Der vollelektrische Polestar 3 hat im aktuellen ANCAP Crashtest die Höchstwertung von 5 Sternen erhalten. Besonders herausragend ist der Schutz für Kinder mit einem Score von 94 %, dem zweithöchsten Wert, der je vergeben wurde. Möglich macht das unter anderem ein direkt arbeitendes Kind-an-Bord-Erkennungssystem, das den Fahrer sofort warnt, wenn Kinder unbeaufsichtigt im Fahrzeug sind.
Auch Erwachsene sind im Polestar 3 bestens geschützt. In Tests wie dem Frontalaufprall bei 50 Stundenkilometern, dem Seitenaufprall bei 60 Stundenkilometern sowie dem schrägen Mastaufprall bei 32 Stundenkilometern überzeugte das Fahrzeug mit starken Ergebnissen. Die Bewertung für den Erwachsenenschutz liegt bei 90 %.
Für zusätzliche Sicherheit sorgen ein autonomes Notbremssystem im Rückwärtsgang und eine aktive Motorhaube, die bei einem Aufprall den Fußgängerschutz verbessert. Die Haube zeigt gute Schutzwirkung, während Windschutzscheibe, A-Säulen und Haubenkante gemischte Ergebnisse lieferten. Auch der Schutz für Beine und Becken von Fußgängern wurde unterschiedlich bewertet.
