00:00Same old Giants, Big Blue defense comes up small again to ruin Kafka and Jameis debuts.
00:07Translation, Jameis and Kafka had the horses ready for battle,
00:10but the defense once again couldn't win the war and close out another football game.
00:15In fact, Jameis and Kafka actually took a bunch of second and third team players at the skill position
00:21and outran and outthrew Jordan Love and the Packers offense.
00:24To go even deeper, Isaiah Hodgins just got back to New York a couple of days ago
00:29and he led every single receiver on that field in catches and yards.
00:34We're seeing the same thing game in, game out, and it ain't Brian Dable and it ain't Mike Kafka.
00:41This defense has once again put themselves in position to get called out, and it's not even me.
00:47The numbers and the stats are what they are, and the stats say that as of today,
00:52they're 27th in points per game allowed, 23rd in passing defense, and 31st in taking the ball away.
00:59Not to mention, you've seen it, blown lead after blown lead.
01:04We can point fingers and blame the X's and O's, that's Shane Bourne,
01:09or the Jimmies and Joes and Taye Banks or whoever you want to point fingers at.
01:13But the bottom line is, this unit has completely underperformed and, to be honest, been a liability all season.
01:21We figured that they'd be thin on the back end at the start of the season,
01:25but we were comparing this defensive line to the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowl winning D-lines back in the spring,
01:34and we haven't seen that.
01:36Great defenses, like the 2007 and 2011 defenses, win games.
01:41Good defense can close out games.
01:44Bad defense give up fourth quarter leads and double-digit leads.
01:47And if you're Mike Kafka and you're trying to win some games for the guys in that locker room,
01:52the fan base, and, hey, even your own personal head coaching resume,
01:56you've got to evaluate every single option.
01:59You owe that to the fan base and the players.
