An historic day for the people of Tobago as the long awaited export license for the Studley Park Quarry, was on Tuesday presented to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, one of several goodies announced for the people of Tobago, at the Assembly Chamber Tuesday afternoon. 00:07This license will give Sunny Park Enterprises Limited an

00:13opportunity to further market your products regionally and

00:17provide opportunities to generate much-needed foreign

00:20exchange.

00:21So with your leave, Madam President and Officer, can I

00:24present Mr. Farley before I continue my speech?

00:30Thank you very much.

00:46This license was requested by the THA since 2022 under the

00:51previous PNM administration.

00:53Prime Minister Kamala Pesad Bisasa told the Assembly Chamber it

00:57was time for the Assembly to make some money.

01:00But money first.

01:01So I am so happy if you can make some more money for the people

01:04of Tobago and for Trinidad in foreign exchange as you use this

01:08export license to export, this export license to export.

01:12What is yours?

01:13The aggregate of Sunny Park.

01:15If you were doing that all this time, you might have been richer

01:18than some other places which will remain unnamed.

01:23Chief Secretary Farley-Augustin, in his expression of thanks, said it

01:28was a happy day for the people of Tobago.

01:31I did open the envelope, Madam Prime Minister, because I wanted to

01:35make sure it was not a dummy check or a blank envelope contained therein.

01:41I am happy that I can display and show a copy of the export license for the

01:50Stully Park Quarry, Stully Park Enterprise Limited application made since 2022.

01:59And one will think, as we say in Tobago, that if you have a brother in the mango tree,

02:04you will eat, but sometimes you have to just depend on a stranger to give the kind gesture

02:12that your own will not give to you.
