00:00I think one thing that Russell Wilson has going for him that the Daniel Joneses and those guys
00:09didn't have is I think we're going to watch a better offensive line for the Giants this year.
00:16They got another year together, another year with the same position coach, but the biggest
00:21question now when it comes to the offensive line, Paul, is is Andrew Thomas going to play?
00:26He was limited at the full padded practice on Wednesday.
00:30We'll see if he practiced with how he will.
00:32He'll probably practice today and Friday as well.
00:34But do you think that the Giants still have a shot in this game if Andrew Thomas isn't 100 percent
00:45and can't play?
00:47Well, if they don't, it's an indictment of the front office, OK, because this is the same
00:51starting offensive line group.
00:53Incredibly, you know, the Giants offensive line, you know, was really heavily criticized
00:59last year and for about the last decade, and they brought all five starters back.
01:05Continuity is great, right?
01:07Everyone says with an offensive line, right?
01:09Five fingers, fist, one hand, all that stuff, right?
01:12They have to work in unison and they're back.
01:15These guys know each other.
01:16That's a real plus.
01:18But when I go down this line and go, you know, man by man, you know, this is not a bunch
01:22of world beaters, it's not the biggest offensive line, it's not the most athletic, it's certainly
01:28not the most powerful.
01:29I think it's a very smart offensive line.
01:32I think it's got the right mix of guys.
01:35But, you know, John Runyon's a good player.
01:39You know, Greg Van Roten is a really smart player, but he's no powerhouse blocker.
01:43You know, his physical attributes this late in his career at age 35 are not, you know,
01:48what you would say top level.
01:50John Michael Schmitz is a, you know, evolving center who people outside the building have
01:56much less regard for than people inside the building.
02:00Jermaine Illuminar is a good player, but he's not a pro bowler.
02:02You know what I mean?
02:03He's not Kareem McKenzie at his prime.
02:06So, yeah, I don't think so.
02:07And it all hinges on Andrew Thomas.
02:10Do I think he will play?
02:11I don't know.
02:12I think he can play if they really want to push it.
02:15Now the question is, can they risk further injury on that surgically repaired foot?
02:22If there's any chance of, yes, he can't play.
02:24I don't think that will be the case.
02:27But if he starts, can he finish?
02:29I mean, is there any way, shape, or form Andrew Thomas can go in and you can expect him to
02:34get 65 or 68 snaps?
02:36I don't think so.
02:37So James Hudson has to be on deck no matter what, I think.
02:41I mean, I don't think you can expect a guy to go from 0 to 60 in one game.
02:46So we'll see.
02:47We'll see.
02:47You know, with Andrew Thomas as a peak left tackle, there are reasons to think this offensive
02:54line can fall into place.
02:55Without him, it's much murkier to see that happen.
