00:00but now you throw in the Abdul Carter you sub him out for Aziz Ojolari you've got Kayvon who
00:09looks like it looks the best he's been since he's he's been here Brian Burns I mean we can agree
00:15that he had himself a solid camp um solid an extraordinary camp and then Dexter Lawrence
00:21there's a lot of expectations on this defensive line Paul so I guess who would you say
00:29which one of these guys has would you put the most expectations on for week one like who do
00:36who are you waiting to see come out and have themselves a breakout game week one against
00:41the commanders well look I can't wait to see Abu Carter right I mean I just can't wait to see him
00:45because he's been great in the summer and he's got that edge to him and he's a he's a nasty player
00:49you know in a good way um you know we think he's going to be a great player um so yeah I can't wait
00:55to see him but I think you know I mean I'm expecting a certain level from him look and
00:59there'll be a learning curve and all that stuff I get it but to me I'm really really focused on
01:04Kayvon Thibodeau because you know he was the fifth pick in the draft a few years ago and you know he
01:11two years ago he got 11 and a half sacks last year he got hurt you know his numbers went down um but
01:17you know to be a part of this supposedly great defensive front your players have to play great
01:24um Brian Burns is a much more proven player than Kayvon Thibodeau obviously Dexter Lawrence is the
01:30most proven player I mean he's the best nose tackle in the league um you know we we expect um very good
01:37and and and you know strong things from Abdul Carter but Kayvon is kind of like you know the
01:42furniture you know he's still there you know they haven't replaced him he's still that couch over
01:46there in the in the den and um they picked up his his fifth year option so he's not playing for a
01:52contract he's on he's contractually bound to the Giants 60 this year and next year so that's good um
01:58but you know in a perfect world Kayvon after three years they would have done what they did to Andrew
02:04Thomas and to um Dexter Lawrence they would have given him the big bag right they would have given
02:10him the big extension and Kayvon did not earn that with his play and because he got hurt so they gave
02:14him the one year fifth year option extension as as you know as a replacement for that so I'm looking
02:21at Kayvon Thibodeau you know is he is he ready to to make a statement about himself is he a good
02:28player is he a great player is he a guy you're always going to want more from you know I mean
02:32I think right now Giants fans want more from Kayvon right and you know Kayvon carries himself you know
02:38he says you know I'm always going to be after Strahan's sack numbers and things like that great shoot for
02:43the moon right but um you know he hasn't done anything to make you think that he is going to be
02:49a a regular every year and year out double digit sack guy so um the one thing I do know is that
02:56you're not going to be reading and talking about Kayvon's doubled on every play Kayvon's doubled on
03:01every play you know how can he get through when they got a they got a a defense they got a offensive
03:06tackle and a tight end chipping on every play that ain't happening this year you know that ain't
03:11happening with Brian Burns and with Abdul Carter and with and with Dexter Lawrence so let's see if
03:17Kayvon Thibodeau can have a breakout year
03:19you
