounds like JT.
03:17Yeah, he's a modern JT for sure.
03:19Got money, he'll race.
03:20Here he comes getting up close right now.
03:22New nickname, Jason.
03:23Side by side as they hit the Milwaukee hole shot line.
03:27Clout looking for that move down inside.
03:29Same spot as he was done on two in the first one.
03:33So Clout now leads with, what, three and a half minutes?
03:36I'm sorry, a minute and a half to go, plus a lap.
03:38It's role reversal.
03:40Yeah, I found it, JT, out of the sand, the 450s in the main.
03:44They were cutting it double in, which I was like, what?
03:47Did you see Mookie go four there?
03:49Four single?
03:50Out of, right after that section?
03:51No, I missed that.
03:52Yeah, two, three, four, one.
03:54That's the only person I've seen do it.
03:56Yeah, they were really cutting that corner close and trying to get, you know, trying to try this.
03:59Yeah, right there.
04:00And a lot of that, I think, is for Clout, is muscle memory.
04:03He's been racing at 450 for a long time.
04:05For him to immediately switch back all your, you know, and a lot of this is instinctual.
04:09They're in the heat of the moment.
04:10If you had time to really think out, okay, I need to go to the outside, to the Monte 250.
04:14You could just kind of see those sorts of nuances in his technique.
04:17Yeah, a nice battle going on a little bit further down here.
04:19We've got Jake Cannon in fifth and Calvin Fonvie in sixth.
04:22But then this group here, Hugo Manzato, Julian Lebo, Adrian Bonifacio, giving the fans what they want.
04:28Most of them French, apart from Bonifacio, the Italian on the Husqvarna.
04:33But just taking a look out of the window here.
04:36And Clout, he's got 1.6 seconds with 30 seconds plus a lap as he enters the sand section just below our commentary position.
04:44The 27 here of Manzato under pressure from Bonifacio, who moves up into seven.
04:51But can he get that momentum through the whoops? No, he can't.
04:54And Manzato, well, tell you what, he was trying to take the other dude wide and the 22 of Mikhail Lamar almost caught them both nepping.
05:04Good job for Kalana Humphrey here on the start.
05:06Running in fourth.
05:07Really good job by him.
05:08He's a rider that has a lot of fun out there.
05:10Travels around, tries to make some money wherever he can, racing, whatever he can.
05:13Yeah, six in the race one.
05:14Yeah, six in the race one.
05:15Yeah, very good job for that.
05:16JT, great point about the Predator and the Prey because we saw the first one what happened, right?
05:20I almost wonder if the next race here, Bourdain's going to be like, well, I liked it better when I was Predator.
05:25And Clout's going to be like, I liked it better when I was Predator.
05:28And we'll see what happens, right?
05:29Because they are really evenly matched.
05:31There's only one Predator and he's in the SX1 category.
05:35Right, it's 27.
05:36Well, you see Bourdain's closed the gap back down.
05:38I just wonder if he may be able to set up a similar type pass right at the very end.
05:43He's tried to close back up to the rear end of Clout here.
05:45Yeah, Paul MbA has just moved past Cannon there just a moment ago to move into 4th.
05:49And, yeah, Kalena Humphrey, the Brit on the start machine in red.
05:54Lead rider in shot.
05:56Not a rider that, you know, most riders wouldn't be too familiar with.
06:01Great to have a Brit behind the gate as well, though, riding that start.
06:04I didn't know he was a Brit right now, Paul.
06:06As this battle's going on, we have a winner who was Luke Clout.
06:11But, uh, watch this battle across the finish line here for 5th and 6th.
06:16Well, I'll tell you what, Fonvier up the inside, takes another position.
06:20Clout wins, Bourdain on 2nd, Pietra 3rd, Fonvier to 4th in the final corner.
06:24Kalena Humphrey 5th and Jake Cannon 6th.
06:27And, uh, yeah, Clout taking the checkers there to take the 2nd race win.
06:33So it's all squared, 1 point each for the wins, 2 for seconds for, uh, Clout.
06:38So they've obviously gone 1, 2, 2, 1.
06:40So 3 points on the board for those two.
06:42We'll start working out some overalls for the, for the tonight fixture ahead of, uh, race 3 a little bit later on.
