Der Polestar 4 des Modelljahres 2025 hat sich dem umfassenden Euro NCAP Sicherheitstest unterzogen und dabei in mehreren Kategorien überzeugt. Beim Frontalaufprall mit 50 Stundenkilometern gegen ein deformierbares Hindernis sowie beim Aufprall gegen eine starre Barriere zeigte das Fahrzeug eine hohe strukturelle Stabilität und starken Insassenschutz. Auch beim Seitenaufpralltest gegen die Fahrertür sowie beim Pfahltest wurde ein wirksamer Schutz nachgewiesen. Der Schleudertest zur Bewertung möglicher Schleudertraumen bestätigte ebenfalls ein hohes Sicherheitsniveau.

Ein besonderer Fokus lag auf dem Fußgängerschutz. Hier kamen verschiedene Prüfmethoden mit Kopf-, Ober- und Unterschenkel-Dummys zum Einsatz. Das Fahrzeug verfügt über eine automatische Notbremsfunktion für Fußgänger und Radfahrer sowie über ein System zur Vermeidung von Türöffnungsunfällen mit Radfahrern.

Auch bei der aktiven Sicherheit punktet der Polestar 4. Mit an Bord sind autonome Notbremssysteme für den Verkehr mit Autos und Motorrädern, Spurhalteassistenten sowie Überwachungssysteme für Fahrerzustand, Ablenkung und Müdigkeit. Zusätzlich unterstützt eine adaptive Geschwindigkeitsregelung.
